  1. I never understood why I like so much more airflow. I guess I know now! One of my favorite tanks was an Aspire ET-S with the little BDC coil. I had drilled the air holes out. It didn't make a big difference. I finally pulled the center pin on the coil and drilled it out. It worked pretty good, but it whistled so bad I couldn't stand it... I guess you live and learn.
  2. That is the bad thing about a 4nine. NO adjustment. My 454 has an adjustible center pin, which helps if the battery is too short. If the battery is too long you are just SOL.
  3. I have got very unpredictable. I was going through as much as 35-40ml/week of my all day vape. Last month I cut that nearly in half, but I started dripping and went through 90ml/month of my dripping flavor. This month has averaged 25/week in my Nautilus, and 15ml/week of my dripping flavor. I think a lot of mine is determined by my schedule. I drip more when I am at home, or in motels (if I bring my RDA). I really enjoy the dripping, but I do run through the juice. I have a secondary flavor I found, that I kinda like, but it was a 70pg/30vg/12mg juice, I cut it 50/50 with VG and it is working good. This makes it pretty reasonable cost wise to drip.
  4. I feel for you. It is frustrating. I can flood anything. I still have trouble with my nautilus. I have learned if the juice gets a little thin (from heat) and the tank gets a little low, it will flood on me. If I don't have juice around, I turn it up until the juice runs to the top of the tank and take a few puffs. It burns off the residue and it won't flood for a bit. I never got this to work on anything but the nautilus. Of course I try to keep my tank full and cool to eliminate the problem.
  5. It sounds like it is flooding on you. I really don't have an answer for you. I have had very bad luck with kanger products when it comes to flooding. I think it just me. I have many friends who have no problems with theirs, but I have tried anything except rebuilding my own. I am sure someone will come around soon that will have some useful advice (unlike myself).
  6. Sorry, I got off on my tangent....lol It makes me curious if it is the batteries too. Are they the same length? I don't know anything about your mod, or if that could make a difference.
  7. I really don't have anything to compare them to. I of course am going from everything I read on the web. I bought the efest button top 18500s for my 4nine, but they are just a little to long. If I snug everything down, it autofires. I could back of my atty, but that is too close for comfort for me. I got xtar 18350s, I have read that they are only rated around 5A, so I am back to 18650 vtc4s... Oh well. I guess that is one thing I love, and hate about this hobby. You will never get bored trying new things!
  8. Is it gurgling? or just leaking? can you tell if it is coming through the center pin of the coil?
  9. I have had good luck with mine, so far. I also have the same problem with the fire button not hitting every time. I just had guessed that it was my cheap mods. They are the only 18650s that I have. I was going to purchase some more pretty soon, but had decided to get something button top instead. I am not too hard on mine. I only drip for a few hours in the evening. I hate to hear you're having bad luck with them!
  10. I just got my 18500s and 18350s in. When I put the 18350s in my 4nine, It is nearly too small! I don't have large hands, but my hand rests against the atty. I have not acutally vaped with the 350s yet, because i need a higher ohm build. I am enjoying where I have all of my builds at for now and don't want to change them. I am running a dual 26 gauge on my 454 at .6 ohms right now and loveing it. The little 4nine (clone) is such a big step up in quality over the GP clone I was using. I really like the hybrid connection and the very simple button mechanism. I also understand why they say it isn't for beginners, there is a lot of things that can go wrong if you don't pay attention. I guess it is that way with any mod.
  11. I am with y'all. I tried all forms of tobacco. I kept on smoking. Chantix worked for a while, but I got to a point were the cigarettes were the only thing that would calm my brain. Now that I am vaping, I don't have cravings nearly as often, and when I do, a few puffs on the vape and they pass. I am seeing I go for much longer periods without vaping than I did smoking, and if we have to run an errand down the street, or short trips (a few hours), I don't even bring my MVP with me. The same trip would have had anywhere from 2-4 cigarettes. Business meetings are much less tedious, also. One problem I have found is that I normally took the trash out when I smoked (I didn't smoke in the house). I don't go outside as much, therefore the trash doesn't get taken out as often. My wife has informed me that this is unacceptable and must be changed...
