  1. I was drinking 2+ pots (yes, I said pots) of coffee daily, before 1pm! I was also chugging down upwards of a half-gallon of Mt. Dew daily, along with several liters of water, tea, etc. My body was use to extreme levels of caffeine daily, that I could drink a pot of coffee before bedtime and sleep like a log! I quit the coffee and cola cold-turkey about 2-months ago... and after two weeks of horrible caffeine withdrawals (headaches, stomach upset, irritability), I'm free of caffeine now too Because of that, however, I have increased my water intake to over a gallon daily (still partake in the occasional adult beverage, single glass of tea in a restaurant, and ONE cola per week, if I've been a good boy, lol). The doctor says my blood-work has improved greatly, although it wasn't anything bad before... and my kidney and liver function has increased efficiency as well (based on blood-work). I've also lost 10-lbs of water-weight (over a gallon of retained water), even though I'm drinking that much daily! Caffeine is not a bad thing, but when you are taking in as much daily as I was... it can reduce function/efficiency of your kidneys, liver, pancreas, gall-bladder, and can/will cause restrictions in blood vessels (causing swelling in ankles/feet/mid-section due to water retention to combat the excess caffeine). Caffeine increases your heart-rate, and because of capillary restriction, it can even affect your eye-sight... Caffeine is addictive, yes, and the more you have, the more your body needs to sustain the effect. Everything in moderation...
  2. That is the standard straight-muffler-style drip-tip for the KPT3 mini, yes. I think it is one reason I like them so much?
  3. Welcome to VT! Spearmint is a great enhancer to juices (like Peppermint, Cinnamon, Wintergreen, etc.). To me, Spearmint mixes well with fruit flavors like Blackberry, Blueberry, [insert fruit here]... Coffee flavors... Tobacco flavors... and some even mix it with bakery flavors; however, I'm not a fan of Spearmint with my Birthday Cake
  4. Caffeine is not absorbed by the body the same way Nicotine is. Nicotine can be absorbed by the skin, aerosolized, liquid, solid, and is absorbed at 99% rate, regardless of method. Heat increases the absorption rate to increase perceived effects... Caffeine is best absorbed in liquid form, ingested into the stomach, and processed into the blood-stream by the kidneys/intestines. Ingestion has an absorption rate of 99%, but takes up to 45-min to feel the effects. Caffeine gum and sprays are absorbed into the bloodstream through the mouth and throat, but only at the level of 50-75% the rate of an equal volume ingested into the stomach. Caffeine "could" be added to e-liquids, but to get the equivalent of a cup of coffee, you'd have to vape 300mg (or a liter of 33% solution), and it would take 45-min for the effects to be felt. Basically, you'd have to drown in the stuff, and wouldn't get much benefit for the effort
  5. I love my KPT3 minis! Even though I have plenty of larger, or nicer, tanks... the KPT3 mini is my go-to for sampling new flavors and for when I'm riding my bike or mowing the lawn! You can't beat their function and portability
  6. I just ordered four more Samsung 25r... I thought about the eFest batteries, but realized they weren't worth the extra cost, when 2500mAh and 20A is will within my operational limits/needs... and @ $5.45 each ($21.80 shipped) for the Samsung's, I couldn't pass on them. In the last year, I've had one (Samsung) battery failure, and it just recently stopped working, not holding a charge. The remaining Samsung, and even my older Sony's are still working well, although perhaps the VTC4's don't quite hold a charge as long as they did last year?
  7. Like Comp, I'm really liking the wickless ceramic coil on this one, but I do wish it were available in higher Ohms. If you want higher than 0.5 Ohms (or wider range or available coils), I would suggest your first Sub-ohm tank to be the Kanger Sub-Tank Mini (with RBA deck), or the Horizon Arctic. Both have coils available in 0.8 and 1.2 Ohm, and for me, the higher Ohm coils produce far better flavor and a satisfying "thick" vapor. This YoCan tank is really nice, and appears well-made. The function/design is similar to the KPT, and the air-flow is better than expected.
