  1. I felt a disturbance in the Force... someone needs me to spend their money? Tam's just happy with the recommendations I've made for her... although I've yet to get her to buy an RTA, but I'm still trying, lol. When I make a recommendation, It's based on research and/or personal experience... usually more of the latter, and like my momma always said... buy QUALITY, and you'll never regret spending a few bucks more on the purchase, because you'll not have to spend that money again any time soon (if ever). Based on the things listed above, Comp is exactly right, the Apollo batteries you have are EVOD clones (or re-branded), and should work very well for you. If you want to upgrade to an all-in-one rechargeable box-style variable voltage/wattage device, I would recommend the iStick 30W over the 20W all day long, and would also recommend the Innokin MVP 2.0 or 20W models. Both MVP's are bullet-proof, work-horse devices. Another good built-in battery device is the SMY35. It's a little more stick-like than the iStick or MVP, but still packs a good charge and goes to 35W. Any of these VV/VW box-style will work well with your Nautilus
  2. I have an issue with binge-buying... I'll go months without buying anything other than a bottle of juice here or there... and then I'll drop big $$ for a couple of weeks... I went 4-months back in the summer, buying only a couple of bottles of "something different" juice, and then spent $150 buying two mech mods, batteries, charger (even though I already had a good one), and an RDA (along with Kanthal, Japanese cotton, etc). After that binge-buy... nothing until Christmas We won't even discuss what I've bought in the past 6-weeks
  3. "Shinyitus"... Yep, got a bad case of that myself... that and my OCD tells me that I when I find something I like, I need to have four of them
  4. Welcome to V|T! And, your English is far better than my French

    Aqua V2

I've not used one, but the Aqua2 gets good reviews on youtube... but take that info with a grain of salt The interesting thing is that it is usable in RTA mode (holds 4ml of juice), OR in RDA mode, capable of dual-coil builds. I agree with Comp... if you're looking for a good RTA, pick up a good Russian 91% or Kayfun Lite (or Lite Plus). Clones of each can be had for $20-30 all day long...
  6. It could be the coil... it could be the fact that your tank is cracked, broken o-ring, or base is not sealing well.... all of these will cause of failure of vacuum seal, and will allow the juice to leak into the center-tube or onto the battery. "Some" leakage onto the battery contact is normal. you just have to swab off the battery contact any time you remove the tank, and if you get a little gurgle occasionally, hold a tissue under the tank's base and blow gently through the mouthpiece/drip-tip. It will clear the excess drop or two.
  7. Yep, some don't want to, or do but have too much peer pressure to continue smoking. I gave a starter kit to a co-worker's husband back in the summer, and he stuck with it for several months... completely kicked his 2+ pack-a-day habit, but he started a new job where virtually everyone smokes (working outdoors) and according to his wife has gone back to 2 packs a day within the past month
  8. Excellent story! I hope he keeps with it. Daily (or hourly) encouragement will probably be needed for the first few weeks, but my fingers are crossed for his success!
  9. I have before Charging via USB cable is a good thing, but if you want to use it, you're tethered to the x-foot length of cable while it charges. Since it is easy to keep a few 18650's charged, and the MODs are easy to open... swapping batteries means you're still mobile! As for my cell-phone, yeah, when I'm out and about, and not able to stay tethered to a cable... swapping to a fresh battery has been done before, and would probably be done again if not for the fact that my MotoX2's battery is not removable
  10. My doctor (and I) thought I'd never quit smoking, and since I quit 11 months ago, solely by the use of vaping... he has been recommending vaping to all his smokers. He's not a rare doctor to do this. Many "real" doctors, who are educated and have common-sense, are beginning to jump on the band-wagon of vaping. Sure, long-term effects are not really known, but the desired result of quitting smoking is real, measurable, and definitely an improvement to the quality of a person's life (and lifestyle). More and more doctors are recommending vaping to those patients who smoke, and want to quit. Although, I'm sure they wouldn't admit it to the AMA or insurance companies Big-insurance doesn't want you to vape... they want you to use Chantix, patches, and gum... because those are "approved" (read: funded by premiums, backed by big-pharma) methods
  11. No help for ANY of us, lol.... I'm going to have to hide my CC from myself.... I agree, having a cable to charge these is great in a pinch, but it is sooooo much easier to pop out the exhausted battery, and replace with a fresh one, and charge the exhausted one in a proper charger I've not used the on-board charging capability of my IPV-mini yet, and probably never will, unless I'm in some extreme emergency, where the only battery I have is the dead one in the device... This is one reason manufacturers are moving to magnets in the doors... most people use an external charger, rather than the on-board charger of the mod, and magnetic doors make it much easier to swap batteries
  12. Yep, the quirks of the 20W iStick take some getting use to The Nautilus coils are only 1.6 or 1.8 Ohm as Tam pointed out, so you can't go higher there. The only option is to go lower Voltage or Wattage. I've found that the iSticks are less prone to running "hot" if they are in Voltage-mode, but even then, if I were running 3.9V (10W) on a different device, I have to translate that to 3.2-3.4V (6.8-7.7W) on the iStick to get a decent (not burnt/hot) vape. As the battery wears down a bit, they tend to smooth out a little. So it does take a little playing with them. They're not as accurate or smooth as say, an MVP, but they do work I'm using one right now with a KPT2 tank and 1.5 Ohm coil. I have to run it at 3V (6W) or I start getting a slight burnt taste. As the battery wears down, I can take it up to 3.3 (7.3W) and it will work well until it needs recharging. On my MVP, I would be running that same tank/coil combo @ 8.5-10W from the start, and never have a burnt taste.
