Heatvape Mini 50w Mod With Temp. Control
jasonculp replied to Rixter's topic in Share the Latest Vaping Products
OK OK OK...you twisted my arm.....lol I am really wanting one, but have not wanted to spend the money. I want to keep 2 TC mods so I don't have to carry 2 types of coils, tanks, ect for backups. How do you tell the V1 from the V2 online? do they list it? -
Actually, it was really strange. The taste was off. The settings were not the same (where I normally run 30 watts/400 degrees it would never reach 250) I torched the coils before I installed, and then dry burned at 600 degrees before I wicked and it just was off. We are headed to town right now. I will try a new build when I get home. On a side note, the Lemo 2 isn't working good at all. I think the 2 peice base is causing some problems or my build isn't good. It kept adjusting my wattage down very low and showing high temp. It is really weird. I will work on it tonight too. I need to grab another temp control mod to rule out mod troubles. I am back to the SubTank mini with factory .1 Ni200 coils.

That's cool! My wife, while supportive, thinks I spend way too much now! I would love it if she took an interest.

Which Vapor Flask do you have? Authentic or the Clone? If it is the clone, does it have the "Nickel Purity" setting? If so, that is the same chip as mine has. On mine, either you can feel it, or see it. I have had it set properly and stood in front of the mirror and it shows the temp running up and down and the power (watts) moving up and down. Eventually it will say "Temperature Protection" on the screen. When this happens, you can feel/hear it.

I am sorry. I didn't even pay attention. I made it on a 3 mm screwdriver. I will pull it apart tomorrow today and look at it. I wish I had put another wrap or 2 on it.

I vaped the 28Ni200/28Kanthal for a bit, and it was not tasting too good. I made some twisted 28 gauge Ni200. In my Lemo2 with a .07ohm coil, it is working pretty good. So far it is tasting superior to the regular 28 gauge Ni200. Sorry no pics.

It's all good. It isn't the first $80 that I have lost in this hobby and defiantly will not be the last...lol It is kinda sad though, it will go straight to the shelf with the MVP, Cloupor Mini, IPV3 and mechanicals. It may go into my disassembled to reassemble later drawer, with my ipv mini 2, cloupor mini, and istick 20 watt...lol I carry the Vapor Shark and Sigelei mini as backups, and am currently using the Zero as my daily driver... I guess I need to pay some of this forward, but I really am attached to all of them....lol

I am guessing you are correct. I have not heard anything. The web page says shipping in May. They better hurry, or possibly they mean 2016. I wrote them an email. I doubt I will get a reply. If I do, I will try to get them to give me credit on another mod. I really want another Temp Control mod. I am kinda waiting on the new ipv mini.

No. I don't think they are sketchy, but I thought it was a preorder. I am not really happy at how they have handled the preorder I am involved in. I have bought other things from them and had no problem whatsoever. They gave me a chance to cancel in March, and I chose not to cancel it. I think if they gave me the chance, I would cancel it this time, or take the credit and put it toward something else.

Just another tip. That is a Temp control mod, and the tank has a Temp control coil. Always make sure that you have the mod in the correct mode with the correct coil. If you are in Temp control, it won't hurt the normal coil, but if you have the Temp control coil in it in wattage mode, it will fry it very quickly. Please also be careful with this preorder. I am waiting on a mod from them that I preordered on 1/1/15. I have only got one email from them since then. I don't want to discourage you at all, but I personally would go with a iStick 50 watt or an ipv mini V2 with a SubTank Mini. It is a simple setup that is very versatile. You can use the 1.2/1.5 ohm coil and when you want to step it up a bit you can use the .5 ohm coil. Once you learn more, get an ohm meter and some tools, you can start building on the RBA deck.

Just tried this and it works fine. It is 28 gauge Ni200 and 28 gauge Kanthal twisted together. It does change the settings a bit. I can't quite figure out what it is doing yet.

I was thinking that Comp could make some tiger wire with some 28 ga nickel and flat kantal....I don't know if it would work. It takes a bunch of wraps with this stuff...lol
-
I will do it! I only have 4 or 5 kanthal coils and 1 Ni200 I am still vaping. I do miss my Tiger wire. This nickel is a PITA. I am spoiled to the airflow and ease of build on the SubTank mini and don't want to go back to the Lemo 2, but I am missing the top fill and great wicking. I may make some twisted nickel wire tonight and try it in the Lemo. It will take a large build deck to hold that much wire.

These are the ones I am looking at right now: Vapor Shark rDNA (40W Version) $130 Invader Mini 50W $54.99 iPV4 100W Box Mod by Pioneer4You $79.99 YiHi SX Mini M Class $199 The new ipv mini, Evic-VT, and Sigelei 75 watt are all going to be out in the near future.