  8. I received a FavoTank for review a couple days ago, and I must say, it is a very well-built sub-ohm tank. The kit includes SS/Pyrex tank, with spare Pyrex tank section, three coils (0.2 Ohm OCC, 0.5 Ohm OCC, and 0.5 Ohm wickless ceramic), and Pyrex wide-bore drip-tip. First inspection of the tank shows very little machine oil, solid o-rings, well-fitting parts (clean threads), and smooth/square tank glass. The air-flow control opens from single, 1.25mm port, dual 1.25mm port, single 6.5mm port, and single 9.5mm port; however, the coil-head's intake port is four 1mm ports leading to the internal body of the coil, so there is very little difference between the two largest port openings. Still though, the tank has ample air-flow for 0.5 Ohm coil function and direct lung-hits, but slightly "tight" for 0.2 Ohm coil function at high Watts. The tank is solid, and well made... very much like the Kanger Sub-tank in design, with the look of an iClear 30-series on top. The capacity is 4.8ml with the OCC heads, and slightly less when using the ceramic-heads. Filling the tank with a metered-syringe, I was able to add 4.5ml with room to spare. Metering all coils showed the 0.5 Ohm OCC head to be spot-on, the 0.2 Ohm OCC head to be 0.28, and the 0.5 Ohm ceramic to be 0.48 Ohms. All but the 0.5 OCC head will only fire on my IPV-mini2's or a mech-mod, which is sad that you must have a higher-end APV before using this device. I do wish higher Ohm coils were available! Not everyone wants to sub-ohm this low! Vaping the tank is not quite as smooth as the Kanger Sub-tank or Horizon Arctic, as these OCC coils do seem to have a tiny delay before energizing full-power on my IPV-Mini2, but it is not bad, and allows me a little air-flow lead-in before the vapor hits, and this does seem to mitigate the "extreme-hot" vape experienced from the Arctic Tank when using 0.5 or 0.2 Ohm coils. The OCC 0.5 Ohm coil wicks well, and chain-vaping at 30W has yet to yield a dry-hit. At 50W (for my juice), there was a slight burnt taste, but then again, the coils are rated for 20-150W (suggested), so my particular 50/50 juice just doesn't like that much power. I have not tried the 0.2 Ohm coil, and it is rated from 20-60W (suggested), which seems low? The wickless coils are rated 20-35W, which seems odd to me, as my particular 50/50 juice did not have a burnt flavor at max-power (70W) from my IPV-mini2, although the vape was a bit "dry" and hot for my tastes. Vapor production seemed to have a sweet-spot around 30W (just like the OCC head), and the vape was surprisingly cool, compared to the OCC heads. Overall, my first few days with the tank have left me with a positive impression. Longevity of the coils and durability of the glass tank-section will be determined later, and cost/availability of replacement coils will give this a 3.5-star rating for now. As mentioned (I believe by Compenstine, in his review), I do wish they offered an RBA deck for this tank, and possibly, they will offer one, as the ceramic-head is large enough to support builds! I also have not found 0.8 or 1.2 Ohm coils for this tank. I do wish they were offered, as this tank has great potential with other vapers if it were not strictly a 0.5 Ohm (or lower) tank... If 0.8-1.2 Ohm coils were available, the buying-market for this tank would increase 500%?
  9. Reminds me of the militant femi-nazi that came to our back table in a restaurant about 25-yrs ago. My wife was breastfeeding our newborn son, completely covered and discreet, and I doubt more than 4 people in the restaurant even knew we were IN that booth. Anyway, she came over and started ranting about how shameful it was to expose a breast like that, and she should do such wicked things in the bathroom, where it belongs, because "real people" were trying to eat a civilized meal. I stood up, walked over to her table, and picked up her plate... started walking... she screamed at me because I had dared to touch her plate, and demanded to know what I was doing... I turned to her and politely said (in front of the whole restaurant) "I'm taking your plate to the women's restroom. If my son has to eat his meal in there, it will be good enough for you too, right?" The manager stopped her before she could hit me, and asked her (and her timid/whipped husband) to leave, immediately. We, on the other-hand, received our meal for free, and were welcomed back
  10. Yeah, I don't think the eVic will operate below 1.5 Ohms, nor above 11W, right? Which is why they are approved/recommended for them.... you'll not exceed a 3A, which is half the rated discharge-rate for the Panasonic battery Well within the safety limits Yes, snag some higher rated batteries, 20A minimum. Don't skimp on the brand-name either... You pay good money for a mod, so pay for a quality battery!
