  1. Nah, not a moron... just did what all of us have done at one point in time or another... If I had a $1 for every time I grabbed the wrong thing, I'd have quite a few dollars And, based on the description of the coils (online description), there was no reason for you to think they wouldn't fit your KPT3-minis... The description IS incorrect, so unless you knew a Unitank and AeroTank take different coils, you would never have realized something was amiss... Christopher will get it fixed for you, and make it right, I'm sure... since an incorrect description led you to purchase an incorrect coil...
  2. Technically, they only have 4 designs... But I agree, they can be confusing if you're not 100% sure of what you need! Dual-coils (3 versions over the years, but all are the same size - short-stem, long-stem, and invisible-coil) Single-coils (2 versions -short-stem and long-stem) T3S/MT3 coils (the "original" coil) Sub-ohm coil (latest version for the sub-tank only - much larger diameter col-head)
  3. Sorry, I thought you bought them locally, not the VT store... This is the one you want - http://www.vaportalk.com/shop/pro-aero-tank-refill-dual-coils/ I think (know) the description of the other link has incorrect data, as they say they will work in virtually every Kanger tank, which is incorrect. Tam, perhaps you can let Christopher know the description (and title) is incorrect on this link (http://tinyurl.com/kxd4byl), and maybe help Bone out with getting him the correct item?
  4. I've tried the single-coils in my KPT3-mini, and even with a second silicone cap added to the shaft, they still leaked (BADLY). Bone, I'd take those back to the shop and grab the dual-coil unit... either the original or upgraded design (both are the same function and size). Those singles will only work "well" in the KPT2, KPT2-mini, Unitank, or original EVOD tanks. Here's an image of both dual-coil designs (Version 1 is same as V2, but with shorter shaft above the coil):
  5. Ahhh, the photo you posted is the upgraded dual-coils... same thing as what I posted above, but newer version (enclosed wick area). Still, though, the singles won't work in the KPT3-mini without modification to prevent leakage... the little silicone cap won't seal-off the center-tube because the head-area of the single-coil are shorter than the dual-coils.
  6. The Protank / EVOD / Unitank coils are SINGLE-coils. Your KPT3-mini takes DUAL-coils
  7. The MVP only works in Voltage-mode OR Wattage-mode... Wattage-mode is honestly easier to work with, because it will give you a consistent vape, regardless of the resistance of the coil you use. Select the "P" button, and start low (5-6W), vape, adjust Wattage, vape, repeat... until you find the best flavor for your juice. My Kanger tanks and juices taste best between 7.5 and 9.0 Watts. Same juices in a Nautilus tank need an extra Watt of power (8.5-10.0W). Just remember, if you press the "U" button, you'll switch modes to Voltage-mode... so technically, you can have two saved settings, one on Voltage, one on Power.
  8. I have to agree with everyone above.... Those of us that are vaping to stay away from smoking are not out to "annoy the neighbors" with huge clouds of vapor. Everyone I know takes mouth-to-lung hits... just like most smokers... Full lung-hits are rare unless you cloud-chase and are running 0mg, max VG Just like in the wold of motorcycles, there are those 1%ers that give the other 99% of us a bad name.
  9. I've been watching a Doctor Who marathon.... 1963 -> today.... I should get through all series/episodes sometime in the summer
  10. When you're mixing flavors, what tastes good by itself may require "tweaking" when mixed with something else. The tobacco flavor may over-power the chocolate, or it may intensify it... best to mix a very small batch (5 - 15ml) at the 3% each level and try it. You may find the 1:1 ratio is good, but may need 2:1 ratio ... or 3:1 ratio... I'm sure Comp could give you more insight on this than me, as I've only dabbled in mixing... but I have found that rarely do things mix 1:1 and taste as good "together", as they did individually.
  11. If the mod is a Cronus Titan, which is what it looks like, it will say "Cronus" on the firing button... or at least the ones I've seen do...
  12. Peppermint is excellent... so is honey-flavors, and even a butter-toffee or butterscotch work well too To reduce the throat-hit, higher VG juices, at least 50/50, and as you already found out... cut back the Voltage/Wattage a tiny bit. Oh, and drink plenty of fluids

    Legion?

I think you'll really enjoy it... Simple, yet very functional... and the flavor is fantastic, even with a 0.8 - 1.0 Ohm build!
  14. Scrap lumber and a drill-press... and a little time, and I made these to hold my tanks and eGo-style batteries... Yes, the round one is a solid-round closet-doorknob I also use a Plano tackle-box (the tiny, two-tray ones) to hold all my spare parts and coil-making materials... an even smaller one (double-sided fishing lure case) holds my dead Kanger coils while I'm waiting to rebuild them.
  15. Welcome! The MVP/AeroTank combo is great... The Nautilus is a good tank too. Flavor and vapor are a bit more pronounced in the Nautilus (and it holds more juice), but for the money, you can get a lot more bang for the buck by sticking with the AeroTank, IMO. The ProTank 2 also works with the same airflow base as the AeroTank, so an even cheaper option to use is the KPT2 with air-flow base (using single-coils [bCC], which are cheaper).

