Congrats B! Well said statement from your podium, and I wholeheartedly agree! Tomorrow starts your journey to year #3... and #4... and #60 is right around the corner

I like the IPV3 and the Sigelei 100W+ if you need more than 70W. The Sigelei feels a bit "different" in my hand than the IPV3, but it's a matter of personal preferences

Even worse... their "cool" parents buy those re-loadable CC's for them, and keep them topped-off... that is, if they are not providing them a real CC! One of my co-workers recently mentioned that her middle-school daughter needed her CC topped off, because she had went on a shopping-spree with a couple other girls... Despite so many levels of wrong (in my book), she was rewarding bad behavior of spending without earning by giving her even more money on the CC.... People I went to HS and college with, who worked hard for what they had back then (without parents helping or buying for them) are the very same parents today that give their kids $60K sports-cars (while they drive $1000 beaters), high-limit CC's, cell-phones, tablets, motorcycles, pay their parking tickets... and let them stay out all night (despite they, themselves had to be home by 10pm even on weekends)!

This is the #1 best piece of evidence against Big Tobacco's push to have ONLY cig-a-likes as the legal choice for consumers. The second study, published in Nicotine and Tobacco Research, found that people trying to quit smoking were more successful if they used a refillable tank model of e-cigarette, which allows the user to vary the nicotine content and flavours in the liquid it contains. Only 25% of the 587 e-cigarette users had tank models which they used daily, but of these, 28% had given up tobacco smoking after a year compared with 13% of smokers who did not use e-cigarettes. The numbers who gave up while using cigalikes, or using tank models on an occasional basis, were similar to those who did not use e-cigarettes at all. Only 5% of people using cigalikes infrequently had quit smoking after a year, which the researchers say is concerning given that most of the cigalike brands are manufactured by the tobacco industry. I've been saying this for a year... all evidence shows cig-a-likes (and infrequent use of any e-cig) do NOT provide enough support for quitting smoking. I also appreciate the article pushing for higher Nicotine levels as the best way to quit, although they didn't go into depth as to why this works.. but we vapers who have quit smoking know the reason is to help push through the dependence on the other 4000-7000 addictive additives found in cigarettes!

I noticed humidity plays a big factor... I was vaping at one of my son's soccer games lat fall, and the humidity was probably 90% that evening... every time I took a hit from my rig (50/50 juice), the vapor just "hung" there around me before the wind moved it away I'm sure people thought I was cloud-chasing, but I was just using a KPT2 on my MVP Conversely, when humidity outside is very low (like 20%), vapor just dissipates quickly and you feel like (visually) that you're vaping 90% PG juices....

I agree, they don't normally hold up on flavor/vapor past 30ml of juice going through them. The coil I'm using in my AT right now is the same coil I started fresh, along with a fresh bottle of juice (very light, not very sweet), and the coil is still producing flavor/vapor quite well, even though the last of the bottle was put into the tank last night. I'll probably change the coil when I start a fresh bottle later today... but still no leakage Glocknug, the info you listed above is pretty standard for any clearo. All of them have the potential to leak, and as Bebob said, that chance of leakage increases the longer you use that coil. If your juices are very dark or very sweet, the chances of leaking a little juice onto the battery increases (but not a guarantee). One thing I would suggest is that you pick up a Kanger Air-flow Control base (like the ones used by the V1 AeroTanks). They create a barrier between the coil and the battery that will "catch" any coil leakage and hold it in the bottom of the base, keeping it from the battery. They also provide you with adjustable air-flow for your KPT3. I use them with all my KPT2 tanks It is not a fool-proof method, and does not stop coils from leaking, but it does add a layer of protection that was not there before. Just remember when using these bases, after every fill-up or two, to pull the coil from the base and swab out any drips that have accumulated... otherwise, juice will pond in the base, eventually leaking out of the air holes or cause connection issues between the coil and the base.
-
I've not used the full-size KPT3's, but I do use the AeroTanks... which are KPT3's with air-flow bases (and use BDC like the KPT3 minis). I've only had one leak on those in the past year, and it was just a faulty o-ring! I'm at a loss as to why these would leak so regularly that there would be a warning with the tanks... I'm blown-away by that! Are you using the original BDC or the updated ones with the "sleeve" that covers the wick? Although it shouldn't matter... I've used both styles, and I get at least 10-12 tank-fulls use out of a coil (at least a 30ml bottle through them) before they start to lose flavor or give a burnt-flavor due to gunk build-up... but no leakage....
-
I've had my MVP 2.0 for a year now... and still use it several times a week. I think it's been ~2-weeks since I last charged it, and it's been through several KPT2 tank-fulls in that time. Yes, they are bullet-proof function and reliability.

