  1. I'm not a cloud chaser, but I get highly satisfying vapor (and flavor) from my Magma, running .7-.8 Ohm dual micro-coil (28ga Kanthal) and organic Japanese cotton. I use juices from 50/50 to 30/70. I've tried higher VG, but just don't like the taste of the glycerine and flavors of the juice just aren't there. My 30/70 juices are fruit-flavors because I can't taste anything else at those VG levels. Best all-around flavor and decent vapor are from my 50/50 juices
  2. Patricia, I have some juices that were given to me, which supposedly "expired" a few months ago... They are DELICIOUS! The one-year rule seems to mostly be for the Nicotine and some flavorings, because VG and PG have upwards of 5-yr shelf-life.
  3. I'm interested in the one-piece chimney too... as far as how it affects wicking your coils properly? I know the two-piece design of the kayfun/Russian makes wicking extremely easy, as you can get the wick the way you want it on the deck....
  4. I was considering one, but when I read the specs that it uses MEAN rather than RMS for calculations, and the fact it cannot step below 3.7V, I was kinda turned off on it. Since they are running the same price as the MVP 2.0, and (hopefully) the MVP 3.0 will be out in a few months, I think I'll hold out for the MVP Don't get me wrong, the eLeaf seems like a decent unit, and I love the button placement on the side... but being a 1st Gen device, I think their V2 will be even better?
  5. Actually, you prolong the life by charging them more frequently (without draining them down below 1/2 charge). Rotating batteries is a difficult thing, especially when you have a bunch of them. When I had 6-8 eGo's, I rotated them often, but then "forgot" about them as I used my MVP and MODs more... I was afraid they had ran-down in storage, but every one of them (when put on the charger) clicked to green within just a few minutes, and they are none the worse for wear (although I've given all but a couple away). Bebop is right... in cool, dry storage, they will lose about 1-2% charge per month, maintaining from 80-90% after a year of storage (typically). BUT, if you store one drained, it may never live again.... Always top them off before storing away or long periods of non-use... and if possible, just rotate them into your routine so they see some "love" from time to time....
  6. Ahh.. Okay, for that version (with separate charging port), the spec is a type-H connector, and I just read in a few comments... people were saying specs were 9V, type-H, @ 1.2A... but you know where that info came from (even though everything on the Internet is true :P) I saw nothing in the spec sheet for that model which said input Voltage or Amp requirements... sorry
  7. If you have the 150W IPV3 that takes two 18650 batteries, there is no charging of the device via USB. The USB is for upgrading the chip-set ROM. *There is no charging function on this version of the iPV3* (extracted from the spec sheet) Yours may be different, but I would consult the spec sheet or instruction manual for your specific model to be certain. Given that there are two batteries, it will depend on how the circuitry are arranged, as to if you require 5V or 9V, but I would guess the minimum Amps for safety would be 1.0-1.2A, regardless? (your VV charger is 2.0A, which would work - Amps are drawn not pushed)
  8. Patricia, what are you looking for? Fancy? Ornate design? Metal? Pyrex? Plastic? Long? Short? Wide-bore?
  9. All my tanks handle 50/50 juices just fine... The Kanger tanks don't struggle with 30/70, but the coils don't last long that way. My Nautilus handles 30/70 a tiny bit better, but I wouldn't think higher VG% would make the coils happy My RTA's can handle any VG content, but wicking them to handle anything thicker than 50/50 is tricky, to say the least. Tam is wise... keep the 100% VG for the RDA, and stick with 70% VG as the max for any tank...
  10. It looks cool, but I wasn't too impressed with the V3.1 (or even the V2 for that matter), so I'll have to see how the reviews are after they are released. I do like the look of the chimney design... looks like a NASA Apollo capsule
  11. Which further promotes hypocrisy... since the insurance companies don't consider patches or gum as a "nicotine delivery device", because they are backed by big-pharma! Sad, too, because Nicotine has been proven again and again to NOT be the addictive or damaging by-product of tobacco!
  12. I have two nite-core chargers (i4's), and never experienced this, and one of my chargers is a couple years old. They are warranted, so I'd see about getting a replacement... Even if it's new, that doesn't guarantee that it's not defective or damaged, unfortunately
  13. #1... if you've burnt a coil with juice in the tank, even changing to a new coil will still taste bad because the "burnt" flavor has been passed to the remaining juice. It is best to dump the bad juice, clean the tank, and start with a fresh coil. Sometimes, dry-burning a coil will prolong the use of it, but considering the cost of a replacement, it's not worth it (IMO), unless that is your last coil and you can't get to the store (or your shipment of replacements won't arrive) until tomorrow. So, what coil/tank are you having this issue with, and are you sure it is a burnt-coil issue, and not just an issue where your tastebuds have changed and something that use to taste good no longer does?
