  1. Welcome! The Kanger starter rocks, and will serve you well while you get the hang of things and decide where you want to go with vaping (keeping it simple or full-on hobby). Your starter has two tanks and two batteries... the only recommendation I would make is to pick up another tank or two and a 5-pack of replacement coils in 1.5 or 1.8 Ohm resistance... that's the sweet-spot for the standard batteries, and I think you'll be pleased! Good luck, and feel free to ask questions!!
  2. "Liqua" by Ritchie is the "Original Smoke Juice"... not sure if they're the same since one is "Juice" and the other is "Liquid"... but Ritchie has been around for decades as a flavoring company and food products supplier.
  3. I have two Russian 91% and a Magma... Yes the flavor and vapor from the Magma are VERY good, but the Russians are also quite good with flavor and vapor, but I care less about vapor anyway. A couple of my flavors taste like garbage from an RBA/RDA, but are wonderful in an AeroTank or KPT2. For this reason, I'll continue to use RDA (mostly at home), RTA (home and travel), and clearomizers (when size matters, and for traveling where I don't want expensive equipment damaged/stolen).... Both of my Russians leaked on the first or second fill, but each have a "personality" and after rebuilding and figuring out that I needed a bit less wick and a bit more air-flow, they work FAR better now, even when moving from A/C to 100-deg heat @ 90% humidity. So far, I've only had my newest one dribble a few drops from the air-flow port after the initial leakage issue, and I'm sure I over-filled it that time!
  4. HCigar makes excellent clones, and their Nemesis is really good. I want their Kraken, but don't have one yet. I do agree with Charles, perhaps a Kayfun or Russian 91% would be easier for a beginner than a Genesis-style tank? Really though, it's up to you and your confidence level
  5. Jason is correct... Ohm's Law does not change... The variables are in your build, Voltage drops across the MOD or tank/RBA/RDA, battery, coil, juice, air-flow, etc., etc.... Using a Mech MOD also means you determine your Wattage and Amps based on the resistance of the coil, and the Voltage of the battery at peak (4.2V) as it drops from use will create a decline in the Wattage as well. This is why Variable Voltage/Wattage devices are popular, as they regulate the Voltage or Wattage, regardless of the variable of coil resistance (and also add in low/high limits for operational safety).
  6. Your ELeaf is probably very accurate, the MVP, not so much. I've compared coils on my Fluke DMM, Eleaf (just bought), no-name meter, and MVP, and get something different on all of them, but the MVP is usually the one farthest from the other three. The Fluke and 510 meters are usually pretty close, although I will admit I've not measured any coils below 0.8 yet. Most meters are +/- 4 or 5%, so some variance is expected. Watts are not that far off in your example, but Amps are what you should be more concerned about... lower resistance is higher amps, and you have to make sure your battery can handle those Amp loads.... 8.6A and 9.7A respectively. If you're battery is only a 10A battery... the lower resistance is really pushing the limits.
  7. A word of caution on eBay... I've bought a few things from there, and quite frequently what are sold as "genuine" are clones or knock-offs which are mis-represented. There are reputable sellers, though. While some clones are as good as the genuine article, be careful of what you're buying... look for tale-tell signs in the wording such as "like" or verbiage that lists one item as multiple descriptions. Read the sellers reviews carefully, even the positive ones. eBay is buyer-beware, and if the deal sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
  8. That's what I paid for mine at the local vape-shop back in May, but they were on sale from the original mark-up price of $59. $40 from a reputable online retailer is probably the best I've seen too!
  9. Interesting idea, but I'd say in Taxachusetts, you'll have a lot of red-tape, permits, fees, inspections, taxes, etc to overcome, which would likely prohibit the venture... but isn't that the goal of the east-coast nanny-states? Don't get me wrong, I think it's a wonderful idea! Let us know about the permitting/licensing aspect though...
  10. Welcome Michelle! You can get started with a basic eGo kit, like an EVOD starter kit (two batteries, two clearomizers, and charger). I recommend anyone starting out to have two batteries, so you can have one charging while you use the other... and a couple tanks so you can have extra flavors. You can pick up the basic eGo-T 1100mAh twin kits for $20-25 from many sites (sorry no links for you at the moment), but I'm sure you'll have several links dropped in this thread for you I'm glad to hear your husband is doing so well... it takes time for some, and some can make the switch right away... either way it's all good because reduction or elimination is still fewer analogs in your system!
  11. 101Vape has them for $39.99 Wow, beat me by seconds
  12. I bought my MVP 2.0 back in May, and the on/off switch barely sticks out enough to flip it with your fingernail... does not hinder standing up at all
  13. It really depends on the juice, because I have some 50/50 that are full of flavor, and some that are weak. I still get reasonable vapor off my 80/20 and 70/30 juices using my Russians or AeroTanks, and the flavor is much better with those PG ratios, opposed to 50/50 for the juices I like... but again, it depends on the juice manufacturer. I've tried some 80/20 juices that taste like water... and some 50/50's that are full of flavor. I'd suggest trying some different brands/manufacturers and if you're not after clouds, you typically get better flavor out of a higher PG mix, but you'll also pick up more throat hit, too... so it is a trade-off in that fact.
  14. Welcome! I smoked cigars for 30 years, and vaping has been the only method to get me away from burning plants! As FishGuy said, EVOD kits are great. Find a couple of good flavors and enjoy!
  15. I've got two dozen Kanger tanks, which I still use... although the Russians have become my mainstream Some juices still taste better in the Kanger tanks, though... go figure? I've got a Magma en-route, so I may be joining you in burning tons of juice in a dripper Glad you found an RDA and flavor your like!
  16. Wow, this thread went to crap quickly, LMAO!
  17. Congrats!! You DO deserve a pat on the back!
  18. lol.. mine too... A week or two after I quit smoking, I could notice the stale smell in the house and vehicles, so I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned, painted, and cleaned some more, detailed the vehicles inside and out... and I think I washed every item of clothing in the house (twice)
  19. Check out Vapinbagz.com, if you're looking for something to carry more than just one thing?
  20. Welcome! Don't feel bad about falling off the wagon... feel better about jumping back on! Glad you're here!
  21. Ordered today: 100' each of 26, 28, 30, and 32-ga Kenthal Enough Japanese organic-cotton to keep me in wicks for a LONG time Smaller set of wire-cutters (more appropriately sized for smaller gauge wire) ELeaf Voltage/Ohm combo meter (has nice voltage testing function) Infinite Magma (with brass air-flow ring) Brass wide-bore drip-tip for Magma
  22. Four day weekend, soccer games, dodging thunderstorms, and maintenance on cars, truck, and motorcycles... and if I have time (which I did yesterday and Friday, lol), grab a nap or a long bike ride through the mountains!
  23. I'm not a dripper (yet), but I will say that I noticed none of the flavors I loved in my Kanger tanks tasted the same in my Russians. The mixtures I use in my tanks are a bit too intense in the Russians, especially bakery and cinnamon flavors. Adding a little VG helped, but I've not found the 'sweet-spot' yet for some of my fruit flavors (muting them too much). Nicotine is another biggie, I normally use 12-18mg in my tanks, but even with the Russians, I've had to drop to 6 and 12's... the 18's were nicotine overload, but I think everyone using an RBA/RDA will agree you have to drop your nic levels by half (or more), compared to what you use in tanks. I would suggest you take your RDA with you, along with some extra wick material, and try a few flavors that way? It's the only way you'll really know if it works for you, in your rig.
