If I were on the road for a week, I'd probably pack more in my vape-kit than my luggage, lol... yet, I'd probably only use one mod, one tank, and maybe 30ml of juice My SO recently went on a week-long nursing conference, and I packed her a kit in one of those aluminum cases... Her iTaste CLK, two eGo-T, chargers, a Cloupor mini (with 4 batteries and eGo adapter), three KPT3-minis (with 5 pack of coils), Nautilus (with spare coil), her K1 (with 2 spare coils), and 90ml of assorted juice flavors. There was still plenty of room in that case for more... they are huge on the inside. She mostly used her CLK and the eGo's (for portability), but she was grateful to have the spare coils as she needed one on the second day when her K1 locked-up on her! Glad to hear you'll be home more, but that will mean a lot of miles on the days you're gone... still though, you can pack a little lighter, and be home sooner

I agree, Jason! I would love to have some hard-data to back up the claims that charging higher than 1A damages these batteries. I'm sure it was true of the older chemistry or possibly Ni-Cad / Ni-MH batteries, possibly even Li-Po packs, but I don't buy it with these 18650's we're using I've looked at the Opus... if you get one, let me know how it does. And, for < $15, you can't go wrong picking up another i4... they're work-horses! Nope, you're not weird... I'd rather carry 4-6 charged batteries than pack a charger any day of the week. On a recent weekend trip (where I'd probably use 2 batteries, max), I still packed 6 spares, just to be sure... and carried 2 IPV's, 1 Cloupor (all 3 with fresh batteries loaded), 4 tanks, spare coils, and my coil-kit to re-build or repair my Russian if necessary. I still only used 2 batteries, one mod, and one tank, but it's piece of mind knowing I'm covered... been without before, and had way too many close-calls to not leave the house without "enough" stuff

Better on the batteries? Maybe? But since the circuitry charges in stages (tapering off the Amps as the charge level increases), I think the slowness is just due to the fact the 4-bay rate IS only 0.375A (top rate). I tend to use my 4-bay chargers in 2-bay mode to take advantage of the 1-4-slot combo to maximize .700A charge rate... this way I can charge 4 batteries (in two chargers) rather rapidly, but can still do 8 at a time... it just takes forever I totally get the impatience, Jason! And, the watched pot never boils, so to speak Sometimes it seems they'll never charge... then you blink, and they're done...
-
Trust Jason's battery info... he's on the money! I do use and recommend the Nitecore i4 chargers... I have two, and yes they are slightly slower than the LucV4, but they are reliable...

Well, it's Thursday, and the SO has just now put the Presa back on the charger.... it's not been charged since Tuesday around Noon... so with her vaping style, she's gotten two day's use from it from the last charge (using Nautilus w/1.6 BVC @ 12W). Two more were ordered (GearBest), so she'll have a second one (and can retire her iTaste CLK to back-up status) and I'll have a shiny new back-up device... at least until she "borrows" it AND, who told her about wraps?? I though you guys loved me? LOL She came home this morning and asked if I could find something "pretty and purple" to add some color to it Hmmm... now that I think about it... I should blame Tam? SHE loves purple too!

You'll be amazed how much better it will work with a fresh coil BTW, congrats on the purchase! Once you get a fresh coil going, I think you will really like the ST-mini!
-
I'll second the look and feel of the IPV3-Li, and if you don't need/want 165W (dual 18650's), the IPV-D2 is small, compact (single 18650), and still does 75W and TC. Another good choice (although I don't have either) is the Cloupor mini-plus (50W TC) or Cloupor mini-GT (80W TC). I've had great luck with my Cloupor minis, and don't hesitate to recommend the brand I've been off and on about buying a higher Wattage mod myself, but even when using my Arctic Tank @ 0.2 Ohms, I'm rarely running more than 45W, and can't remember going above 65W... so for me, anything that provides up to 70W is just fine. My daily tanks are rarely pushed above 20W (most are 12-15W).

