hammer mod Woot finally found one and ordered the cool looking mod
VapeHappy replied to Spyke_696's topic in Modders Forum
Um Yap, which way do the batteries go? Can you put them under the atty? Or are you stuck putting them under the button? (thereby forming a large L shape) These peeps putting up pics showing it one way (when it surely wont work that way) are gonna piss me off, LOL. Tanks, R -
Construction material of the Vamo V5 BLACK?
VapeHappy replied to VapeHappy's topic in Variable Voltage & Wattage
Thanks. I went with the SS due to upkeep. Its so simple to rebrush any scratches out. http://www.fototime.com/B8C4585FB566012/large.jpg Cheers, R -
Cotton is the BOMB! Got my "snap, crackle, and Pop" back.

Sally`s is kinda regional, its a beauty supply store/chain. Going to get some rayon, it makes sense with its high tempreture capacity. Looking at big auction site, hey, its easy, what can I say. Last night I wound a twisted 33 gauge (what an oddball size, was includ. in a KFM, :?) on a 5/32 and man does it cook. I`m running my problematic Highbrow up to 4 volts and not having any problems at all. So I think Rayon IS the next step. :?) -
Why 60 amp batteries are pointless.

Somebodies got to hook this thing up to a car battery! I`m waiting on the you tube, LOL. -
In the last couple of months Iv been vaping, I`v tried allot of things chasing "The Burn" I used to get from cigars. And while Iv found I prefer a PG slanted ratio, the ratio (once its PG heavy) is not the magic bullet for me. Make no mistake, heavy (or all) VG does nothing for me, I don`t even waist my money on it anymore. Changing flavors helps a bit, but its still not an every vape experience no matter the exact ratio, mix or flavor. The best thing Iv found to get back the throat hit is to take a 30 minute break. That brings it back until I`m used to it again and vape tongue is starting to set in, and then its time for another 30 minute break (and maybe some water, :?). So I`m on it for 15, off it for 30. Sometimes, when I can control myself. Cheers, R

Keep getting approx 2.5 ohms on kayfun lite help
VapeHappy replied to lvlakes's topic in New Vapers Forum
If you`v got a caliper or micrometer you can tell what gauge you have by miking it and using the cart on this wiki page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_wire_gauge FWIW, I used 30g on my first build,7 top wraps @ 1/8 in. and got 1.3 ohm. Runs flipping fantastic for my light colored juices. With cotton wick. On the dark colored juices I may resign myself to changing out the wick once a day, :?( Cheers, R -
KayFun Lite Plus V2 airflow issue.
VapeHappy replied to FundamentalForce's topic in New Vapers Forum
Ya, you should always soak (prime) your wicking material, I learned this the hard way too. Cotton burns fast, LOL. POOF! And once its soaked, you are good to go as soon as you get it on your battery, I really like that. :?) You can also somewhat prime it by plugging the air inlet with your finger and pulling on it gently, but not too much, or you will flood it and have juice leaking out your air inlet, necessitating a tear down and clean out. I was not impressed by how easily the screw moves and was really concerned with it locking up on the battery. What I did was use a very small piece of paper towel and used it as a wedge when putting the screw in, it holds just tight enough now that I don`t think it will go anywhere. It still turns, but with enough resistance I feel it wont move on its own. I did`nt want to use any lock tight as I did`nt want that problem in the future. Some juices don`t like 4 volts. I have a juice here that wont go over 3.5 before it burns to the coil. Start cool, and work your way up to the point you can just start to taste it burning, then dial it down a bit and see how it goes. I`m actually still working on the best coil for this stuff as its really dark (highbrow cigar) and ruins wicks in a day, But it sure tastes good when it burning right. Cheers, Randall -
The only evidence I have, other than the huge clouds coming out of the hyper tank sentinel combo. In other news, I just ordered the KayFun+, :?) Cheers, R

Personally, I love age, but Vinces looks really nice, :?) Dings and deep scrapes are going to be impossible to polish out. But for a quick clean up and shine, you might try Never Dull polishing wad, it works a charm on precious metals and does`nt remove any metal. I think you can find it at automotive stores in the car wax area. Cheers, R

Ha, Ha. I`m too messed up now to take pics. Gotta lay off the sauce for a little bit now, ha ha. Ya, dobies, it is really a no brainer. Had to change the cotton which as I`m pretty sure I used too much and they started dry hitting, but other then that no damage done, re did them and we`ll see how this one goes. But I gotta slow down for a little bit, LOL.. Cheers, R

30 gauge arrived and Iv wound 2) 1.3`s and one 1.5. Man do they kick arse!! Serious snap crackle and pop, :?) Yap, I doubt I`ll never buy another atty again (unless I need parts). That`s a shame, the guy at my local vape shop told me they were "only 2.50 each"! Ha ha ha. Hello Kayfun, come to papa, :?) I really got to thank VT for helping me with the learning curve, I could`nt have done it without the fine folks here. Cheers, R

