  1. It's likely not the coil... it's probably the juice. Some juices just don't handle high Wattages very well. The stock Nautilus is a great tank, and I vape mine between 10 and 15W for my preferred juices (usually 10-12W). Anything beyond 15W, and my juices taste like garbage, regardless of device. If you're after more cloud, increase your VG content by adding a few drops to the tank, or buying higher VG juices, but be aware that few "tanks" can handle more than 70% VG (some can't handle more than 50% VG) without clogging up (slow wicking / poor wicking), which will burn your juices too. Once you burn a juice in a tank, you pretty much have to dump the juice, clean the tank, and start with a fresh coil... else the flavor of "burn" will stay for a long time. I've heard a lot of people taking Nautilus tanks to 20W, 30W, 50W, etc.... but every time I hear someone doing it to those extremes, they all say the same thing... burnt juice and/or fried coils... The stock coils are just not built to handle that much power... and neither are most juices! An RDA may be what you're looking for... but a rebuildable tank (RTA), such as a Kayfun/Russian/Orchid (to me) seem to operate best in the 1.2-1.8 Ohm ranges anyway, so that puts you right back where you were with Wattage limits, although the flavors tend to be better through an RTA than a standard tank... RTA's are for flavor-chasers... RDA's are for cloud-chasers... So, it boils down to what YOU want out of the vape... warm? go lower Ohms... clouds? go higher VG and/or switch to RDA... but if you move to ANY rebuildable, please, please, please, do your research here and on youtube to understand what you're doing... SAFETY FIRST... buy and USE an Ohm-meter, buy quality (high-drain/high-Amp) batteries, and use quality devices!!
  2. The coil is stuck in the tube (unscrewed from the base), or stuck in the base? I've only had one "stuck", and it was a factory coil screwed into the base, apparently by a gorilla A little nudge with a pair of pliers and it came right loose.
  3. A big bore doesn't help that much... actually will give it more "room to pop", and a shorter one is worse. On my RDA, the shortest tip I'll use is 1.5" (big-bore). I have a really nice brass one that is maybe 1/2", but I get a ton of juice-taste when I use it. I'm with Tam... longer is better in those cases!
  4. Tam's list is really good, and you can't go wrong with "name-brand" equipment from Kanger Tech, JoyeTech, Vision, Innokin, etc. I personally prefer a non-VV battery like the eGo-T, but that's just me... I can't recall if Tam mentions coil prices in her post above, but I will mention that Kanger coils are 1/3 - 1/4 the price of Aspire (Nautilus) coils... so if price is a factor, you may want to consider that.
  5. Welcome! You have questions... we have opinions
  6. Been using the eGo-T 1100mAh since day one... Yes, I've evolved into bigger and better devices/batteries, but they are still my go-to batteries for backups and travel. And, for $10-15 each... you can't beat the price for a dependable work-horse! Welcome!
  7. Yes, up here in the mountains, and near all these corn-fields, it's not hard to find a doe breaking 150. The largest one I've seen to date was taken my daughter when she was 11... before dressing, it weighed-in at 203! When I dragged it out of the woods for her, I thought I was dragging a pick-up truck, lol. Elk up here are thriving as well. They're the size of beef-cattle! I'd love to go hog-hunting down there... my brother-in-law goes almost every year to a lease just across the border, but he's not had any luck the last few trips
  8. Yes, for the first 2-3 months, I was upside-down on my vaping expenditures After I stockpiled tanks, batteries, coils, and juice, I suddenly found myself not NEEDING to buy anything new... only WANTING... which forced me to engage some willpower to not buy anything new all summer (except a few juices). Within the next few months, I THEN realized how much money vaping was actually saving me! For example... I use to spend $45/week smoking (bare minimum).... and in August, I spent $200 on MODs, RTAs, RDAs, and supplies. After not spending anything all summer, I didn't feel the hit... and other than 180ml of juice bought around the same time (~$65 including shipping)... I've not spent another dime (another 3-months, expenditure-free) So, since June, I've spent ~$300-350 on vaping... but I've saved another $600-700 by NOT smoking. It adds up over time... trust me! Once you line-out your preference in equipment and juices, you're only expenses will be juice, coils on occasion, and replacing damaged/out-dated hardware (few and far between expenses).