  11. I have some of those for my flashlights... most of them are rated at 6A for the green-and-black-wrapped 3400mAh. Some of them were rated at 10A, but there's no way to tell by looking at them. I'd not use those for anything sub-ohm, but they'll be safe for 1.2 Ohm or higher, as long as you don't crank-up the Wattage. I'd suggest some Samsung 25r or LG HE2 or HE4's... The Samsung will handle 20A all day long, and the LG's are rated at 35A, IIRC.
  12. Never heard of it, but let us know about the experience you have with them... especially prices and shipping efficiency
  13. Actually, YES, several places have banned perfumes and even strongly scented soaps due to asthmatic reactions that can be brought-on by exposure to their employees. I've been in several businesses, hospitals, and even the local health-department with signs asking that you do not enter if you just bathed in your cologne/perfume. And, it is within their rights as business owners to make such requests of their patrons. Just like those that ban smoking, vaping, or "no shoes, no shirt, no service"... I support their rights. Comp is right, we're fighting uphill, both ways, with our loose-leaf notebooks, in the snow... and those 1 or 2% that think it is their "right" to cloud-up anywhere they please are the same few that will cause all other vapers to be treated worse than the smokers... pariahs of the socially-acceptable and just-society! Those clouding-up the grocery stores, shopping malls, and aisles of the local Wal-mart will be the only people our politicians think of when they ban and tax the C R A P out of all vaping-related gear! So, be considerate of others, and be wary of your surroundings when you vape... The "nannies" are watching... always...
  14. If it were me, and I were buying a tank with drop-in coils (factory coils), I would be looking at the Horizon Arctic! Their standard BTDC are fantastic for sub-ohm and their airflow is about as wide-open as you can get. I've not tried their Ni2000 coils yet because I don't have a TC mod (yet). Another top-choice for drop-in coils (with option for RBA deck) is the Kanger Sub-tank Mini (or the full-size version). I've not bought a mini but I've been using a Nano (3ml capacity version without RBA deck option), and loving the air-flow options. As said above, all tanks are subjective, just like juice flavors... what works for me, you may consider to be garbage... But I think you won't go wrong with the Arctic tank or Sub-tank, using factory TC coils, or using Ni-Chrome wire on the sub-tank's RBA deck to customize it "your way".
  15. Last week was beautiful... high 80's, low 90's, light clouds, and the only rain we saw was middle of the night one time This week will be upper 70's, low 80's, and a high chance of thunderstorms Weds-Sat. Of course, the weather will be horrid... the County Fair started today, and all the "good" things are scheduled for Weds-Sat
  16. My boss has been trying to get my approval to work from home authorized since they forced us to go back to the offices, but the closest office will be moving to a different company in a month, and the next closest two offices don't have any space for me... my only options left were to drive 2-hrs one way (which wasn't going to happen, lol) or get the VP to approve me to work from home again... and I missed my home office... couch, recliner, mini-fridge, 42" wide-screen, indirect lighting, command-desk with six 24" monitors, and my media server with 14TB of stored TV shows and movies (strictly for background noise, lol) I'd love to take some of your workload from you, but I'm pretty sure they'd notice the difference in quality if I were helping I'll assume you're using an Innokin MVP 2.0? Yes, they are a bullet-proof device... I've had one more than a year now, and it still sees almost daily service! The juice and coil resistance will tell you when you're using too much power (burnt taste), so if 8W work for you, then you're at your juice's and coil's sweet-spot...
