  1. Yes, this forum is US based, but we do have members all over the world... we also try not to be too nasty, lol... but we do poke a little fun from time to time Kangertech is a good brand, and yes, they have box-style models, but most (if not all of them, as I recall) require an 18650 battery. Once you install the battery, you can charge it by the device like a built-in, but it is an additional expense beyond buying the device. 18650 batteries are usually pretty cheap... $5-6 avg price for a Samsung 25R, which are one of the best on the market. Adding in a good external charger from Nitecore is another $12-20, but these are expenses you make once and not have to worry about it again for months or years. The external charger will allow you to swap batteries and charge them at your leisure. As for those of us using external batteries, they are (to most of us) more convenient, as we can swap batteries as needed, and charge them at our convenience later... and not have to deal with being tethered to a cord while charging. if you're looking for a box that does not need an external 18650 battery, I would suggest the Wismec Presa 40W or the Eleaf iStick 50W. They have built-in batteries. The iStick has been known to have fire-button issues in rare occasions, but for the most part they are reliable. I personally have 3 of the Wismec 40W, and they are fantastic devices (and very portable). For a box-mod starter kit, I highly recommend you check out the Kangertech SubTank Mini kit. The newest top-fill version is available online for $50-60, and will provide you the best bang for your buck, and has features and options to keep you vaping happy for many months (or years) to come.
  2. Welcome to VT! The vape-pen you have is a knock-off/clone of the KangerTech EVOD battery and looks like an MT3 tank. These can work well, but you have to ensure you are using the correct coil resistance (and the correct coil, period). For this, I would recommend a 1.8 Ohm coil at the lowest. If it is cooking your juices (making them dark and thick, it is too hot, so use a coil higher than 2.0 Ohms and it will reduce the issue. Another issue could just be the juice you're using... I highly recommend a variable-wattage box-mod, and a much better tank. Tanks from Kangertech, Aspire, Anyvape, Smok, Uwell, and a few other Name-brands will function far better than the MT3 clone you're using now. There are also plenty of good starter kits out there which will provide you with battery and tank in one package. I highly recommend the Kangertech SubTank Mini or Nano kit, which can be found online for $39-55, and your local shops will have them for about 20-40% markup, but you can have it "today".
  3. I loved the Triton V1, after I got a new tank for it... the original would lock-up juice-flow The V2 Triton is better IMO because of the abitlity to take it apart and replace the glass if it breaks, lol... The only complaints I have on the whole system is the coils don't last nearly as long as I feel they should, and the top-cap threading on some of them is sub-par. Fortunately, the top-cap on mine is pristine, but the coils sometimes don't last more than 4-5 tankfuls before they get too tight to draw or lose flavor... some go 10 tanks... so there is no consistency
  4. As Jason indicated above... Sony is the MOST cloned battery or re-wrapped battery on the market, and unless you are absolutely sure you are not receiving a re-wrapped Trustfire or something like that... (i.e. buying from trusted source), it is best to get the Samsung or LG batteries (also from a trusted source), mostly because they are less likely to be re-wrapped junk, and they are also considerably cheaper than the Sony.
  5. Today's snow-covered mail contained my package from VapeNW One Wismec Presa 75W TC Mod in black ($29.99) One Original Nautilus with bonus spare glass ($19.99) - bought for the SO... she loves them Two Packages of Kanger Ni200 SSOCC coils ($10.99/each) Three Efest-logo 3-battery zipper cases ($1.99/each) - great for carrying batteries, accessories, juice, tanks, etc.... small MODs like a Cloupor Mini and an Aerotank fit perfectly, with room to spare for an extra coil One Palm Pearl 4000mAH power bank with built-in cables ($9.99 on clearance) - always in need of spare power for my phone, lol I've yet to really handle anything because I'm waiting for them to reach room temp before opening any packages, to reduce condensation, especially on the MOD and Palm Pearl.
