Thanks. I will try that. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about. I am coiling it close to one side to avoid the tab in the center. I position the air hole right in front of the coil and there is no wick below it. I am not sure this is right. It is working pretty well, but I have nothing to go by. Please don't make fun of my terrible pictures and poorly wrapped coils...lol

I didn't want to hijack the other thread about coil diameter, because my questions are similar, but different. I am building with 26ga Kanthal. I have been using a 3.1mm pin to wrap on. It is just under 1/8". Is this too big? I am using 6 wraps (dual coils/parallel) and compressing them. I am coming up with .45ohms or so. It heats fast and even. My main concern is wicking. I have been using both organic cotton and rayon. Rayon seems to work the best for me up to this point. I am using just enough to cause pretty good resistance when sliding it through the coil. I am building on a tobh (the small one). I am cutting it very near the coil on the side near the top cap and leaving enough to fill the drip well on the opposite side. There is no wicking material under the coil itself. Is this correct? How do I know if I am swamping the coil or if it is wicking correctly? I have the air holes directly in front of the coils (well as close as you can get it on a TOBH)

Welcome Marlena! I have only been vaping a few months. I have quite a few partial bottles and I just vape mine when I get low. I also mix them to make different flavors. I have thought of Paying It Forward, but I don't know how a new vapor will feel about getting partial bottles. It does seem like a waste. I am looking next to me in my tray and I have close to 300ml of flavors I don't use. I guess if times get hard, I will always have it. I am sure there is a time when they will not be any good and I will have to throw them out.

I'm sorry for your loss. The chantix can be a good tool. It was responsible for my longest time span i have gone without an analog. It just didn't stick for me. I am only a little over 2 months in this time, and only vaping. So far so good. Welcome to Vapor Talk.

I use a nautilus which is supposed to be a 5ml tank. I usually use between 4 - 6 ml a day in it. I seem to have a little flooding if I let mine get below the 2ml mark. I am super lazy and I just top it off. I have never had any trouble. I do vape it down to near empty on the weekend. I dump the tank, change coils, and wash. I usually drop my coil in a cup of vodka and let it set overnight. The next morning I rinse it out and let it air dry until next weeks change. I vape the same flavor in the tank so I don't have to worry about changing flavors. I usually use the coils 2 times and toss them in a spares box (approxamately 2 weeks with 1 cleaning)

Please suggest a flavor profile for dripping

Thanks everyone! I kinda ended up doing a little of everything y'all suggested. I came out with 90 ml. of my All Day Vape, and 5 new flavors. They are all 20PG/80VG 9mg. Out of the 5 I think 2 are going to work, possibly 3. I really can't describe them, but the ones I am enjoying on it are cream-ish flavors and one is a citrus/cream. I think I have a favorite for now. It is called Easter Island. It is good enough I am enjoying it quite a bit. Now that I am enjoying the flavor, I can focus on the coils and wicking. -
Please suggest a flavor profile for dripping

Thank you. You are exactly right, everything is just too intense. I have never taken a setup into the vape shop before, I am not really proud of my coils or my $14.00 mod. I think you are correct though, taking it with me is the best answer. -
I am getting ready to head to the vape shop. I have got to find a flavor for my dripper. I built a .6ohm dual coil setup last night on my TOBH. I really like the amount of vapor, and the quality of the vapor. I just can not find anything I like the taste of. I normally do fruit flavors and even tried tobacco flavors but I made myself sick trying them all last night. Drip, Vape, Rewick, Repeat... I have never done, the coffee, or cream flavors, so I am thinking about them. I can't do peanut butter flavors because it seems to stick in my sinuses and I taste it all day. I don't know where to start. I am also going to pick up some VG to cut some of them and maybe that will help. My juices are all 50/50, 60/40,24mg & 18mg. I need something a little weaker. I understand that taste is subjective, but I am getting desperate!

Yes beer at Wal-Mart. It is a good thing! I am really not a big drinker anymore. I do enjoy it from time to time. I understand on not wanting to fix things. I do enjoy tinkering, but hate when I have to do it. (Like fix the lawnmower) I totally am with you on the tank thing though. It is just so easy. I fill my nautilus in the morning jump in the car and go. I hated when all I had was a KPT2 mini and I had to fill it twice a day because if it got low it would leak. (I could flood a desert, some tanks I just can't make work) I am an extremely nervous person, borderline ADD. I have to be busy, I can't turn off my brain. If I didn't have this stuff in the evenings to relax and take my mind off of life, i would be working. I have learned to turn it off a bit over the weekend, but not as well as I should. Congratulations on nearly 500 days...that is epic!

I guess it's a 44 year old thing. I turned 44. I still go to the bars for metal shows occasionally, but that's about it. I work on the road 5 days a week, and my wife 3-5 days. We really cherish our "home time". Kids are grownish. My vaping is mostly to keep from smoking, except in the evenings. Thats my time to relax with a drink and taste some juice. It reminds me of the the cigar in the evening. Sorry for the total thread hijack and rant!