  17. Oh, I've still got plenty to do (actually will keep me busy for a couple months), but at least I'm able to work from home again That saves me 2.5 hours a day that I'm not wasting on the road...
  18. Tam, I've been swamped with work for the past couple of weeks, so I've not been on here much... but yes, I do seem zero-in on the threads where someone wants help spending their money
  19. Did someone say "help me spend money"?? Tam and Bebop are right... we need more info on what your goals are, and your budget. A simple Spinner and KPT2 set-up will get you going and keep you from smoking, but if you're looking for big clouds to annoy your neighbors and household members... there are a hundred different ways to approach it (although I don't condone cloud-chasing as a "sport").
  20. I've bought a couple of counterfeit "authentic" tanks from the local B&M last summer, and I'm sure they did not even know they had purchased counterfeits from their wholesaler, because when I brought it to their attention, they had already been notified by other buyers, sent the rest of the inventory back to the wholesaler, and offered to replace my tanks with authentics or give me store-credit... I took the store credit, lol. The tanks worked, but not nearly as refined and smooth in their threading, and the o-rings were crap. Now, I thoroughly inspect anything I buy from a B&M I agree, counterfeiting is theft, and where I draw the line. I would not willingly or knowingly purchase a counterfeit. I have no issues with companies cloning or "styled as", as long as it is clearly marked as such... I know what I'm buying, and they know what they are selling. As Tam said, there are clones out there that have improved or corrected minor faults of the originals, and many of the 1:1 clones have the blessing of the original manufacturer to produce them. I have several clones from reputable cloning companies (HCigar, Infinite, etc), and honestly, the function of my Russian 91% clones was so good, that I decided to invest in two authentic as well. I can honestly say, the authentic are slightly better made (but only slightly in threading and polish). So, are the authentic Russians worth it to me? Yes, to support the authentic company had have bragging-rights that I own authentic, but no, to the 600% cost difference, when the vape is basically identical.... AND, my clones have never leaked... the authentic DO leak from time to time out of the fill-port, and the clones have slightly larger capacity, air-flow port, and juice-channels... so in all honestly, the clones have improved over the original? If any company takes something to be manufactured in China, they WILL have it cloned and sold cheaper through other outlets! China does not honor any patent agreements, nor do they treat your intellectual property as yours, and yours alone. They contract to produce X-items, or produce for X-hours a day to your specs... they then run their lines during the off-contract time to produce clones (using other materials, cheaper materials, different colors, etc.) to extend their profit margins and justify tooling/set-up costs. It's just the way they do business. If you don't want your product cloned (from day-one)... don't let the Chinese have your blueprints!
  21. ^^ This ^^ With my only exception being that I do recommend Amazon for battery purchases. All of my Samsung 25r batteries (12 of them) came from reputable suppliers and shipped Prime (free 2-day delivery). Other online suppliers to check first are here on the VT store, and any of the more well-known online e-cig vendors. Shop around for best prices, but always remember to include shipping in your overall costs. For that reason, I shop Amazon and my local B&M's first... If you're going to invest in 4-6 batteries, I would recommend the Nitecore i4 charger. It has 4 bays, and can easily charge singles or pairs (in slot 1 and 4 for most rapid charge), and will run you about $2 more for the extra capacity.
  22. Carry the battery or batteries (if you're packing a spare) in a proper, plastic box. D O N O T carry them loose in your pocket. You will run the chance of shorting them out across spare change, or your keys, etc. and that could cause catastrophic results in your pocket! Safety First!
  23. Sounds like you guys need to just invest in an extension cord? LOL I get almost a full day out of my VTC4's, and do get a full day out of my Samsung 25r's (unless it's been a really bad day, lol), but they are 400mAh more than the Sony's.... I've yet to pull the trigger on any of the Efest, but honestly, I don't run anything sub-ohm low enough to warrant more than 20A I'm perfectly happy with the Samsung batteries... I'm running 10 of them in rotation now, and keep the 4 Sony's charged up for back-ups... just in case!