  6. You are correct, I just pulled up the image of the battery tray of the RX200... they are series, and not parallel ... my mistake Since they are in series, that means you can get higher Voltage/Wattage, but NOT NOT NOT Amps... three 20A batteries means you should not exceed 20A load. Series multiples Voltage... Parallel multiplies Amps/mAh
  7. Both batteries listed are 20A continuous rated, and 2500mAh. The RX200 uses them in parallel, so you're getting the same 3.7-4.2V, but 60A and 7500mah power. Yes, they should be "safe" as long as you aren't trying to use a micro-ohm coil (below 0.1 Ohm) and the full 200W. If I'm not mistaken, the LG HB6/HB2 Jason recommended would give better overhead for Amps, but you lose power capacity (mAh), as it will drop from 7500mAh total to 4500mAh total... so you'll have to swap batteries more often and recharge more often. The general rule for Amp rating is the higher the Amp-rating, the lower the mAh capacity, but this is NOT always true, as some "cheap" batteries are just low on both points! As for Vape-Time, I was referring to the length of each "hit" on the device. Long 10-second drags on the tank/RBA/RDA put more stress on the batteries than quickie/short puffs of 3-5 seconds. I don't know about you, but my average draw on my Subtank Mini is 8-seconds, and I've been known to hit the 10-sec cut-off limit of my MODs before
  8. First of all, I'll address the batteries... the Samsung 25R are one of the best batteries on the market, but they are only rated for 20A continuous discharge. Yes, you can push them higher, but it is not recommended for more than short-bursts of 1-2 seconds. The others Jason listed above can handle slightly higher Amps on continuous discharge, but no battery has been independently lab-tested to higher than 30A continuous. As @jasonculp indicated, for safety, only a 3-battery 200W mod would be recommended. For "normal" vaping needs (under 100W), the Samsung 25R and 30Q, or LG HE2 or HG2 are highly praised and reliable, safe batteries -- WHEN USED CORRECTLY. As for the MOD recommended for performance... you need to define what you mean by performance... My IPV-minis are only 30W (70W for V2's), and they have excellent performance, in the sense of reliability and uniform/consistent power every time I push the fire-button. Same can be said for my Cloupor Mini's and Mini-plus units. If you are looking for mind-blowing power... performance (uniform power) begins to diminish unless you are shelling out for extremely high-end chipsets, and for those you'll pay upwards of $1-2 per Watt of output. The Wismec you mentioned (rx200) is getting good reviews. Also, anything from Sigelei, Cloupor, or IPV (Pioneer 4 You) would be reliable and consistent, and yes, there are other good ones from SMY, Kangertech, Smok, etc... and plenty of designs using DNA chipsets too. It's not always a "you get what you pay for" game because there are some real gems in the bargain-bin, especially if you're looking for MODs in the sub 75W range. Once you start above 75W, the competition gets less, and the prices go higher (for the most part). I always thought I needed a 100W+ MOD... but once I actually had one, I realized that for MY vaping needs, it would never be used to its potential, plus it was bulky and uncomfortable for all-day use... so I sold it to a co-worker. Like I said above, I rarely go above 40W, and my all-day-vape tastes just fine at 15-18W (using a 1.2 Ohm coil). On rare occasions I'll go higher than 40W when dripping or sub-ohming (tank) for special juices (which taste okay at higher power). For ME, I'm happy limiting my MOD ratings at < 50W, and a few 70/75W devices, just in case, lol. And, my wallet thanks me My last 75W mod was a Wismec 75W-TC which I picked up for the bargain-bin price of $29.99, and my three Cloupor Mini Plus 50W-TC units were even less than that (they were on sale, too)!
  9. I would say there will be a 300W mod popping out soon, but it will require a 12V Die-Hard or small nuclear reactor to power it... and the only thing you'll be able to do with it is power a TV, PC, or microwave... because any juice at that high Wattage wouldn't be "consumable"
  10. 200W with a 0.1 Ohm coil would require a 45A battery... accounting for overhead/safety, you'd need a dual-18650 box-mod with batteries in parallel (to double Amp and mAh ratings) to combine rating of 60A minimum. For that, you'd need two 30A minimum rated batteries. IIRC, LG HE2 are 35A, as well as Purple Efest. @jasonculp, he will be able to recommend specific batteries to achieve 60A in dual-battery-mode mods. As for the mod... I've no recommendation for anything that powerful... the most power I use currently is 40W, on a really good day!
