  1. It is a great feature. I wish they all did it. The new DNA200 is even a level above updatability. DNA200 data sheet (PDF) It allows full customization. I have only had one that could be updated (ipv3). I really want the ipv mini D2, it can not be updated. YiHi only makes certain boards that can be updated.
  2. I really like the way that looks! 3 attempts ended in failure for me. I also found a major issue with my Sausecode's RBA. The threads to the center post are stripped. I guess I am going to have to get some Herkales Ni200 coils for it. I can't even make a horizontal coil today! I don't know what my problem is today.
  3. I don't have an ipv4. I did do my ipv3 a while back. I found these instructions on another site, but it is the exact same steps as the ones I did on the ipv3. You need a micro USB cable to connect the IPV4 to your computer. 1. New SXi upgrate package (this is the software that will do the upgrade) 2. ipv4 upgrade software for 120w with Ti wire 100J test (this is the file that contains the firmware) 3. Install the SXi Program 4. Open the SXi Program program 5. Turn off your IPV4, remove the batteries, and plug in the USB cord 6. Click the connection icon 7. Click install driver. 8. Install the driver for the IPV4 (should be the only option) 9. Close out of the driver pop up 10.Click connect 11.Click return (the icon at the top center of the window) 12.Click open file 13.Browse to and open the IPV4 update package 14.Click Upgrade Good Luck!
  4. Duke, There really isn't a clear cut answer for your questions. Your juice and vape style dictates the maximum temperature you can run. Some juices like a bit more heat, others taste better cool, of course it all really comes down to personal preference. The amount of air you draw in also will change the settings a bit. An open airy vape will be be cooler so your coil temp may have to be a bit higher to get the proper heat you are used to. The amount of air passing the coil, and how well it wicks will also change the temp. As for PG/VG, I really don't know.... I run the same temp on my 80vg/20pg as I do my 50/50. It is the same flavor though. On 2 of my temp mods it takes quite a bit of tinkering. I set my watts pretty high and my temp pretty low and slowly raise the temp until it gets pretty close. If your mod is constantly going into temp control, start backing off of the watts until it is not hitting the temp control every once and a while. This will insure that when you do a poor wicking or a dry tank, you will not get a nasty dry hit. Just mess with it a while and as you have questions, come back and ask. There are a few of us that have been messing with this stuff and would be happy to help. Since this technology has not been out too long, we are all newbies, of sorts. I am really of the opinion that it is worth the little extra work in the beginning, to get a super consistent vape.
  5. I have PIF all of my KPT's, Aspires, and tanks like that. I think I may need to pick up a Davide or KPT next time I order something. The Goblin with the short glass and chimney is the smallest tank I have....
  6. This is a great idea! I may put a bit of 18mg in my goblin and put in my spares bag. I have had some work related stresses that have been tough to deal with. Cany, don't deal with it like I have been lately and go into a full blown panic attack!
  7. I am just like you. I have quite a few great mods that are sitting because I really like the temp control. I used my VaporShark DNA 30 the other day with a standard coil in the SubTank mini, and it just isn't the same. I have my Velocity with Kanthal build back on my ipv3 sitting by my chair. I really like it on the TC mod, but none of mine are really powerful enough for the velocity. It has so much airflow, it takes a lot of power to make the heat that I like.
  8. To be honest, it is my main mod right now. I have moved all the rest to backup status. I am anxiously awaiting the new ipv mini D2, but until it hits the ground, I think the iStick is my go to.
  9. It says 2600mah. I am assuming it is the same cell that was in the 20 and 30, or half of what you have in the 50's. I have not taken this one apart...yet. It lasts me all day with a bit left over.
  10. I bought one of these on an impulse. I was wanting a good backup to my daily use rig at the time a Zero 60watt TC clone. I charged it up and threw it into my backup bag. When I got to my first sales call of the day on the 13th, my Zero was getting weak. I popped out the battery and grabbed my backup bag...no batteries. I guess I left them in my office at the house...dang it. I used the little iStick the rest of the day and was pleased. I switched back and forth for about a week, and really seem to like the iStick the best out of the two. There have been quite a few improvements over the 30 watt version that I had. The 510 is spring loaded still, but it seems to be a better quality. They repositioned the 510 so that a 22mm mod is flush on all sides. It is also a bit taller. Of course it also has 10 more watts of power. The button also is very solid and has a great feel One thing that make this unique over the other TC mods is the way it works. My other mods you have to adjust wattage to keep it from bumping the temp limit, it makes for a smoother vape. When they regulate it seems to cool off and heat up when temp limiting kicks in. Granted I only have experience with the mods I have, the SnowWolf 50 watt, and the Zero clone. The iStick does temp control, like I thought it would be. It runs a full 40 watts all the time in TC, and you adjust the temp as needed. It transitions very smoothly when regulating, you never feel it in the vape. For a ~$30.00 semi-disposable mod. If you are looking to test the water in temp control without spending much money, this thing is the way to go.