Everyone is spot-on with the coils that come with the tanks... my theory is that they become contaminated with machine oil from the manufacturing process and refuse to wick/work properly. Did you clean the tank well before use? That will usually fix a lot of woes before they happen, and starting with a fresh box of coils is always a good thing, too. Save the "included" coils for emergencies, and a good way to clean them up for actual use is to soak them for a day in cheap Vodka or EverClear, then let them air-dry for a day. That will remove any oils or contaminants from the factory and allow you to get some use out of them, rather than toss them away.
-
When in doubt, check the manufacturer website for specs That's what I did, lol. I noticed you posted the same question more than once (which is not necessary to do)... sometimes it is slow in the afternoons here, but in the evenings, answers will begin to flow, well into the night and morning... yeah, we're a bunch of night-owls on here

You can use any coil resistance down to 0.2 Ohms. Lower will not "short it out", it just will not work due to the circuitry restrictions/limitations of the board. As for gauge of wire... that is your preference, but you must use Kanthal because the MVP3 Pro is NOT a temperature control device. If you've never built coils before, I would suggest you watch many YouTube videos and scour the coil building threads on this site. Building coils is not child's-play, and can be very dangerous if you don't pay attention to details and use a proper meter to check your builds BEFORE you fire them!

A replaceable battery is just that... replaceable... so you can swap batteries without having to be tethered to a cord or switch to a different mod while that one charges. Yes, there are dozens of batteries out there, but only a few GOOD ones, which you should make every effort to use (LG HE2, LG HG2, Samsung 25R - to name a few). The sub-box mini it is excellent, but there is nothing wrong with your iStick/Nautilus combo either. What works for you works for you I think you've just caught a case of shinyitus, lol... don't feel bad, there's not a vaper alive that hasn't been bitten by the bug to some degree! Check out my review of the Wismec Presa 40W... it's an excellent little self-contained-battery mod, and can handle most any tank you put on it. If you are looking for a replaceable battery mod, then the sub-box is worthy of purchase (get the kit so you can have the tank too). My personal favorite replaceable-battery mods are the IPV-mini and Cloupor-mini (both are 30W mods). I rarely push anything over 25W anyway, so having 200W boxes would be a waste of money in my opinion And, I like the Wismec so well, I just purchased two more...one for me as a back-up device, and one for my gal.

Grandpa always said... if you don't have something left over, you didn't do it right

Their TC is exactly the same size, and fires down to 0.05 Ohm Ni200 or Ti wire, and down to 0.15 Ohm for Kanthal (even lower than their standard 40W), and the adjustment buttons are moved to the top, rather than the bottom so I've no idea if I'd like that or not, but it is lockable, so you can avoid accidental adjustments. Yeah, I'm pretty picky, lol... and this Presa 40W is in my mind as decent an APV as the Innokin MVP series, but I like the size/ergonomics of the Presa, better than an MVP (and you know how I've praised the MVP-series in the past)! I think this is an excellent starter VV/VW mod, or a great primary or back-up for anyone that doesn't want to deal with 18650's. To me the solid-body construction, and size also beats the iStick 30W or 40W (TC). The iStick 50W only has it beat in battery capacity (2000mAh more), but is more than twice the size (and flimsy), too.... with obvious auto-firing problems being reported... So far, this thing is getting 5-stars from me! But, we'll see how it is in a few months, or a year?

