I am sorry I don't know the answers to any of your questions, but welcome to Vapor Talk!

I really like the looks of the IPV3. I really like that it has 2-18650's. I am not a huge power guy, but the added battery life would be nice. I also like the shape of the box. I think I could get by with a 50 watt box, but the added battery and the relatively little price difference has me leaning toward the IPV3.

I nearly gave up on vaping because of it. The raw juice gives me terrible heartburn, not to mention, a heck of a nicotine buzz. I have had the best luck with the Nautilus. It still gives me trouble from time to time. I do have a serious flooding problem! I can't use so many tanks, that I know great products, because I flood them. I love the quality, looks, and economy of Kanger products, they just will not work for me. I need to follow the guys/gals advice and start rebuilding them. I just won't take the time.

I run the BVC in mine. It floods from time to time. I run a 60PG/40VG in it. It is a little thin. I run mine wide open on the airflow at 11watts. Mine seems to be worse the more closed I run the airflow. One thing I do is turn it up so that the coil is uncovered and pull a few vapes off of it. It helps for a bit. I guess it doesn't allow any juice into the coil while burning off the excess. I am probably not the best guy for advice. I can flood an empty tank.

Congratulations! It is so hard to make that first step. I was the same way. I got down to 1 a day before bed, and I hated it. They tasted terrible and kind of made me sick. I was chain vaping nervously in the evenings so the effect of the analog late in the day was near illness. I smoked the last one and never looked back. Don't rush stepping down. Do what you need to, to keep from smoking. If you have to stay at a nicotine level for a long time, it is OK. Stopping smoking is such a big deal, people seem to think it is only the nicotine, it isn't. If that was the only thing we were addicted to, we could stop using the patch or gum. Keep drinking the water, and keep your vape gear close by and use it all you need to. Dont feel bad if you more than you think you should, at least it isn't a cigarette! Good luck, and best wishes!

How much do I really need to spend for a Mech mod
jasonculp replied to radnate's topic in Mechanical Mods
A man after my own heart! I do have a soft spot for hand made boots, but I don't own any (yeah, a headbanger in cowboy boots...smh) I am too cheap. I am over 40 so the fancy jeans are out of the question. I dress nice for work, but if I had my way, Levi's and a T-Shirt would be my wardrobe...lol I also would spend in the $200 range for a meal for me and my wife, but just not too often! $200 for a mechanical mod... I doubt it. (I won't say never though) -
maybe I need help. because it doesn't seem to exist!?

I am with you on this. My theory may be wrong, but as long as you use a safe chemistry battery, and respect it keep your builds within proper limits, you should be fine. I guess if you buy them from a reputable seller, a known brand, watch for bad spots, feel for heat, etc. we should have no problems. At least I hope! -

I just tried IE on my laptop, V11.0.13 and it is doing the same thing with it. Strange... I was going to try Chrome too, but it started throwing programs into my tray, got mad and uninstalled. Firefox 33 on my machine is getting the same error. -
Sounds like a beast! I want one bad.

I love this conversation! My wife and I had exactly the same one the other day. "Take 1 pill 2 times a day" on day 5 she said she had 5 of the 10 pills left.... I deal with this on the "production" end of our business. I revise my previous statement, there are stupid questions, most begin in our shop.

How much do I really need to spend for a Mech mod
jasonculp replied to radnate's topic in Mechanical Mods
I only have 2 mods. I bought them on the same website. I gave 15.00 for a GP Paps clone. It has great machining on the tube, everything looks good, but the button is poor...really poor. It worked good enough until I bought my 4nine clone from the same place. I am in love with this little mod. I only gave 19.99 for it. I would buy another if they had one. I don't know who's version it is, but it has been great! That being said, I DON'T RECOMMEND IT as a first mod. I am a mechanical nerd and I have had 2 auto-fire incidents with it, and I am a very careful. Both were due to trying to get adjust excessive throw out of the button. I totally understand this! I feel like you to a point. I would pay over $100 if it had something unique. I do like the design of the Super-T Workhorse, it is approaching $70. I also like the MMVapor's Nanos. It is also around $100. I personally do not use a mechanical mod enough to justify spending much more than that. I am however looking into some of the 50 watt and up electronic mods that have replacable batteries such as IPV2/2S/3, Sigelei 100 watt, and Cloupor T6. I am not going to pull the trigger anytime soon, but It would be nice. I like the "best of both worlds" approach, mechanical power, electronic safety. -
I only have one set of EFests. I really like them. They are 18500's they work great in my mod, and fit better than the 18650's because they are button tops. I think my I may try a couple of sets of 18350's and 18650 button tops. I also don't push my batteries too hard. My go to build is just a .5 ohm (26ga/3.1mm/Horizontal) I would hope that 8 Amps isn't too hard on a 15 Amp battery.