  11. Me too! In fact it is one of the things I enjoy the most, but I am too over cautious, when typing, can't see my stupid face making the comment...lol
  12. It is the problem being the "nice guy" we always get run over (not here). I have my days where my OCD, impatience, and general stress related anger takes over, but it is rare. I am always so scared that my typing does not reflect my sarcasm, or joking demeanor, and one might be offended. That is the last thing I want to do!
  13. To be honest, I really don't have it in me....lol
  14. I saw that too. I had to resist.... I do owe her one for her comment about me not dripping any more....lol
  15. The guy who posted that said exactly the same thing. He said it was one of the best tanks he ever owned, when it works. Juice control can be a mixed blessing. I was just sitting here and my vape got really weak. I didn't realize when I filled the tank, I never opened the juice control. The temp control was limiting the temp, because it had no juice. I have gone back to 50/50 juice to fix my wicking problem, but now when I refill it it floods a bit, so I vape it a bit with the juice control closed. (I am using the SauceCode)
  16. I don't see anything wrong with it. I have made them like that and you do have to watch your wicking to keep it correct. You need more wick going away from the coil, if that makes sense to keep it from flooding. Basically when I did it I cut it at a different angle where one side was much longer that the other. The part directly below the coil was short and it angled to keep it touching the deck all the way across.
  17. I have been following a thread over on "Brand X message board" and this was posted by member drysprocket: I know this does not help, but you are not the only one having trouble. I really want this tank to work, because I want to try out the RBA section!
  18. I will second this! I had been ordering all of my TEMCO wire from amazon. It was really reasonable, but I had to pay shipping (I am not a prime member). I went straight to them, and got it cheaper, and free shipping. It was refreshing!
  19. I watched Busardo's review the day he posted it, and nearly bought one on the spot. Like normal, I went trolling the web in a couple of other (Brand X) forums. I think that most people were having trouble with the factory installed coil. The RDA looks really cool on this. I really like the way the way the wire is captured with one leg going up and one going down. I have seen a guy on reddit that is building vertical coils that look good, but wicking may be a bit of trouble. I think I am going to have trouble finding the "perfect" tank for me. Nickel wire and my preferred vape style makes it difficult. I am looking for a top fill, with a wide build deck, that isn' too tall (for flavor), with good wicking, single coil, big airflow, and a very solid base with good connections. So far it has been elusive, The Project Subohm Saucecode is close, then the SubTank mini, and the OBS-VCT is in a distant third.
  20. Thank you Tam! I have been holding off on this tank due to some less than favorable reviews. I think I may have to pick one up, with an RBA. If I can find one. I was hoping to get the tank, RBA, and an ipv mini D2 all at the same time, to save some shipping. It looks like this will not be possible.
  21. I ended up switching mods that I had it on and cranked it up to 550 at 50 watts and it worked much better!
  22. I have not used the new, larger Coil Master Coiling Kit V3 but I do like the way it looks. I use the small one. Another option is the Artistic Wire Coiling Gizmo(R) Deluxe Winder for Jewelry Making on Amazon. I have heard of people using them, but I have not used one myself.
  23. This is really a hard question to answer. If you had told me a few months ago that my sweet spot would be a 50/50 juice at 9mg nic, at 500 degrees, 40 watts and a .15 ohm coil, I would have called you a liar. I was so happy with a 1.5 ohm coil and 25 watts and 80/20 24mg juice. Who knows, in a month or two I may be back on a KPT 2 mini and an Ego....
  24. I enjoy the heat. It has cooled off a bit today, it is only 90 and 49% RH. It will be back in the upper 90's (96) tomorrow but humidity will be back down to 30%. I really don't like working out in it, but I have to at times, but I love it when I am just sitting out under a tree with a little breeze watching the grandkids play in the water. I just left a birthday party for one of my grand kids. My daughter's house has big trees (rare in our area), and a mister system set up. It was really enjoyable.
  25. I just ran across some interesting information about the -25r batteries. I have read that there are quite a few fakes out there. I have checked all of mine, and the ones I thought might be fake are in fact real. Check it out here: Is it a fake 18650 battery? (Featuring the Samsung 25R) Here is another interesting one: Green Samsung 18650 25R5 vs. Blue 25R2