I cannot recommend the IPV-mini enough, paired with Samsung 25r batteries and you get a full day of heavy use (two days of moderate vaping). If you want something a bit smaller, the Cloupor mini is excellent (and portable), and it also uses an 18650 battery. 30W is plenty for most users, and most tanks, even sub-tanks. You'll need more than 30W only if you are sub-ohming below 0.5 Ohm coils. For the price, only a few bucks more, the IPV-mini2 (70W) is a great deal, and will give you that extra power when you need it, if you need it later. Either of the IPV-minis feel GREAT in your hand, too.... If you don't want a replaceable-battery APV, the Eleaf iStick 50W is a good choice too. Plenty of power, huge battery life, and capable of firing sub-ohm coils... and you can get them for under $50 (with nothing more to buy).

Tam and I have a lot in common apparently... I bar-tended in college, and even took the classes to be a "Mixologist" back in the late '90s... because I wanted to bar-tend on the weekends to pick up some extra cash, and the only bar-tenders anyone would hire were 'licensed' or 'slutty'... and I didn't fit the latter One of my favorite drinks to make (and made me a lot of tips) was the Tequila-Sunset (or sunrise)... Basically, you mix a screwdriver but substitute Tequila instead of Vodka... leave 1/4-1/2" of the glass empty, then slow-pour Blackberry Brandy into the center of the glass until full (use Grenadine or Cherry Brandy for a 'Sunrise'). The Brandy is heavier, and will go to the bottom of the glass and "explode" through the OJ and ice, making a beautiful purple/orange or red/orange sunset/sunrise color-swirl... and it tastes pretty good too I've also layered enough Rattlesnake-shots to fill a tanker-truck... I use to pop a huge cherry into the top of the tall shot-glasses, and it makes the alcohol dribble slowly down the sides of the glass (you can also use the back of a spoon, but the cherry has more eye-appeal)... making them easier to layer the different viscosity alcohols. Leave the cherry on the top, and enjoy the tips! Also, by leaving the cherry in the shot-glass, you use less alcohol, so you maximize profits... Personally, I enjoy Bourbon or Scotch straight... and most any mixed drink with Vodka...

Is getting e-liquid on your skin harmful?
Earthling789 replied to MrMotivapour's topic in DIY e Liquid Discussion
Just in case this is a legit question, and not just another troll... Everything is harmful in large enough quantities... drink a few gallons of water in a short period of time, and you could die. Too much salt in a day, and you can die.. drink the entire keg of Guinness, and you could die of alcohol poisoning... seeing a pattern yet? You're VAPING the same thing, so how can it be different to vape it than to get it on your skin?? Use some logic and common sense, and stop listening to the propaganda-machine of the Ministry of Public Health and the Media!!! If you are a smoker (former smoker), getting a little e-liquid on your skin will not even bother you at all. The Nicotine is absorbed into the skin rapidly, which is why you should keep e-liquids and e-cigs AWAY from children and pets, because exposure is rapid. Children, non-smokers, and pets can get sick from Nicotine, because it is a stimulant (NOT A TOXIN, NOT A CARCINOGEN). To achieve lethal toxicity levels (for an avg adult), you would have to absorb/consume 500-1000mg of pure nicotine (and many -mostly smokers- have survived MUCH higher doses). At 1.8% dilution levels, that's 18mg per ml.... or 27.8ml (roughly a full fluid-oz) to equal a 500mg dose... or 55.5ml (roughly 2 fluid-oz) to equal a 1000mg dose. Therefore, a few drops of e-liquid on your skin... NO, it won't poison you, but you should minimize your exposure (again, common sense)! Those of us who regularly handle 100mg/ml bulk-Nicotine exercise extreme caution, using Nitrile or latex gloves, arm protection, goggles, and even face-masks to protect us from accidental drips or spatters. No, a spatter of 100mg/ml is not lethal, but can make you experience nausea and vomiting, excessive salivation, abdominal pain, pallor, sweating, hypertension, tachycardia, ataxia, tremor, headache, dizziness, muscle fasciculations, and seizures. Interesting Factoid.... The toxicity of Nicotine in Rats is 10X the tolerance level than humans... so why are all these labs using rats/mice to study the effects of Nicotine or smoking? -
I dont need it ........................

