  1. I've dealt with plenty of strange occurrences... A month after my grandfather passed in the late 80's, I was visiting my grandmother, and I slept in my grandfather's room (yeah, they were the couple that had separate bedrooms, but after 11 kids, it was probably a good idea, lol). Grandma told me to pay attention to the bedroom door, because it would lock, and grandpa wouldn't like it. About 2am, I was woken-up to the sound of the bedroom door being rattled off the hinges. I thought it was my little brother being a little brother, but when I grabbed the door handle to open the door, I got a heck of a shock and felt the vibration... opened the door, and nobody was there (or even awake elsewhere in the house). My wife (then fiance) spent the night in that same room a couple of years later and she was awakened the exact same way (also about 2am). She also said there was a strange glow in the attached bathroom just before daybreak (same night), and the sound of running water. When she went into the bathroom, thinking the toilet was running, but found a little steam on the mirror from running hot water (which was now off), and grandpa's razor was wet on the side of the sink Also, nobody that sleeps in that room can stay on the side of the bed closest to the bathroom... you may start on that side of the bed, but you wake-up on the other side, even if there are two of you in the bed... both of you will be on the far-half when you wake up... apparently grandpa doesn't like anyone sleeping on his side?
  2. +1 Lately, unless I'm actually looking for a cheap clone, or bulk replacement parts, I ignore the Chinese vendors. 9 out of 10 times, you can find what you are looking for from a US-based supplier at the same (or cheaper) price, if you spend some time looking around. The best example was above with my Cloupor minis... cheaper and faster shipping by ordering from a US site!
  3. There is nothing wrong with FastTech, if you don't mind waiting 4-10 weeks for your order to arrive. GearBest is no different in what they offer, or delivery times. Be aware they (like FastTech) do sell a lot of clones and items "styled-as", as well as authentic items. But, in all honesty, their prices (coupled with slow delivery) don't always make them a better deal than buying from a US-based company. In fact, some US-based companies actually beat or equal prices from the China-based companies.... on some items. Point-in-case... I bought my Cloupor minis from VapeNW for $33 (shipped price) and had them in 2-3 days, whereas the cheapest China-vendor was listing them for $32 + shipping (about $38 for DHL/expedited), and still have to wait a month for shipping through Europe (rather than 6-8 week, slow-boat across the Pacific)!
  4. If it will only fire when plugged into the USB, then one of two things is happening... 1) The board is shot (charging circuit), or 2) The battery is shot (incapable of holding a charge). Personally, I would recycle it and buy something new, rather than chase-down the issue and try to repair it. There are far too many good APV's out there for cheap prices!
  5. There are clones, average clones, good clones, better clones, and sometimes the clones are better than the authentic! You have to judge the quality and price for yourself. Some good cloning companies are HCigar and Infinite. There are many other cloning companies, some are good, some are garbage. You have to judge the quality and prices for yourself and determine which route you want to go (and how far your wallet will let you).
  6. Either... but I prefer VW so I can set the preferred Wattage, and the device will adjust the Voltage appropriately according to the resistance of my coil for a consistent vape. Wattage and Voltage are interdependent on each other, based on Ohm's Law. With the coil being a static variable, adjust either Wattage or Voltage, and the other must change to balance the equation (in simplest terms). If you know Ohm's Law, you can set your voltage on a VV device to provide the desired Wattage.
  7. Yeah, I don't think TC would have done much to prevent cooking cotton But, as soon as the IPV D2's come out, one will be in my hands
  8. Considering we have about 20 candidates so far... I'm sure Mickey will be on the ballot somewhere!
  9. All but one of my Russians have the poly-tank section in place, but my ADV is fairly clear... so a full tank and empty tank look the same if you just glance at them. I know what you mean about the all-steel bodied ones... you can tell when you're getting low because you start to get dry hits on the end of the drag, but if you forget to fill it up, you can get some nasty hits... still not nearly as bad as vaping fresh, dry cotton
  10. I cleaned and re-wicked all of my RTA's last night, and only filled my authentic Russians (with my ADV) so they'd be ready to go this morning. This morning, I reached into my tank rack for a fresh tank, popped it onto my IPV, and took a hit... OMG.. (is someone burning feathers?)... Horrible... worst dry-hit in my life... When I looked down at the smoking mess in my hand, I realized, I grabbed the wrong tank... I grabbed one of the clones I had re-wicked last night (the ones NOT filled)! I just took a 1.2 Ohm / 14W drag of pure, DRY, Organic Japanese Cotton!! Moral of the story... don't grab tanks in a dimly-lit room... you might just get an empty one (and now you have to clean it, re-coi, and re-wick... after you stop choking to death)!
