I ran this same question a while back... with 32 people responding, juice per week ranged from a low of 10ml to a high of 140ml, and the average for those responding was 40ml per week... Personally, I run in the 18-25ml per week range, depending on which tanks I'm using

Oh, it will crack a plastic tank, eventually... while the Atomic Fireball is a lighter cinnamon, it is still cinnamon!

White House Weakened Tobacco Regulations Of FDA's Draft Proposal
Earthling789 replied to Jeffb's topic in General Vape News
Well, some of this is good news, but I'd love to know exactly what language was used, regarding how they "weakened" concerning e-cigarettes... And does it bother anyone else when they read this? "but must issue new rules before regulating e-cigarettes, cigars, hookahs, water pipes and other tobacco products." I'm sorry, but none of those are inherently "tobacco products"... they are not derived from a tobacco plant, nor are any of them exclusively used to consume tobacco. And, if the FDA makes any move to designate all nicotine as a "tobacco product", I will be first in line at the FDA demanding that all fruits and vegetables (mainly potatoes, tomatoes, broccoli, and eggplants) be banned across the US and placed under strict FDA regulation, subject to 400% taxes just like tobacco and tobacco-products... because THEY CONTAIN NICOTINE NATURALLY, albeit in smaller quantities! Could you imagine the outrage across this country if you had to pay $14 for a large order of McDonald's fries, or an extra $6 for a slice of tomato on your burger?? -
I don't label my tanks or do anything special... I can usually go by the color of the liquid to tell what's in there, usually.... My main storage rack only holds 18mg juices, and my 12mg or 24mg juices have their own, smaller racks so I can keep them all separate. Now, I do keep my peanut-butter-caramel cup and cinnamon-raspberry flavors only in a PT3 mini with smoke glass... it seems that too much light makes the chocolate taste funny (which could just be in my head?), and the cinnamon flavors just seem to make sense in a colored tank (probably need to buy red ones next time)... I also tend to keep my lesser-used flavors in PT3 mini's (or EVODs) too. My daily vapes are reserved for my PT2's and AeroTanks, so I don't have to refill as often [Wow, I just realized... I put way too much thought into my tank organization, didn't I?]

Do I need to change my nicotine level?
Earthling789 replied to jasonculp's topic in General Vaping Discussion
That last one before bed is hard to kick... perhaps it's not the nicotine, but the routine? You might try some 0mg or 6mg to keep in a separate tank for use before bed, that is, if you can't put it down early... you'll get the satisfaction of that last "drag" before bed, without the nicotine to go with it (or at least very little). I never smoked in bed, or even the bedroom... but I will admit that I still keep an eGo holder next to my alarm-clock! During my first 2-3 weeks of vaping, I would take an eGo with me to bed and drop it in the holder for "just in case" emergencies in the middle of the night, when I had that craving for a smoke! I only used it once or twice, but it was like a teddy-bear or security-blanket -
Do I need to change my nicotine level?
Earthling789 replied to jasonculp's topic in General Vaping Discussion
During my first couple of weeks vaping, my morning level was 24mg to get me kick-started, and then I'd change to 18mg during work. In the evenings I'd drop to 12mg if I felt like chain-vaping, and like BirdDog said... put it down a half hour or so before bedtime, and most definitely drink LOTS of water all day, and a big glass before bed! There's nothing wrong with vaping different nic levels during different times of the day, during stress levels, etc., but one thing you mentioned is the buzz that creeps in during evening chain-vaping... so during that time you really want to use a lower nic level... I'm sure that, along with detox are contributing to your sleep issues. -
Vapor Talk Sports Team Allegiances
Earthling789 replied to The Vaping Viking's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
I'm not much of a sports fan... I love to play softball, baseball, soccer... even coached soccer for a few years at our middle-school and high-school, and still maintain my referee license (held since '94). I love to watch sports that are played for the FUN of it, not the pay or TV ratings, which is why I don't follow professional or college teams... multi-million-dollar pro-prima-donnas and colleges don't need my $$ I use to be a Red's fan, many years ago... before first player's strike...., back when you could pay to park, get a decent seat, a couple of hot-dogs and a drink and still have change left out of a $20 bill by the end of the game! The last time I took the family to a Red's game, we were out $350, the seats were crap, hot-dogs were cold (and tiny), cola's were all watered-down, mostly ice, and all I could smell the whole drive home was stale beer... and I don't drink beer! I hate to say it, because I know it is a soft spot and passion for many other people... but if all pro sports disappeared tomorrow, I'd likely not notice -
I did a lot of random mixing at first too, but quickly learned to use a spare 10ml bottle and a syringe to add 1ml here, 2ml there, etc. to blend up something that "sounded" good... and I started writing down the mixes/combinations along with notes to tell me how it tasted. Those that I like, I'll blend up larger bottles... it really helped me to find my favorites and find what works and what doesn't...

When I got the cravings "bad" during the first few weeks, I'd just grab my 24mg juice and vape hard on it until the craving went away! I also refused to buy any more analogs, and when I was around smokers, I'd use my 24mg juice and remind myself of how bad the analogs smelled!

