I've served jury duty a couple of times... years ago, they allowed the jurors to smoke in the jury-room, and they allowed drinks in the main courtrooms, too. But, today, they don't even allow a bottle of water in the court-room, and jurors aren't even allowed pen/paper unless you're on Grand Jury. When you go through your orientation with the court-officer, they will tell you the rules they have in place... and you can ask about your vaping gear at that time.

Looking for good quality cheap liquid
Earthling789 replied to Roxabox's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
I've had $5 juice that was outstanding flavor, and some that were garbage... same for some of the so-called designer vapes... I do have some favorites from Dekang (love their chocolate and peanut-butter), which are on the lower-end of the price scale... Same for Liqua juices. I've started dabbling with a few of the recommendations here on the forum and recently found Mad Alchemist's juices quite by accident... their Dragons' Breath and Blue Moon are exceptional cinnamon vapes, yet a bit pricey.... McQuinn's right... you just gotta try a few here and there and see what grabs your attention. -
Tonight, being Father's Day, dear-old-dad got to cook his own meal... something of a favorite of mine Fresh Perch filets, baked on the grill in foil, along with green/yellow/red peppers and sliced white onion, and a big pad of butter! All of that was poured onto a fresh bed of white-rice, seasoned with salt, pepper, cumin, and dash (or six) of hot-sauce. Serve hot in a big bowl, along with a chilled glass of my favorite Aussie Chardonnay!

I always had fear I would be wasting money on "clubs" like these... I guess I'm just picky on my flavors, and I'm afraid I'll get one bottle I like out of a few dozen... then again, I guess if the club asks what you like and bases your subscription on similar items, it could be a win?

Tastes Great in the Store - But not at Home
Earthling789 replied to CloudMaker's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
Nicotine levels, the fact those have been "sitting" for a long time (steeped flavor), and... sometimes... it's the clearomizer they are using, compared to yours. I can put the same flavor, from the same bottle into each of my different style tanks, and there will be subtle differences in the flavor and vapor from each one. But, I agree that sometimes a fresh bottle from the B&M needs to steep an extra few days (to a couple weeks) before it's "awesome" juice. -
Bump Everytime You Buy Something New
Earthling789 replied to blucavvy's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Glad to hear you like the AT mini... yeah, those dual-coils do pull some juice, but not nearly as much as you think (I'll post more on that tomorrow ) I thought about picking up an AT mini because I like my regular AT... but since I like a tight draw, I could not stomach the extra cost of the AT mini, when I get what I want from the PT3 mini... Today I stopped by the local B&M to snag some more 60/40 Sour Apple, but also could not resist a bottle of Mad Alchemist's Dragons Breath for $15.99! I'm not huge on cinnamon flavor vapes, but this stuff is FAR better than I ever expected it to be! -
Yep, my money was/is on the circuitry of the JoyeTech chargers. Once they detect feedback from the battery that the charge has reached the "blue" range, it assumes they are charged (detects full) and cuts off. BeBop's experience just seems to confirm that.
-
Wait... someone derailed a thread? NEVER!!! Bwaahahahahaha!
-
Interesting that the charging circuit does this... I'm wondering if a different charger would do the same (one without the circuit to read 'stages' from the battery, just reads charge-level)? I'm also wondering if the Vision charger has this same problem, or just the Joyetech? I've got a few eGo-T batteries and my 950's do that from time to time... they go green, indicating full charge, but there is no way they are charged in 2-3 hours. I unscrew them and pop them back on... red light again, and another 3-4 hours until I see green. But, I will say, that pair of batteries are knock-offs, too... so that may be the issue, because that same charger does not give me any problems charging the 1100's.

Kanger Protank Best Performance
Earthling789 replied to jgpippin's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Thanks Tam... I wasn't sure if that was VV device or not :P For 3.7V @ 1.5 Ohms, that battery/coil combo is pushing a bit over 9.1W of power... and for 20/80 juice, that may be too much, thus why he's getting a burnt taste, especially on the second hit (slower wicking, high wattage). Yep, I agree... for that Voltage, a 1.8 Ohm coil will deliver better performance, and even a 2.2 wouldn't be "bad"... just be on the low-end of the performance specs. -
Kanger Protank Best Performance
Earthling789 replied to jgpippin's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I use PT2's quite often, and have run 1.5, 1.8, and 2.2 Ohm coils. I find my sweet-spot on the Wattage to be 8-9W, which means my Voltage is auto-set by my MVP. If your MOD is only Voltage-settable, then you'll need to adjust your voltage to 3.5V for a 1.5 coil and 4.2V for a 2.2 coil.... those are rough averages, give or take for 8W... your choices may be higher or lower. A burnt taste typically means your MOD is set too high in Voltage or Wattage (since you've already ruled out the coil)... have you tried turning it down a notch or two? Also, using 20/80 pg/vg juice, vapor production should not be an issue, regardless of settings (unless WAY low), but 80% vg will gum-up a coil much faster than lower vg ratios. I tend to like 70/30 to 50/50 pg/vg ratio juices.... good flavor, not a heavy throat-hit, and decent vapor that doesn't fog-up a room (I'm not a cloud-chaser). -
I've not tried the Nautilus (yet), nor any Aspire tanks, but friends have them and love them. I've not had any real issues with my Kanger tanks. I use the AeroTank, ProTank 2 (with aerobase), and ProTank 3 minis primarily. I also have EVOD tanks, but don't use them as often as I did, once I started using the KPT3 minis. All are good tanks, and I only have to keep up with two coil types, which is a bonus!

