Anyone use Roku with Sling Here?
iQuit replied to Compenstine's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
I forget which one I tried. It might have been Kore, but I got a dedicated remote instead - Rii i8+. Phone/tablet apps are great, but it can be annoying if you're busy using them for other more important things and need the remote app at the same time. -
Anyone use Roku with Sling Here?
iQuit replied to Compenstine's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
That's a bummer. But at least that is one less thing to buy later on. I was an early adopter when HDTV first came out, and regretted it later. It was a year and half later when HD content became mainstream. Kodi works with other Android or Windows media boxes just like MiniX devices. I first used Kodi with my gaming rig, and my wife hated the clutter in the living room too. haha She loves the small form factor of a minix device, and it is more efficient with power too. -
Anyone use Roku with Sling Here?
iQuit replied to Compenstine's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
Just saw a 50% off offer on Roku 3 with a new sling account. I think that is a better deal. There aren't that many 4k content yet to take advantage of it. By the time it becomes a media standard, there will be newer and cheaper gear. -
Lucky you. Didn't you win another gear from another contest?

Is that a DIY kit, cany? Very cool.

Anyone use Roku with Sling Here?
iQuit replied to Compenstine's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
I used sling in the past on Roku 3 and was great experience as it eased my transition into cord cutting. But I ditched it when a friend showed me Kodi. Kodi does not work on Roku devices, as far as I know. Currently using diy htpc, MiniX Neo Z64W , and R3. I mainly use Amazon Prime and Kodi, but alternate every year between Netflix and Hulu Plus too. -
My new Uwell Crown seems to airy..is it me or watts?
iQuit replied to DeWayne's topic in New Vapers Forum
Uwell Crown is a high wattage sub-ohm tank. 30W is not enough for 316L SS dual coil on that tank. If you got the optional RBA deck, 30W is maybe okay for single coil builds. As far as being airy, adjust the airflow like others' have suggested. -
So, I Just Bought Tickets to Florida....

Nice review and pics, Jason!

I always close the AFC before filling it up after some leaking when I forgot to do it the first time around. I think someone on another board may have used pancake screws, and it may be better suited for wrapping leads with it's larger head. The dual-coil deck is all I have been using at the moment on Cthulhu v2, and it is also been my go to RTA. Uwell decided to sell their RBA separately just like Aspire did to Triton. I hope this is not going to be a trend in the future for other manufacturers. The Crown RBA is in between STM deck and TFV4 deck, size wise. But if you already have the Cthulhu 2, you may not like it as much since you will probably not see any improvement in flavor and vapor. Building and ease of topfilling it are the only advantages of Crown over C2.

I use the cheese head screws as replacement of provided stock screws, but the pancake may be better. For Ni coil builds on lemo-type decks, I find that wrapping the leads around the screw head gives much more stable resistance compared to threading the leads; kanthal builds makes no difference. I loved mine but, just like jason, it was a bit restrictive on airflow for me too. Cthulhu 2 is actually a very solid RTA. The machining is rough but once you break it in, threads get smoother. When I first got it, it was on my top 5 RTAs. Now it is in my top 2 after playing with it awhile. Uwell Crown RBA is, in my opinion, one of the biggest and easiest RBAs decks to work with that does not have a lemo-type deck

Did you get a Cease and Desist letter from the author or his/her lawyer? If so, your best bet is to consult a lawyer who specializes in IP law

Yeah... the lengths we go through in search of that "perfect" tank. I think I mentioned to you before I was skipping the first 2 batches, and I went against my own advise. LMAO I'll start with the cons... Crunchy threading - when I screwed the deck onto the tank, I thought my coils were hitting the chimney because I cannot screw it in. I went from 3.0 ID down to 2.0 ID using 22g through 28g K1 before realizing it was the crunchy threading.Juice Flow Control - I ditched it. One less moving part to deal with, and I like mine wide open anyway. It works, but if this tank had the raised knurling similar to Uwell Crown, then it would have been golden for those wanting to tweak juice flow. Although this feature helps with leaking during top filling it, I just turn the atty upside down before opening up the AFC.Top Fill - hard to open and due to lack of knurling, and crunchy threads.Pros: Flavor does seem much better in both single and dual coil decks, but I am using new juice at the moment and have not tried other proven flavors yet on this tank. But others do report better flavor with this tank too.I am sure I'll find more pros as I play with this tank some more, and I did not want to recite features already listed in ads. I like vertical builds on this tank though. Wicking it is PITA but worth it for me. Pic shows a 3mm ID 24G K1 but I settled with 2mm 27G before I realized the threading on mine is janky. TFV4 Mini might be a good tank. I am curious about the clapton RBA deck, and hope it is interchangeable with TFV4

