I didn't think I'd like a box-style either, but once I got my MVP (little smaller than VTR), I immediately loved it... It fits well in your hand, and stands upright on the desk without needing a stand, or fear of falling over if you bump the desk. It also has the ability to charge your phone or MP3 player from the battery pack in an emergency, which works VERY well! I like it so well, the VTR will be my next battery/MOD purchase For a round, tube-unit, have you looked at the Provari or Tesla VV/VW models?

I've got a Cuban cigar flavor that I mix with a little Vanilla, Black Cherry, and a couple drops of Dragon's Breath (cinnamon), and it seems to go very well with Scotch, Bourbon, or other whiskey... and isn't horribly bad with other hard-liquors like Vodka and Tequila. I'm not a beer drinker, so I couldn't say how it would taste with a brew

Welcome to the forum! Genuine batteries should hold out MUCH longer than 2-3 months... Is it possible that you may have clones? Regardless, the Vision Spinners and Spinner2's get good reviews from users on here. As well as the JoyeTech eGo-C twists, and Kanger EVOD Twists. I've been using Genuine and Clone eGo-T's for 4 months now, and they are still going strong, but they don't see heavy, daily use since I bought my Innokin MVP I've got no ideas on the Tesla VV/VW, but have read good reviews on them as well.

I did that with my two black EVOD tanks... I wasn't using them, so I gifted them to my brother-in-law to get him started (along with batteries and other stuff I had laying around, collecting dust)... A week later, I won Brian's Pay it Forward and he sent me juice and a five-pack of SS EVODS I've managed to give away 3 of them, so I'm back to two... funny how that worked out... I guess I'm destined to have two EVODS? At least the SS ones match my Stainless eGo batteries better than the black ones did, lol -

I like the MVP 2.0, a lot... and agree 100% on that suggestion. But, I also must chime in that I've no issues with my Kanger tanks. I recently had the chance to try a Nautilus, and didn't find it to be that much better than my AeroTank, especially considering the cost difference of the tank and the coils... but that's my personal view For the money, I'd prefer an AeroTank or KPT2 over the KPT3. The KPT3 uses the same coils as the AeroTank, but the AT has an adjustable air-flow-control base, which gives you more control over the flow. I like the AeroTank and the ProTank2, as well as their minis. The AeroTank has a good hit and uses a dual-coil, and the PT2 (if you add an AeroBase) is just as good, but uses the slightly cheaper single coils. If you shop around, you can pick up 2 or 3 KPT2's (or two AeroTanks) for the price of one Nautilus. Also, the coils are ~1/3 the price of Aspire's, and last a couple weeks or longer, unless you're vaping high VG% juices. -
Well gang, Today marks 100 days since my last analog, and I won't say it was easy, but it has been easier than I expected ... with the help of everyone here! Yesterday, I hiked several miles over rough, mountainous terrain with my sons... something that I could not easily do a few months ago... and I felt great during the entire hike, as well as AFTER!! While I may not feel 20 again, I sure feel 20 years younger Looking forward to another 100 days... and another... and another...

Welcome to VT! And, congrats on your purchase... I think you'll really enjoy the Provari and the Nautilus tank! At $85/week, you'll save some serious cash over smoking analogs, and I'm sure you'll be using some of that spare cash to buy even more tanks and batteries, lol. I do suggest you pick up "back-ups" such as a VV battery like a Spinner or Twist... and feel free to explore other tanks... Kanger makes some good ones (AeroTank, ProTank2, and their minis), and their coils are a bit cheaper than Aspire's

I had two KPT2 minis (traded them off) and currently have five KPT3 minis... other than an occasional drop that hits the battery contact (and I do mean occasional), I've not had any issues at all with flooding or leaking... unless you count the one with a bad o-ring seal at the top of the glass, lol. I do get a tiny gurgle from time to time on high PG juices, but since I tend to run 70% as my highest PG in those tanks, the gurgle is virtually stopped. I'm using only 1.5 Ohm coils in the minis, and love the flavor and vapor production from them... Yes, the draw is tighter, and I wouldn't mind opening them just a tad, but a drill will do the trick if really felt so inclined, I wouldn't mind trying an AT mini, or even the new ATv2... but mostly because of the SS tanks!

