  1. I hate to say, 40 watts is just on the edge. I am running between 40 and 45 on my VTC right now. I don't think I need it quite that high, but I like the quick hit before the TC kicks in. I am trying very hard not to spend any more than necessary right now, so I going to have to wait.
  2. This is why I love Temp Control. I have been on this same coil for nearly 2 weeks and the top fill means I don't have to to remove my tanks except to change coils. I was just vaping and surfing and my mod died. I looked up and the tank was totally dry. I turned it upside down and not a single drop ran out. The fact that I can vape a tank until it is completely empty makes the TC worth it alone, not to mention all of the other benefits... Please ignore how dirty my tank looks...
  3. When the original came out I really liked the ergonomic look and, like you, the button. I was just afraid to buy it because I had never heard of them. Since Earthling has got one and really seems to like it, I am tempted. I have the ipv d2 and love it, I also have the eVic VTC mini and it has been great. I really don't need another 75 watt, TC, single battery mod....but I really want it.
  4. If you like the ego one tank, it will work fine with any of the mods mentioned above. I would stay with somthing in the 30 - 75 watt range. I have never used an Ego One, but they seem to have a pretty good setup with a higher ohm, more restricted coil for mouth to lung hits, and a lower ohm coil, with more airflow for straight lung hits. I think it also has nickel coils availible too for temp control, should you choose to go into that. It isn't a drop proof tank though, and I don't know much about rugged tanks. Some vape bands might help protect it a bit.
  5. This is a nice looking new mod. I have been very tempted to buy the 40 watt version after Earthling789's good reviews. I think I may wait for this one. I really like the features. Presa TC75W
  6. Keep us posted. I really, really want to do something like that, as soon as football is over. I got a good lesson at finding all of my series that I watch online, and that works very good. I have been waffling between the HTPC, Tivo OTA, and Roku. So far the Roku looks like the least expensive, and easiest option.
  7. I always recommend the same batteries for anyone staying under 75 watts in a regulated mod: Liion Wholesale - HG2 Illumn - HG2 or Liion Wholesale - 25R Illumn - 25R The -25R's are one of the best, most dependable on the market. They will handle anything the invader can throw at it. The HG2 is a newer battery, that will handle just about as much, but lasts a bit longer. I would recommend you buy 4 batteries, 2 to carry with you at all times, and 2 to charge. As for chargers, I recommend the Nitecore i4 or d4, Efest LUC V4, or Xtar VC4 or VP4.
  8. I totally agree. There is a lot of people complaining about it, but I really don't understand it. If you are a low wattage vapor, you would probably run a higher ohm coil, like a 1.8 or so. I did learn a few things though. With a fairly fresh battery (4.12V) it was putting 3.94V to the coil at 7 watts. So the board is effectively ~95% efficient at that voltage, which is pretty impressive. (This may not be correct, to test it right I need to check battery voltage at the same time as the output voltage.) If you run a 1.8 ohm coil it will only be putting out around 8 watts which should be low enough for just about anyone. I also learned that 1 J (on a Yihi chip) = 1 watt. I do understand that this is not what true Joules are, but that is what the read out is saying. I made a Kanthal .8 ohm coil. Put it in Joules (TC) mode turned the temp up to 575, and locked the resistance in. I then turned it down to 10J. When I fired it, it applied only 2.83V to the coil, which is 10 watts calculated. So the workaround does work. All the nerdy stuff aside, I still feel like it is one of the best single 18650 mods out there. I have had excellent luck with the ipv series and think it would be a great step up from an Istick. I really like my VTC mini, it has a great screen and all kinds of options, but it has some little glitches that makes it hard for me to recommend it to a beginner.
  9. I have not tested it myself. I never run under 40 watts..lol. There is a huge thread over on another board that says it does not step down in wattage mode. It will step down in TC mode. People are getting it to step down by tricking it to run in TC mode with Kantal (It does not control temp, but it allows it to step down) This may have been changed when they updated the firmware a few months ago. Mine is an original with V2.0 firmware, the newer ones are V3.0, if I recall correctly. I will check it out tonight after work, if I have a chance.
  10. I really like the D2 myself. I also have the Sigelei mini too. The D2 is much more comfortable in your hand, and it also gives you a lot of room to grow. 75 watts, plus the possibility of Temp Control. The only down side to the D2 is you it does not have step down. There is a workaround, but if you are running it in wattage mode it will not put out less than battery voltage. This may not be a problem if you are using a higher ohm atomizer. I have no experience with the Disruptor, but Innoken has always built good products. If you do go with a mod that uses an 18650 please buy your battery from a reputable dealer, and buy a name brand. Here are a few good choices: Liion Wholesale - HG2 Illumn - HG2 or Liion Wholesale - 25R Illumn - 25R
  11. I am still looking at it myself. The only hangup is Fox Sports Network. I can actually get by other than missing my football. It is only 1 team, and once a week. I would pay $10 - $20/game if I could order it on ppv. Even at 12 - 15 games it is only $300 compared to $2400/year. The download/streaming has allowed me to up with a lot of stuff, that isn't on my DVR. If I lower my package ANY on directv, I loose my games...I wish they would pass the a-la-cart congress was talking about. I am also looking at the Roku, or possibly Tivo OTA. I have also considered OpenELEC or even Kodi on a HTPC. I have just been so busy at work, Television hasn't been top priority, except for the games on Saturday.
  12. I have been trying to make the switch for quite a while now. I had decided to go with Kodi. I built HTPC a long time ago, using XMBC (kodi, before it was kodi), and loved it. I just couldn't get the family to adopt it. Back then it took 3 remotes and none of them talked together. Now days you can control the whole thing from your smart phone. I have been tinking about going back to it, I just have not wanted to spend the money. (of course I am spending nearly $200/month on DirectTV)
  13. I am not saving tons, but I am saving. I keep getting shinyitus and it really kills the savings. Looking at the totals i have saved, I have not spent nearly that much on vape equipment or juice. I guess it is getting absorbed into the general budget.
  14. I forgot stew... it is one of my favorites!
  15. Hang on to your hat! If you have a mod with enough power, it will perform with many drippers. Have fun!
  16. Coconut shrimp toinght. It was good, but I am really craving cold weather foods. I may have to dig around an whip up some Taco Soup, Potato Soup, Chili, or something similar.
  17. What Comp said is the first thing I would try. Close down the airflow quite a bit. Next Cany was asking about the VG/PG ratio of your juice. The higher the PG the more throat hit you will get, the higher the VG the more vapor you will get. One problem you may run into, is the Crown is designed to be run at higher wattages. 30 watts may not be enough for it. I run a similar tank at 40 watts with 80VG/20PG. I also had to reduce my nicotine level from 18mg/ml to 8mg/ml.