UPDATE: I'm in love with this little mod! We've been using it since yesterday around 10am, and the battery needed charging after about 24-hours of heavy use (around Noon today). The manual says it will charge in 3 hours using a 1A charger (which is what I used), and just under 3 hours is what it took. Charging is dirt-simple... plug it in and wait for the charge indicator to stop flashing. I didn't think to check pass-through function because I wanted to see how long it took to charge, but I don't think it will work as a pass-through anyway (does not indicate it on the manual, and when plugged in, the screen changes to charge-indicator-flash). The ergonomics of the device is fantastic... can fire it with thumb, first finger, two fingers, or just by gripping it with the whole hand. It feels great, and has a good weight to it. And, yes, the button has smoothed-out considerably after a little use... it's not quite butter-smooth, but it seems to be getting there? Comparing this to the iStick 50W, I'd take the Presa over the iStick any day of the week for size and ergonomics, and the price is roughly the same @ sub-$40. The iStick 50W only wins for battery size (mAh). The Presa does not feel as "cheap" as the iSticks do either... this thing is solid... on par with the iTaste MVP series, IMO. I've tested it with a Nautilus (full size), AeroTank, and KPT2 (all running 1.5-1.8 Ohm coils), and this little unit is flawless in function with them, thanks to the spring-loaded 510. The meter appears to be accurate (compared to my Ohm meter), as I have compared several tanks and RDAs built from 0.2 Ohm up to 2.2 Ohm. The eGo adapter seems to be very similar to the ones supplied with the iSticks, but does not seem to have the issue where it won't fire if the tanks are screwed down too tightly Now, on my Arctic tank, running a 0.21 Ohm coil... as the coil heats up from chain-vaping, the coil resistance obviously changes, which causes the Presa to NOT fire it consistently as the resistance dips below 0.20 Ohms. SO, the cut-off of 0.2 Ohms is very accurate for this board. I gave it to my SO last night (as I promised her I would, before it even arrived)... She's been using an iTaste CLK with K1 tank for the past few months, and she's been wanting a "heftier" device for quite some time, but didn't want to deal with (what she perceived to be) the complexity/bulk of a VV/VW device, and did not want to deal with swapping 18650s like I do with my IPV's or Cloupor minis (even though she's been eyeing them quite hard lately, lol). I set this up for her last night with the Nautilus, and she's been loving it ever since! Now she has 5ml capacity, a stealthy, well-made, reliable device (with lock to prevent mis-fires in her pocket) to carry her through her 12-hour shifts. And, she does have her eGo-style back-ups and spare tanks should she accidentally break the Nautilus or suddenly find herself with a drained battery. Now... I guess I'll need to buy her a second one? If they only came in purple or pink, she'd be happy to have several... LOL [Shhh, don't tell her about wraps... ]

Welcome Larry! Which iTaste battery are you using? What resistance coil are you using in your Nautilus? 10W may be perfect for your coil/juice combo, and your lack of throat hit may be the lower level of PG (40%) in your mix or the Nicotine level in your juice? PG (and Nicotine to an extent) give throat-hit. VG is what produces the majority of your vapor. At 60%, your VG content should be sufficient for a decent cloud. Bump up your Wattage a little, vape, repeat... once you get a slightly burnt taste, back the Wattage down 0.1-0.5W, and that should be the sweet-spot for your coil/juice combo. Everyone is different, and all battery/coil/tank/juice combos will be different, so you have to dial-in what works for YOU... there is no "perfect for everyone" spot

I received my Wismec Presa today from GearBest, and first look is impressive! I got the silver one (anodized Aluminum) rather than the black powder-coat, because I hoped it would not fade or chip color as badly. Nice packaging, battery arrived fully charged, and the APV included a very long USB charging cable (standard micro-USB) and an eGo adapter so you can use eGo threaded tanks. The unit has a built-in battery (2600mAh), goes up to 40W (or 10V) in 0.1W increments. It is switchable from VW to VV, and the screen flips to read from the left or right (a nice feature). The adjustment buttons are easy to reach and operate, yet their placement makes it very difficult to accidentally press them as you use it. The buttons as well as the fire-button are also lockable so you cannot adjust or press the fire button without unlocking. There is also a spring-loaded 510-pin, which so far has connected perfectly with all of my tanks. The battery also (supposedly) fires coils down to 0.2 Ohm, which will be tested with my Arctic Tank. The only thing I've not been overly impressed with (out of the box) is the fire button is not perfectly smooth, but I think it may smooth-out as it is used? I'll be using this daily for a week or two to give it a real work-out and see how well the battery does and how long it lasts between charges. I'll also be using it with different tanks, including a sub-ohm tank (or two). Compared to my Cloupor (slightly taller than Cloupor, but same width and roughly same weight) With a full size Nautilus attached