That is such a great story! This is a great place filled with good people.

I am sure I have been responsible for many of those, and plan on being responsible for many more in the future...lol

I totally agree with Tameiki. The old saying "There is no such thing as a stupid question" is so true! I have learned so much from these so called "stupid" questions! Just looking at the statistics of this board at any given time, such as now, there are over 200 people reading this board, less than 30 are members. In the last few hours only a handful of them have posted. So out of all those people, I am sure someone else was thinking the exact same thing, but didn't want to ask. I read for months on this and other boards before I finally got the guts to start asking questions.

Thanks Comp! I am a spreadsheet nerd! I have looked at most of the calculators out there, but most are much more complicated than what I need. I really don't have any desire to get into making my own juice. I just have some stuff I need to dilute. I do think it finally clicked and I built a small spreadsheet. I am now checking it for accuracy. It looks like 1 part juice to 2 parts VG is gonna nail it. (1:3 would work too) Thank you for the information! I will now promptly lose the spreadsheet in MyDocuments, and erase it from memory and have to ask again in a few weeks!

I am sitting here tonight trying to remember how to calculate dilutions of juices. I thought, I would build a quick spreadsheet to do it and I am drawing a blank! I can't remember how to do it. I used to blend fertilizer for a living right out of highschool and have done it thousands of times, but it is gone! What I am trying to do is cut some juices with VG to drip them. 50/50 is simple, but doing it with different ratios is eluding me. I was doing a 60PG - 40VG - 24mg juice cutting it with 100% VG. Thanks!

I do use water on tanks and pieces of the tank, except the coil. Water does a fine job cleaning out the nooks and crannies, but try to dry it good. The coils, on the other hand, does not work too well, unless you let it dry a while. Preferably overnight.

LOL! Please don't take me wrong. I don't think that everyone who vapes should know ohm's law and how to use it. (it is handy though) I do think if you are working the counter of a B&M which sells rebuilding supplies, and helping people in the transition from ego's to mechanical, it should be a requirement! Of course I am a little weird, the last college course I took, I had bought the textbook, read it, and completed all the exercises a week before the class. -

You are exactly right! I have never used that feature, but will now that you pointed it out, I never realized it did that. Please don't think I was referring to you Earthling! It seems like every one I meet on the streets using a mvp gets this wrong! I have only encountered 3. 2 were B&M employees, and 1 a hotel clerk. Each one had a nautilus on them and I asked them what settings they are running them on. The guy I asked at the vape shop a few weeks ago told me he was running 5volts and 8watts. I had my app on my phone, so I asked him where he got a 3ohm coil for a nautilus. He said it isn't it is a 1.8 ohm. I just had to smile. The guy next to me kinda snickered under his breath.... -

I love my MPV. It is my all day, all the time rig. I have never come up short on capacity. It lasts forever, even at 11 watts. I am reaching a point in my vaping life where I would sacrifice a bit of capacity for versitility and power. I would like to find a small, cheap (but good), upgrade. I would like to replace my mechanical for the nights I am on the road, and be able to use it all day at 11 - 15 watts with the tank. My go to build is a .4 - .6 ohm in my drippers, so probably anything that will fire that low, and run possibly 50 watts... I really don't need much more than that. -

I always use the Wattage setting. It is just easier. I understand watts. With volts you have both the variable of volts and resistance to take into account. With watts, it is just watts. I run Nautilus BVCs almost exclusively, and run them at the maximum 11 watts. This works great with my juice and vape style. Another thing to remember is that you can use either watts or volts, not both. I have run into a lot of people (expecially at the B&Ms) that think you can set them both. It is impossible, you are either in wattage or voltage mode. Not to mention that it does not work with Ohm's law. -
