Memorial Day Weekend!
Earthling789 replied to bcartervol98's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
Back when I still had a house-boat on the river, we'd fillet our catches, wrap them in a foil pouch with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and lots of butter... and toss them on the grill. I miss having a boat, but I don't miss the cost of upkeep -
IMO, Bestfire (BRC) batteries are best used in flashlights and devices where low-discharge is required. These are not high-drain, high-amp batteries and therefore are not suitable for vaping. Their chargers are also quite cheap, and downright dangerous. I also seriously doubt their claims of 30/60/90 Amp ratings... at best, my guess is 6A, unless they are re-wraping other batteries, in which case you may get a 2A battery, you may get a 20A battery... For your best bet, I would stick with Efest, Samsung or LG batteries, and buy a Nitecore or Efest charger. Don't skimp on your battery and charger quality!!

Heading to 95+ today... We're going to jump on the bikes for a good, afternoon ride, and then come home for some burgers on the grill before the rain starts. We're expecting thunderstorms and rain, rain, rain for the next 3 or 4 days (starting around sunset tonight) Oh well, at least the rain will be during the work-week, and not spoiling our weekend? -
Tam, you're making me hungry!! That sounds delicious... reminds me of the green chili sauces I enjoyed in Mexico many years ago... I spent several months there for work, and learned to enjoy many of the native dishes. Most of them were not "hot", but full of flavorful spices. The green chili pepper sauce was a favorite for breakfast

I always carry an extra 18650 (or two) for my box-mod. If I'm going to be out for a few days, I carry a LOT more stuff, lol. Look into the Efest 3-battery, zipper cases. I picked up 5 of them a while back for a buck each, and they hold a Cloupor mini and an Aero-Tank, or 3 batteries, or three 10-15ml bottles (plus a small screwdriver and spare coil or two), or two 30ml bottles, or combos of the above... you get the picture. They have a spring-clip so they attach to my backpack or belt-loop, and they are just so dang handy! My daily carry for work is a spare battery, two 10ml bottles, screwdriver, and spare coil in one of those cases... Another case holds my backup Cloupor mini (with battery installed), clean AeroTank, and spare coil. I could last for 3 days (or more) with that set-up.

I like spicy stuff... and I like plain white rice with Cajun seasonings, and add in seared, buttered corn... OMG! You can make a meal out of that, alone! The chicken was dressed with butter, a few dashes of Italian Dressing, and Cajun spices as well... smoked (indirect heat) @ 325 for 2-hours. You can also do them in the oven (shallow pan, lined with foil), or on a charcoal grill (but you have to be careful not to put them on too soon, or near the coals, or they dry-out). If I use the oven or charcoal grill, I add extra Italian Dressing to help keep them moist until the skin crusts and seals the juices in.... I put jalapeño in dang near everything... Hamburgers? Check! Tuna? Check! Scrambled Eggs? Check! Many years ago, my Dr. advised me to eat fresh jalapeño to help with my ulcer. It sounded crazy, but IT WORKS! There is an enzyme in the pepper that actually helps to repair damage to the stomach lining. Yes, it was searing pain for the first few days, but within a week, the ulcer was gone! Peppers in a jar also work, but not quite as well as fresh... I love BOTH, lol

Amen!! I'll preach for Tam (until she can take over, lol)... You can never have too many backups... either for you, or to help out someone in need... I've left the house with four, working devices before, and 12-hours later, pulled into the driveway with one malfunctioning device, two dead ones, and one that was on life-support I've also ran into a fellow motorcycle rider at a gas station who had his Spinner crap-out on him at that moment. He was about to buy a pack of smokes, so I gave him one of my back-up eGo-T batteries (and a quick lesson on backups ). Most days, I leave the house with backups that never get touched, but there are those rare occasions where you'll go through the lot of them

Took the corn off the cob so I could blend it with the rice... OMG it's sooooo good that way!
-
I may pick up the IPV4, but I'm really looking forward to the IPV D2 as well...

