  1. Oh man... that is one thing I've noticed after only 6-months of vaping... no more nic-fits!! Before I started vaping, I could only go about 90-min without lighting up... any longer than that and I'd start strangling hookers, lol I'm glad you had plenty of back-ups... and from what I know of your previous purchases, I was sure you had PLENTY of backups to keep you going! There's been times when a half-charged eGo and a KPT3-mini was my only working backup of a backup of a backup, and I was glad I found it in the saddlebags... But, even then, like you, I would have been fine making it home without a vape.
  2. Everclear is a high % grain alcohol sold in 151 and 190 Proof, and is a fantastic cleaning agent! It may not be in every liquor store in your local area, but it should easily be found in larger liquor stores.
  3. I've not tried the Pegasus 70W, but held one at the local B&M, and it seemed pretty solid and felt okay in my hand. The Triton 2 is a good tank, and I like them quite well. Some have complained about threading issues on the top-cap, but mine is smooth. Capacity is good, Pyrex tank, which is replaceable, and the coils have good flavor and vapor (and I'm using the 1.8 Ohm). My only complaint is the coils... they don't seem to last as long as the Kanger SubTank OCC coils... they seem to gum-up and restrict air-flow after only 4-5 tank-fulls... after 10 tank-fulls, airflow is so restricted, it's like sucking a thick milkshake through a tiny straw, lol
  4. ^^ This ^^ Internal (Li-Ion) battery, 4500mAh, 6-60W power ability, puff counter, bright display, solid buttons, and still one of the more durable APV's around... MVP series units are known for reliability and very durable. I used my MVP2.0 for 16 months before I paid it forward... and the recipient has been using it every day for the past 6-8 months without ANY issues or diminished power. I didn't realize there were 3 USB ports on it, but the Micro port is used to charge it, and the standard USB port is used by other devices to be charged FROM/BY the MVP. I've no clue what the 3rd is for? I've used my 2.0 several times to put an emergency charge on my cell phone's pitiful battery, and it worked very well.
  5. His name is "Bo"... to go with "Bella", our 4-yr old Dane... Yes, he sleeps like that quite often... he has to have his head propped up on something, or hanging over the couch cushion. It must be a Dane thing because both of them do it, and I remember the one we had when I was younger doing the same thing. They are HUGE couch-potatoes, lol I visited the litter only 3 days after they were born, and he actually was the only pup to squirm his way to me and snuggle up to my leg... at that time, I knew he was going to go home with me, and he'd not even opened his eyes to be able to see ME Jason, I'll be happy to send you another kitten... my son broke down a few months ago, and while he was looking under the hood, his open door became an invitation for a solid-black female stray to make a home in his warm back seat So, she has a new home, although there are days when I wish her home was somewhere else, lol. I'm sure she'll settle down once she gets older, but for now, she's literally climbing walls (and curtains, and counter-tops, and furniture, and TV's...)
  6. Just checked my manual... "Auto sensing Ni or Ti wire..." It also auto suggests proper joules based on temp selected, and allows manual TC mode as well. Sorry, no SS mode
  7. I have 3 of the standard minis (30W), and already have a blue Mini-Plus, but I've not tried the temp-control yet... although I do have a few Ni200 coils, but don't plan to use them (because of all the negatives I keep reading about them). I picked up the black and orange Mini-Plus because I felt I needed to stock up whenever I can find them under $30, and on sale these were $27.85 each I do love the way these Clourpors feel in my hand, and they are just so darn durable (and portable)! I've soaked, dropped, and banged the 30W versions like crazy and they still look great, and keep on working!! I guess next on my list will be a roll of Ti so I can at least use that in my RBA decks and give TC a whirl... Or perhaps some Ti or SS pre-mades?
  8. Nope, not a grandchild, but still will get treated like one My new Great Dane puppy has been here for 2 weeks (turned 10 weeks old today, and already 28-lb), and I wanted to share a few pics of him with my V|T family... My older Dane is almost 4, and was jealous for a couple days, but she's now started allowing him to lay on her couch with her, although she's not ready to share her food bowl, lol...
  9. Got most of my goodies from 101Vape today... Another SubTank Mini with bonus o-ring kit 5-pack of 1.2 Ohm Vertical OCC Cloupor Mini-Plus 50W TC in black I'm still waiting on the Orange Cloupor Mini-Plus to arrive... it should have been in this shipment, but they apologized for a stocking issue and are shipping it separately (should arrive tomorrow or Thursday?). Oh, and they gave me a $5 credit on my next order
  10. I ordered another Subtank Mini and two 5-packs of 1.2 Ohm Vertical coils from 101Vape... they finally had a sale worth of buying something, lol
  11. Received my six boxes of Nautilus, Triton, and SubTank coils (2 each) from SweetVapes on Tuesday, and today, my SO's prize from the Christmas drawing at the local vape-shop arrived... a purple SubVod kit and 120ml of cinnamon fireball juice!
