Vacation? Did someone say vacation? I'll take TWO! I'll add one thing to George's answer... on the RTA or cartridge coils, one additional indication it's time to change them is they will suddenly become tighter to draw. This is because the coil gunks-up and slows the air-flow due to crud on the coil and dark build-up on the cotton.

ONLY Pharmacy Compounded Juice

After we check them for loose-change, of course -
Sounds to me like your coils are not balanced (same resistance on each side), and cotton bursting into flames is almost unheard of, unless the cotton was extremely dry, which should not have happened unless your "few drops" didn't reach that particular piece of wick. Pull both coils, and trash them. Rebuild two new IDENTICAL coils of twice the resistance you are targeting... if you want 0.5 Ohm from your RDA, then you must build two, identical 1.0 Ohm coils. Ensure they are seated firmly, and the screws are TIGHT. Then, most importantly, use your Ohm reader (if you don't have one, you need to get one, yesterday) to read the resistance and check for shorts before placing it on your MOD and firing it. Test-fire the coils to ensure proper burn (inside > out) and tweak them with tweezers until you get the proper burn. Do this BEFORE you add wick and attempt to use it. Safety First... safety second... safety always!

Buddy, if I could shift the winds to blow this to the Southwest, I would I was looking at my yard yesterday, thinking "I need to cut this grass", and today, it's a moat again, with little sprigs of green showing through.... Maybe it will dry out enough by Easter Sunday so I can get it cut before the next "week-long" rain shows up... forecast calls for rain from Monday through next Sunday -
Yep, I've found the BVC flood faster than the BDC, but they both flooded, and eventually leaked for me. Hopefully, not having it snug enough was the issue for yours.

No o-ring that I'm aware of, but I can tell you that my Nautilus (full-size) leaks like crazy when left sitting in the rack for more than a few hours, especially if not tip-top full... I've had to clean up juice leakage more than once from under it

Advise needed Eleaf 30w and Protank3 2.2 ohm coil
Earthling789 replied to vmshaw's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Well, it could... some coils just go bad within a tank or two. I assumed you had tried a fresh coil, fresh juice, and cleaned the tank, but that is what I get for making assumptions, lol. Dump the juice, clean the tank, and use a fresh coil... this will eliminate any issues with residual burnt juice. If a clean tank and fresh coil solves the issue, then you're golden. If it doesn't, then the iStick may be the cause (producing more power than indicated on the screen, like the 20W models do). The iSticks are warranted for a year by Eleaf, IIRC, so if it is defective, Eleaf should repair/replace it, but you'll have to ship it to them. -

It has poured the rain all night... sounded like someone has been pouring water from a giant bucket onto my roof! We picked up 5" of rain since Midnight, and more on the way (through tomorrow). Flash flooding was so bad this morning that they cancelled school!! -
Advise needed Eleaf 30w and Protank3 2.2 ohm coil
Earthling789 replied to vmshaw's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I had the same issue with both of my iStick 20W... even at the lowest Wattage settings and 2.0 Ohm coils, everything tasted burnt, but I could put that same tank on my Cloupor mini @ 12W, and the taste was fantastic. How long have you had that 30W iStick? If not very long, I would consider exchanging it for another at the store (or wherever you bought it) because it may be defective? From what I've understood, the 20W models were the only ones prone to this issue, and the 30W and 50W models perform much better. -
Loving making my own juices... but...

You make a good point, Comp.... not about Tam being picky, lol... we already knew that but you have indirectly understated the the reason there are 50,000,000 different flavors and intensities of flavors from hundreds of thousands of different vendors... I knew every palate was different, but when two people say they want 10ml of "Strawberry", and you mix 20ml then pour it into two 10ml bottles... one person says it's too strong, one says it's too weak (and not sweet enough) Now I know why you mix most everything "to-order", and I envy your experience and knowing what your clients like, too! -

Tam, I think you may have the best idea... I'm not opposed to making juice for anyone, just don't want to make it into a full-time gig, and definitely don't want to lose any money (or friends) over the deal I think I'll take your suggestion and make a price sheet (business-card size) and when someone asks me to make them a bottle of "whatever", I can hand them a card. If they're willing to pay at that point, I'll take the time to mix it up Hmmm... now... Since time is money, is $100 for 30ml too much? Reminds me of the classic line from Volunteers (Tom Hanks): Chung Mee: Opium is my business. The bridge mean more traffic. More traffic mean more money. More money mean more power. Lawrence Bourne III: Yeah, well, before I commit any of that to memory, would there be anything in this for me? Chung Mee: Speed is important in business. Time is money. Lawrence Bourne III: You said opium was money. Chung Mee: Money is Money. Lawrence Bourne III: Well then, what is time again? -
I just checked... I'm on FF 37.0, and the spell checker is working just fine... Perhaps one of your settings or a blocker is stopping the spell-checker?

