  1. Sitting in my recliner, catching up on the DVR (iZombie here too) and working on databases for work. Vaping Frutti-Tutti from Fadora with one setup, and coffee and Easter Island in the dripper.
  2. Another option, that I know nothing about, but looks interesting is the EGO one. It looks simple and safe.
  3. I understand what you are saying, and "cheap" is a dirty word around here. Inexpensive is not. I see VapeNW has the cloupor mini for 29.99, but unless you own an 18650 charger and extra batteries, you are back up to the price of your iStick 50W. IMO the best batteries on the market are those @willblack posted they are Samsung 25R batteries.
  4. I can't tell by the size, but I bet the wire I use would slip right under that little box perfectly! I tried some coils last night made out of standard wire, and it just does not compair to the Tiger Wire. It is a bit pricy compared to bulk wire, but totally worth it!
  5. That is a nice kit. I really like it!
  6. I totally agree with the article. I don't go to any of the local B&M's unless it is an emergency. I have noticed this as of late. It really bugs me. Don't get me wrong I have no problem with those places, but it does look bad to clients when you are leaving a combo vape & head shop. While I really enjoy clouds. I don't compete, and only use the drippers at the house or motel. I noticed today that the Lemo2 might be putting out a bit more vapor than I am comfortable doing in public so I dialed it back a bit. I don't ever want anyone to be offended by my vapor. I was the same way with my smoking.
  7. Ditto's on the Batteries. Best I have ever owned.
  8. I was doing the same thing, but I will never make it. Too many things are half the price, that I want more. I have always wanted to build a mod and thought this would be a good excuse. I don't know if I will ever get it done. I am sure I will end up buying one at lower prices too.
  9. I want a TC mod so bad that I can hardly stand it. I have gutted a Cloupor mini and I am designing a fixture to transplant a DNA-25 or DNA-40 into it, I just have not finished. I am hoping my work schedule gets a bit more managable soon so I can get back to my hobby!
  10. That's cool! It always makes things go great if everyone has a sense of humor!
  11. That depends on your RDA. I build on a TOBH and the placement of the airholes when wide open are not centered, so you have to build towards the side. It all depends on your setup. IMO you are correct that you want the coil in the path of the airflow coming in.
  12. You can buy a few factory coils made out of nickel. I know they SubTank coils are produced and I am sure many others.
  13. LOL, Nothing special? I think a Sigelei 100 watt mod (and VTC4's) are worth taking about!
  14. I will. I just built a dual coil .75 ohm coil on the Goblin and it has great flavor. It is heck to build on. I made 3mm coils and they wouldn't fit comfortably between the posts and the barrel. I am running 2 - 2.5mm 8 wrap coils with 28 gauge wire. It is hitting hard... Probably a bit more than I like day in and day out. I need to build the LEMO 2. I really like the top fil but the stock .5 ohm coil has little flavor. I am getting much more out of my SubTank mini with Tiger Wire. It tastes about like the SubTank mini with the stock coil. I filled it up, so I have to vape it dry before I recoil.
  15. I got on it close to 10 years ago. When I started looking at quitting smoking he said we will try Zyban. He looked at my chart and said nope that won't work you have been on it a while. I ended up on Chantix...evil stuff. Especially mixed with Bupropion. It worked for a few months, but didn't stick. My wife and family nearly ran me off, they were glad when I started smoking again. I quit it the Bupropion a few years ago, but ended up getting back on it recently. Work stress and seasonal anxiety disorder really got me.
  16. I couldn't stand it. I had to get some new stuff. Order 1 came in today: I am using the LEMO 2 right now. It seems ok, with the factory built .5ohm coil, but could use a Tiger Wire upgraded coil.
  17. I agree. I had to coil up a dripper and get my coffee and easter island fix last night. I wicked using some weird cotton I was given. It is an medical grade untreated cotton used for pill bottles. It is strange it looks fluffy like a cotton ball but all the strands run one direction like Japanese cotton. It wicks great all by itself, but using the thinner tails has really made a difference. It probably has made more of an impact in my SubTank mini than it has in the dripper, but it does seem to work great in there too.