It really depends on what you want out of it, and what your pocket will allow. If you want a good VV/VW MOD, you can pick up an Innokin MVP 2.0 for ~$40 or a VTR for ~$70. If you're looking at mechanical mods, I know I've seen many for $30, upwards to several hundred! Personally, I don't own a mechanical MOD, but I've been looking at the Tesla mechanicals and the local B&M has them for $35 and up, depending on if you just buy the MOD or add in a full kit with batteries, charger, tanks, or a rebuildable. Also, a lot of people on here really have great things to say about the Magneto, and some of the clones from reputable manufacturers like HCigar.

I have juices all over the spectrum, and my 80/20 juices are about has high as I can go, due to harsh throat hit. I still get plenty of flavor out of my 70/30, 65/35, 60/40, 55/45, and 50/50 juices... and it seems my favorite flavor juices are 70/30 and 55/45, but that might have more to do with the fact I like the flavor, and less to do with the PG/VG ratio? I have a few higher VG content juices, and they don't lack flavor, but I'm very aware of the glycerine after-taste once VG content goes above 70%, and I'm not a fan of that.

It's not uncommon for us to run through 20 ml a week, and some of the gang on here will rip through 40+ in a week. Now, comparing how fast a juice empties on a tank, given the same number of hits/puffs.... a lot has to do with the water content in the juice. Now, I've noticed that my higher VG content juices vape a tad bit slower than my higher PG content juices... could be because they are thicker? Might be because they produce more vapor, so I don't drag on them as long? But, my 80/20 and 70/30 juices give me over 150 hits in my AeroTanks, and over 180 hits on my KPT2s... my 50/50 juices... I get a few more hits, maybe 5-10%, but not a lot of difference to really notice? I did try some cheaper juices with a lot of water content, and they did vape fast.... or at least they seemed to (3+ refills a day on a KPT3mini)

Yep, those are the "updated" coils... just a shield over the coil/wicks and a different silicone seal design for the tube.

Welcome to VT! I smoked cigars for 30 years, and started vaping on April first of this year... not had a stogie since! If you're looking to mimic the cigar experience, you don't have to spend a fortune, or go with any "high-end" equipment. A good tank, lower Ohm coil, quality juice in the right flavors and a variable-voltage or variable-wattage battery will do you just fine! There are plenty of good juices out there that will mimic the flavors you love. A dual-coil tank will provide (generally) more vapor than a single-coil, but your PG/VG ratio will also set the tone for vapor, too. The higher the VG number, the more vapor... higher the PG number, the more 'throat-hit'. I would suggest you start with a quality battery, like the Vision Spinner, or similar VV battery, or even starting out with a VV/VW battery like the Innokin iTaste MVP 2.0 is not bad for a beginner. Tanks from Kanger, Aspire, AnyVape, SmokTech will all do well for a beginner. Once you get your feet wet, so to speak, you may wish to explore mechanical MODs, rebuildables, higher-end APVs, etc... but I'd never recommend a beginner start out with advanced equipment... just my $0.02