  12. I've not bought a commercial juice in almost a year, lol... But, when I did buy from the shops, I bought the house-brand mixes and from premium suppliers like Suicide Bunny, 5Pawns, Mad Alchemist, etc., and of course Fadora Vapor! Today, my favorite ADV is a Vanilla/Black-cherry/Cuban 40/60 6mg mix, which is more vanilla than anything, but still has the hint of a good, sweet Cuban cigar. I also love chocolate and mix quite a few chocolate mixes to mimic favorite candies... chocolate/raspberry, cordial cherry, PB cups, Snickers, fudge, chocolate/caramel, etc. and fruit combos depending on my tastes for the day... also with heavy vanillas to cut down on the tart/citrus of the fruits. I mix most of my juices to 50/50 or 40/60, but a few of the creamy chocolates I like to get a bit thicker on, so they are 30/70 or 20/80 My SO loves cinnamon, and her ADV is a flavor similar to Big Red bubblegum, heavy on cinnamon, 18mg 50/50, and a black raspberry champagne flavor I accidentally mixed (which she said is really good).
  13. Shipping is the bane of my existence, lol... I ordered something from Lexington before Christmas and it took 8 days to deliver via UPS, and I could have drove to pick it up in less than an hour The last few things I've ordered from China (even through Amazon) have delivered fairly quick... 5-9 days, but they usually go through Europe when they are delivered that fast. Anything that crosses the Pacific usually gets held up in customs for weeks at a time, or it goes to South America and gets delivered by pack-mule lol
  14. What wattage are you using? What is the resistance of the coil? What is the level of nicotine in your juice? Are you using a standard kanthal coil or a temp-control coil (NI200 or Ti coil)? Organic cotton wicks? I'll assume the guys at the shop primed the second coil... if they didn't, I'd not trust them to sell me anything else, or their opinion on what is good/bad Once you answer the 5 questions above, we can help to narrow down the issue.
  15. I hope everyone had a pleasant and safe New Year's Eve, and here's to hoping 2016 is an even better year for everyone than the last!!
  16. Bingo... Marketing analysts have proven many times over that the word "SALE" brings an actual euphoria or happiness to people, and a single "SALE" sign in a window will double the traffic into a B&M! Big retailers like Walmart, and especially Best Buy... whoa... they never have what they advertise on sale, but are really quick to push you to something "similar" at twice the price...or something cheaply-made for only $5 more than the "good" product on sale... Retail America is truly an impulse-buy, feel-good lot of consumers....
  17. Well, in all my years in retail, and the past 20 years of analyzing big-data for different companies... I can say for certain that retailers are not going to miss an opportunity to maintain profit-margins, even during sales-events... It's always a numbers-game, but for once, I'd like to see a real sale. We all know wholesale pricing from China, and anyone that has worked retail knows mark-ups are always high... so, would it kill any retailer to cut into their profits by even 5% for a few days and garner some customer base?? I think the biggest slap I saw today is the sale from a vendor I bought my Triton2 from before Christmas... for $26.99. Today, they are $34.99 during their 20% off sale, so that brings them down to $27.99... a whole dollar MORE than pre-Christmas, and the exact same price as 3 other vendors I looked at in the past few days. Even their coil prices are up so high that after you subtract the 20% off, they are $1-4 more than my go-to vendor's regular, every-day price!! If you don't pay attention, you can get fleeced pretty good this time of year
  18. I received a few "New Year's Sales" emails today... and each one I've checked out show higher prices on everything in their store, so those 15-25% off sales appear to be "good", but in reality are bringing prices back to the exact same levels they were two days ago Do retailers hope we're all stupid? What ever happened to REAL sales??
  19. I have a V1 and a V2, and never had any leaks from either Triton! Like Tam said, the V1 had issues with the center not opening enough to let juice flow to the coil (not on all of them, but enough of them to know there was an issue)... and the V2 sometimes has issues with the heat-sync locking-up threading (probably due to heat expansion). But, neither leak... I got more leakage from my Nautilus, but my SO has been using it for 4-5 months now, and never experienced a leak yet... so the leakage must have just been "my" juice or lack of regular use? There are plenty of good air-flow tanks out there, but many of them are designed for sub-ohm (although plus-ohm coils can be found for them), and most all of them are bottom-fill. The Kanger sub-tank mini is one of my favorites... great air-flow, can use 1.2 or 1.5 Ohm coils if you don't wan to sub-ohm, can use RBA deck to personalize your coil/resistance/wick, decent capacity, but yes, bottom-fill...
