  1. I charge all of my batteries in an external charger... They charge faster, and I don't trust them inside a MOD to charge... I mean if something catastrophic happens to the battery, then the MOD would be destroyed, and I paid a whole lot less for my NiteCore chargers than I did for the MODs My SO has charged her battery in the MOD many times without instance, but before she met me, she only had one battery for her Sigelei 50W (at least it was a good Samsung 25R). Now, I have her using Cloupor, Kanger, and Wismec Presa mods along with her Sigelei, and she rotates through the half-dozen batteries I gave her, charging them only in the Nitecore charger... unless of course, she has no choice but to charge in the MOD while out-and-about or at work, without a spare battery.
  2. Welcome Back! So very glad you're okay!
  3. Sometimes coils aren't perfect and they leak, causing the air-tube to fill with juice, like a straw. If the coil is leaking, it will also be evident by juice leaking out of air-holes at the bottom of the tank. If it were me, I'd take the tank apart and clean it... and start over with a fresh coil.
  4. The stealth is cool, and I think you'll really like the subvod nano... I've been using the nano for roughly a year, on my Cloupor minis without any issues... great size/combo. When the SO won her Subvod Nano (and didn't like it), I started using it as a "traveling rig" while on my bike... and it is perfect for that because it fits perfectly into the wide pen-pocket of my riding jacket, or perfectly inside the side pocket of my tank bag!
  5. Well, I decided I have too many tanks (still have four subtank minis in sealed boxes), so, I gave the PT4 away to my future brother-in-law. He's fairly new to vaping (about 6-months), and needed a decent back-up/spare! I still don't know if the OCC will work with this tank, but I gave him a couple of the 1.2 Ohm Vertical coils (I prefer the horizontal coils) to try, so he can find out for me He has a Subtank mini, as well, so if they don't fit the PT4, he can still use them in his subtank.
  6. Ahh, how little you all know me I've never been impatient to open anything, even at Christmas, lol...
  7. Yeah, it gets better after 3-4 days, but pretty good on day one, lol Sent from my XT1094 using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah, the CL is a strange beast, but I guess it had to be built that way to be EU compliant? It is a cup-shape design and the coil is top-loading, yet still goes to the bottom. I have been looking hard at images, and the RBA deck for the PT4 looks huge compared to the SSOCC next to it, so that was my theory behind, "an OCC should fit"? Somebody that owns one will come along soon, hopefully, and can tell me for sure. I'm not desperate to open the box, as I don't need it, but it would be a good spare / backup (or a PIF gift), and it at least holds a good amount of juice (5ml).
  9. My SO won a SubVod and hated it... mostly because they only gave her 0.5 Ohm coils... but I recently started using it (just like FXRich) to have something cheap and portable for my motorcycle rides so I wouldn't run the risk of damaging or losing one of my more expensive rigs if I dropped it or left it at a diner ... and I really like it, even the color (purple). Sure, it's no TC/VV/VW mod, but the battery is decent size to handle a tank or two, and the tank is a Nano (3ml), so it's not so small you have to refill it every hour, lol. Of course, my all-time favorite for using while I'm cutting grass or working in the garage is the basic eGo-style battery (yes, I have a couple of eGo-T still alive) with a Kanger PT3-mini. Small enough to fit in a shirt pocket like an ink pen, there are plenty of holders for them, including a lanyard, and they are just bullet-proof! PLUS, the Kanger BDC coils are available in 0.8 - 2.2 Ohms, so you can find one that fits your (Wattage) liking, even with a static 3.7V eGo-T!
  10. LOL, yeah, I have enough horizontal coils to last me decades (if I rebuild them) The "chunky" part was my concern. My SO's SubTank Nano V2 sometimes has issues with them bumping the side-supports, but not always... and I didn't want to crack-open the sealed box only to find out my stockpile of OCC won't fit the thinner PT4 I have a few boxes of SSOCC Ni200 coils which I suppose I could use exclusively in the PT4, but... I just didn't want to have to stock-up on SSOCC vertical coils, just for one tank...
  11. I just received one of these as a door prize from the local Vape Shop's monthly give-away, and I've not opened it yet... just in case I want to re-gift it, lol... I know this is not exactly my preference for a tank because the Pyrex is not replaceable, but my main concern is the coils.... I have a couple hundred SubTank OCC coils (square ones with horizontal 1.2 coils), and before I even consider opening the box, I'm curious if the square SubTank coils will work with it (due to the fact the PT4 is 1mm smaller in diameter)?? Anybody have a PT4 and tried the original SubTank OCC coils in it?
  12. Black Cherry is pretty strong in mixes... it's another flavor that I try to keep under 3%, even as a flavor you want to taste. For a background, 1% is usually pretty good. There are several similarly strong flavors... lemon, banana, coconut... those come to mind at the moment.
