  1. Again thank you guys. I have the mini Aerotank, the mini davide and a mini Aspire BDC glass tank coming for my ego style batteries. So far just the Aerotank for the APV. I guess I'll see how that one works then go from there. I re-read a post about what I ordered last night and saw I typed that I ordered 300 ml's of juice. I meant to type 200 ml's but I went back to my order confirmations and calculated it at 150ml's. That's a good chunk of juice to test. I'm concerned that I'm not sure about the logistics of that many flavors with 5 tanks. If I want to change flavors, say to test the next flavor or because the one in the tank is something I don't like, what is the procedure for "resetting" the tank??? Dump the juice, wash the tank, switch the coil and refill and vape? Or do I have to let the tank dry? Can I wash a coil that only has minimal use (say 20 hits off one juice) and reuse it?
  2. Thanks for the help both of you. I'm really enjoying this forum. Lots of answers and understanding for the new people who are trying to do things the right way from square one.
  3. Thanks Tam. Kinda what I figured but I'm all about asking when it comes to face melting or eyeball destruction.
  4. Hey everybody. Hope you folks are having a good evening. I've been thinking about tanks.Let's say I want to buy a tank for my Sigelei ZMAX 5 and I want it to be roughly the same diameter as the APV. Now lets say I'm looking at Kanger tanks. I can pick from The Aerotank, The Aerotank Mega, The Protank, The Protank II, The Protank III and The UniTank. Here's my question....since the Aerotank is the latest and greatest from Kanger does that make the other tanks, not so much obsolete, but choices that aren't as good? What I mean to say is why buy a Protank II when I can buy an Aerotank? Is it just a price thing or do all these tanks have their advantages and disadvantages? If I have to I'll buy every tank Kanger and Aspire and Innokin have to offer. And if I have to buy all these tanks and try each one to see how I like them, then I will. But I'd rather not spend the time and money if it's just a matter of buying the newest badass tank from each of the various tank makers. I'm taking Tam's advice and not trying to rush too quickly into rebuilable tanks. Believe me I want to know how to rebuild tanks and I want to know RIGHT NOW. But that's the pain about being patient and taking other peoples advice (at least for me)...it usually goes against my nature.
  5. I have a Sigelei ZMAX 5 on the way. I've read the thread here about the way VV/VW devices work. I understand that once I find my "sweet spot" with my wattage (the ZMAX 5 ranges between 3 and 15 watts) that the unit will automatically adjust for the proper voltage corresponding to the resistance (ohms) of my coil. My plan was to attach my nautilus tank with 1.6 ohm bdc and start with 3 watts and work my way upwards until I find that spot. I've also conferred with the chart that twelveday posted back in February 2012 and, if I'm reading it correctly, it is telling me that anything over 8 watts may start melting stuff. That doesn't sound good. My head is telling me they wouldn't sell a unit that went to 15 watts with a tank utilizing 1.6 ohm coils if it was going to kill somebody. But I honestly don't know. So I'm asking.....Am I going to hurt myself or my device cranking it past 8 watts with 1.6 ohm coils (nautilus bdc coils in a nautilus tank).
  6. Give it til 2016, it's supposed to pick up then. I'm trying to get myself into Fletcher Technical (Houma) for deep water petroleum technologies. Supposed to explode once Obama is out.
  7. There's no vaping community here, there's a head shop that sells some ego kits and kanger stuff but it hasn't taken off, and no real vape shops. Lafayette has one and my girlfriend found one in the mall in Lake Charles and bought me some space jam juice. Lafayette has four that I know of. The one I go to by my house is so-so. There's one downtown on Jefferson that's okay but I feel like I'm buying something illegal everytime I go in there, the atmosphere is kinda shady. There's one on Kali Saloom and anothe on Johnston - haven't been to either. Though the juice I'm using now is from them. I keep checking the sub-forum on gatherings hoping to see something pop up around here. I wish I could go to Miami next weekend, I'll be home. I just found out about it though and I'm not really prepared to go, though it sounds awesome.
  8. I just ordered an aerotank, aerotank mini and a davide mini. Don't have them in my possession yet. Did you put the mini aerotank airflow ring on the davide mini or the airflow ring from the regular aerotank? Second question, isn't everything above the bottom ring on the aerotank and the davide pretty much the same or does adding the airflow to the davide mini make an already better tank even better? I just re-read that and you added it to the kanger protank....sorry. Still my question stands....would adding the airflow ring from the aerotank mini to the davide mini make it better or can you only add the airflow ring from the aerotank to other Kanger tanks?