One more morsel of food for thought is the volume you use to smoke daily... even if you were smoking lights, but were a 2+ pack-a-day smoker, 24mg would be my recommendation as a starting point... but then again, it's all relative to your nicotine needs. 18mg may do the trick, but if you're still craving, and feel the juice just isn't doing it for you, chances are that you're nicotine levels are too low. I've been off analogs for over 3 months, and I have juices in 24, 18, 12, and points in between... some just taste better with lower nic levels, and when I'm chain vaping in the evenings... 12 is just fine for me because I'm getting nicotine in volume! -

If 24mg satisfies you, stick with it for a while... it will really help you get over the cravings, moreso than switching back and forth from 18 to 24mg. Once you feel you are ready to step down... mix a bottle of 24 and a bottle of 18 in 1:1 ratio, that will put you at 21mg, and is less of a shock to your system than a 6mg drop at once. Keep mixing them like that for a while, then you can transition down to 18mg without the shock to your system. If you think of it like this... each 6mg of nicotine is a half-pack of smokes... it's easier to not have 5 than it is to not have 10 -

The key to getting off the analogs is getting enough nicotine from vaping... If you're finding it hard to let go of that last half-pack a day, then bump up your nicotine to the next level. Nicotine is not the bad part, it's the addictive part... your body is craving the nicotine as much as the action of hand-to-mouth. -
Now, Tam... I wouldn't dare point any fingers ^^^

Just like Tam said, many of us maintain different "favorite" flavors in different tanks, so when we're ready for a switch, it's quick, clean, and simple. I started out on disposable Ce4 tanks and went through a bunch of them when trying out new flavors. Once I had finally figured out what I liked, I started buying Pyrex tanks with replaceable coils, which is a MUCH more economical choice in the long run. I kinda went nuts on tanks at first, but now that I've expanded my pallet (gotten my taste-buds back), I've got two main favorite flavors, and another half-dozen or so "occasional" favorites to just keep things interesting... so investing in a few extra tanks paid off! One thing I'll warn you about... it's easy to get carried away with gear But, many people are quite happy with a couple of batteries and couple of tanks... others would need a small pick-up truck to move all their gear.... So, find what makes you happy, ask questions, and feel empowered to enjoy your new-found health!

Congrats on quitting, and keep up the good work! Yes, it is a hobby, as much as an alternative to smoking / cessation device. But it's a GOOD HOBBY!! -
Yes, that counts... as long as you're leaving more than half of what you own at the house, you're golden!

Tam, I think your post should start out with "You know you have a problem, when..." LMAO

I don't keep a back-up kit, but I keep spares handy. At home, it's not an issue with an MVP, several eGo's, and more tanks than I can carry in both hands When I'm out and about, I carry two of everything (eGo's and tanks), a charger, and spare juice, because you never know what emergency will keep you away from home longer than expected.

Hey, I looked at an M5 yesterday at the sidewalk sale... though the one that caught my eye was the brushed Aluminum with Copper rings and rods. IIRC, it was $40? It looked cool, and I might buy one to stick on the shelf someday, but I really prefer something with VV/VW capabilities, along with a bit of protection in the circuit. I'm not about to blow my hand off with an over-grown flashlight case because I unknowingly did something stupid... then again, I know enough about electronics to not be that stupid (I hope, anyways)... proper batteries, proper fuse, and I don't cloud-chase, so no worries about sub-ohming

Thoughts on vaping around children?
Earthling789 replied to LOSTSOUL VAPORZ's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Oh, I'm sure there will be someone to pitch a fit, but then again, there are those that raise the roof if you're drinking out of the wrong color water-bottle, or sleeping with your head on the wrong end of a "square" tent Not everyone can be pleased.... but, at least vaping is perfectly fine on Scouting events (at least for now). The only thing our Commissioner suggested is that we continue to be courteous of others, and refrain from "cloud-chasing". -

Earthling789 replied to LOSTSOUL VAPORZ's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I just found that out at the pre-camp meeting last week Summer camp is coming up in less than two weeks, and the District Commissioner saw me vaping outside the office, waiting for the meeting to start, so he brought it up during the meeting. Smoking is not allowed at any District, National, or Regional function per BSA policy, and we don't allow it at our Troop-level camp-outs/hikes/outings either... which is hard since two of the Assistant Scoutmasters are chain-smokers, lol... but I'm working hard on them to get them to convert! Maybe once they see me enjoying my gear at summer camp, they'll be a bit more open to giving it a try? -

Thoughts on vaping around children?
Earthling789 replied to LOSTSOUL VAPORZ's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I'm of a different mind-set, I guess. Children are more curious about things that are "hidden" from them, so the more you hide, the more curious they become. My children were brought up around all kinds of dangers, yet they were never hidden from them (farm implements, machinery, tractors, motorcycles, knives, guns, bow/arrow, smoking, etc.), they know and understand the dangers around them. Which is one of the reasons I finally stopped smoking... for my kids (as much as me)... they understood the danger and how bad it is for you, and I realized what a horrible example I had become for them by telling them, "do as I say, not as I do". But back to hiding things from kids... I find that kids are more likely to "play with matches" if they have no idea what they are for, and if they are hidden away in the back of a cabinet. Sure, kids should be protected from dangers, but I don't believe in feeding their curiosity by hiding anything from them.... but that's just me -
I've seen VTR's for around $60-ish, and a decent charger with 4 batteries would be in the $40-50 range, which is why I've not pulled the trigger on one yet... I'm still holding out for a different color-scheme... black, titanium blue, something with brass/gold/copper... anything better than the fingerprint magnet or green ones they have now! And, the MVP does allow pass-through. It's not a true pass-through, but it does charge during use if necessary... I've done it before, but it's awkward because you want to stand it up on the bottom, and the dang cord won't let you
