  1. HERE is a good online calculator... just enter two variables, and it will give you the other values I also charted out sweet-spot values (as well as limitations) for the MVP a few months ago -- Red values are outside operation-limits, blue are within operation-limits, and green are generalized sweet-spot for most juices or personal preferences: Here is one based on Wattage setting: Here is one based on Voltage setting: And... the operational-range:
  2. BCarter has it right... All of the juices I vape taste best between 7.5W and 9.0W, and I do use different coils (1.5, 1.8, 2.0), so I use VW mode and set leave it at 8.0W or 8.5W for weeks on end. Regardless of which tank I pop on it (dual-coil or single-coil of any resistance), the device will auto-adjust the Voltage to provide the same vape experience for all of those tank/coil combos. Now, when I use my Russian 91% on my MVP, I do switch to VV mode and lock it at 3.9 or 4.0V. The unit will remember both settings and you can switch back and forth between the two by just pressing the "P" or "U" buttons one time (to display the puff counter for that setting) to make the swap between Wattage or Voltage control, respectively. It will take a little time to find your sweet-spot for your juices, but honestly, using VW mode for most people makes it easier to dial-in, and works best if you have several different tanks or use different resistance coils. Even if you're like Bcarter and use only one style tank and stick with one resistance coil... using VW mode will compensate for an older (gunked-up) coil which has increased resistance as it ages... it will apply more voltage to maintain the same Wattage throughout the life of the coil, thus maintaining a more consistent vape, longer.
  3. Chimney length, diameter, and funnel-shape (think Kayfun/Russian/Orchid) make a huge difference... and airflow-control bases... that is why I use them on my KPT2's So much improvement in flavor, compared to the standard bases! I've not used the Davide tanks, but I suspect the chimney design, coupled with the air-flow-control base are the real keys!
  4. I'm right with you on the "low-pack-anxiety"... if I had less than one unopened pack, I was manic until I made it to the store to restock! Now that I vape, the anxiety has virtually gone away, at least to the fact that I don't have to check to make sure I have a minimum 4-hour supply with me just to check the mailbox My OCD won't let me get down to one of something anyway... I tend to stock-pile everything from light-bulbs, toilet-paper, dish-soap... anything non-perishable, I like to have at least a 2-3 month supply on hand... and there are times in my life when I was glad I had a few things stockpiled
  5. Absolutely no reason to move up beyond a basic eGo and tank(s) of your choice. If you're happy with what you are using, and they keep you away from analogs... you're golden! I went a little nuts on tanks at first (ended up with more than two dozen, lol), and became quite satisfied with my MVP battery, over the pen-style eGo's. I still use my MVP daily, as well as my eGo's several times a week. I have gotten into the MODs and RBA/RDA a bit, but only because I wanted to try them (and some of the MODs are quite a conversation piece, too). Now that I have an RDA, I find myself rarely using it, honestly! Yes, I love my RBA/RTA Russian 91% (flavor, flavor, flavor), but you don't build a coil daily... actually I think one of them has the first coil I built for it, still in it (just re-wicked it from time to time)... more than a month ago?
  6. Check the requirements for your Nook and MP3 player... I'm very sure they will DRAW less than 1A, so plugging into either port will be fine. Amps are DRAWN, not pushed, so plugging into a charger/bank that is rated higher than the device will draw is perfectly fine. If either device requires more than 1A (1000mA), then you MUST use the 2.1A port or you could damage the device (worst case), or it will charge very slowly (and heat up the battery bank).
  7. Oh, you learn to ignore the spammers... the Admins are usually pretty quick to clip them at the knees
  8. You have a defective base-plate (air-flow control base). I had this happen with a standard AeroTank I purchased... unwrapped it, unboxed it, and nothing worked... I took it back to the store I bought it from and they replaced the base... going 6-months strong on it now! You have to remember these are all coming from China, and their QC is almost non-existent... sometimes you're lucky if ANYTHING is in the box Fortunately, of the nearly two dozen Kanger tanks I've purchased, that one tank was the only one that slipped by as non-functional, out of the box... Welcome to VT!
  9. 18-22ml per week, depending on which tanks I use, and if there are any stressful deadlines that week I did hit/break 30ml the week I received my RDA. Oddly enough, I use it very very rarely now... much less than I expected I would
  10. Just watch for their shipping... some people say they ship same day or next day, but they took nearly a week to ship mine. When I sent them an email about it, they said "whoops", and shipped it out that day, priority mail, and I had it 2-days later, which was really one one day later than I expected with "standard" shipping, so it wasn't a big deal, I guess. I was just expecting it to ship quickly like other sites I've dealt with. Shipping delay aside, they do have excellent prices on their HCigar and Infinite clones, and a good selection! My Copper Penny (also HCigar) was at least $10 cheaper than anywhere else I looked.... now THERE's an awesome MOD
  11. I bought it from Vape Playground, vapepg.com ($34?) - 1:1 clone from HCigar. It really is nice and clean and works well. My only issue is the tiny lock-ring. Sometimes it locks down and is hard to unlock without unscrewing the base at the same time (standard-threading). Also, the center-contact pin is a slot-head (adjustable from the outside), which is nice. All the contacts are Copper, the mod is Brass with chromed accents and firing button. It also comes with 3 tubes, and their is an all SS version, too (with copper contacts)
  12. ^^ This ^^ My WindRose has a short-throw magnetic button and very small top cap... with an 18350 battery tube, it's about the size of a lipstick or shorter than a 10ml juice bottle. I also remember seeing the tiny 320mAh eGo batteries available (maybe on the VT store?).