  13. I was about to chime-in after reading your mixture ratios... For most things I use coconut in, I limit it to 2-3% (and sometimes less) because it does get stronger after it steeps. Adding more chocolate is always good, lol If you like Reece Cups, Try a mix of 8% Dark Chocolate (or 10% Milk Chocolate), 8% Peanut Butter, and 2% Bavarian Cream!
  14. I tested one of my 1.2 Ohm Subtank mini coils on a Vision Spinner 2, and the coil would not fire. It meters at 1.17 Ohms, so I would assume the cut-off for lowest resistance is 1.2 Ohms (or even higher)? Like @Tam said, I have also successfully used 1.5 Ohm coils with the Spinner 2, when the Spinner 2 was one of my regular back-up batteries.
  15. Hi, and welcome to the forum! Simple... yes... annoying... no! LOL Yes, you can use the Triton Mini tank with the eLeaf 40W-TC. Yes, 50/50 juices will wick well with the Triton Mini / Nautilus coils, and many of our users prefer the 1.6 Ohm and 1.8 Ohm coils over all other offerings. Depending on your juice, you'll want to use a lower Wattage, say somewhere between 9W and 18W? That battery will also handle Temp Control coils in Ni200 and Ti, but I'd not venture into TC until you have a better handle on coil resistances and Wattage under "normal" use Feel free to ask anything... we're always willing to help... and help you spend money...
  16. I use both factory coils and build my own coils for RBA decks... I also rebuild many of my factory coils after they no longer vape well, especially the horizontal Kanger coils because they are so easy and cheap to rebuild. Factory coils are very convenient, and for the most part, economical... so I do keep a few handy when I'm out-and-about for a quick coil refresh, and since I have plenty (factory-fresh and rebuilt heads) handy... I don't think twice about swapping one out a little sooner than most people do.
  17. Well said, Tam! Vaping for "competition" or "fun" is one of the main reasons vaping is under-fire from the FDA and the court-of-public-opinion... Vaping is an excellent way to get away from smoking cigarettes (or cigars, pipe, etc.), but if you never actively smoked, you should not even consider vaping. Vaping is not a "cure" for damaged lung tissue, it is merely a (very) effective alternative smoking cessation device to the inferior offerings by the pharmaceutical companies (patches, gums, inhalers, etc.).
  18. Bribes are illegal... that is why politicians changed the name to "campaign contributions"... just like it's illegal to solicit sex... but it's perfectly legal to pay for sex as long as you film it... then it becomes "art", lmbo....
  19. Wayne, Please use the SEARCH feature of the forum... we've discussed this topic before. But, in the simplest answer... you're 15, underage, and should not be vaping anyway because it is not legal for you to do so.
  20. Yeah, you don't have to wait on them... I rarely wait to use the ones I mix, but they do tend to taste a bit better after they've sat for a few days. Thorough mixing is usually good enough, but subtle flavors of the mix will be more pronounced as the flavor evolves.
  21. I don't steep mine, religiously... If I mix them in the bottle, I'll cap it, shake well, remove the cap, and let them set overnight, cap, shake, and start using it. They do tend to taste better after they've sat for a couple days, but after that, the flavor doesn't change much, other than the chocolate sometimes tastes a bit "richer", but it could just be my imagination, lol. When I mix in the bottle, I put in Nicotine base first, then PG, flavorings, and VG last. I don't know why, but they tend to blend better that way, and the taste is better, faster... I guess because the heavier components are on the ends, which forces better mixing due to viscosity differences? For mixes I blend in a beaker (batches larger than 30ml), I use a magnetic stirrer to blend the components as I measure them out. I put the Nicotine base in last, after the PG/VG/flavorings have blended for the majority of time, to prevent premature Oxygenation. I'll let them blend at a low speed (vortex) for 10-30 minutes, adding Nicotine in the last 5 minutes, and at that point, they're ready to vape, no steeping (sitting) required. Blending time is based on the volume and speed... larger volume = more time. You'll know when you've blended it too long because the Nicotine will Oxygenate and the mix will begin to get very dark or amber in color. A magnetic stirrer can be pricey, but you can sometimes pick one up (used) from a school or local lab. I snagged mine from the local college's Organic Chemistry lab for free. It didn't work, but all it needed was a new fuse and a good cleaning. If you don't have a magnetic stirrer, a glass rod or stainless spoon work well to blend/stir in a beaker, but stirring for a long time wears you out, lol... using an Erlenmeyer flask is a good choice too... as you can stir by simply shaking the flask in a motion to cause the mixture to rotate... it is easier than using a rod/spoon, and if you use a 500ml flask, you can mix 250ml of juice easily... over-filling beyond half-way and you don't get good rotation for thorough mixing, especially if your mix is thick (30/70 or higher VG content).