I am in the same boat as y'all. I was going to really mess with it this past weekend, but life keeps happening. It does seem to take a bit of messing around with. I adjust my mod with every little change. VG/PG ratio makes a big difference and like y'all said airflow. I really love the vape after I get everything set the way I want it, but just filling the tank seems to change things and I have to adjust it again. It is going to be another learning curve. I am also finding that I get better flavor with Kanthal.
-
It is a Zero mod clone. It has the same chip as the Vapor Shark clone, and the Vapor Flask clones. (60 watt) From what I have read the YiHi chips the best of the best on the market. I have not used their TC yet, but have used the DNA40 and I don't see that it is any better than what I have. Mine is a cheap Chinese clone chip. I do think mine is acting better today. I cleaned all of the contacts and adjusted my settings around so that I am happy with it again....for now!

What Sub ohm Nicotine mg Do You Prefer
jasonculp replied to Vapor Guy's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
It depends, normally 3-5 bit rips every half hour or so. When running Kantal on my SubTank mini RTA I use a .75 - 1.0 Tiger Wire coil at 30 watts with the 18mg. The Lemo 2 I use .5 up to 1.2 with the Tiger Wire and it works fine. I don't sit there and vape it constantly. I have driven around 300 miles today and have not used the top half of my tank on the SubTank Mini. I am mostly using the Ni200 Nickel wire/coils right now. I have a factory .1 ohm coil in the other SubTank mini and I am running it at 22.5 watts and 430 degrees. I am trying to cut back a bit on the nicotine. I have my yearly physical coming up the first of next month and I want to get my numbers as good as possible. -

I have not dipped my toe in the water of mixing my own. My pharmacist is a good friend and he used to get me all kinds of weird crap for all of my hobbies. He used to get me lanolin and a few compounds I don't remember for bullet lube back when I used to cast my own bullets. I really like the juice I am using, and don't plan on changing unless Comp quits making it, the Government makes him quit, or I quit vaping. I have toyed with the idea of stocking up on base, but I wanted to sit back and see what shakes out. I am already trying to cut back on my nicotine use (I am studying for a blood test...lol) I have a big physical coming up the first of next month and I want to be as clean as possible for it. I could see me totally quitting if it came down to it. I really enjoy the hobby, but it they make it too hard or expensive, I just will not do it any more. -

What ratio VG/PG are you using? High PG in a dripper can be a bit harsh. I run 80/20 or 90/10 6mg to 9mg in my drippers. I don't run them very often though. I am using 80/20 18mg in my tanks. To totally confess, I have been cutting my 80/20 18mg by about a third with pg lately to get a bit more throat hit and a little less nicotine. -

You are correct. It just blows my mind that a state would go from 0% to 75% in a single jump. It would make no sense. It would drive virtually all of the resources that they could reasonably collect to other states, and in turn create a black market they could in no way regulate. As long as most of the supplies to make ejuice are readily available from any drugstore, hobby supply, and such, why would anyone in those states continue to produce it? Granted it is the government, and they have proven time and again that sometimes they don't understand that if you send the business to other states, or countries you loose all of the taxes. When I quit, mine were just under $50/carton after taxes, but I got 90% from Mexico, or reservation. Vaping is not like smoking though. Vapers build their own mods, mix their own juice, etc. We don't rely on leaf tobacco. My pharmacy keeps nicotine here in my little town, and you don't need a prescription to buy it. -
I think that mine must read quite a bit lower than y'alls. I normally vape a 1.2 ohm kantal coil at 30 watts. It is not as hot as this is at 450. It is jumping all over the place. I think I may need to take it apart and clean all of the contacts. It was taking 450 to be satisfying earlier now it is too hot. My ohms are the same at rest .09 to .1, but every time I pick it up something has changed (not the numbers or settings, just the vape) I am starting to think despite the great reviews, this mod isn't very accurate.
-
I am having a hard time getting used to this Temp control. I cut some juice with PG to thin it out a bit, and cut the nicotine a bit and it is totally reacting differently. I hope my mod is not going south...lol I have to remember the harder draw I pull on it the cooler the temp. If I draw slowly the limiting kicks in and in this mod it is kind of dramatic. It is nearly like it cools it off a bit more than it should. Watching it in the mirror it seems to be doing exactly what it is suppose to, but my tounge is getting a different reading... I may have to spring for an invader mini since you guys seem to be having great luck. I really can't afford it, I need to order juice too... when it rains it pours.

I can see that they could tax the finished product, but there is nearly no way to tax PG, VG, and Flavorings. It would touch too many other industries. Nicotine, they probably could. I don't see what would stop people from making and freely distributing "do it yourself kits...less nicotine" 3 small bottles that could be to make a cake...or whatever. I mean if Michigan and Texas both imposed taxes what would stop Comp from sending me a bottle of flavorings with instructions: add 20ml of VG and 10ml of PG? -

I can't imagine. Surely it isn't a 75% tax. If so...who would do it? -
