I love my KPT3 minis! I may not use them every day, but they are powerful little work-horses and great with small mods or eGo-style batteries. I'm vaping 6mg right now with my ADV's, but I keep everything from 0-24mg handy. You never know when a little extra kick from higher nicotine will smooth out your day...

Side effects from "quitting" smoking
Earthling789 replied to cesar's topic in Vaping Health & Safety
^^ This ^^ Water is the key to many of the effects you have mentioned... I drink about a gallon a day these days (and I use to despise the taste of water)! After I started vaping 0-6mg before bedtime, I started sleeping like a log. Vaping 18mg before bed meant insomnia, odd dreams, tossing/turning/waking, and not getting any "decent" sleep until just before the alarm went off. -

Wow, sounds like fun! Stretch well, stay limber, and good luck! -
You'd be surprised how rugged and long-lasting Innokin battery products are... My MVP 2.0 which was bought 15 months ago is still going strong, and the battery still holds out for roughly two or three days of vaping... I loaned it to a friend a few weeks ago, and she used it from Wednesday night to Saturday morning. It never went to the yellow light while she was using it. When you do upgrade to a different style of battery, that Itazte-134 will make an excellent backup!

Bump when you get something in vape mail.

Locally, Kanthal (and all wire) is way too expensive, and the cheapest place I've found wire that isn't taking a slow-boat from China is on Amazon. The last spools I bought were 100+ foot spools, and the most expensive one I've purchased was $6 (shipped free) from Lightning Vapes. The cheapest was ~ $3 for 30 and 32ga, also from Lightning Vapes. If you shop on Amazon, you should give them a look for your wire. Oh, and Selena/Labo brand Organic Japanese cotton is $7 for a HUGE bag, and it is just as good as any of the big-name-brand pads... Comp proved that in his side-by-side comparison tests! I've had my bag for a year now, and barely made a dent in it, even after giving away dozens of pads to friends I know $20-30 is hard to come-by sometimes... especially these days... but getting several 100' spools of Kanthal and a big bag of good cotton for that $20-30 will keep you in coils and wicks for the next couple of years... -
Unless they are "dripping" with oil or damaged in some way... I've had great success in resurrecting "pre-installed" coils using that method.... probably 9 out of every 10 coils I've done this to have worked (and tasted better), just like the sealed coils from the blister-packs.
-
From what I can tell, the factory installed coils get infused with machine oil from setting in the tank/package... this is why they taste and function like they do. I've been taking the factory-installed coils out and soaking them in Vodka for a couple of days, rinse in hot water, soak again in Vodka another day or two, letting the air-dry, and storing them for emergencies... when I have used them weeks later... they perform MUCH better!

Sorry, Cesar... I gotta disagree. Buying a cheap starter kit may seem like saving money, but cheap is usually poor quality and poor performance - think gas-station vape-pens. These things will almost always discourage a new vaper and send them running back to analogs. A good starter kit with reliable batteries (Kanger, Vision, Joye) and replaceable-coil clearomizers work far better... and usually only cost a few dollars more than the cheap-o, no-name, garbage. There is also nothing wrong with your "starter" set-up to be intermediate gear. I often recommend KPT2's, Aerotanks, iSticks, Kbox-minis, and other "intermediate/advanced" equipment to new vapers. Nothing is written in stone that you MUST start vaping with an eGo 650mAh and a Ce4 disposable tank! Also, smokers are always drawn to tobacco flavors as new vapers, because it is a mental-thing to think you need/want "tobacco", but in my experience (and listening to a lot of vapers), the vast majority will agree that finding a good fruit or bakery flavor (not a tobacco flavor) is what kept them vaping and away from analogs. There are exceptions, sure, but they are very low percentages. One of my ADV's has a small amount of Cuban Cigar flavor in it, but the main flavor is fruit/sweet (the cigar flavor adds the right amount of spice to compliment the fruity flavor, and does not add the nasty tobacco flavor at all). Vaping works as a smoking cessation tool because it satisfies the hand-to-mouth action, provides a mouth/lung filling vapor, provides a "visual" of vapor on exhale (that reminds the eyes of our former smoking), provides a flavor that we like (to keep us vaping), and finally... provides Nicotine to our body which reduces the withdrawal that quitting cold-turkey or using ineffective gums or patches provides!