  14. Welcome... lots of things to learn, but the beauty is that you can learn at your own pace, where you are most comfortable... and when you find something you like, you don't have to keep going, unless you want to... it's not like continuing to look for your car keys after you've found them
  15. I rarely vape a flavor that is just one flavor... my main ADV is a mix of 4 flavors, and you can taste all 4... My second ADV is a mixture of 3 flavors, and 2 stand out more than the other flavor, but if the other flavor were missing, the overall taste would not be the same.... AND the ones I've been testing from Fadora are 6 or 7 distinct flavors, which blend to give you a different experience, sometimes tasting flavors that don't even exist
  16. I love it so far... but my only issue is either the font (too thin), or the color (too light)... different font or 20% darker will be just fine for me... I am really liking the layout! Oh, and there's still not a 'View New Content' link at the bottom of the page... While the 'top of page' auto-scroll is nice, I sometimes just want to jump back to new content
  17. Different tanks are exactly that... "different" Things that affect the flavor of your juice can vary as much as the resistance of the coil you're using. The coil, wick material, placement of the coil in relation to the size/shape of the tank, length of the chimney (tube), volume of the vaporizing area, material that make the tank, and even the size/shape/length of the drip-tip will have "some" effect. Comparing 3 tank styles I use (all with nearly the same Ohm coil(s))... and two different, yet fruity/sweet flavors: Flavor 1: AeroTank/KPT2, flavor is amazing, really brings out the sweetness of the vanilla Nautilus, flavor is even better, can pick up the fine-details of fruits Russian 91%, flavor is superior, as well as vapor (volume and heat), can pick-up every detail of the flavor Flavor 2: AeroTank/KPT2, flavor is really good, and pick up on the citrus (tart) and vanilla (sweet) very well, vapor production is "meh" Nautilus, flavor is muted, pick up on "other" flavors, but miss the tart/sweet flavors, vapor is better, but flavor fails Russian, Flavor is completely different, subtle tart/sweet, but pick up a woody after taste and tropical aroma. Vapor production is tops! So, long story short, same juice will taste different in different tanks. Oh, and here's another twist to consider.. different Voltages or Wattages applied to the coil(s) in the SAME TANK will make the flavor change as well (until you over-cook it and burn the juice/coil)
  18. I saw one of these at a local B&M last night... talk about mark-up! They were asking $60 for these... then again, they also had MVP's for $75 and VTR's for $125... and their Spinner 2's were $45! I'm down to one working eGo right now (gave two away, and one got wet and died ), so I need to pick up at least a couple of those... but I may snag one of these as a "pocket-replacement" for my MVP... I love my MVP, but being able to squeeze a few more Watts out of a slightly smaller form-factor (with fire-button on the side) will have advantages...
  19. Yes, I often think... "I wonder if anyone makes that in an e-liquid", when grocery shopping or eating something tasty. But, as for the triple pie-cake... ummm... yuk! Mixing flavors in my e-juices... YES... mixing flavors (like that) for my baked desserts... NO
  20. Good observation... Big Tobacco wants your first experience with e-cigs to be a bad one, so you'll be a tool for them in slandering the legit products.... They break, they taste horrid, they don't last long, they're too expensive, they don't taste like real tobacco, etc. etc.
  21. I hadn't heard of these before, Let us know how it works when it arrives... I'd be interested in a good review I like the all-glass design, and the method of "holding it together" seems like a good solution to prevent leakage.
  22. I've worked IT for pushing 20 years... I've seen and heard my fair share of "computer humor", lol... It is true, that some people shouldn't own a computer... And, being in charge of several servers, I constantly hear, "the server is down"... regardless of user-error, printer-malfunction, or the fact they can't realize they're logging in with the caps-lock on My absolute favorite, though... A lady in the office was having issues getting documents to scan. I worked with her over the phone (which was my first mistake), and it took forever to get the basics of the problem. She couldn't tell me what model printer/scanner she was using, couldn't tell if she was using a flat-bed or paper-feed model... so I asked her to describe how she was performing the "scan" (hoping to glean some insight to the hardware).... She was quite huffy with me at this point, and told me, "How hard is this... I'm holding the sheets up to the (MONITOR'S) screen, and hitting this da** 'PRT SCR' button a million times, and it just won't scan them!! This stupid piece of sh** is worthless!!"
  23. I have a bad habit of blocking one of the holes with my finger, if I fire my battery with my thumb But, I'd say you have some gunk in the base which is restricting airflow one one or more of the air-flow holes? pop off the base, remove the coil, and rinse the base under some hot water, then blow through each of the holes to remove any gunk... rinse again and dry it off... should work better?
  24. Let me chime back in on the RTAs... I've tried sub-ohm on my Russian 91%, and the flavor was dismal (and hot, with dry-hits)... Seriously, I find builds on my Russian ~ 1.4 Ohm to be perfect blend for flavor, vapor, and warmth. I use Organic Japanese cotton, and have the air-flow slightly restricted (to encourage better wicking / better vacuum pressure), and I've not had any complaints yet I use my Russians on Mech Mod, as well as my MVP... and I find 3.8 - 4.0V to be the sweet-spot for best vape (using 1.4 Ohm coil)... the flavor is outstanding with those settings, and when you use coils above 1.2 Ohm, most any regulated Mod will function perfectly with them. The MVP will fire coils down to 0.8 Ohm, but above 1.2 Ohm and you get better performance.
  25. Congrats on your purchase! The EVOD kits are truly bullet-proof! I will also suggest, now that you've got your starter-kit... start researching here, and asking questions for your next purchases... You don't have to buy everything tomorrow, and you don't really have to buy anything more either, but you'll eventually WANT to upgrade to bigger batteries and/or bigger or better Pyrex tanks. It's just a natural progression Besides, having a couple more tanks and batteries will always be a good thing, especially as you try new juices, or if you find you like 3-4 flavors (each flavor in their own tank for simplicity). The kit you have is likely 650mAh batteries, which should last you all day (or most of the day), so buying higher mAh batteries should be on your future-purchase list, as well as additional tanks... Just buying one here, one there is a good way to add to your kit without breaking the bank. The KPT2 mini, and KPT2 will take the same coils as your EVODs, if you're looking for Pyrex tanks. Also, with the battery you're using, I'd suggest picking up a box of replacement coils in 1.5 or 1.8 Ohm size... You'll find they will vape better