  9. I tried with internet explorer and it's doing the same thing. I enter the website and I log in. It brings up my account and I make my order. When I click on the checkout button it brings me back to the login page. It's an endless loop.
  10. Awesome. I'm actually in the gulf of mexico right now but the 6 months a year I'm on land I reside in Lafayette. How's things in (I know how to say it but not how to spell it???) Alec? Elic?(that's the way it would be spelled phonetically) What the vaping community like where you are?
  11. I've been emailing with KC. He told me about the problem. I have Internet explorer installed on this PC. I'll try that later.
  12. Okay got the rest of the stuff ordered. I got: (1) 1300 mah vision spinner (1) 1600 mah vision spinner II (1) mini davide (1) mini aerotank (1) aerotank (regular not mega) (1) lanyard for the 1300 spinner Got extra low resistance coils for everything And about 300ml of juice from sweet-vapes, vapedudes and TVR Was trying to order from Fadora but their website wouldn't let me complete my order....very strange. Waz gonna get some from Fuzion but couldn't find anything on their website that indicated what pg/vg ratio they use.
  13. Thanks Charlie. Searching for juice now. A lot of people recommend Fadora so that's where I am now. bcarter is always talking about Fuzion endless summer so I might try that too. I read an interesting post about ecblends today. their site is very......hhmmmm....big. a lot of choices. I like the vapor rooms 10 flavor sampler might try that too. I'm open to more suggestions.
  14. Found a site and some nice, helpful people in Mesa AZ. Took Tam's advice and slowed it down a notch (i.e. decided against the mechanical mod for right now). This is what I bought earlier today http://www.kidneypuncher.com/vision-spinner-v2/ http://www.kidneypuncher.com/sigelei-stainless-steel-zmax-v5/ http://www.kidneypuncher.com/haka-twist-vv-ego-battery/ http://www.kidneypuncher.com/xtar-wp2ii-intelligent-charger/2 http://www.kidneypuncher.com/corded-ego-charger/ http://www.kidneypuncher.com/aspire-nautilus/ http://www.kidneypuncher.com/aspire-bdc-glass-et-s/ http://www.kidneypuncher.com/aspire-nautilus-coil-heads-5pk/ http://www.kidneypuncher.com/aspire-bdc-atomizer-heads-5-pack/ http://www.kidneypuncher.com/samsung-inr18650-25r-2500mah/ They were out of stock on the mini davide and the mini aerotank so I'm gonna get those somewhere else. Probably get full size aerotank too. Missy, who I spoke to for about 45 min earlier today said the Haka twist batteries, although only 1500 mah, are built sturdier than the vision and the word from customers is that they are lasting a long time. Similarly the samsung batteries are getting better reviews from her customers than the AW's so I gave them a try too. Gonna go look for some different tanks and get the ball rolling on some juice. I'll let you guys know when I get some more stuff!!!
  15. Good to know bebop. I kinda figured that was the case.
  16. Anybody do business with World of Vape? They have the Aspire Nautilus for $25. Somebody once told me if it seems to good to be true it usually is. It's a shame we have to deal with knockoffs but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
  17. Right. I definitely draw a little longer going straight to the lungs. Obviously, like you said, the lungs have a higher capacity than the mouth. But if I do the mouth then inhale thing on 3.0 I don't produce any noticeable vapor. I don't know...I only mention it because it's a curiosity. I'm also wondering if one technique is worse or better. It seems to me that vaping on a lower voltage and achieving the same or better results is the way to go, right. I mean the lower the voltage one uses the longer your coil will last right?