You know... some people have allergic reactions to PG... you may want to try 100% VG juices and see if that makes a difference? I'll forewarn you though... 100% VG juices will gum up your coils faster, but produce great vapor... some also say they have a strong glycerine after-taste... but it may be worth a shot for you to try 0/100 up to a 20/80 ratio, just in case the issues you're experiencing are PG related. -
IYO, best Tabac flavored juice?
Earthling789 replied to VapeHappy's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
I was a cigar smoker for 30 years... and it is darn hard to find the right flavor, I know. It's really hard to find anyone that can duplicate the Maduro wrapper and strong Cuban-seed flavors. Most of what I've tried in the past few months has been too nutty (hazelnut) or like you said, too heavy with saccharin aftertaste for my needs. I found that Liqua's Cuban Cigar is a really good flavor, although I do mix a hint of Vanilla and/or Black Cherry with it to soften and sweeten it a bit when I get tired of the straight flavor. When I mix, I mix them 4:1 or 4:1:1 if I add in Black Cherry. Also, adding a couple drops of Atomic Fireball flavor to a tank-full really adds a nice kick to it too Liqua's PG/VG ratio is 80/20, so it has a nice throat hit, but if you want to soften it a bit, mix in your Vanilla with a lesser PG ratio... I tend to use 50/50, so the throat hit is less, and the Vanilla has a better overall flavor at that ratio. -
It depends on your battery, really... If you are using a 3.7V battery, non variable voltage or variable wattage, then Ohm's Law determines the Wattage and Amps used. A lower resistance coil gives you higher Wattage, which tends to give more vapor, compared to a higher resistance coil. Lower the resistance, the higher the Wattage, given the same Voltage applied.... although most batteries can't handle resistance below 1.2 Ohms without damage. When using a variable voltage battery like a Spinner or Twist... or a VV/VW MOD like the MVP 2.0, higher resistance coils make little difference, except they wear down the battery slightly faster, because they require more Amperage to produce higher Wattage. Most of us use 1.5-1.8 Ohm coils with our eGo-style batteries... some may choose higher... it's a personal preference That's it in a nutshell

Actually, PG is a humectant, not a dessicant... behavior of a humescent substance is to bond with water from the surrounding area (your mouth/body/lungs), and rob you of that moisture... which is why you get cotton-mouth or dry-throat when vaping. PG when absorbed by the body is readily transformed into pyruvic acid, acetic acid, and lactic acid... all normal acids produced or metabolized in the body.... -

Based on the study I read from the University of Kentucky and World Health Organization, I find it hard to believe that Carlton's are actually 0.10 mg/cig, considering even the ultra-lights tested in the study were of the lowest nicotine range... at 0.50 mg/cig (BTW, Marlboro Reds were only 0.95mg/cig). So, based on your 10-cig morning routine, you're probably getting 5mg of nicotine just from that session (along with tons of tar, CO, etc from the smoke)... so a 6mg juice would be right in line, IMO, but going even higher has helped many of us stave off cravings, especially in the mornings or after meals. Now, I know you're trying to match up the nicotine levels in your e-juice to be an equivalent... but one thing we can all agree on, is that unless you are buying medical-grade nicotine, which has been tested to confirm accuracy to 0.001mg, there is no way to guarantee the 6mg or 12mg levels indicated on the bottles are actually what they say. Batches are tested by "some" manufacturers, but not every batch/bottle... and there will be variance. As for your nicotine headaches... one thing that is normal when you switch to vaping is a head-rush or headache, but they normally pass quickly. The PG (and to a minor extent VG) works as a humescent... and will dry you out. The headache you are getting could be a result of dehydration? Coffee does not hydrate you as well as a glass of water. I know if I don't drink enough water all day, I WILL get a headache at some point, due to dehydration, compounded by vaping! -
Morning coffee smokes and after-meal smokes... the hardest to break the habit for! For the first couple of weeks after I started vaping, I had massive cravings for a real smoke first thing in the morning and after dinner... I just forced myself to hit the e-cig instead of the real thing... but then again, I didn't have any analogs in the house. After I smoked my last one, I picked up the vaping gear and refused to buy another pack of analogs, so I'm sure that helped me through the rough times, because I didn't have an analog to turn to You'll get there eventually, but don't beat yourself up when you slip back to the analogs... look on the bright side of things... you're not chain-smoking two packs a day anymore, so the vaping routine is already "working" to reduce your dependance on analogs!