The standard BDC heads that go in the Aerotank-series and KPT3? Yes, those are silica wicks. The newest versions have a sleeve that covers the wicks:
-
Which Kanger coil did you use? The OCC sub-ohm coils for the SubTank? If so, they don't use silica, they use Organic Cotton (which will burn if you don't let them saturate). Tam is correct... once you burn cotton, no matter what you do, it will give a burnt taste, and if you leave it in the tank a while, it will transfer that burnt flavor to the juice, and even a new coil won't help the flavor. Best to dump the juice, clean the tank, and start with a fresh coil if that happens
-
I have a bottle of Mad Alchemist Cinnamon/Raspberry that I'll add a few drops to different juices, to kick a whole new dimension to them. I also have been adding a little Blackberry to some of my bakery and tobacco-base flavors, and as Tam said... Vanilla Custard can smooth out just about any rough flavors (and adds a nice creamy exhale and aftertaste Some of the juices I wasn't too fond of originally can be made quite good with a little Custard or Cream added.

If you can't find a good syringe to use... you can always get a medication syringe from the local pharmacy. They won't have a needle-tip, but you can get them up to 10ml, and they come in quite handy. Are they accurate? Meh, close enough...

You're welcome! It's a quick-fix to adjust nicotine levels when you can't get the mg you want, to thin-out a thick juice (using PG), or thicken-up a thin juice (using VG). Just be aware that it may mute the flavors a bit, but sometimes that can work to your advantage, too?

Airstream Prototype RDA

Looks pretty cool... I'm not sure if it's a novelty, or functional? Wouldn't mind trying one though. I agree it would be a pain to re-build, re-wick, and I wonder how much juice/condensate will hang on the blades and eventually end up in your mouth? -
Grilling some chicken tonight (thighs, legs, breasts) along with corn on the cob, baked potato, and a bunch of Cajun-spiced rice... YUM!
-
Yah, for about a week or so, lol... Welcome to the forum!
-
Depends on the price... and how they perform. If they're even at least as good as the IPV-mini... I'll probably end up with at least two of them
-
That's a fantastic deal on the coils... I don't think I would take the time to coil that many for $2.86 You'd probably be hard-pressed to buy that much wire for that price! You'll love that cotton! I've been using it for nearly a year, and barely knocked the top off the bag, and it is excellent material... just as Comp (he tested it against other top-brands).
-
Of course they do... Just when I thought I didn't need any more box-mods
-
Plus.... On a Mech like the Nemesis, you'll run from full-charge (4.2V) down to about half-charge (3.8V or 3.9V), and that is when you'll diminish the power (Wattage) to the point where you'll decide to swap-out the battery. On a regulated device, the battery will last much longer because the circuitry will allow you to get the same Wattage until the battery is depleted (cut-offs are usually around 3.4V), so you'll actually get twice the vaping-time out of them that way, and you won't damage the battery either. I switched to using a regulated device over my mechs for 99.5% of my vaping. I have four beautiful mechs sitting on my shelf, and three of them haven't been touched in about 6-months. A regulated device gives me a lot more vaping-time between battery swaps, and consistent Wattage was the biggest plus!

There are a couple of great flavors I found a last fall, which were only in 3 or 6 mg, because they were marketed as "dripping juices" (max VG). I asked if they would make a 12 mg, but they declined... So, I thinned them a bit with PG based Nicotine and they worked out very well in a tank. Might be something to consider?

Last week has been rain, rain, more rain, and high temps in the 50's... YAY, the holiday weekend will be clear, sunny, and 85+!! Time to climb aboard the motorcycle and clear out the cranial-cobwebs this weekend (the grass can be cut later, and the other honey-do list items can wait, lol) -
Ego one overheating?
Earthling789 replied to BrandonS101's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
What's the coil resistance? Which tank? What Wattage are you using? It sounds like the Wattage is too high for your coil, and chain-vaping or long drags are causing it to get way too hot... boiling the juice, making it pop and sizzle? -
Are rebuilds going to be dead?
Earthling789 replied to Vapor Guy's topic in General Vaping Discussion
With a rebuildable, you get what you want, opposed to what the manufacturers want you to have. For example, I prefer my RTA builds at 1.4 Ohm, and my RDA at 0.9 Ohm or 0.75 Ohm... cookie-cutter, mass-production builds don't hit what I want, and it seems the sub-ohm tank craze thinks everyone wants 0.2, 0.3, or 0.5 Ohm builds. I've seen 0.8 Ohm cartridge coils, but from there, you get 1.0 or 1.2... I've nothing against the cookie-cutter builds, per-se, but but I want full control sometimes... and my builds seem to last longer, too. Rebuildables also allow us to configure the cotton (or whatever you're using) the way we like it, not a specified diameter, length, quality, etc.