Another tip is to turn it on it's side so that the fill hole if pointed towards the ceiling. The tank should be parallel to the floor. That coupled with the closed AFC, you shouldn't have any trouble.
  19. Here is my review of the Cthulhu RTA v2. This is how it came in. Pretty good packaging with an extra Delrin drip tip, frosted glass, and tools/o-rings. This is the tank section. L to R: drip tip, top fill cap, top cap, glass, bottom/chimney. It can be disassembled nearly completely for cleaning. The tank section assembled. This is the top of the build decks. It comes with both single coil, and dual coil decks. This is the bottom of the build decks. The one on the left is the dual coil, and if the pictures were clearer, you can see it has very large airflow. The single coil has 4 smaller holes, that lead up to the hole below the coil. It is a bit more restricted than the dual coil deck This is the base section. The piece on the left is the airflow control and the positive pin. It is adjustible and the system works very good. The middle piece is the juice control. The ring to the right is what you turn to move the ring up and down. It could us a bit more knurling, it is pretty slick. This is the base section and the build deck assembled. This has the juice control fully open (see the nearly invisible arrow). As you twist the ring the juice control moves up to contact the bottom of the tank to stop the flow of juice. Here the juice control is closed. Here it is coiled, and wicked poorly, but ready to go. Notice the ring to hold the wicks in place. This allows you to assemble and disassemble the tank without messing up the wicks. It is a great idea, but a bit hard to get on and off. So far it has been leak free for me and seems to wick very well. I am running a 3mm 28ga Ni200 coil on it at .16 ohms. Ready to vape on my Joyetech eVic VTC Mini. So far they have been a really good team. I really like this tank. It has a lot of pieces. It is not a simple tank. The machine work is not perfect on it, but it works well. I don't use the juice control, I just leave it wide open. I have only tested the dual coil deck, and it seems to work good. The single coil deck works great. It is a lot like a larger SubTank Mini deck. I have been running it in temp control mode for 2 weeks and have not had a minutes trouble. My coil looked terrible after 2 weeks, but I think this is more of a fault of the eVic mini, not the tank. It seems like the temp control is not working really accurate with the mini. I have to run it hotter than my other TC mods to get the same vape, but there are times where it seems to get too hot. I have it updated to the latest firmware, but it looks like they need another update. Overall I really like this tank. It is my all day every day tank at the moment. It has good flavor, and good airflow. The only downsides to this tank (at least mine) is the poor machining and the complex design. The machining doesn't bother me on any part but the top fill. It is a bit hard to get on and off. All of the separate pieces gives quite a few points of failure, but so far none have.

I think that was what I was looking for. I thought you had posted a link to it. I was just thinking of the wrong food... Hungry I guess! Right now the Cthulhu 2 is my go to tank. I have not built it enough to get it to smooth up. I do like it. The top fill threads on mine are terrible, but usable. It is a bit more complicated than many other RTA's, but it has so many options. The Velocity style dual coil, two post deck it great. (I just don't use it) I didn't even realize the Uwell Crown had an RBA. I may look into this. I was thinking about the TFV4 mini, but I have not really used the full size one that much. It is a good tank, just more than I need (with the factory coils)

I understand. I do too. I am close to 2 weeks in with the coil I built. I am going to try to take it apart, recoil it, and take pictures. It just has too many pieces, juice ring, wick ring...and on and on. Too many points of failure, and it is also poorly machined. It has a lot of good features, just too complicated.

I am planning a full review of the Cthulhu 2 and Evic VTC mini soon. Short version, is I don't recommend the Cthulhu 2. It requires quite a bit of tinkering to make it work good. When it is setup right, it is great, but when it isn't, you will pull your hair out.

I have tried to find the post and I can't find it. There is a post where someone posted a link of the pancake head screws so you can trap the wires on top of the deck instead of running them through the holes. I never had much trouble with it, but some people like it better trapping them on top. This is one reason I am liking the Cthulhu 2 right now. The flavor is not quite as good as the Lemo 2, but it is working great in TC. It only slightly has a bit more airflow than the Lemo 2. The deck is also much smaller on the Cthulhu. I really like a single coil mod for TC. Dual coils just are too much for a tank (for me).

I really like mine. I just don't use it any more. Once you learn to build it, it is one of the best RTA's I have owned. I wish it had a bit more airflow. The top fill is great if you have the right bottles (the ones with the skinny tip). I don't really recommend the Lemo 2 for temp control. The 2 piece base causes a bit of trouble if the connections are not perfect. It is a shame that it has this issue, because the build deck is huge and you can make some awesome single coils on it.
  25. You know me, I only use one juice (mostly). 10ml, tank and temp control, looks very promising. For me it would really depend on the airflow. My original mini was a bit restrictive. The new one might work better. I like a nearly unrestricted airflow.