See if this works. http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?si=false&r=2&id=3.0479999999999996 This is assuming you`ll be using a 1/8 in. drill bit like I do. I really would`nt worry about a couple of tenths in any direction until you know what does what. The Vamo cuts off at 1.3 or 1.2 ohms (depending on its sensitivity) so you can not go below that range. Cheers, Randall

Having quit 35 years of smoking like I was turning off a light with the help of vaping, I can kinda sound like I`m trying to proselytize at times. That being said, its a Journey "dad", you cant get from point a to point z by teleportation. What you can do, is read vapor talk, allot. Ask allot of questions if need be, most here are happy to answer questions BC we know how important it was to us. Research everything, RESEARCH EVERYTHING. Google is there to help you make a buying decision when the time comes to buy. Buy what you can afford, remember that what you spend on vaping you would have spent on tobacco, its surely cheaper vaping no matter what you spend. Oh ya, go look up Pbusardo on youtube and watch what appeals to you, I learned so much from this gentleman. Don`t sweat the small stuff, be committed to the learning curve and it will pay dividends, in spades. Than you can start adding up days and weeks and years without smoking. :?) Vapehappy!

Ya Buddy! That`s what I found out. An open mind brings endless possibilities. I told the guy in the ciggy store (small vape selection) the other day, Whats better than having three cigars lined up and lit? Having three mods loaded with good batteries and juice. Pretty soon, you`ll toss the ash trays. But keep one around, it makes a great place to put your little scraps of kitchen towels and latter on, wire stubs and cotton shreds, :?) Oh, and the old humidor makes a great place to store your ever growing juice collection, LOL. Vapehappy!

Ya, no way could I do it with my naked eyes, don`t have the patience. But my day job is as a watchmaker (why I do not have any patience, LOL), so I live under a one eyed loop all day long. Try getting one of those hands free magnifiers or better yet a mag visor, and you`ll be able to see it much better. Yap, my KPT is hitting like a hill billy meth explosion. :?) . Cheers, and Good Luck, VH -
Ya Hoo. So I`ll be rebuilding KPT coils in the next day or so, so I`v been doing allot of googling and reading and such. And while doing all this reading, I kept hearing so much about cotton. So I decided to go ahead and try re-wicking a new coil just for fun. HOT DAMN. I`m a believer. Will Never, never go back to silica wicks. No gurgling, no flooding, Taste is SUPERB. I`m running my tanks down to just the very last bit of juice now, not having to worry about sucking up juice in the tube. No leakage whatsoever so far. I simply can not believe the difference. So if you are on the fence about cotton, just try re-wicking a new coil with it,(I added a flavor wick on top also), and see what all the (vapor) talk is about!! Just so you know, there is a slight flavor of the cotton for the first couple of hits, but it goes away very quickly. And make sure you wet it before trying to fire it, I watched a video by a guy named Ray (youtube) that showed how to do it. Vapehappy!

Of course you can vape in the loo. You can vape while you poo. Of course you can. In the can.

Right on Rix, thank you. That`s just the 411 I was looking for. I had seen your tute, but was being, ahem, lazy in my research, LOL. Thanks Tam, its on the short list. Hey Rix, loving on some Toby Mac right now. Then its on to some Grits, :?) R

A whoops. Cant see the forest for the trees sometimes. Thanks guys, And thank you Comp for the extra info, much appreciated. OK, Going to order some wire and wick, will be looking for cotton once I get a KF. R
-
What wire size should I get? What rope size too, :?) For about 1.5 to 1.8 ohm. I would measure, but it would mean tearing up a new atty, :?( TIA, Randall

LOL, Ya, we put something up to our lips and suck. They find that intolerable. And yet allot on the other side do that every day, day in and day out, and they do it in front of camera`s no less. I wont mention any names, but reid and pelosi come to mind. I`m laughing so hard I want to cry, :?(

I`m hoping (and praying) the tide turns. That common sense comes back to this country and we the people start doing our own research instead of believing whatever someone with a "special interest" tells them. But its hard to herd the sheeple, and the tail is always wagging the dog.

Welcome to the forum, :?) Just got to keep an open mind, and be sick of the ciggy`s. When I`m out and about a Kamry K100 does me just fine, with a 1.8 atty in it, it hits great and I can put just about any tank I have on it, or I use carto`s for dripping. It cheap, and can take a drop or two. Best of luck, It (vaping) works, I know because I worked it. Cheers, Randall

Does the longer battery tube go under the atty, or under the fire button. sorry for the simplistic question, but Im in the market for one of these and I see pics of the mod set up both ways and this has me quite confused. I only want to get one if it goes under the atty so it forms a hammer shape. It looks really easy to hold that way. TIA, R