  22. This is the mixture I like best... using TFA flavorings and my Nicotine is 100mg/ml (10%) in VG. TFA Milk Chocolate - 10% TFA Raspberry (ripe) - 10% TFA DX Bavarian Cream - 3.3% To make a 30ml bottle of 50/50 PG/VG, at 6mg Nicotine level... mix the following: 1.8ml Nicotine (100ml/mg in VG) 8.1ml PG 13.2ml VG 3.0ml Milk Chocolate 3.0ml Raspberry 1.0ml Bavarian Cream Adjust the Bavarian Cream and Raspberry to taste... I like a bit more Raspberry for the tart berry taste, but for creamier flavor, use 2ml each Raspberry and Bavarian Cream. You can also use Dark Chocolate, but if you do, I'd use a little Vanilla Custard or Marshmallow to add a little sweetness to the mix.
  23. It's been a while since I've charged one too, but I just plugged in one of my old back-up eGo batteries and it stayed red until charged, then blinked red/green a few times, before going to solid green, indicating full charge. If memory serves, a slow-blinking red means the battery is not making good contact with the charger or the battery is incapable of charging (defective). Try lifting the center pin of the battery by prying it up, slightly, with a small screwdriver and that may solve your problem. It could just be the battery is beyond it's life-cycle and won't charge again? Have you also tried a different charger?
  24. Nah, I don't get tired typing about what I love The PG and VG won't need to be placed into glass or smaller bottles, unless you just want to make them easier to store. I frequently store my PG and VG in the gallon or liter bottles they came in, and only separate them into smaller bottles once I open the seal on a gallon jug... not to mention, the mini-fridge I use in my office won't accommodate too many gallon jugs The gallons tend to go into the deep-freeze! I also do not pre-mix anything... it makes it much harder to factor and figure your mixes if you're pre-mixing PG/VG/Nicotine, because you're limiting yourself on the amount of flavorings you can use to achieve the 70/30 or 50/50 mixes you want, and run the risk of further diluting your nicotine to a lower level than you think it is (which might not be a bad thing). I leave everything separate until I'm ready to mix a juice to completion! Another reason I don't pre-mix VG/PG/Nicotine is that they have different shelf-lives, and I don't want to shorten the shelf-life of my PG by mixing VG with it... if that makes sense? PG has a shelf life at room temp of 10-15 years... in the freezer it will keep nearly forever. VG has a shelf life of 5-7 years at room temp... 10-30 years in the freezer... Nicotine has the lowest shelf life... 2-5 years if mixed with VG, and 4-7 years if mixed with PG (at room temp, with no air in the bottle)... Oxygen degrades it rapidly, but sealed in glass bottles as I mentioned above, placed in the freezer, and you'll get a decade (minimum) out of storage. Flavorings typically last anywhere from 2-10 years without freezing... but it depends on the flavor and if it is mixed with PG base, natural flavor, artificial flavor, alcohol content, etc.
  25. The best places to keep your PG, VG, Nicotine base, and flavorings is in the freezer, or at the very least, in the fridge. It is best to keep bottles as full as possible to prevent Oxygen degradation from occurring. Plastic bottles are okay, but I would invest in a few dozen amber or blue Boston Round bottles of varying sizes... 8oz down to 1oz, with cone-caps... as well as 1/2oz, 1oz, 2oz, and 4oz amber or blue Boston round bottles with dropper-caps for holding your mixed flavors. Plastic are fine, but glass is reusable . I would avoid Mason jars or anything large/fragile. Those Boston Round bottles are pretty tough and really hard to break! Here is what I do... I buy my Nicotine base in liter containers (when I can), and I transfer that directly into 2oz or 4oz amber glass Boston Round bottles (with cone-caps, not dropper caps). I fill them near to the brim, so the cone-cap can seal them tight without any excess air. Be careful when you do this, and use surgical gloves and work on a surface that can be cleaned easily just in case you spill anything. I do the same thing with my PG/VG, but I put those into 8oz bottles... because I use more of those, and Oxygen doesn't affect them nearly as much, so the bottles I'm currently working from stay on my shelf at room temp... nothing worse than trying to syringe-up frozen VG... it's like molasses in January, lol. Flavorings are also moved to glass Boston Round bottles, if they aren't already bought that way. I don't worry about moving those to smaller bottles... I just work from the 4oz bottles I buy them in, and they also stay in the freezer (for the ones I use less frequently), or the fridge (for my go-to flavors). As long as they are kept out of sunlight, and in a cool place, they will be fine for a couple of years, though. My go-to flavors typically get used in a few months, so I've never really worried about them going bad before I use them, and sometimes just leave those bottles on the shelf in my office... which is also where I do most of my mixing... because I have the space there, and it's quiet, cool, good lighting, and nobody bothers me there. I also have a bathroom 5' away, so I can quickly wash/shower away any catastrophic spills... Another thing... buy some stick-on labels... like the Avery-style in 1"x2" or 2"x3" so you can label the bottles with what is in them, as well as a date it was bottled. A date may seem odd, but you'd be amazed how handy it is to know which bottle has been neglected, so you can keep your stock rotated and fresh! The Avery labels can also be fed through a printer, so you can make labels more legible, too. And, on glass, the labels can be easily removed during cleaning of the bottle for re-use.