About a month ago, I was talking to my sister-in-law, and she asked about my vaping gear... she indicated she had spent upwards of $150-200 buying BLU and something similar for her husband, but he barely gave it a try... and she wanted to know how, what I was using, worked for me. I gave her the run-down on equipment, juices, nicotine levels, and how you just have to make the effort... So, a couple of weeks ago, I gave my brother-in-law two 950mAh eGo-T batteries, a couple of Ce4's (trying to get rid of my stockpile), a couple of EVOD tanks (which I was not using), and several of the juices I had won from Brian's 'Pay it forward' and the VT Store contests. I didn't expect him to convert to vaping, since he was a die-hard smoker for 40 years, and had a poor experience with BLU cig-a-likes... but... To my surprise, on Wednesday of last week, he returned the batteries... but not the tanks! He has fully embraced vaping, and bought an MVP and a Vision Spinner... and a few more tanks (KPT2's)... so he was returning the eGo batteries and charger, so I could give them to someone else that may want to try vaping! Score one conversion! I had been talking with a co-worker about my success on quitting smoking... and she indicated that she'd love to get her husband to quit. I suggested vaping, and she said she'd mention it to him... this was a couple months ago... On Thursday, she came up to me and said he had agreed to give vaping a try (since it worked for me), and she was asking me about equipment and juices and how to get the best bang for her buck so he'd have the best experience possible... Well, I just so happened to have two eGo batteries, charger, several Ce4 and EVOD tanks, and juice sitting on my desk at home She came by the house on Thursday evening, and I gave her a similar set-up I gave to my brother-in-law a few weeks ago, (thanks to Brian's pay it forward gifts of juices and EVODs last week). This morning, she told me that vaping is working for him! He ran out of smokes on Thursday night, so he gave vaping a try instead of buying another pack... and he's not had a cigarette since he picked up the eGo... he's on day 4, and she said he's been working through the cravings by hitting the vaping gear, and she said a combo of tobacco flavor and his favorite candy (butterscotch and caramel) flavors seem to be doing the trick! Score another conversion!

One of my KPT2's needed a coil change this morning, so, I just cracked open a five-pack box of Kanger BCC coils in 1.5 Ohm... and as usual, I check the resistance with my coil-meter before installing to ensure it is a "good" coil... Ummm... wait... the box says 1.5 Ohm... [checks the coil stamp again]... Yep, coil stamped 1.5 Ohm... Okay... check another coil... then another.... then another... WOW! Not ONE of these coils is reading 1.5 Ohm, or even within +/- 0.2... Maybe my meter is fubar? Nope, my trusty FLUKE meter shows the same readings.... The closest was 1.8 (actually two of them), one was 1.9, one was 2.0, and the first one out of the package was 2.2 Ohms! And, YES, all of them are stamped 1.5... I know it's normal to have factory coils be off by a bit, but.... The last box of 1.5's I opened to replace the factory 2.2's in my newly acquired tanks were all ranging from 1.4 to 1.7... which in my book is close enough.... but to find a 2.2 labeled as 1.5 is a bit shocking... or is it? BTW, I opened another box of 1.5's and the first coil out of the box was ... 1.5 Ohm....YAY, they got one right! I'll still use the other, higher-resistance ones with tanks I'll use only with my MVP, because I use static-Wattage-settings on my MVP, so the coil's resistance is moot for performance of the coil... but the higher resistance coils DO run-down the battery faster. For my EVODs and KPT2's that I use with my non-VV eGo batteries, I try to only use 1.5-1.8 Ohm coils, so the Wattage is in my preferred sweet-spot for 3.7V.... thus another reason I check my coils out of the package....

Received my goodies from Brian today... 70ml of juice (which my brother-in-law has already raided, lol), five stainless EVOD tanks, and a mini-nova. The Nova is promised to a dear friend, and I'm going to keep a couple of the EVODS for myself, since I gave my last (black) pair to my brother-in-law as part of his starter-kit gift... It feels GOOD to pay this stuff forward!
