Yes, so far, no real complaints. I've gotten a couple of dry hits because the juice-flow either wasn't open all the way or I used a tiny bit too much cotton... and of course the issues with the iStick over-volting the coil which toasted a few wicks... but other than that, I've had zero real issues with the hardware. I am use to the Russian 91%, so there is a tiny learning-curve on the difference in wick "needs", and aif-flow settings.... but once you dial those in, it performs flawlessly. The juice-flow control has loosened up nicely and everything is butter-smooth. Flavor is still pretty much the same as my Russians, but the new chimney, top-cap, and drip-tip design have one additional advantage... after an entire tank of juice, there is near zero fluid under the drip-tip

iStick 20W can't settle on resistance

Yes, I ordered a 5-pack of them from Fasttech... something like $3? I hope they work, but if not, I'm not out any cash I'll let you know how they work, that is, after they arrive, lol. -

Yep, the mini's pin is stiffer, and the 30W iStick's center pin is smaller. Tam, that is probably why your Nautilus mini is working.... The center pin on my Nautilus has such a weak spring, it doesn't take much for it to bottom-out and move back even with the threading The 510/eGo connectors I just ordered have long, small center-pins, so they should prevent the shorts and no-atty messages I've been getting from my KPT3-minis as well... or at least I hope! -

*** Possible Solution Warning *** I think I just figured these iSticks out!!!! All of them are working great with any Kanger full-size tank. All of them work great with my Russians (V1 and V2). I just metered my Nautilus at 1.82 Ohms, and as soon as I put on the Silver iStick, the readings started jumping... everything from "no atomizer" to 3.5 Ohms... The EXACT same thing happened when I put it on either of the blue ones. So, it is the tank! I tried my V4... metered at 1.38 Ohms, and on any iStick, the reading starts jumping wildly. Now, what is the common point between the two? Both 510 pins on the Nautilus/V4 sit nearly flush with the threading, not extended below the threading. What is different between the Kanger / Russians and the Nautilus / V4? The 510 pins of the Kanger and Russians protrude well below the threads. I checked the 510 connection of the iSticks, and they are AS WIDE AS the entire 510 connector (threads and pin)... sooooo, it looks like the Nautilus and V4 are shorting out by contacting the center pin of the APV to BOTH the center pin and the outer threading of the attys I adjusted the 510 of the V4 to extend it a bit (thankfully it's adjustable), and it now works exactly as it should on ANY of the iSticks! No hope for the Nautilus, as it's pin is spring-loaded, and will just press up and allow it to continue to short-out against the wider center-pin of the iStick... This is just fine, as I'm not a fan of the Nautilus, and if I do wish to use it, I always have the MVP -

I'm thinking silver... While the Champagne is kinda sexy, my OCD won't let me put together mis-matched color combos I already have the Titanium Blue MPV, and a blue iStick, so if I don't go silver, my other choice will be another black one... because you can't go wrong with basic-black! Black goes with anything.... -

And isn't Nichrome more expensive? I thought the Chinese were all about doing things the cheapest way possible, lol? -

I agree, the new champagne looks much better than the original one, and I'm also liking the blue, now that it has silver buttons instead of the Hasbro-blue ones of the original version Yep, it's going to be a hard choice.... although the blue and silver are in stock... I guess it becomes a matter of do I want it now, or do I wait? -
I bought the Amod clone from Code Vape and as usual for my luck, they've gone down in price to $24.95 The RTA is about as 1:1 as it can get, especially with the SS and glass sections. I've not tried the M-tank yet, so no clue on how it fits/performs. The spare-parts kit included at least one of every o-ring for rebuild, and the silver-plated contact spring, but oddly enough, no spare post screws... could have sworn those were included, but I just looked, and nope, not there...

Yeah, I'm debating on what to do about the iSticks... they seem to all be working fine with my full-size Kanger tanks, so I guess I'll pick up another IPV-mini to use with my RTA's and keep the Nautilus on my MPV (it seems to like it there, lol). VaporRange.com still has IPV-minis for $49.95 with free shipping, and they have a new limited-edition pink, which is more of a red (or dark fuchsia) from the images, and has the Vapor Range logo on it. They're out of stock on black, but have silver and blue (with silver buttons, not the cheesy blue buttons of the original blue version). Champagne color is now lighter (with champagne buttons), and much better looking too, but they're on pre-order/OOS at the moment. Amazon also has Samsung 25r's in a 4-pack for $31, or a 5-pack for $34, which makes them same price I paid at the B&M (on sale)! I'm really liking the Samsung batteries, too... they easily handle any build I care to make, and they outlast my Sony batteries (obviously) since they are 2500mAh. -
I agree with this... The more space between wraps, only allows char and gunk to build up. Tighter wraps get hotter... I use to be a lighting engineer, and one thing about coil building for Halogen lighting is to minimize the gap for the hottest, brightest coil... and then figuring out the gas mixture, volume, pressure, and bulb-wall-thickness to maximize life (and minimize explosion).
-
You mean packing the wire in ice for an hour, wrapping over and over against the grain, and then forcing the coil into a vice isn't the proper way??

Wow, 12 days is fast! I try to notice the "ships in XX days", but sometimes you can't avoid the additional 3-4 days of processing time. Exactly... I bought 9 items for <$15, and saved $75+ over buying the same thing from a US supplier... I can wait if I'm saving big bucks Which reminds me... I've looked at some items from Fasttech, and several other Chinese sellers, and I've noticed lately that a lot of the name-brand authentics and clones are actually priced the same, or MORE, than you can buy them in the US. It pays to shop around if you expect to save $$.