Drones are really fun. Been playing with my nephew's for over a month. But I really do not want to go into another hobby. On the other hand, it would be so cool to check for vape mail. I am the same way. That is why I do not want to get into it. At least not yet. I'll wait until 2nd gen lipo mods... if I am still into vaping then. Squid said LUC V4 does 1A on all 4 slots. Maybe a better option for you with your limited time?
-
You know what they say, time is money. So it may be worth it to you since you may be using it for Lipos. I did go looking for one since I am getting Whiteout DNA, but after seeing the prices for those chargers, I decided to wait on it, and borrow my nephew's insterad since he is heavily vested in drones. If I end up not liking the DNA200, I can sell it quickly and not get stuck with a charger. I am still on fence on Lipos. I know current mods are limited with Li-ion, and Lipos are the next step forward. But I have way too much '650s. I am tempted to play with drones though. haha And that is what I will end up doing once I get a charger. So I am holding back on it for as long as I can. lol

Efest has 6-bay charger - LUC BLU6. That may work best for your needs and time constraint. Although, I do remember (if I recall correctly) that it has a max 4A charging, but it does 2 slots @ 2A. But getting 2 i4's may be cheaper I like XTAR personally. I use VP4, and VC4 (pulls double duty for my eneloop cells)

I stalk mooch's and bad's posts over there. I would not know where to begin testing nor do I have the desire to invest in scopes and such. But I have utmost respect for those who do independent testing and share their findings within the community. I know what you mean. Searching for RTA suitable for TC and easy to build on can be a little OCD. :P I streamlined my RTAs, and limiting it to TFV4 (stay at home) and Uwell Crown. The rest I pif'd or sold. I am well past 2nd week on stock Ni coil on Crown. I agree, TFV4 needs higher wattage mod, especially when using triple and quad coils. Single RBA is ok with D2. I have not yet tried their dual TC coils but they are on the way. If they last as long as the triple and quad, then I would not mind stocking their coils when they go on sale. They're handy when traveling or simply too lazy to build.
-
You cancelled Cthulhu v2? Surprisingly I am still on my quarterly "allowed" budget, but my DIY and battery purchases for re-stocking put me over the top. But that does not count since those last me a long, long time. That's all right, she got her shoes. haha Great to have you doing battery testing. We'll have our own in-house expert soon.

glad you got it sorted out. if you do give it high marks, pm jason. that way i'm not tempted. i'm already in hot water with the wifey. i should be banned from browsing webstores.... and they should make pre-sale outlawed. lol

What setup do i need for Cloud competitions?
iQuit replied to JoeyForte's topic in General Vaping Discussion
It is probably a good idea to watch cloud comps a couple of times first before competing. I would recommend an organizer of such event who successfully done this before without any incidentshave safety protocols throughout the event (prior, during and well after the event)venue has no ordinance banning vaping (i heard some organizers do not check or try to circumvent it)please do not vape in non-designated areas (hallways, lobby, parking lot, etc)These are the things I would look for if I were to seriously contemplate cloud comp. On a funny note, check out Professional Vaper mod. lol It gets interesting @ 2;00 -
Vape for life? When is it time to give it up?
iQuit replied to Mike's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I have only been vaping around 18 mos. Well, less than that if I count the 3-4 mos that I quit vaping. For me there were no preparation letting go of vaping. I just woke up one morning and left my gear at home, and continued doing it for a week before deciding to PIF all my gear away. Maybe it was my nic level that made it easier. I was at 0-3 mg, but started around 18mg, and was a 2PAD smoker for 25+ years. Obviously it is difficult since I am back vaping. I made no conscious effort of going back to vaping too. Just ordered new gear one day because I know it wouldn't be long before I'd pick up a pack of stinkies.... and actually light one up. At least now I know I can quit vaping altogether, and with careful planning like keeping a couple of back-ups for emergencies, I can most likely stay off of it much longer. But at the moment, I am enjoying newer gear, and when the novelty wears off, or when it is no longer fun, I might do it again. -
I guess I should be throwing out TFA testing as my barometer for DIY, and anyone who uses them for their juices. How do I know they are truthful, valid form of testing, etc. Kidding aside, I am more concerned about coming taxes, and licensing fees imposed on anyone selling vape related products. Who knows, some of the favorite places I buy from may not be in business for long. I accept some level of diketone exposure. But nice to know there are places that are dike free (if true), or show how much they have in it. So I can choose when and how much to indulge. just like how I watch what eat, but pig out once in awhile.

lol, yeeah. I tried 100+ and I nearly chocked. I guess I am a sissy. 75-80W is my sweet spot for triple, 80-90W for quad, 35-40 on RBA1 (vertical), and 60W on RBA2 standard build