  13. Hehehe, always glad to help you spend YOUR money (just ask Tam and Tug, lol)... It makes me feel better about my own dwindling bank account Enjoy your new toy!
  14. Yep, that IPV-mini is nearly the same weight and size, but the curved back and fire-button on the short-side make it 10x more manageable in your hand than the MVP. I stopped using my MVP when I got the iSticks, too, but now that I've had time to work with the iSticks (and their MEAN-vs-RMS quirks that force me to use them in Voltage-mode more and more), I've found new love for my MVP's stable operation, and use it as much as, if not more than, my iSticks when at home. The iSticks serve their purpose as replacements for my eGos for traveling, though. I have two more IPV's (a V2 and a V1) on the way... so I think the iSticks will become my backups for my backups, and strictly for travel Their size and cost make them perfect for travel, and I can always charge them via USB in the car, on my bike, or at the office.
  15. You got it... that is the way it works 8.5W is about right for most of my juices (running 1.5 and 1.8 Ohm coils), and the best part is that if you swap tanks, and they have different resistance coils in them, the device will auto adjust the voltage required to maintain the same 8.5W, for the same vape experience/flavor.
  16. Jason nailed the advantages of the 30W over the 20W versions. The flip screen is so that you can read it "right side up", regardless of which way you hold it, and it is roughly the same size as the 20W version (definitely smaller than the MVP). If I had to do it over, even though I've not stripped my threads on the 20W versions I have, I would have purchased 30W versions...
  17. ^^ Except the shelf-life of the product is only about 5-years, max, if unopened, and stored in a dark, cool location
  18. Well, as long at is is zeroed, even if it is not accurate on the tare, it will at least provide a relative assessment of the weight before/after for each wick. Although, I'm sure it would be nice to know if it is accurate
  19. ^^ This ^^ They're banking on the grandfather clause proposed by the FDA to eliminate the market for all but inefficient cig-a-likes... which is what Big-Tobacco WANTS to be as the only option for vapers. They know they don't work as a succession aid/device, so they will ensure their dominance in the market, aided by their buddies in government, paving the way for their success. If regulation were to pass to kill the vaping market as it is "today", you'd see vaping gear flying off the shelves like guns and ammo did a few years ago, and you better believe my stockpile of tanks, mods, coils, wire, etc would be worth twice their weight in gold!!
  20. Will raw organic cotton work... sure. Will it wick as well as processed/combed (to remove impurities, and straighten the fiber) cotton? I can't say... I would use organic cotton, rather than the processed, chemical treated, bleached, blended with unknown synthetics, white puffs you buy for $0.88/bag.
  21. Tam was a bit more blunt in what I was delicately attempting to allude to, and Comp nailed exactly what price-point I was thinking... $20 max for an unknown condition MVP. It could be the deal of the century, but I think I'd pass and just buy a new one... or if you like the iStick, do yourself a favor and skip over the 20W model, and go for the 30W model. They are much improved over the 20W
  22. Well, if it is not removable, then it is definitely a V1 Protank mini. Still not a bad tank, but IIRC, they are plastic, not Pyrex? My only concern on the MVP, if it is a V1, it's probably "tired" and may not hold a charge for long. If it is a V2.0, it depends on how "used" it is, as it may be on it's last leg for charge-cycles. I've had my V2.0 for nearly a year now, and it still works like a champ and lasts 2 days (easily) on a charge, but I've taken care of it, and it's probably still got another year of life left. So, I'd ask the question on when it was purchased, was it stored "discharged" or "full", how often has it been used, etc. You can buy a NEW MVP 2.0 from several online vendors for < $40 (Vaporbeast.com has them listed @ $33.32)... so if it were me, I'd see if you can get him down on the price
  23. Nope, there's a distinct line at the drip-tip, so it's a 2... it's removable