Yeah, the Western route through Europe was a new one on me too... I guess grandma gave the package to the wrong pigeon
-
Not sure if my order was "simple", or if they are getting their act together, but the order I placed on 1/9 is shipping today (only took 7 days, instead of their usual 12-15, lol). Now to wait another week for grandma to hand it off to the carrier pigeon who will fly it to the Philippines, where it will be handed off to sea-turtles, who will then deliver the package to South America via Panama Canal. The last leg of the journey should be quick, as I hear Juan has a new pack-mule and should be able to reach the US border by sometime this summer In all seriousness, my last Fasttech order was just over 5-weeks from order to delivery, but it did spend 5-days in Switzerland for some strange reason (I guess it needed a little vacation in a neutral country?), so I'm hoping (fingers-crossed) that they have stream-lined their shipping department just a tad, and maybe I'll have my order in another 2-3 weeks? Anyone else seen a faster delivery time from Fasttech lately? Or could I just be getting my hopes up because the package hit the outgoing mailbox a few days earlier than usual, lol?

Unfortunately, it's not just NC schools... it's ALL of them! First of all... I'm all for preventing sales to minors, but just like analogs, if they want them, they WILL get them. But, branding them as "paraphernalia" only serves the agenda of our government and those special-interest groups (** cough ** big tobacco ** cough **) who want to see e-cigs outlawed or under their control. Using the schools to set the agenda of e-cigs = drug use, however far-fetched it may be... only works in their favor. All this is, is a means to an end, using the typical liberal/progressive stage-prop... "for the children"... to garner public out-cry and support for banning, regulation, and control.

I thought about one of those... less for the 510 issue, more for the ability to fold it up in my pocket and not worry about accidentally firing the coil if I forgot to turn it off... Not sure if it would fix the issue either, though? So far, the blue one seems to be working... I tested the coil with my meter... 1.76 Ohms, and the iStick is consistently reading it at 1.7, and even if I unseat/reseat it, it goes back to 1.7. Now to use it for a couple of days to see if it throws a tantrum like the silver one has been doing... -

Earthling789 replied to Earthling789's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Yeah, I love the size of them... and when they work, they work well. I can even live with the fact that you have to dial them back to get an equivalent vape, compared to another APV... I'm just not happy with these tantrums either -

Earthling789 replied to Earthling789's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Yeah, Tam, I checked for flush screws and gave it a good charge before wrapping it up. I have it unwrapped now, and attached an AeroTank to see what happens. If that works okay, I'll try a few others, and at least run it through a couple of charge cycles to test it. I know the silver one is having more issue with the Kayfun V4 than the others, but still it's not happy with any tank -
I use them until they give out... like others have said... some can keep kicking for months... some die after a week or two... there is nothing in stone to say, "change your coil every 9-days", lol EDIT: One thing I feel I should mention, though... always carry a spare coil or at least have one handy. Sometimes these coils will be working perfectly fine one minute, and die the next, and you don't want to be 50 miles from civilization without a back-up coil, tank, battery, spare juice, etc.... Been there, done that... and the T-shirts aren't that nice
-
The V4 is 22mm ONLY if using the M-tank (which is reduced juice capacity, and all polycarbonate). Using the Stainless or Stainless/glass tank sections puts the V4 much wider... just over 23mm if memory serves?

Ouch, not good news for me then... and I have one wrapped in pretty birthday paper, too... so if I have to get a replacement of my new silver one, I'm willing to bet the new blue one will need to be replaced too I guess I need to unwrap that one and try it out for a couple of days to see if it has the same issue? -
All of these Li-ion batteries have a life-span... usually after the first 100 recharges, they will only reach 90% of their original rating. After 300-500 charges, you'll be looking at 50-60% of their original rating... so they won't last forever Seeing some "fading" or lesser life out of the battery after 3-4 months is normal, and they could continue to work well for another year... or another 3-4 months... there is no real way to tell, and no guarantee they will last X-months of daily use. Tam and Bebop are spot-on with their theory of coils... an aging coil (or high-resistance coil) will make you assume weak battery. Generally, most people find 1.8 ohms to be the sweet-spot for coil resistance when paired with a Spinner or static-voltage eGo-style stick-battery.

Tam, are you using VW mode, and noticing the Wattage change, or using VV mode and noticing the Wattage change because it's reading the resistance of the coil incorrectly? If I use VW mode, and set it to 6.5W (which is like 12W on my other APV's, lol), the Wattage does not change, but I see the resistance bounce all over the place from time to time, and when it goes higher, more Voltage is applied to the coil to reach the Wattage I have set. 6V applied to my 1.4 Ohm RTA coil tends to cook my Japanese Cotton, Cajun style -

Hmmmm... you know, Tam, my newest iStick and your pair all came from the same batch .... and my older one is not having this issue, at least as far as I've noticed. I think I need to try different tanks on my old one for a week or so... then repeat the same tanks on the newer one... see if it's just specific tanks (510 issue) or a specific iStick? -

You'd think if the Chinese could clone the newest RDA/RTA a week BEFORE it was released by the authentic vendor, they could actually manage a distribution center and ship things in a timely manner??