  9. 1.8 Ohm coils are probably fine, but if you want a "hotter" vape, try 1.5 Ohm. If your liquid is 60/40, that is probably just fine, too... VG is what produces the vapor, so if you are looking for more vapor, then you'd want to go higher VG content. Many of the larger online stores offer juices in different PG/VG ratios to suit your needs. PG is what carries flavor and creates throat-hit. If you want more TH, go higher on PG... same for flavor... if you want more flavor, you should go higher PG. Ratios from 70/30 to 30/70 seem to be where most of us gravitate. To me, 100% VG tastes like a glycerine bar (nasty), so I try to stay in the 50/50 juices as my lowest PG ratios (although I do have some 30/70 and 20/80 juices)... and my daily vape is actually a 60/40 Juices are a give-and-take... better flavors are found in higher PG ratios, and better vapor is found in higher VG ratios... and most "commercial" juices are 70/30 to 50/50 ratios, mostly to maintain flavor.... because unless you are a "cloud-chaser", flavor is what makes your vaping experience more enjoyable.
  10. I don't own a Stingray, but I know several people who do, and they all seem to love them. If you're buying a clone, stick with HCigar or Infinite... they're clones are top-quality. I would also suggest Copper or Brass, as they will provide the most consistent function with least voltage drop (because they conduct better than steel). HCigar's black and copper Stingray is gorgeous The Stingray's use multiple tube-sections, so be aware you will need to lube the threads on each section with anti-seize compound or Vaseline to keep them from getting stuck together Been there, done that... t-shirts aren't worth buying
  11. I honestly don't know how I survived when I smoked... I spend in a week (vaping) now, what I use to spend in a day or two smoking... and one premium cigar (which I bought more often than I should have) would run as much as I paid for my MVP! I've saved tons, even after factoring in all the hardware and juice I've bought in the past 7+ months, and I will say it did NOT hurt my wallet when I dropped big-bucks for a new competition bow, 2-dozen custom arrows, and hard-case for my son last month. A year ago, I would have had to set aside $ for a several months to be able to "not feel pain" in a purchase like that
  12. Backups, backups, backups.... I had... yes HAD four eGo-T's... and since I was rarely using them (or not using them as often as I thought I should), I recently gifted two of them to a friend of my son's who was wanting to find an easy way off analogs (just found out she's pregnant)... So, she's the proud (new) owner of two eGo's, my backup charger, and my remaining three EVOD tanks Fast forward a few days... one of my eGo's decides to stop charging Now, I'm down to ONE eGo-T, one MVP 2.0, and two 18650 MODS. I'm not overly worried about power issues because I use my MODs more and more, but only having one eGo does kinda worry me since they are my travel backups... I too wish they'd release some info on the MVP V3, or the expected VTR V2's. I guess until those get released, I'll just order another pair of eGo-T's to keep me sane
  13. Seeing and touching things in person is always the way to find what you like! Hardware will always cost more from a B&M, but they have overhead to cover. Even if you don't buy from a B&M, you'll at least know what TO buy on your next online purchase! I'm glad you're enjoying your new rig! I knew a KPT/spinner would bring you around to the "good life", lol...
  14. My local B&M sells Space Jam for the same price as 99% of online retailers. I've tried a few of them, and just not a huge fan of any but Eclipse and Andromeda .... they're a decent treat, but I just can't vape any of them all day As CKF said, eBay does not allow sales of anything with Nicotine, so you'll never find more than 0mg juices there. Buy your juices (and hardware) from reputable sites, and you'll not get taken for a ride. As most of us (on this site) have seen or experienced... eBay is full of knock-offs and bad clones sold as "authentic", "genuine", or "original"!
  15. One thing I should have probably mentioned too... I will assume you're using the standard EVOD battery (3.7V), so I will recommend you use a 1.5 or 1.8 Ohm coil for best results (or at least better results). When I use my eGo-style (non-variable-voltage) batteries, I tend to stick with 1.5 Ohm coils for most of my juices (some juices prefer using 1.8 Ohm). Any higher resistance (Ohms), and your Wattage (power) is diminished, and your vape is less satisfying
  16. Seattle Vapor has a really good Lemonade flavor, which you can add other flavor-shots to, or boost the lemon flavor to make it really tart. I tried the Raspberry Lemonade with extra shot and flavor boost, and it was really good. If I buy anymore, I'd like to try it with Blackberry shot and triple-boost of Lemon (hopefully it won't be too tart or metallic tasting)
  17. Your EVOD is fine... your nicotine level is most likely the issue. If you smoked anywhere near a pack a day, 18mg will be the bare minimum you'll require to get through the craving times (morning, before bed, after meals, etc.). If you smoked more than a pack a day, it would not hurt to try 24mg juices too... Nicotine is NOT the problem, so don't feel bad if you have to have higher levels to fight through the cravings! Also, using a higher VG% juice will produce more vapor, which many people find to also ease the transition, because you get the sensation of smoking (thicker vapor production). Higher VG will also reduce the throat hit (TH), so your draw will not be as "harsh".... this is a good thing for higher nicotine levels.