Yes, I've noticed some of my 25R's aren't lasting as long as they use to... but that is to be expected as they age/cycle. Interesting about batteries draining... I've noticed if I leave a battery in my IPV-mini V2 (black one), it will slowly drain a battery... If I don't use it for a couple of days, the battery will be completely dead, or at least too low to use for very long. But, none of my other IPV's do that. Guess I need to stop leaving batteries in that one, or perhaps send it back for repair/inspection?
-
I've looked at the HG2 as well... but haven't tried any of them. I figure as more of my older batteries reach retirement, I'll try something newer/better, and the HG2 are at the top of my list. I've been running 25R's almost exclusively since January, and so far have only lost two of them (probably older stock?), and still have 10 running strong. My VTC4's have been work-horses for more than a year, but I've retired them to use only in my Cloupor's where they will see lower Wattage demands, and hopefully will last even longer that way? Even though they are only 2100mAh, they still last nearly 2-days in my Cloupor's (running 8.5-12W avg).
-
I've always known my VTC4 and 25R preformed well in my Mechs, as well as my regulated boxes, so this is good info to support my theory as well. I've been using a few LG HE2 to try them out, and I must say they perform very well, too, but don't seem to last as long as the 25R's (maybe an hour or two less)... or it could just be my imagination, too? lol I'd love to see the LG's put through this same test.

LMAO, but it is so true... they are the VW Beetle of vaping! I noticed a lot of online retailers are starting to "close-out" the KPT2 and KPT3, as well as some of the other die-hard pro-tank and mini styles, but Kanger has NOT stopped making them (yet), so I think your assessment of cost-to-profit ratio is probably spot-on.

Shakes head at whole (insanity) of the article.... I recently camped at a national park, and saw one ranger the whole time, when I bought my camping permit (and he had an Spinner and Aspire K1 in his chest-pocket). Other campers were smoking, drinking, burning far more than "approved wood" in their campfires, and vapers are the targets of bans??? Yes, heaven forbid someone down-wind of me receive 1/100th the second-hand Nicotine as a from a smoker... and how dare us not pollute other people's lungs with carcinogens or stink up the place with sweet-smelling bakery or fruit flavors? This crap from our gov't (in the pockets of Big-Tobacco) has got to STOP...
-
When it comes to a "standard" tank, I do love my AeroTanks (V1 and V2). You can get the colored glass for them... Sweet-Vapes is where I bought my last smoke-colored glass for mine, and they had a rainbow available (at the time). The AeroTanks, KPT2, and KPT3 all use the same (size) glass section. I prefer the air-flow controller of the AT-V2 better than the V1, but both work very well, and both use the Kanger dual-coils (BDC) which are available in resistance from 0.8 Ohms up to 2.0 Ohms. The KPT2 (single-coil) can also use the Aerotank air-flow bases, so for $3-4 you can change your KPT2 or Davide tanks into Aerotanks, and still use the cheaper single coils. The Nautilus and Nautilus mini are good (although I'm not a huge fan, mostly due to the price and how fragile they are), and you get good flavor from them without going sub-ohm. BUT, the Nautilus, to my knowledge, does not have colorful glass available. The sub-tank mini and nano are available in colors (black, white, pink, and more are coming), and you can get coils for them up to 1.5 Ohm?? ( I can't remember off-hand, sorry). But, for me, the price, reliability, and function of the KPT2 (with air-flow controller) or the AeroTanks cannot be beat... when you're talking about a basic tank.
-
B, I feel for you... I really do... but I'm in the same boat All of my back-up eGo's, KPT3-minis, KPT2's, Nautilus, and my subtank-nano have found their way into HER rack of vape-gear, ... and she has her eye on my Cloupor minis, too (because their so cute and small, lol). But hey, how can we say "no" when they smile so pretty and bat a few eyelashes at us? (makes me melt) I guess I'll be ordering a couple Cloupor minis (for her) or the new mini-plus (for myself), and picking up a couple of Subtank-minis this week, too...

What coils go to the mini Davids
Earthling789 replied to Patricia's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Are they they originals or the updated ones from Aspire? The originals use the KPT single-coils (BCC). The updated ones from Aspire use the Aspire K1 BVC or BDC coils (not the Nautilus coils), and they also use the KPT single-coils. -
I want to paint my kangertech genitank mini
Earthling789 replied to Beckie4's topic in General Vaping Discussion
The OP was referring to the glassomizer/tank, not the APV (battery). There are no "cases" (or sleeves/covers) available for the Genitank