Haha, sounds like me and the Nautilus... I tried so hard to make it work and like it... but it just didn't cooperate I didn't think the Triton had an RBA deck... but awesome if they do! To me, the subtank was a little warm, too, with the 1.2 Ohm coils, but using the RBA deck (or 1.5 coils) @ 12.5W, setting mid-level airflow, and slip-streaming a little air on my lung-hits has made it almost as enjoyable as my Russians... almost! I think a LOT of my heat issues is due to the incredibly short/wide drip-tips included with all these new sub-tanks? I've popped on longer drip-tips and that seems to cool things down a bit.
-
Congrats Tam! I'm so glad you found one you like... I knew you weren't too pleased with the subtank (despite many of us having good results with ours), but sounds like the Triton is making you a happy girl again

Maybe you're bi-polar, and you're actually Gh0stPix3l, too

Hi John, welcome to VT! Are you looking for juices or hardware? Juice is so subjective... what tastes good to me may taste like wet socks to you, and what tastes good to you today may not be your cup-o-tea in a couple months (as you get farther away from analogs). As for hardware... what are you using right now? Do you have a budget for how much you can/will spend on newer, better gear?
-
The subtank is a good tank, and I run my Nano and Mini with 1.2 and 1.5 Ohm coils. I also build the RBA deck in the same range. If you like your Aerotank mini, perhaps you'd like the standard-size Aerotank. I have both styles, V1 and V2, and love both of them! I use them with my Cloupor Minis and my IPV minis, and they would run very well with an iStick 50W or the Kbox-mini, too (as well as your i-134, with added beauty-ring). I would suggest you upgrade to a VW box-style mod... either one that has a self-contained battery like the iStick 50W (huge power reserve), MVP 20W, 3.0, etc., or make the move onto a replaceable battery device like the IPV, Cloupor, Kbox minis, etc.... just be sure to purchase a good Nitecore or Efest charger and VERY good batteries, like Samsung 25r, LG HE2, or purple Efests!

I've done dripping, and still do on rare occasions, but for me, I like the idea of not having to have a bottle of juice within 3' of me at all times (and far less issue with leaks/drips). For me, moving to an RTA was my unicorn. I get the benefit of customizing my coil and cotton to suit MY preferences, and a tank that holds 3-5ml of juice, so I'm only needing to fill it once a day, maybe twice? Adversarious brought up a great point about mech-mods... I own several and haven't touched them in months. When I do drip, I simply use my higher power regulated boxes... it gives a more uniform vaping experience, so I can hit the same Wattage on every draw, rather than the constant fall-off of power/voltage you get with a mech.
-
Been there, done that... it's worse than finding out you have a flat tire at 5am I'm with Tam... I try not to go less than 60ml of my ADV before buying more, or mixing more... Mixing is not an issue, because I can whip-up a batch quickly, but if I'm buying something pre-mixed (or need components for mixing), I try to order it way before I need it to allow for shipping, out-of-stocks, back-orders, etc....
-
The standard coil-master is a bit small in diameter, and I'd love to try the larger V3 kit because I just hate trying to work with something so small. I don't have arthritis, but I do have larger hands. For me, the Kuro-coiler is a good fit, but unless you catch them at a good price, or buy a clone from China/Hong Kong, they are more expensive.

So, that's what happened to your DNA40? It got hot, so it decided to cool off in the lake...

Whoa, Bebop... careful there... only two more days of rain and you'll reach your quota for the year!

Spiders... Proof that everyone is, in fact, a 5-yr-old girl on the inside...

Thanks Tam... I do too! I think this has been the wettest summer we've had in a long time, and it really shows in the rate my grass and Maple trees are growing. I'm still not ready for cold weather, though, I'd not mind a few days in the 70's or low 80's, as long as rain is not involved too...

Cycling batteries/charging question
Earthling789 replied to Kevo88's topic in Batteries and Chargers
The UM chargers are basically the same as the D-series chargers (LCD displays), but they charge via USB, not AC power. They also have a port where you can charge a USB device, and you can select which device (battery or USB) charges first. If you are looking for a travel charger, the UM series will do well, but for home-use, I'd still recommend the i-series or d-series NiteCore chargers. -
After all the rain we've had for the past 3-weeks, the past few days of 95-deg and 90% humidity were almost welcomed... almost I cut my yard yesterday, and was surprised to see water still standing in places that received full sunlight for two days straight! Today was actually a pleasant day because the humidity was below 80% and a little breeze, but the temps were still 90+... until the rain hit (again) Rain again tomorrow and Tuesday... but Wednesday through the weekend... should be GORGEOUS!

Cycling batteries/charging question

Interesting info on the Green-wrapped 25r5's... same performance, as the blue 25r2, but higher lifecycle counts. I'll have to look for those next time I buy batteries! Thanks, Jason... good info -

Higher VG, lower Nicotine (might try a 12mg or 18mg until he's use to the act of vaping), and try a tank with adjustable airflow (Nautilus, Aerotank, etc.). I'd also recommend coil resistances in the 1.5-2.0 Ohm range for a new vaper (sub-ohm is HARSH if you're not ready for it, IMO), and the last thing... mouth-to-lung hits, rather than full-lung hits are recommended for a new vaper, too. -

Analogs contain 4000+ chemicals, and more than one of them are anesthetics to reduce gag-reflex and coughing (while inhaling all those toxic chemicals). Vaping contains none of those things! PG is what carries flavor, but it also is what produces the majority of the Throat-hit. I would suggest he use a higher VG% (lower PG%) e-liquid, and make sure the device is not turned up too high. Even if you're a 30-yr smoker, you should start out with lower-powered devices, and experiment with juices (flavors and ratios). What device is he using, and what is the e-liquid (brand/flavor/nicotine/ and PG/VG)?