  18. With regular round wire I don't torch much anymore. With the tiger wire, I probably should. I can wrap a beautiful coil and first time I pulse it tries to uncoil...lol I have learned to deal with it though. It is worth the effort. I just pulse it, put the screwdriver back through the coil, loosen a screw, pull the wire to tighten it up again, tighten the screw....repeat this a few times until it sets, then pulse and squeeze a few times and we're good to go!
  19. Thanks! That is a great tutorial! I never knew about thining it out like that. I don't plan on rebuilding until the end of the week but I will try it. This is the first RTA I have had that I like. I am thinking about getting a Lemo 2. I had one in my cart last night, along with another Mini and some Ko Gen Do, and I shut my computer off and walked away....lol I am looking for a smaller RTA setup that isn't so big on my RDA30 or Cloupor Mini. I want somtihing about the size of the Nano with an RTA.
  20. I did in my last job. This one is fine with it too, but with all restricted areas I work in, I just can't risk it. When I am working Abilene, Wichita Falls, and the DFW area I carry (no plants and my house is in between so I can go drop it off). I am a really simple guy. I leave the semi-autos at home and carry an SP-101 5 shot .357. I love the little gun and it is point and click. My wife carries the Glock 26 but I would rather her carry the .357. She can't rack the slide very well. She has said she was going to quit carrying it in her car, because it is against company policy to have it in the car. Texas passed SB321 making it legal for all private citizens, who are legal to posess a gun, in a vehicle parked in an employers parking lot. The only problem is he didn't add a provision that they could not fire you... With Texas being an at will state, I don't think the court would be on a gun owners side, employer's rights are above gun owners. I have owned several Tauri, and have had great luck with them. I like you have had many different brands/models. I traded all of my nice stuff off a few years ago and only have the Glock(26), a Sig P226 (9mm) and all other hand guns are Ruger. My Super Black Hawk is the most fun to shoot, and the .357 is the least. I have a P-95 9mm that has been a blast after I did a bit of polishing and filing. Back before I let my work take over all of my free time, I enjoyed shooting them and reloading. I had a S&W (K frame) PPC setup with a bull barrel and some powder puff .38 double end wad cutters in it....that made for a fun afternoon. Now they just collect dust and I am sure my skills are very rusty.
  21. Welcome to Vapor Talk!
  22. I need to do the same. Me and my boss planned on doing it last year, but have never got it done. I used to carry in my vehicle everywhere I go. I don't do it any more. I work in a few different gas plants and can not carry by law. (Federal trumps state in this case) I really wouldn't care about the law, but it would terminate my vendor status with the company. I have to make so many emergency trips, it isn't worth the risk.
  23. That is not my build. I snagged it off a SubTank mini post on another board. When I was using standard wire, I liked 2.5 - 3 mm coil using 28 gauge 7 wraps. This will come in around 1.4 ohms, like this: My Coil I have also had good luck with this one, if you have a regulated mod that can subohm (.8 ohms): My Coil The hard thing is making the coil narrow enough to fit inside the deck without shorting your legs back to the coil. (it will cause a hot spot) I am currently using Tiger Wire made by Comp at Fadora Vapor. It in my opinion delivers the most flavor at lower wattages than any other wire I have used. It can be tempermental to work with, but it is worth it. The coil below is 30 gauge wrapped in .9 flat kanthal. It is 6 wraps on 3mm it come in at 1.4ohms. I am using rayon (not cotton) I have soaked it down and using a couple of small screwdrivers flattened it out and trimed it so that is barely sweeps the top of the deck. It is so tight that it distorted the last wrap on the coil and I couldn't get it back straight. I use the same technique with Japanese organic cotton. It is so tight in the coil that I hold the ends and use a small screwdriver to push the coils back together. (it does not slide) If you notice, the holes are completely uncovered. I am currently vaping this at 25 watts and taking 10+ second drags and it is not running dry. This really isn't how I vape, I am just testing it . I normally run at 20 watts and 5 second drags. I am testing the rayon because my coils were turning black within 3 days and this does not seem to be the case with rayon. I don't know why, but it seems to be lasting much longer. I went a week on the last coil and I bet it could have gone longer.