  18. I tried a different inhaling technique today. I had tried it before with no success. When I was smoking analogs I would inhale into my mouth, wait a split second then take the smoke into my lungs. From the beginning of my switch to vapor, especially when I was vaping tobacco flavors, I used the same technique. From time to time I would try to inhale straight, without the pause. Never had any luck til today. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea why? I'm using my eGo-V vv 650mah with kanger MT3. When I do the inhale into mouth/pause thing I usually run it around 4.5v-5.5v. The resistance on my single coil is 2.2 ohms. I get an okay cloud, nothing to write home about. But since I've been doing this straight inhale thing, I have to lower the voltage to 3.0/3.1/3.2. Keep in mind also that I have switched juice too. I've been using halo tribecca and an assortment of dragon mist flavors for weeks now. All have tobacco flavor in the mix. All are 80%pg/20%vg. All are 24mg nic. The one I switched to is 70%pg/30%vg, 10mg nic, with no tobacco flavor. It is a light menthol. When I vape with the pause on 3.0-3.2 I can't even see anything come out of my mouth when I blow out. When I vape without the pause I get a cloud that is bigger than when I vape with the pause on 5.0. What the ****????? Does this make sense to anybody? How do you guys inhale when you vape?
  19. Just checked out sweet-vapes. I see what your saying...they have all the colors. was gonna go with one stainless and try it out. I know everyone (well, mostly everyone) is saying these are their go-to's, their workhorses, etc. I'm not saying they're not I just think that getting one of these and one mechanical (sigelei 24) and one innokin MVP is enough for right now. I plan on testing them with the roughly 200ml's of juice I have coming. With a mini davide for the spinner and a nautilus for the sigelei (the MVP comes with an iClear tank) I should be able to rate the vapes against each other. If the spinner stacks up I'll get a few more. I'm just finding it hard to believe a little ego style is gonna match vapor production of the mechanical mod or the innokin.
  20. Just curious....where do you guys get your spinners from? I was gonna buy mine from http://www.theveteranvaper.com I think Tam gave me the link...or maybe it was someone else. Anyway, I'm a little more concerned about quality non-knockoff product with excellent customer service than saving a dollar or two. But if you know of a reputable site that are selling these Vision II's for a steal, hey, I'm not opposed to saving some green.
  21. I changed my mind on the mechanical. I found a nice Sigelei at kidney punch. That is where I'm going for my batteries and charger anyway. They carry traceable AW's (I read the thread about fake AW's from 88evape) and from what I've read they are top shelf. Twice the cost of comparable eFest. Also getting a good charger for the 18650 and an eGo charger for the Vision Spinner II 1600 mah (as per your advice). I'm getting the mini davide for the vision and a Aspire Nautilus for the mechanical. I was going to go with a Innokin SVD or perhaps an iTaste 134 or 134 mini or Vamo 5 but then I'd need another 18650 battery, a bigger charger (the one I was looking at only charges one battery at a time) and another tank. was thinking about the regular davide or the iClear30s (I like the idea of 16 wicks). But the MVP 2.0 comes with all of that for $42 shipped from 101 vape. I figured, like you said, I could take it slow and learn as I go. No need to get most expensive, fanciest mod just 'cause. I've heard some good things about Sigelei and Innokin MVP's (I like the fact that I can charge my phone through it if necessary) But who knows, all of that could change by tomorrow. I've read that the Nautilus and the Davide were the two best Tanks but the Mechanical and AVP are up in the air. My mind changes almost daily. I think I just need to buy something, you know, start somewhere and sort of go from there. I've got juice picked out from Mt. baker, Fadora and TVR. Was going to order a little over 100ml from them. Then I was gonna pick one or two more juice vendors and hopefully have it all waiting for me when I walk in my front door.
  22. I started the same way too. Using ego style setup right now but moving up to either an APV or mechanical mod in a week or so. Been off analogs for a month now. Glad your here.
  23. awesome. I've got a lot of input on juice. I can understand that the reaction from juice to juice will vary from person to person. It is a very subjective matter. So far I've tried four brands of e juice and to be honest I believe one of the four is worthwhile...and then only one of the flavors from their repertoire . I understand there are a lot of other brands and flavors out there with sub-variations depending on nic levels, pg/vg ratios and quality of other ingredients. The seemingly unending vastness of this undertaking I have embarked upon is revealing itself to me more every day. What I thought was a logical switch from burnt plants to water (et al) vapor is quickly becoming a hobby and the entirely real possibility of a mild obsession is not completely out of the question. To put it another way....I'm stoked about all this new #@$#@%! I'm seriously thinking of taking tameiki's suggestion and getting a vision spinner for my out and about workhorse - probably with a mini davide....do they make a mini nautilus? Then I think I'll get a low end APV like an innokin SVD and a mechanical mod - probably the segelei #24. Both with the aspire nautilus tank. I'm hearing good things about that sucker.