  18. Well modern-rifle season is over here... muzzle-loader starts in early December, but I've maxed out my rifle limit Before the weather went "arctic" on me, I saw plenty of deer... mostly young, but they were out there... I vaped the entire time I was hunting, not chain-vape, but still hit the tank quite often. I can't say it truly helped, but it didn't hurt either! Both doe I bagged were 170+ and were taken in the evening. (saw very few in the mornings). Control the human/household scent-factor, and I'm pretty sure you'll not have problems seeing deer in the area you'll be hunting... Like you, I've killed deer with a lit cigarette/cigar in my mouth or in my off-hand more than once, so we both know most deer are not spooked by most "odd" smells... but they are very wary of household smells, and their UV vision is quite good too... which is one reason I wash all my hunting clothes in scent-killer with UV barrier... I've also been known to "roll around" in the grass and leaves around the areas I hunt, to further pick-up the local smell
  19. My first juices (bought 3) were Havana Cigar, Cuban Cigar, and Mt. Dew flavors... I still vape the Cuban Cigar flavor (mixed with vanilla and/or fruits), and the Havana and Dew flavors were also the first I paid-forward They were horrible after about the 4th hit... and no, they never got better after I got my taste-buds back...
  20. Non-organic cotton, I would boil... that stuff has been through the chemical wringer so to speak... bleaching, peroxides, and countless other stuff you can't say without a PhD in Chemistry For that reason, I switched (quickly) to Organic Japanese cotton. No chemical additives (or at least nothing harsh), and the stuff is so much better at consistent wicking (and lasts longer, too)!
  21. You're welcome... I vary Nicotine level between devices, as some devices deliver vapor "better", lol. For tanks like Kanger/Aspire, I generally run 18mg. For my Russian 91% RTAs, I vary from 12mg to 15mg, and for my RDA, I run 6mg at the most, usually 3mg. I also run 3mg or 6mg in a tank or RTA about an hour or two before I go to bed... it gradually tapers me off the Nicotine, which helps me sleep better (longer), and I'm less likely to wake up with dehydration headaches (like a hangover) or with massive cravings
  22. Just looking at the position of the coil... I'd say uneven burn and poor airflow (not under the coil, creating vacuum to draw juice)
  23. I smoked cigars for 30 years, and so far, the best cigar flavor I've found is "Liqua" by Ritchie... Cuban Cigar flavor. It's a 70/30 blend, but you can mix with other flavors (like Vanilla) at higher VG ratios to make your blends 60/40 or 50/50. I really like it mixed 4:1:1 Cuban Cigar, Very Vanilla, and Black Cherry. It has a smooth flavor, and sweet exhale... almost Swisher Sweet because of the Black Cherry. Seattle Vapor has a Black-and-Mild flavor that some say is pretty good, but to me it was a bit pipe-like flavor... more aroma than flavor...
  24. 1.8 Ohm is a "happy place" for most juices and batteries. Higher resistance coils will prolong your battery life, but only by a bit, while sacrificing performance, IMO. Like Tam said.. we are pretty bad about preaching safety and backups for your backups... trust us when we say you'll need a backup sooner, rather than later... Murphy's Law is always working against us
  25. Buy what you can, when you can... just remember... a tank costs a few bucks today, but lasts forever (with proper care)... and coils are cheap compared to packs of smokes and lighters Money is always tight when you start out... Seriously though, a couple of batteries and tanks can be purchased for what you'd spend on one or two cartons of smokes, depending on where you live.... (and they'll last far longer than a week or two). Two of each (battery/tank) are mostly a necessity, though... since you have a hard time vaping while your battery is charging (if you only have one), and most people have more than one flavor, so it makes sense to have a tank for each flavor, or at the very least, a spare in case you break one, or one malfunctions.