Yeah, this is probably more of a rant first, before my question I've been making my own juices to suit MY tastes, and apparently everyone around me who vapes has noticed the non-commercial labels on my bottles, and many of them have commented on the "flavorful aroma" of my juices... I never got into this to make a profit, or even to provide more than an occasional bottle to my brother-in-law... I stated DIY so I could save a bunch of $ and mix flavors the way I wanted them to taste... So, why is it once your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers find out you make your own juices (like you're now capable of performing magic), do they immediately start asking, "Can you mix me up some Mango Peach with a hint of Lemon and Sweet-Cream, not too sweet, oh, and maybe with a little Smokey-Caramel after-taste?" (-- yeah, they don't ask for much, do they? --)? And then, they get upset when you tell them "no", or they don't take "no" for an answer, and bug you for two weeks (daily)... Then, if you do give-in and make them a bottle of some concoction, they get upset when you hold out your hand for payment? I mean, seriously, I DO have $$ invested in that glass/plastic bottle AND the ingredients IN IT (not even counting my time), and can't justify giving them away! I guess my question is, do I continue to say "I'm sorry, but I don't sell my creations (nor do I give them away)"... or, do I just give in and sell a few here and there and let everyone else pay for my supplies? I mean, I could potentially make $100 this weekend, just providing a few bottles to family and a couple of co-workers....

It was snowing here on Saturday, and we've been in the low 70's for the past few days... rain tomorrow and Friday, back to 40's for the weekend... I just wish it would pick a temp and stick with it for at least a week -
There I was sitting at a red light......
Earthling789 replied to cany's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
I do the opposite... I try to take up as much lane as possible, closer to the center-lane-stripe or left third so I'll be in direct line with the driver of the vehicle behind me... I also have massively bright LED brake lights and an auxiliary flashing LED on my license plate frame to alert drivers to "HEY, MORON, I'M STOPPING NOW!" -

Earthling789 replied to cany's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
Turn signals? Vehicles still come with those?? Around here, stop signs are "optional", red-lights are "suggestions", speed-limits are "minimums", and apparently lane stripes are invisible (or people are yellow/white color-blind)! I'm still amazed that people must come to a complete stop before making a right-turn.... and why is it that people think 90 is a good speed on a rural road or residential area, but 55 is too fast for the Interstate's fast-lane (yet people in the slow lane doing 80 get "pushed")? -

I have come to the conclusion that 90% of the population need their driver's license revoked! Glad you weren't hurt, and very glad you weren't on the bike when it happened!! -
advice or input request about bottom coils
Earthling789 replied to Daniyelleeeee81's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
Dual coil, single coil, vertical coil... it does not matter... like everyone else has indicated... the darker the juice, the faster that coil will fail... The thicker the juice (high VG ratio), the faster that coil will fail... The sweeter the juice, the faster that coil will fail.... And you have ALL THREE! Like Tam suggested, move to 50/50 juices, or even 60/40, if you don't mind the throat hit of higher PG. Stop the extra shots of sweetener if you can, and try a different brand of your favorite flavor... chances are, a different brand won't be as dark, and won't be so bland that you need to add sweet or flavor shots! -
Are Mech Mods Going The Way of The DoDo?
Earthling789 replied to Jeffb's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I seriously doubt they will go away... mostly because so many of them just look so darn nice But, for me... yeah, mine have been cleaned, polished, and stored away ... waiting for the time when I can convert my old cigar humidor into a "smoking" display case for my mechs I've seen the light on "regulated" devices... which is the key to consistent vaping, regardless of high-power. I'll take my IPV-mini's over a mech any day of the week... even the V1, 30W models (which are in rotation with Cloupor minis as my daily rigs)! -
A year ago today (3/31), I smoked my last cigar... I bought my starter-kit (a twin-pack eGo-T and Ce4 with charger, carry-case and 60ml of juice) for a whopping $72... yes, I still have the receipt..., and was determined to give it two weeks to see if I could kick the analog habit... I figured since I had just spent nearly two week's worth of tobacco money, I had better not waste it Well, I've come a long way from my eGo's and Ce4's... dozens of Kanger tanks, RTA's RDA's, MVP, Mech-mods, and now higher-end APV's... I've given many devices a try, and finally settled on my preferred set-ups of RTA's and IPV-minis / Cloupor-minis... but still cling to my AeroTanks, because you just can't kill them I've tried liters of e-liquids, spent hundreds of dollars in trial-and-error, and found my ADV's are as cheap as a decent fast-food meal every week... even cheaper now that I've found I can DIY and duplicate the flavor (and make it even better, too). I've spent a small fortune, but still less money on vaping than I would have spent supporting Big-Tobacco or the cigar cartels... I've paid forward as much as I've kept... made many, many friends here on this forum and in the local community of vapers... and helped to educate and convert dozens of ex-smokers to the healthier world of vaping! I feel good about myself, and have never felt better in my own body... I breathe better, have more energy, more stamina, and have actually lost 15-lbs over the past year (without even really trying)!!! I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone on this forum for all the help and encouragement you've given me when I was starting out, and when I was learning about something new. YOU have made all the difference in my road to becoming (and staying) analog-free for a whole year. I'm so glad I found this forum, and I'm proud to be a contributing member, helping others reach their first-year milestones!

My mother passed in '95, and when we were clearing the basement, we found cases of canned green beans with '88 and '89 on the top of the cans. This past Thanksgiving, I cracked two jars open for dinner, and OMG those were the best beans I had ever eaten! So, now we're saving the rest for special occasions I grew up that way... can everything you get from the garden, and freeze (or smoke) all your butchered meats (cow, pig, deer, rabbit, turkey, geese, etc)... we ate VERY well for pennies per meal. Wow, I really am craving a good, smoked country ham about now -
Well.... Safety first!