I totally understand what you're saying. I don't want to give the wrong impression. I really like the rebuildables. I have not found anything I like to vape in them. It is kind of like if I want a beer, I go to the liquor store and grab some (or Walmart), I don't go to the bar. I guess the social end of things is good, it just isn't my thing.
-
To be honest, I am growing increasingly weary of the B&M's. I feel like most in my area are promoting the anti-social, rebellious aspects of the hobby. I am a long time headbanger so I am comfortable with the people, I just don't have time to wade through the masses of young cloud chasers to get the products that keep me from smoking analogs. Sorry for the mini rant. I have no problem with cloud chasing, or young people. I know the local shops have to follow the money. I just want to get in and get out. That is why I want to find what I need from the internet. It is just easier for me. I guess I am getting old and grouchy!

That would be ideal. I will look into it. I have seen others in there with their setups, but never really paid attention. I have sat in there and vaped on the little iclear's until i was dizzy. I don't have a clue how many flavors they have but the endless trays of clero's they carry around is amazing. I would be curious to know if I wicked it very short, would it make it easier to change flavors? I don't want to load it up and have to wade through too many overlapping flavors. I drive so much, I don't think I will every get away from tanks and their convenience. (of course i have been wrong before) I do enjoy dripping at the house/hotel.

I may run into the local shop Saturday. They keep all of the sample flavors in little Iclear16's. I like that about them, because it is a good little dual coil tank. I have never seen just bottles sitting around that you can drip whild you sit there. They just opened a new location and it may be different. I will have to check it out. I think the kayfun's look great. I definately want one. I just wish I could find a flavor that will work in them. It is so strange. I love my flavors in the Nautilus, both with the BDC and BVC coils. BVC has a little better flavor, but I can't keep them from flooding. I went back to the BDC for my daily setup. BVC in my backup.

I really can't explain it. It is really everything that is too intense flavor-wise. I think it is too fruity, and too sweet. I really only enjoy fruit type flavors in the tanks, but it is off putting in the TOBH. My little 510 atomizers that I drip in don't bother me, it tastes much like the tanks, and they are great for trying different flavors. I need to just order a bunch of random samples that I think I won't like and just rewick until I find the right one! I think the closest analogy I can come up with is garlic. I love spicy food, and I love garlic. If you get just a little too much garlic in something I can't eat it, it tastes terrible. I am also with you on the salt and vinegar, one of my favorites! I also love sweets but I tend to go on sweet binges that last a few days. I will eat them 3 meals a day for a while, then won't touch them for weeks. My wife jokes that I am having a low blood sugar spell that lasts a few days. Or a sweet tooth ache.

That is great! I tried the watermelon in mine and didn't care for it. I have 3 different versions of watermelon. I will mess with it more when I get home and see what I find. I have a spearmint/peppermint/menthol that I like in my little 510 dripping atomizers, but it is too strong in my TOBH. I may do a little mixing and see what I come up with. I have 3 new flavors sitting at the post office. I don't even remember what they are. I have ordered so many small sample sized I can't keep them straight!
-
I am having exactly the same problem. I have really enjoyed building the coils I have done. I like the performance, I just don't like the flavor. I need to find different flavors, at least I hope!
-
I really like mine. It is actually my backup rig. I use the MVP as my daily vape. I like it because it is small and and lasts pretty good. I also like that I can dial in the watts and forget it. It dosn't matter what I throw on top of it stays pretty much the same.
-
Welcome Liz! I am like you. I really don't vape in public much. I tend to keep it in the car, at home, and in the office. I really did about the same when I smoked. It is gaining acceptance in a lot of areas, but there is so many misconceptions and I normally don't want to deal with them in public. (I am shy and non-confrontational, a weird combination for a salesman!) I sat next to a woman today in a nonsmoking Denny's in Abilene, TX and she was vaping away. What really caught my eye is that she was an older lady and no one even gave her a second look. (I mean no offense by calling her older, she was older than me, and I know better than to try to guess the age of a woman)

I didn't bring an RBA with me on this trip. I need to build a small toolbox for the hotel rooms. I spend 3-4 nights a week on the road. I bring tanks, extra coils and my back ups. I also have found most of the vape shops along my sales route. I think this weekend that will be my project. Building coils will help pass the time and give me practice!
-
I have actually made a few coils and fired them on my MPV. I do over tighten them, I am just so afraid it isn't making good contact. I'm sure I will get the feel with more practice. I can't wait until I get home. My charger should be there Thursday and I get home Friday.

MSmom601, Good luck finding the right flavor! Even though I have not vaped for as long as you have I got lucky. My younger sister was vaping and I really liked 2 of her flavors. I went to the place she got hers and found 1 more. I was switching between 3 tanks all day and got tired of it. The flavors were all fruit flavors, so I mixed them all into my nautilus and have not looked back. Everyone who tries it says it is way too fruity and sweet, but it works for me! Now if I could just find a flavor for dripping, I would be set!

Would you try Vaping if you Never tried a Cigarette?
jasonculp replied to TheRealKaty's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I run through this moral dilemma with a buddy of mine. He started vaping a month ago. He ran out of his 0 nicotine and is now using his girlfriends 16. He was never a smoker, but is now vaping. He is quite a bit younger than I am so he is always asking me questions about it. I discourage it a bit, but as a professional addict, I know this is pointless. Every time someone told me to quit, I doubled up.