  11. White Castle is horrid IMO... we refer to them as "Wipe-Castles"... because I've never eaten at one that didn't give me a bad case of the trots, lol. Krystal has better "sliders", In-and-Out is pretty good, but you can't beat a good Steak-n-Shake burger, or my personal favorite... Rally's (Checkers in some parts of the world)... their fries are fantastic, and their Big Buford is massive (and delicious)!
  12. Hey, Blu... glad to see you again! I've not seen a 808-style in a while, but I'm sure they are out there? For public-friendly, I always have a small eGo battery (650-1100 mAh), either the long, skinny ones, or the shorter, fatter ones, and use a KPT3mini tank on it. The KPT3mini is a dual-coil, and you can get coils for it down to 0.8 Ohm now, but I prefer the 1.5's due to their small size of tank. Cartomizers are still available... I recently picked up another pack of BOGE LR for working in the yard (less chance of breaking anything glass). Personally, I've used my larger rigs (like the IPV-mini / Russian combo) in public and had some good, some bad receptions. Some people will be rude to you if you're drinking a Coke instead of a Pepsi... so you can't please all the people all the time I guess the real question is this.. are you wanting very small, very portable for stealth-vaping, or just something that doesn't look like you're dragging around a nuclear reactor with a portable chemistry-lab on top of it to avoid public pressure?
  13. Hi, Denise, and welcome to VT! Nicotine is not the evil that our government and media like to portray it as... yes, it is addictive, but not nearly as addictive (or dangerous) as the 4000+ other chemicals in cigarettes. Nicotine is not carcinogenic (proven by multiple, independent labs, including the CDC/FDA)! There is nothing written in stone that says you must taper down your Nicotine, but if you do, you do so at your own pace... some never lower their levels, some drop 3-6mg/ml ever few months/years. Some people like me use lower levels most days, but still keep some 18-24mg around for really bad days Nicotine is absorbed faster when it is heated... a tank/coil combo running at 2.0 Ohms and low Wattages will not be as hot as a sub-ohm tank running 0.2 Ohms and high Wattages. This is another reason for keeping multiple Nicotine levels around. When I'm sub-ohming, I use 3-6mg, when I'm using a traditional tank, I'm using 9-12mg, and some days higher. Chain-vaping or casual vaping also affect what Nicotine level you want/need... If chain-vaping, you'll want lower levels because you're getting a constant feed of Nicotine. If you can only vape a few minutes every couple of hours (shift work), then you may want much higher levels, to tide you over between breaks? You'll slow the Nicotine at your own pace... or not at all... either way is acceptable, but don't rush the drop if you are trying to wean yourself away totally... Drop your levels too fast, and your body will crave it, and you'll be drawn back to the analogs, have stomach issues, headaches... basic withdrawal symptoms... such as the mood swing you've already experienced
  14. I forgot it was shark week, but plan to watch a few here and there. I am a hunter, and eat what I catch/kill... after Katrina hit the gulf-coast, I was in MS helping bring supplies to family that lived 30-miles from GulfPort. While there, I heard they were begging archers and spear-fishers to take out the Bull Sharks that were deep into the fresh-water in MS and LA. I took two males with archery gear I kept a few teeth for necklaces and decoration, shipped some meat home, we had a fantastic family cook-out, and gave the bulk of the meat to the food-bank to help with disaster relief. I'm with Tam... I prefer my sharks on TV or on a plate... even being in the safety of a big air-boat (with spears, arrows, and a rifle) with Bulls (many over 10') swimming around... I was terrified because they were HUNGRY! I've swam (scuba) with dozens of species in the Atlantic off the coast of FL, but none so deadly as Bulls, Tigers, Hammerheads, or Great Whites!
  15. You can use the flat-top batteries... just add a tiny magnet onto the top, to make it a button-top. Compenstine (Fadora Vapor) has them at his online site, and several places (Internet and local) will have them. Here is the link to the thread where he talks about them.
  16. Personal use primarily. I do mix for a couple of friends and co-workers, and I charge them a little... under local B&M rates... to offset my costs of supplies (actually, they usually buy enough to completely cover my costs, over time). I've thought about my own lines, because my friends say what I mix for them is better than what they get at the shops. I think they are just being kind, but they keep asking for more, so maybe they do like it? I think it would just be too much trouble to go into huge productions, because it would become a "job", and not a "hobby", not to mention finding the venue to sell it? To me, mixing juices is "fun", and gives me a chance to use my Chemistry degree, but making my own line of flavors might take the fun out of it?
