I won't laugh at you at all. I think it is a little pricey for cotton, but it looks very easy to use and high quality.

What type build are you doing? I really am enjoying mine, but the flavor is not as good as my Tiger Coils, that is what I am chasing. I was hoping to do a twisted build to try to emulate it a bit. I also think that my lack of patience has a lot to do with me not being good at building these things. I can only get comfortably 7 wraps or so and on my mod and my meter, it is only .1 ohm. I can't stuff enough wire in there for a .15 or .2, but I would be a bit more comfortable with it if I could. I am pleased overall though. IMO none of the current stuff is very feminine. The only thing I can think of is a SubTank Mini with a bell cap? I don't know what type of lady she is, but I have seen a lot of "vape jewelry" on etsy

I did nearly the same thing! I made some 28/28 Ni200 and wrapped it 7 times came up with .06 removed and put of 5 wraps and it measured .06. I then went back to single strand. I am really wanting somthing with the airflow of a SubTank Mini but the build deck size of the Lemo 2. I will see if these new tanks do it this weekend.

It is a pretty good video. I am still building mine like I built it with Tiger Wire (Kanthal). I make mine flipped up instead of down, and 3mm instead of 2mm. Of course my wicking is different. I may build one of these this weekend and see how it works. I have heard good things about the pancake wicking, but it has not worked great for me with high VG. I am going back to 50/50 so it may change everything.

I hope I like it. Rip Trippers gave it a great review, but said they should include the RDA. I went ahead and bought it with the RDA, it is sitting at the post office. I may go get it in a little bit. I ordered the SauseCode too. I am hoping it will be here before the weekend. I want something that will allow a little larger nickel coil than the Subtank. I am also looking for a bit more airflow.

.1 is not an easy target! I settled on the 7 wraps of 28 ga on the 3mm to achieve it. I tried more wraps, but my my leads touched when I tried to secure them under the screws. I am not great at building with this nickel. On my mod, I have seen it ohm out at everything from .13 down to .09. This has definitely been a learning curve!

I really don't like this new editor since the update! it won't let you post links with ampersands and delete videos in quotes...lol When I first started with the SubTank mini, I was having a lot of trouble with the wicking. I read the (at the time) 300 page SubTank mini thread on "brand X's board". One thing I noticed is that everyone was talking about Chunky Wicking. I gave it a try and it has totally changed the use and dependability of my RTAs. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but it really works. I was doing the same as most everyone else and just using enough cotton to have a little resistance and was not happy with the unit. I kept making them tighter and tighter and the vape quality just kept getting better and better. I was using 80/20 and 90/10 with absolutely no dry hits. If you get a chance, or have trouble, give it a try! It has really helped me a lot.

Aspire's new Sub Ohm tank. It does come with an RBA. More info here: Aspire Triton This looks interesting, but I have ordered 2 new Tanks/RTA's this week and I really don't need another. (This week) Project Sub-Ohm SauceCode BXDC Sub-Ohm Tank OBC T-VCT I have really wanted to find a good single coil high airflow tank for nickel builds, and have not been able to find one, now everyone is putting them out!

He was a really interesting person. He never borrowed a penny in his life and ran a self made business worth millions. His business did everything by the books, but he wanted to erase his existence. He was an extreme Christian, I know many people think all Christians are...but he was one of the most over the line guys I have known. At the same time, he was funny and interesting, as long as you didn't go into politics or religion. I see things more along the lines as you. I want the government to back up and stick to the Constitution, but socially I am fairly liberal. I don't think there should be laws governing personal behaviors, as long as it does not infringe on anyone elses' rights. (sex, drugs and rock-n-roll...lol)

Jon I am sorry to hear of your passing you will be missed around here. I can't imagine what you are going through and the amount of red tape required to prove that you are alive. I have heard stories about it, but never experienced it first hand. I had a friend years ago that purposely and somehow legally gave up his social security number. He had sued the IRS after an audit and won. He proved in court that he had been overpaying for 30+ years in his business and that he was targeted because of his extremist beliefs (extreme right wing, anti-govenment, and a dooms day prepper type) A few years later he was amazed at how hard life could be without a social security number, even though (supposedly) it can only legally be used by the government, for social security purposes (at least that was the law back then. He even had a copy of the original law that states it is illegal for any non-government entity to ask for it*, tucked in his wallet) he was extremely successful in his business, and by most standards wealthy. He was killed in a Crop Dusting accident, and his wife had a very hard time collecting his assets, insurance, etc due to the lack of SS number... *it is not illegal to ask, it was legal for you to refuse to provide it

It takes some practice, but after rebuilding a few times you will get the hang of it. The Sub Tank Mini is a great one to start with. It does not have to be drained to rebuild, so all you have to is turn it up like you are changing a standard coil. The way they trap the wires is also one of the easiest. It might be easier to wet your cotton with juice before screwing on the chimney to see where it will lay on the deck and trim it accordingly. Just have fun and be careful and if you have any questions, there are lots of rebuilders on the site that will be more than happy to help you!

I guess I need to report a bug. The actual link is: http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/topic/26221-kanger-sub-mini/?do=findComment&comment=243618The problem is that when I paste it and click ok it changes the ...Comment&comment to ...Comment&comment. I did it twice and got the same result.

Here is a link to the tutorial that DragonGunner did on another post. It is actually on a Lemo, but I use the same principle. I don't thin mine out nearly as much, in fact not half that much. Well, the link will not paste correctly. The software is adding html into the link. Look for the Kanger sub mini post, in this section. It is near the bottom of the first page.