Yes, I will get one, but only if I can get it for less than $40, because I don't really need it! I've made my mind up on that one -

VapeNW.com has them for $45.99 MyVaporStore.com has them at $47.95 Sweet-Vapes.com has them at $47.50 Everywhere else I've looked has them priced over $50, and one site I saw a few weeks ago, had them on sale (or maybe it was a coupon deal) for $39.99, but they sold out quickly... they were gone before I was able to snag one. -

Wish lists for vaping gear is a lot like the Christmas lists an average 5-yr old will make... several pages long At least the prices on the iStick 50W are coming down... -
I like the visual of the gears too, but not so much on the front... makes it harder to see the hands, or at least it is for my tired eyes A couple of my Seiko watches have the crystal backs, so you can see the inner workings them from the rear... I think they are called "presentation backs"?

Oh, I second and third the suggestion of Samsung 25r batteries and Nitecore charger! For the charger, I would suggest spending the extra $2-4 on the i4 (four-bay) charger, rather than the i2 (two-bay). And they make a digital version, which is fancy, but doesn't charge any better than the standard i-series! -
Oh, and thanks to everyone for congrats on the anniversary... I feel like I've been there far longer though

Tug... the Omega 007 Seamaster Constellation Chrono-Diver @ $4800 starting price is a bit out of my league, too Maybe someday I'll hit the lottery and buy one of those, and a nice Breitling too? Of course, if I hit the lottery, I'll buy a Bentley... they come with a Breitling clock in the dash, hahaha... Comp, I agree... with a computer usually in front of me and my cell always on my side or within arm's-reach (or a clock somewhere on a wall), I'm rarely without the "time". With the work I use to do, I had gotten away from wearing watches (always got in the way), and of course there's the big white stripe on my wrist in the summers, because I always forgot to take off my watch when working outside, lol Tam, I agree on the quality of Seiko... I've always been drawn to them, and own five (one of them being older than me, and still works beautifully), as well as a couple of Pulsar (made by Seiko) that had been given to me over the years. To me, Seiko is the best bang-for-your-buck, and lately prices are not much different than Timex, Fossil, Citizen, Invicta, etc. Jeff, Amazon has a black (fake) leather 12 watch case with grey cloth interior for $19 Prime. I was just looking at it! I have decided to start wearing some of these... at least the ones in good working condition (like most of the Seiko's and Bulovas)... I think it will add to my wardrobe at work It seems a shame to just leave them in a box....

My company recently sent me a 15-yr anniversary gift of a really nice Seiko Chronograph (solar) watch, complete with company logo, date, and my name engraved on the back. (I would have preferred a raise, but hey, the watch is a nice gesture, lol) As it is too nice of a watch for daily wear, I put it away in my watch case, along with my other nicer watches, and suddenly realized, I need a bigger watch case Without even realizing it, I've started a nice collection of finer watches, once you add in the ones I inherited from my grandfathers, uncles, and my dad... Omega, Benrus, Bulova, Citizen, Seiko, Pulsar, Caravelle, Hamilton, and of course a fine selection of (non-functional) Timex, Casio, and a couple of unknown-brand cheap-o's! Sadly, no Rolex, Breitling, or Tag Heuer's.... but, the Omega was my grandfather's pride-and-joy, because he was determined to "own a $100 watch before he died", and finally bought one in the 1960's Anyone else suddenly find themselves with a decent watch collection they didn't intend to have?