    Legion?

IMO, a good beginner RDA is the Magma. I picked up one (Infinite clone) a few months ago, and still love it... Easy to build on, easy to adjust, works in single or dual-coil configurations, lots of air-flow (directly under the coils for max flow), and the DEEP juice-well allows you to really pile in the juice so you don't have to drip more every 3 or 4 hits! You can usually pick them up online for $15-25, depending on the site, and the Infinite clones are excellent clones. BTW, I also have an HCigar Stillare and Omega, and I've not even built coils for them yet That should tell you how much I like the Magma....
  17. I've been using my iStick in VW mode, and find that juices that taste good (Kanger AeroTank @ 1.5 Ohm) at 9W on my MVP, taste the same on the iStick set at 8W, and could step back down to 7.5W, too, without any loss of flavor... It has to do with the way the chip-set calculates power (Mean -vs- RMS), which makes the iStick appear to fire higher than the settings. I would not be surprised if the 20W setting were actually closer to 25W on a comparable RMS chip-set device....
  18. ^^ This ^^ I can't find anything on the weight, so I'll assume the body is all plastic? Or are they metal (Aluminum)? Still, though, an excellent looking 30W device for ~ $55!
  19. Welcome... I saw your other post, regarding the VTR, and while I'll champion them for being a dependable work-horse, and perfect for people that need a rugged device at work/home... for the price... and having to invest in a $20-40 charger and at least $20-40 in batteries (for starters) on TOP of a $80-100 device... I still stand behind my suggestion of the Eleaf iStick. For the price you'll be paying for the VTR and all the necessary parts to make it work, you can buy 4 or 5 iSticks! They're smaller, lighter, output higher Wattage, and charge by your cell-phone charger (in about 4 hours if fully depleted). I can't speak to their durability (yet), and some have said the 510 threads are "weak", but I have no experience with that (and many people have stripped-out their 510 connector on the VTR, too). I love my MVP (brother to the VTR), and the iStick is very similar. Another down-side to having big-bucks tied-up in only one "device" is the "what-if" scenario... What if the device malfunctions? Having 20 18650's do no good at that point... so you should have at least one or two other devices to fire your tanks Bottom-line, for any person just starting out, I always try to suggest you keep the equipment simple (and plentiful, as in extras / back-ups), so you can spend your extra cash in the "quest for juice", lol Your mileage may vary, but I'll give an example of a recent experience I had (needing backups)... I left the house for a day-trip on my motorcycle, carrying a mech-mod, MVP, and two eGo batteries. During the day, the mech-mod malfunctioned, my MVP was depleted as an emergency charger for my cell-phone, one eGo died after about 20 hits, and the last eGo ran out of juice about 20-min after I got home! Being stranded away from home, in the middle of nowhere, without a working battery is a horrible place to be... which is why we stress back-ups, back-ups, back-ups... and even a $10 eGo battery is better than nothing!
  20. I just got my iStick a few days ago, and I'm feeling like they will be replacing my eGo-style batteries VERY soon... Better capacity (life between charges), easier to charge with micro-USB cable, VV / VW and a good, solid grip (and don't look / feel so top-heavy with a bigger tank on them). I love my MVP, but the iStick is my new #2. They are a bit quirky because their chip-set calculates Ohm's Law based on Mean, rather than RMS values, so what tastes good at 9W on the MVP doesn't directly translate to the same setting on the iStick, but if you had never compared the two, you'd not realize the difference. I think I'll keep a couple eGo's around as back-ups-for-my-back-ups (at least until they die-off), and for using with my cartos when working in the yard, etc., but I'll not be keeping my "minimum of 4" like before.
  21. Not an inhaler, more of a cig-a-like, but without a battery or vapor, delivering 0.028 mg of nicotine per 10 puffs... Looks kinda gimmicky to me... and from Arista labs (Accredited tobacco testing laboratory). Which immediately makes me suspicious...
  22. Or the.... "my friend let me try his XYZ mod with a 0.000065 Ohm coil running on Nitro-glycerine and Coffee Beans.... and I want you to give me the education equivalent of a degree in electronics and Chemistry in 6-posts or less so I can impress the 15-yr olds at my step-mom's block-party (tonight) with my HUGE clouds!"
  23. Sounds to me like a troll-plug for Nicassure... the whole post just seems too "scripted", like a commercial... then again, maybe I'm just being cynical today?
  24. Day to day... week to week... it all adds up! Congrats on a major milestone, though... I bet a month ago you thought you'd never make it this far... from here, it's all downhill
  25. Exposing healthy lung cells to immersion in purified water will not only harm the cells, it will kill them... by causing the cell membranes to burst... SO, I call bias on the whole study. I need to do a study (with $5M in gov't grants) to prove that drilling holes in your head "may" lead to death.... and start with all these pseudo-scientists as lab-rats for my study [and people wonder why I got out of Medicine, health-professions, and research fields... I was tired of the bias, adjusting experiments to reinforce the conclusion they wanted, and big-pharma (or other interest groups) funding the research to provide data to back up the claim they wanted to show]