I have done it every way imaginable, but it seems to work the best if I peel off the stiffer top and bottom layers, they are very thin so all I have left is the puffier middle part. I really don't know if it is totally necessary there is just too many variables, but that is how I am doing it now. I have been through about 8 subtank mini rba how-to videos and can't find any good ones!

Sorry! I use a 3mm coiler (coil master) and a 3mm screwdriver to make the coils on. I make 7 wraps. Using the coiler it makes the coil wraps touch each other, this does not work good on a Nickel build. You need a spaced coil. To do this I pull the coil apart and then push it back together again. this causes the wraps to be spaced slightly. I know others use a machine screw to wrap around to make the coils even. On the wicking I use about 9-10mm wide strip of the Japanese cotton and take off the top and bottom layers I then twist the end to get it through the coil. IMO you know you are doing it right if it is nearly impossible to get through the coil, in fact I distort the coil trying to get it through. I come back with a pick and make sure all of my coils are straight and not touching/overlapping. I then use the method that dragongunner posted a while back to thin out the tails. I don't go quite as far as the guy in the video, but I do thin them down some. I then trim the wick at a 45 like in the picture (green line) so that when they fold over they are barely touching the deck. I then screw on the chimney and make sure the wick is not covering the holes with a tiny screwdriver (you can see light if you hold it correctly) It wicks great with 80/20 juice (for me) I will try to find a good video. The picture is not mine, it was stolen off of the web, but someone did a good job making it easy to understand.

I have been running my SubTank Mini RDA for about a week. If I remember correctly I am running a 3mm spaced coil, 28 ga Ni200,with 7 wraps. It metered out at .1 ohm. I am really enjoying it. My mod is different than y'all but my settings are 30 watts at 450 degrees. I guess I should add that I am running Japanese cotton that is very tight through the coils and the tails are thinned out a bit and cut at an angle so that they just brush the deck. (When cutting them I turn my scissors at a 45 degree angle so that when the tail is turned down the ends are perfectly perpendicular to the deck)

I just watched this review and I am really liking it. The review is a bit little slow, but informative. I am on a buying freeze (I just bought a juice and a new tank) or I would have already bought one.

My go to juice or All day vape is from Fadora Vapor. One of our members, Compenstine, is the owner. He has great service and will gladly help you in any way he can. You might find it a bit cheaper in other places, but not with the customization, and personal service of a "Local Mom and Pop" store.

Finally the WIFE has seen the light on me getting this mod!
jasonculp replied to mcVape's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Congrats! Out of all of the tanks I have used, I have come back to the SubTank Mini every time. I am impatiently waiting for the new version (like you are getting with the kit) to hit the market. I am saving up for a Vapor Shark RDNA 40 or a SX mini M Class, and that black tank with the new airflow would look great! -
Question about batteries in series circuit
jasonculp replied to jerryjoe's topic in Variable Voltage & Wattage
I wish I could help more on the math, but my brain is only running at 50% tonight, and I use Steam Engine and Ohms Law Calculator for all my math anymore. I really don't know how you calculate the load on the battery, because if I am reading the specs on the mod correctly it has a max output of 11 volts. It achieves this though the boost circuit. Once you add that in there, my poor math falls apart. You are correct that it is limited and it says it is to 29.8A. So starting at 29.8 amps and .18 ohm limit you can only use 5.364 Volts @ nearly 160 Watts. -
The last one I did, Twisted 30 gauge Kanthal, with 28 gauge Ni200. As many 3 mm spaced wraps as I could get in the SubTank Mini ohmed out at .06. I got pissed off and went back to the factory Ni200 OCC coils....lol

Strange. I have it, and use it, and really like it. I don't get any more updates for it than any other app. I actually use the apple version on my work phone, and I use the mobile site on my android. I am liking it better than the full site in one area, notifications. Admin has some disabled on the main site, but they work on tapatalk.

Temp control, necessity or gimmick?
jasonculp replied to Mplough's topic in Variable Voltage & Wattage
I have not coiled a RDA yet. I just wish my Lemo 2 had more airflow and better connections. The 2 peice base throws my ohms off, and the tight airflow isn't my favorite. It does have a huge build deck though. I really hope someone comes up with a good single coil, high airflow RTA soon. It may be out there, I just have not found it. -
Temp control, necessity or gimmick?
jasonculp replied to Mplough's topic in Variable Voltage & Wattage
When I fist started using the factory Ni200 SubTank Mini coils, it tasted different. I was going from the RBA with a kanthal Tiger Wire coil to a standard spaced nickel coil. It was quite a bit different. I used it for a few days, and wasn't really happy, then all of the sudden it changed. I don't know what changed, possibly the coil broke in, or I learned to get my settings where they need to be, but now I have one of the best flavors that I have achieved with a stock coil. Now if I can just figure out how to stuff a twisted non-contact .1 ohm coil in the RBA, I will be happy! 5 or 6 attempts this weekend, and I gave up. It is always touching something somewhere! -
Temp control, necessity or gimmick?
jasonculp replied to Mplough's topic in Variable Voltage & Wattage
Gimmick? No, it does give you an amount of control that you don't have with a conventional vv/vw mod. Necessity? No, I would not say the quality of vape has increased significantly, especially with nickel wire (hard to work with) and the small number of RBA's that can accommodate a coil large enough achieve the proper resistance. I really miss my Tiger Wire builds in my SubTank Mini... Once I learned to get mine set up correctly and how to set it, I really enjoy the fact that the vape is so consistent from the beginning of the tank, until it is dry. The coils seem to be lasting much longer for me too. I will probably not be making any mod purchases in the near future that do not have the feature.