Yes, for the price, and the quality of device, the Cloupor is on the top of my suggestion list. The IPV-mini is just so darn comfortable and a solid-device Put one in your hand, and you'll see what I mean! I'm using one right now with my Russian 91% @ 1.3 Ohm and 12.5W... and the flavor is amazing For the tanks you listed above, a 30W device will service you well, but I won't knock the 70W IPV-mini either... if you use the 0.5 Ohm coils with the Nano or Atlantis, you'll eventually want more than 30W of power, depending on the juice, that is. To me, 30W devices handle the needs of the masses... probably 95-98% of all vapers. 50-70W devices are for those who have that at least one RDA or sub-ohm tank and regularly build (or use coils) below 0.8 Ohms... The exception here is the iStick 50W... many people that buy it are not looking for 50W power, they are looking at the 4600mAh battery!! 70W+ devices are for the cloud-chasers and super-sub-ohmers that regularly build below 0.5 Ohm rigs. I've built my RDA @ 0.3 Ohms and pushed it to see how far I could go before the juice tasted like burning trash... and that happened just after 55W. At 40W, it wasn't bad on flavor, but was a tad too warm for my liking, lol. -
OMG... THAT made my night! +1000
-
Those little 2-tablespoon medicine cups come in real handy for these occasions... I open the fill port and crack the top (or bottom) and let the juice flow into one of those cups. Getting it back into a tank is fairly easy... put the juice into an empty bottle (or needle bottle), or use a syringe to suck it up and put it back into the tank. [Yeah, I've done this once or twice ]
-
First rule of making a new batch of a new flavor... make a small batch of 5-10ml. If it is too sweet, tart, bland, etc, you can adjust your mix and try again with another 5ml, etc... Once you get the flavor you want, then you can scale up to larger quantities. As for too sweet, Comp is right, mixing in more VG will potentially make it sweeter, and will mute the actual flavors. I would suggest pulling a few ml of it into a smaller bottle and add in sour apple, lemon (as Tam suggested), citrus, or other tart flavors. Once you figure out how much new flavor you needed to get what you want, scale that up to mix with your remainder of the 300ml you mixed. Tossing VG or flavors randomly into the big-batch may just ruin the whole thing and waste it?

Thank you for that introduction, Tug Tam is spot-on with the IPV-mini V1 (30W) or V2 (70W). Both are the same physical form, and both perform very well. They also fit nicely in your hand! The IPV-minis are also only Variable-Wattage mode... which is fine for the majority of us. The Cloupor mini is my daily rig that goes to work with me, or traveling... it is the exact same physical size as the iStick 20W, without the rounded back, but it's heft and dimensions feel much better in your hand than the iStick. The Cloupor also allows you to flip the screen so it can be read to the left or the right. They also are Variable-Voltage or Variable-Wattage modes. Prices... the Cloupor mini has my vote, as you can get them for $30 (plus shipping) from VapeNW.com, and they are available in black or silver. The IPV-minis are $45-55 for the V1, and $60-70 for the V2. Color options are black, silver, gold (champagne), blue, and hot-pink. The finish on the IPV's are not quite as durable (at least my black one isn't wearing that well) as the Cloupor... daily use of my Cloupor shows almost no wear! There are other good options out there, especially if you want more than 30W of power... but the best bang-for-your-buck will be the Cloupor mini, IMO... BTW, I may push the Cloupor (I have two of them), but I also own four of the IPV-minis (three V1's, and a V2)... so I use all of them equally... I just like the portability and price (a well as the function) of the Cloupor... the IPV-minis just feel great in your hand. I carry the Cloupor's to work because if I'm going to damage one while away from home, I'd rater it be the cheaper one! -
Yes, sounds like the mini might have an issue as well... check the bottom of the 510 connection. The center pin on the tank may be pushed in (up) and preventing it from making contact with the center pin on the battery. The tank's center pin should be a tiny bit lower than the threads of the 510, or at least flush with it. It is spring-loaded, and sometimes juice gums-up the spring and the pin won't push-down like it should. Also check the center pin on the new battery, and make sure it's not pushed down too far to make contact with the tank.