  12. That is a nice looking setup! I am glad you got it working.
  13. At one time we had My Wife, my step-daughter, her son, my sister-in-law, and my father-in-law in the house. It was only for a few weeks until the sister-in-law, and father-in-law moved into another house. It was a mad house! We couldn't keep enough food, or toilet paper...lol. Bless you! I can't imagine how difficult it is, but you are blessed! My wife comes from a large family. She was raised on a farm in a 2 bedroom house with 12 brothers and sisters. I love all of the stories and great memories she has. My childhood was so mundane compared to hers!
  14. That sounds great. I love green chili! Most of my wife's cooking is more traditional Mexican, using the jalepeno, and arbol chilie. I love it, but have really got into more of the green chilies, tomatillo, stuff lately. She does not know how to cook it well, yet. As I travel around I find dishes that I like and we try to figure them out at home using the internet, my poor sense of taste, and her good cooking ability! I enjoy cooking too, but we both can't cook together. She is a "sprinkle of this, and a dash of that" type cook. I use measuring spoons, scales, recipes, and notes... It all works though! We both love good food, but it is just us. Her kids are grown, and it is so hard to cook/shop for 2. She has such a hard time with it. She still cooks like there are 4 of us in the house. Plenty of left overs, but I am not a big left over guy. We both work out of town so we are only home in the evenings a few nights during the week, and here on weekends. It sometimes seems it is cheaper for us to eat out. We live in a small town with only 2 restaurants. No matter which one you go to you wish you had gone to the other...lol.
  15. One of the only things that can keep me from smoking, other than vaping, is a great meal. Sounds great! My wife made beef stew with cornbread tonight. It was an overcast, cool, damp day today. It hit the spot! I can't wait for morning, she is making breakfast burritos with homemade tortillas and pico de gallo. I love Sunday mornings!
  16. I have no idea on the clouds, but, Welcome to Vapor Talk!
  17. This does look like a good board. I would like to have a box with it in it. The temp thing looks good, but I have never built with Ni200. I also like the fact it will go down to 1 volt or 1 watt. Some of the newer boxes don't go below battery voltage which could be bad for people who like a lower volt/watt vape. Reverse polarity protection. Now if I could just find a dark wood/polished brass dual 18650 box, with this chip in it, for around $100 I would be set!....lol
  18. I think I would start with one of each. Which ever one you like the least, is now your backup...lol I personally like the Nautilus (Full Size) with the BVC (Mini) coils. They have just worked best for me. I have been really tempted to get an Kanger Aero tank. I want them to work for me, but I flood them so bad. I don't think there is anything wrong with them. I bet it is my vape style that makes them prone to flood. Good luck with your quest, it is half the fun (and money) in this hobby!
  19. Welcome to Vapor Talk Steve! Congratulations! I had a similar experience with the V2 and other Cig-a-likes. Keep up the good work!
  20. I agree! I will say one thing, this board has some of the most experience I have found. At the same time, everyone seems to check their attitudes at the door. There is a lot of personality, but very few arguments. That is why I enjoy this place so much! Welcome to Vapor Talk!
  21. <QUICK DERAIL ALERT> I am having trouble with this! It seems to be true for me too on my Variable Voltage rigs, but not as bad on Variable Wattage. I understand the math, if you have a higher resistance coil, it uses less wattage/amperage. This should result in lower battery use. This isn't always the case Why is that? Is it the fact we have to hold the button down longer to get the desired heat? Edit: Never mind, I answered my own question....with a VV you increase the Voltage, which raises your power usage...duh. <BACK ON TRACK> This is one of the reasons I prefer to use a Variable Wattage battery for my ADV. It really does not change no matter what coil I use.
  22. I think it also depends on the coil. I use a Nautilus with the BVC coils. I don't treat them nice. I use the maximum wattage on my MVP. Just for fun, I ran it for 28 days without cleaning or changing coils. I would just top off the tank and go. When I did take it apart and clean the tank, and change the coil, I noticed very little difference. There was some, but not as much as I would expect. I run a fruit flavored juice that is 60PG/80VG. I vape around 4ml-6ml a day. So I have run as much as 28 tanks without changing a coil. I don't recommend this to anyone, it was just a test (and laziness). I think from now on I am just going to run them until I notice degradation. I will clean a little more often though. The spring on the contact as a little gunked up and could have caused problems.