  17. Welcome! Funny you should mention the cig-a-likes... I was at Wal-mart today, and a guy walked by me in the parking lot with a BLU in his mouth, and he saw my IPV-mini with Russian 91% in my hand. He came to a screeching halt, and immediately struck up a conversation, asking about my rig, and how/where he could get one... because the BLU weren't doing anything for him, and he wasn't crazy about the flavor either. He was desperate for something more, and had no idea where to start. I gave him a quick education, and pointed out the local "good" vape shops, he wrote down a list of my recommended starter/intermediate gear (that wouldn't break his bank), and I suggested he hit their vape-bars to sample different flavors before buying anything larger than a 10ml bottle based on the label or name of the juice. You'll find that once you get into "real" vaping, the possibilities are endless (just like the gear and flavors), and you'll enjoy the variety as much as the hobby
  18. This is a common issue with any atomizer head that makes direct contact with the battery. Either the pin is pushed in (not making contact) or the pin is out too far (binding against excess wire from the coil). Sounds like you have the latter issue. Push the pin higher with your finger or a flat-metal object... also check to see if excess wire from the coil is binding-up the pin (forcing it to be too low). I've had both issues with my EVOD-style tanks, including KPT2, KPT3, and their mini versions...
  19. It's not the iStick that actually causes it... yes, at higher heat, the nicotine absorbs into the body faster, but from the look of the blisters and staining, my belief is the juice is 80% of the issue. Even regulation won't stop a device from behaving this way... the chip-set on the iStick 20 is MEAN, not RMS output... THAT is the issue with it, and I think the chip does not accurately gauge the resistance of the coll, either... They're just cheaply made, IMO!
  20. First of all, Welcome to VT! The iStick 20 is well known for over-powering (higher than it's settings, and irregular outputs)... I do not recommend those batteries! The iStick 30 and 50W versions have much better chips in them, and the 50W has HUGE battery life! Secondly, I think you have a combo issue... One is the over-powering of the battery, and two is the fact you appear to have an allergy to the juice... either the flavoring, or one of the "unlisted" ingredients. Stop using that juice today!! The mouth heals quickly... give it a rest for a day or two, and drink LOTS of water! Gargle some salt-water to aid the healing, as well as remove infection. Switch to a juice you know works for you, and get rid of that iStick 20. Almost all of the members here that have tried them have had the same issue... and we (collectively) do NOT recommend anyone use them.
  21. Well put Kit... at max strength (for e-liquid), before the nasty Caffeine taste took over... you'd get the equivalent of a 1/6 cup of coffee or two good drinks of cola... in three ML of e-liquid... which means it is not worth the effort to put it in. Just enjoy your Caffeine in coffee, tea, or cola... and enjoy your flavors and Nicotine in your vape!
  22. Happy 4th of July, EVERYONE! I hope everyone gets their fill of cookouts, cold adult beverages, sand, sun, and fireworks! Be safe, party hard, and always remember why we celebrate this day!!
  23. The mini Plus and mini V2 both have the updated airflow, and the updated RBA head. The Plus has a 7ml capacity... the V2 (like the standard mini) has a 4.5ml capacity
  24. Which Horizon tank are you using, and are you sure it is 2.0 Ohms and not a sub-ohm coil? A few hours of battery power is unusual if you are using a 2.0 Ohm coil, but if you were using a 0.5 Ohm coil, that could be very possible (if you are chain-vaping). Higher resistance coils draw fewer Amps from the battery, therefore it lasts longer. Lower Ohm coils draw more Amps, and deplete a battery faster. If it is truly a 2.0 Ohm coil, then your battery may be defective, and I would take it back to where you bought it for an exchange... 2000mAh should last you all day, or even into the next day with a 2.0 Ohm coil....
  25. My vape-mail from Wizard Labs arrived today... Six 120ml bottles of the flavors I keep running out of (vanillas, chocolates, bavarian cream, strawberry) Thirteen 30ml bottles of complimentary flavors (fruits, caramel, sweet cream, PB, etc) Three 8ml bottles of enhancer flavors (Almond, banana, cinnamon) Two new 14ga blunt needles Two new glass stir-rod Still waiting on arrival of my new glassware from Amazon (Erlenmeyer Flasks, Graduated Cylinders, Beakers, and 30ml Boston bottles w/droppers) I also received my Four, new Samsung 25r batteries (not shown below, because they are on the charger).