  11. And the opportunity to have a bit of fun, lol

  13. Did someone say "help me spend my money "??? Welcome to VT!
  14. I agree with Comp and Tam... the battery is not the issue, or cause of the issue... your MOD appears to be defective and has now damaged the battery. If the MOD is under warranty, get it repaired/replaced... if not under warranty, dispose of it, drop the battery off for recycling, and start over with a new (reliable/reputable) MOD and a GOOD battery from Samsung, LG, or Efest... NEVER go cheap on a battery!!
  15. Nope, didn't miss the sale... they're still $29.99 at VapeNW... I just checked I'll probably update mine to the V3 software as soon as it comes in... which hopefully will be in the next couple of days, unless these snow storms cause a delay in shipment, that is...
  16. More VapeMail today! Today's arrival from 101Vape: Six LG HE2 18650's (Battery blow-out deal - $7/pr... I should have bought a few more at those prices?) Six AA/AAA battery boxes ($0.99/each, so I can organize my loose batteries and my rechargeable AA/AAA's) 50 Kanger BDC 1.2 Ohm ($3.99/box, upgraded OCC) coils for my Aerotanks and KPT3-minis Three Kayfun Bell Caps ($1.99/each, because they were cheaper than replacement acrylic center rings) One DOD Stainless drip-tip ($3.49, just to try it out)... it's similar to the ones shipped with Orchids One black Sigelei Vr2 50W Mod ($19.99 on clearance, bought for the SO... she thought it was "pretty", lol) From 101Vape back-order: My Orange Cloupor Mini Plus finally arrived on Friday last week.... Now I have three (blue, black, and orange)! My thoughts on the Sigelei... this thing is bulky, even compared to my IPV-minis, and the "box" design is just not nearly as comfortable as my Cloupor Minis (because it is HUGE compared to them). I'm also not thrilled about the silicone cover either... it's thin, and white, which ruins the look of the MOD, IMO... why can't they send black? The MOD itself, looks good, and works as it should, but not exactly my cup-o-tea, and not exactly sure the SO will really like it due to size? If nothing else, it's a good spare, $20 50W mod, and should be another reliable addition to the collection
  17. Welcome! You're off to a running start! @jasonculp Glad to hear you're liking that Wismec 75WTC... I just ordered one from VapeNW (they had a killer price of $29 on them), and hoped they'd be as good as the original 40W Presa models. I love the form-factor and feel of them in my hand
  18. VapeNW has always been a great vendor for me, but I still get coils and some bargains from S-V... And, 101Vape can come through with some good prices and fast shipping, too, that is when they're not playing with their prices!
  19. I thought I was imagining this. I also think the horizontal coils taste better... I dont use anuthing but the RBAs bit my wife prefers the pre made coils and I swear they taste better.... Nope, not your imagination... Taste is better on the horizontal coils... [emoji3]
  20. Thanks! Sweet-Vapes had the Pyrex Bell Caps for $5 and spare ST air-flow bases for $7, so for less than $12 you get a really cool looking ST-mini... and the Bell Cap also works with either the original RBA or the RBA-plus
  21. That was my thought too... on the "not pocket friendly", so that is why it will stay at my desk for a "work tank"
  22. Today, I learned a Pyrex Bell Cap and spare SubTank air-flow base can give you a full-size SubTank Mini for 1/3 the price... and it makes for a really cool looking addition to the arsenal of tanks
  23. Nope, Cany... not that bad at all... and the first time you are out and are attacked by Murphy's Law (rather than the Muffin Man, lol), you'll be glad you have spares More than once, I've had battery AND tank failures which has caused me to roll through my backups like Kleenex
  24. Today, I received 4 packs of Horizontal SubTank coils from Sweet-Vapes (I think they taste better, and they're so easy to re-wick to make them last longer), as well as two ST RBA's (one original, one plus), and something interesting... They had Pyrex ST Bell Caps (with frosted drip-tip) for $5 on sale, and ST air-flow bases for $7, so now I have an all-Pyrex SubTank for 1/3 the price of a "real" SubTank Mini I think it looks kinda sweet on my Cloupor Mini! I'll probably only use this at the house, for fear of dropping/breaking it, but it looks really good... Next time I order from S-V, I may pick up a couple more caps and bases... the Bell Cap only has option for SS connection, but I think it would still look good with a black base?
  25. If I'm going away for a weekend, I carry a minimum of 4 of everything, as well as my coil-building kit... just in case! You can never have too many, but you can easily have too few