Yes, newly enacted rules for new members... they can't post anywhere but the new-members section until they reach a specified number of posts (5 I think Chris said)... This is to reduce the volume of spam across the forum's main body.

I agree with this... get a GOOD charger for your eGo styles. I was using a cheap-o, and it took forever to charge batteries, and sometimes it was showing "charged", but they were nowhere near close. Joyetech is a few bucks, but they are worth the extra cash. If you're referring to the no-name 18650 battery chargers people are "giving away" for $20 extra when you buy a replaceable-battery MOD... ignore those (normally), and buy a good charger (I love my NiteCore charger), and QUALITY batteries... which are of the recommended mAh, button-top/flat-top, protected/unprotected, high-drain, etc. etc. for your MOD. Another thing to think about is not mixing and matching... if you only use Sony in your VAMO, and Panasonic in your VTR, then keep it that way... It could just be my OCD, but I know my flashlights seem to have issues if I grab the wrong brand battery for them... and when I finally break-down and buy a VTR, I'll not be using any batteries designated for my flashlights in my VTR... it will have it's own batteries!

Fine grain sand paper....to clean pins
Earthling789 replied to DDK's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Emory cloth, green-Scotch-brite pad, or wire-wheel on a dremel if REALLY bad with corrosion, but like Comp said, a pencil eraser or q-tip with alcohol on it will do wonders for cleaning the pins, or at least keeping them clean. -
I've noticed the same thing in my larger tanks, especially when I vape them halfway and re-fill several times. Like Tam said, the liquid gets noticeably darker and you get that "spicy" flavor to it. At first it's a pretty good taste, but after a few more re-fills, it requires dumping and cleaning. I don't clean the coil, just the tank, and the taste is gone. I'm sure the constant heating IS changing the flavors. Now, when I vape a tank down to as low as possible, then re-fill... I don't get that issue/taste.

Yep, there's still a few around. I'd say I know of at least 5-6 in KY. Kinda like the old Jerry's restaurants... I think there are a dozen or so left operational from OH to FL. Man, they had the absolute BEST coffee!

Well, I didn't snap a picture of this one, but tonight I made a bed of white rice with Cajun seasoning, covered that with blackened whole kernel corn, and laid the main-course of baked chicken thighs/legs (which were marinated and cooked in Italian Dressing) on top. The seasoned rice and blackened corn are fantastic with baked chicken... I think my kids could eat it every day!

Joytech Delta atomizer
Earthling789 replied to DragonGunner's topic in Share the Latest Vaping Products
Looks nice, except the drip-tip... that's kinda hideous on such a sleek looking tank. I'm also worried about the performance of the triple-coil design (vertical)... this thing must be a juice-hog, or at least you have to keep it half-full for best results? Lastly, the "view-ports" for e-juice level... I will assume they are plastic [fail] since they do not SAY they are glass... -
is there expiration date for juices?
Earthling789 replied to azizcansaythis's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
Yes, everything has an expiration date... even the bar of soap you used this morning, and things you'd not believe, like the remote control for your TV. Typically, all the juices I've bought have an expiry of about 12-months from manufacture. Now, pg, vg, and flavorings actually last much longer than that, but if I had to guess, I'd say 1-year is more of a "best if used by" indicator for flavor consistency or to prevent separation/settling by gravity. As long as you keep the juices in a cool area, away from sunlight, lids on the bottles, shake them occasionally, etc... they will likely be "safe" to use beyond the 1-yr mark, again, because the pg/vg/flavors are good for much longer in their individual states - PG = 2-yrs, VG = 5-yrs, and flavorings vary from 2-yrs to decades. -
Aspire Nautilus real and fake tanks
Earthling789 replied to crush02342002's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Just watched the video... Kudos! Your first YT video was better than many people's 500th video, lol. I like my draw tighter, which is why I like my EVOD and KPT3 minis so well on my eGo batteries, and you hit the main point I was after... that the Air Flow Control Valve on the AT mini just wasn't worth the expenditure since it leans towards "open/airy" draws on all but the lowest settings. I think if Kanger (and retailers) would drop this tank down to $13.99 like I've paid for my two regular AT's, they'd sell a lot more of them, especially to those people who want a more airy-draw.... Thanks again for the video review... it was really informative, especially with your comparisons made to other tanks. It really helps to understand differences when you relate one to another like that! OH, and NOT hitting the tank and blowing room-filling clouds was a plus! That is the one thing that drives me nuts on YT videos... I equate those that attempt to fill the room to n00bs on sport-bikes popping wheelies and stoppies on the freeway to show off... it gives real riders (vapers in this case) a bad image to the general public! -
Yes, those are the updated version of the dual-coils.. they will fit the EVOD2, KPT3, KPT3 mini, AeroTank, AT mini, AT mega, and T3'Ds

Has this ever happened to you
Earthling789 replied to Spyke_696's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Interesting subject... my brother-in-law is a cop, and he was noticing my eGo with KPT3 mini over Mother's day weekend, and casually mentioned that it was "good that I didn't have one of those round, globe-tanks"... [then he chuckled] Apparently they are told / encouraged to be on the lookout for the round, globe-style, dry-herb vaporizers while on patrol... and they are also given a pretty good education on types of equipment, too... He doesn't smoke, nor vape, but he was able to identify correctly that my tank was a "mini", and my battery was an eGo-style. Kudos to his department for educating their officers!