  20. No vape gear for me either... I've got plenty to keep me going for quite some time I did however snag some Nautilus coils and a new Nautilus (spare) for the SO with my reward points at the local B&M. They were offering a double-points deal the week before Christmas, so I stopped by to check my balance, and found out I had enough to get 50% off hardware purchase up to $60... so a Nautilus and two boxes of coils cost me less than $30! Speaking of PC hardware... I built my son an uber-gaming PC for Christmas, and found out the PSU I bought barely had enough to run his GPU's in cross-fire, even though it was well within specs to handle both 3GB cards Oh well... I can use that PSU in my new media server build, and it looks like he's getting a new PSU for his system as soon as NewEgg has the one he wants back in stock, lol... When it comes to PC's... more is good, but overkill is sometimes better
  21. Propaganda!! All the stats being thrown about by the anti-vaping crowd ask two questions when polling teens: 1) Have you ever smoked a cigarette, and 2) Have you ever tried vaping. If anyone answers yes to both, they assume vaping leads to smoking, regardless of if they tried smoking at 15 and vaping at 17 or vise-versa! More reliable studies have shown that vaping does NOT lead to smoking, except in very limited cases, and statistically those are lower than than those who will start smoking even without ever hearing about vaping. I agree, have a talk and ask the simple question of "why"! And, please, if your cousin is determined to vape, ensure your cousin is at least using reliable equipment and 0-Nicotine juices!! Nicotine is not carcinogenic (contrary to propaganda), but it is not healthy for a teen to start using. Do I condone teens vaping? No! Mostly because all the teens I've seen vaping are only doing it to look cool, blow big annoying clouds, and do "vape-tricks". Yes, it is better than smoking, but there are other ways to be "cool"... healthier ways...
  22. Those charts are based on 1.8-2.2 Ohm ratings and probably 6-8W of power. Think of it this way... if you need 18mg at 2.0 Ohms, then when you lower the resistance by 50% to 1.0 Ohms, you need to lower you Nicotine level by at least 25%, up to 50%. Using a 0.5 Ohm coil would require an equivalent juice at 4.5-6.0mg, and depending on your vaping habits (i.e. Chain-vaping), you may want to use 3mg? Heat is the factor here. Nicotine is absorbed exponentially faster as heat increases. The hotter your coil (lower resistance), the less Nicotine you need to vape to get the same effect as you do at higher resistances (cooler vape). This is a proven fact from tests done on absorption rates from the Nicotine patches. Raising the temp of the patch by 5-deg F, increased the absorption rate by as high as 20%, causing light-headiness, nausea, or, at minimum, the usual "Nicotine-rush" you use to get with the first cigarette in the mornings. So, as heat increases, you don't get MORE Nicotine... you get it FASTER, which is why you have to use lower Nicotine level juices when you sub-ohm!
  23. Mine does this constantly, and I've attributed it to the coils. Some coils are a fraction taller than others, or the upper threading is a little "tight", causing the coil to remain attached to the chimney and not the base (where the threading is looser and an o-ring is helping to keep it from sticking, causing "spring-pressure"). I've made notes of which coils "hang", and when I rebuild them and re-use them... they still hang in the chimney. Those that didn't out-of-the-box, don't hang after rebuilding, so the only reason I can assume is the upper threading on the coil body is causing this problem. It's not a huge issue, really, but can be frustrating, I know. Think of it this way... now you have an opportunity to clean-out the base of any drips (using a q-tip or tissue) every time you fill-up I try to do that anyway, even if the coil remains in the base when I open the tank. Preventative maintenance to remove any drips from the base will save you from leakage which will damage your battery!! Or, just keep the juice off your hands/clothes/desk as it drips out of the air-holes (once enough accumulates).
  24. B, I know you just ordered another iStick 50W, but we're really liking the Wismec Presa 40W... Yes, they are smaller in size and battery (only 2600mAh), but the three we have are working well, and zero issues! They charge pretty fast, too... about 2-hrs compared to 5-hrs for the iStick, and they hold a full-size Nautilus, Triton2, or Subtank-mini like they were made for them