  13. I blend my own... Sweet and spicy Cuban cigar with hints of black cherry and raspberry (and occasionally add a drop or three of cinnamon to the tank). I also daily-vape a mix of dark chocolate, peanut-butter, and caramel (usually after dinner or before bed)
  14. Welcome! I see you're already a "pro"... If you've been vaping for more than a month and haven't broken anything yet... you're not doing it right
  15. I'll hide behind you Comp... If you don't desire variable voltage, you can't beat the standard eGo-T... 1100mAh ($9-10). The Vision Spinner 1 is 1300mAh ($15). And, the newer EVOD-C is a replaceable battery (~$8-12), and the firing button is separate (screws onto the battery) for about $3. IIRC, they run up to 1600mAh?
  16. The Vamo V5 has an Amp limit of 3.2A, and the lowest resistance coil that will fire on it will be 1.2 Ohm. Your 1.5 Ohm coil will fire at max Amps on the 15W setting (3.16A)...(or, cannot be pushed higher than 4.8V - even if you set it at max-voltage - due to the Amp limiter). Wicking is subjective... but you have to get enough to fill the coil, but not so much that it is too snug inside.... you should be able to pull it back and forth without dragging the coil, but it should be still touching all of the coil. At least that is what works best for me. Make sense? What VG% are you using? Sounds like the juice you are using is 100%, which will have very muted flavor, and burnt wicks sounds like too much cotton or you're not allowing it enough time to wick the juice? Honestly, there are dozens of factors here... sorry, I can't be more specific, but it's likely not just one thing.
  17. I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice this. During the day (working), I hit my MOD or APV fairly regularly, but when I'm working on a vehicle, mowing grass, or spending the day with the kids, I rarely think "where's my vape?", lol, and when I do, I realize I can live without it for another hour or so Last Saturday, the kids had me so busy that I barely vaped half of a 1.5ml KPT3 mini... ALL DAY! If I were still smoking, I would have ripped through at least a pack I fully agree... big tobacco has spent the past century figuring out how to increase the addictive properties of analogs to keep you buying their products! Analogs, unlike other "addictive products" do not only affect those with addictive personalities... so the manufacturers had to MAKE them addictive, to keep you buying them!
  18. sgibby88 - You'll love that Russian 91%! I have two (a V2 and a V1), and the flavor is amazing. One thing to watch for is how you wick it (plenty of good youtube videos on how-to)... too little and it will flood! I also find that my flavor is best between 1.2 and 1.8 Ohms. Vaping@907... Welcome!!
  19. "Best" is what works for you... you don't have to spend hundreds or thousands... a simple kit with two batteries, two tanks, and a charger is all you need to get started. Style, brand, color... all subjective to our multitudes of opinions, lol... Seriously though, check out the starter kits here on the V|T store... some of the best prices around, genuine products, and guaranteed! More important than your hardware is your juice... flavor you like, and high enough nicotine levels to keep you away from analogs! Welcome to the forum... feel free to start asking more specifics
  20. Congrats, and welcome to the forum! You're right, the tech has come a LONG way in the past couple of years... and improves almost daily, but that's a good thing!
  21. Thank you... I'm a far cry from "wealthy", but do enjoy sharing a good deal when I find them (and can afford them). I get great pleasure out of giving gifts, and I've had such success using vaping to stop smoking (only method to EVER work for me), that I truly wish I could afford to buy every smoker I know a starter-kit! To be honest, though, my initial thought was to hoard about half of the batteries for myself, lol, but after I received nearly a dozen tanks and almost half a liter of assorted juices (contests and freebies), I knew that Karma was knocking on my door, and I had the perfect opportunity to share my good fortune and hopefully help a few others become ex-smokers! Even though I now use more advanced hardware, I still keep an eye out for really good deals on eGo's and basic tanks (MT3, EVOD, etc)... I would love to always have a few spares, ready to gift-away as starter kits
  22. I rotate 10 (six KPT2 and four Aerotanks) at the moment, just like you are doing. Generally, my coils last anywhere from 6-10 refills. Given that I vape about 15 ml of juice a week (in just my tanks)... each tank sees at least one refill per two-weeks ... so... I generally get 2 months or so of use from a coil. I don't have a set-clean-and-change rotation... when one starts to fail, I change it... if a tank acts-up, I put it aside and do a thorough cleaning when I get a chance. With plenty of fresh tanks waiting to be vaped, I don't obsess about it if one acts up or has issues with a coil... When I first started out, I (like you) kept track of how long coils lasted, but each flavor and PG/VG ratio affects coils differently, with the average coil lasting at least 6 refills... although some have held-out 2-3x that before flavor degrades, tight draw, or leakage occurs. One thing that will help your coils is to not keep old juice in the tank when you refill them... When you vape a tank, take it down as far as you can, then when you refill, just dump out the remaining few drops before refilling. a swab of the inside of the tank with a vodka soaked q-tip won't hurt either, but I rarely do that anymore Really dark (or sweet or high VG) juices will gunk up a coil faster than light colored, thinner juices, so everyone's coil life-span is variable.
  23. It didn't come pre-assembled? How about the bottom? Is it threaded correctly?
  24. Yet another reason I carry a couple of cheap eGo-T's... I've given one away to a perfect stranger at a gas station before, to keep them from buying a pack of smokes One of the local "flea-markets" had a vape-booth set up, and the guy was selling some genuine and knock-off vape hardware... it was near closing time, and I made him an offer on his remaining 1100mAh eGo-T's... walked home with 9 batteries (with chargers) for $40. I also received several CE4's, EVOD, and Nova tanks as freebies (contests here on V|T), so I used those to make starter-kits for friends, and I've given away 3-4 of them to people in need. It feels good to help someone out, and keep them away from analogs!
