  1. My daughter just sent me this info in a text message... it is truly a sad, sad day in the world of comedy... I actually met the man once in the late 80's (when he was getting clean), and he was oddly personable, in a funny yet sarcastic way... kinda strange to describe him back then, but I'm proud to say I got the chance to shake the man's hand, listen to his stories, and spend a few hours fishing next to him on a sunny Saturday!
  2. Well, they are in CA, so perhaps they're playing golf, at a wine-tasting, or maybe their agent called for a casting :P Then again, I didn't have to press one for English, so I'm not really positive I called anywhere inside the US, hahahaha
  3. Wow... Yeah, I tried calling them this afternoon, but each time I call it goes to voice-mail, with no indication I'm even calling the right number... could be grandma's cell-phone for all I can tell. Still no response from my email, too. Guess I'll just wait and see?
  4. I ordered my MODs late on the 6th (Wednesday), and still haven't received a shipping email confirmation. How long did it take them to ship out your TOBH? Their site says "all orders ship within 24 hours"... so I'm beginning to wonder...
  5. I was a cigar smoker, so I know what you're talking about... I get decent vapor (decent enough to satisfy) from my EVOD/eGo battery and a Kanger ProTank3-mini tank (same operation as the EVOD2, but with SS and Pyrex tank). Changing to 60/40 and 50/50 juices REALLY increased the vapor production. I also recommend the Kanger ProTank2 (single coil, which are a bit cheaper) with added AeroBase... or an AeroTank (dual-coil)... both produce enough vapor to satisfy me. My AeroTank throws as much vapor as my buddy's Nautilus, but take that observation for what it's worth (could be juice or coil resistance differences)... lol Bebop is spot on... after those changes... you're moving on to Mechanical MODS and RDA/RBA (rebuildables), which take some knowledge, safety, tools/equipment, and the "toys" can get expensive
  6. I love it too... I've thought of a pipe MOD and a Hammer MOD just because they look so awesome!
  7. I got lucky and found my all-day flavor (and it's back-up) pretty quick... after about a month? I still try new things, but many of them end up as gifts to other people or saved for evenings or weekend pleasures... I'm always finding something I "like", but still hard to replace my all-day favorite
  8. Despite violating a dozen safety and EPA regulations... you should give it a Viking funeral at the lake,
  9. Cutting a juice works well if you don't mind muting the flavor a little. Another thing to do is see if your local shop(s) offers any free samples, deeply discounted items about to go out of date, etc. Sometimes they'll give away 1/2 bottles (remainders of what they fill the demo tanks with) or close-date items, if you ask... Also, Killer-Juice runs a weekend sale every Thurs-Sun... 99-cent, 15-ml bottles of decent vaping flavors (limit of 5 per order)... $5 will snag nearly a month's worth of juice (for roughly the cost of a day's smoking)!
  10. Thanks for all the great suggestions. Several of you have sent PMs with suggestions and personal experience, which have been very insightful! I've checked out the Magma (from Infinite), and the design is brilliant! I also love the adjustable airflow and copper or brass options for the ring. Either (or both) will compliment my new MODs So, right now, I'm leaning really hard towards the Magma for my first purchase... later on, I may snag an Enigma and/or Stillare for my second purchase. Several had said the Kraken has "issues" that make it less desirable than a Russian 91%... so maybe a Russian will be later down the line, too...
  11. Before I quit... $47 - 55 per week was the cost of my vice!
  12. Based on my local B&M prices... what you paid is within reason for retail. $20 for battery, $8-12 for the EVOD2, $12-14 for coils, and $7 minimum for a 10ml bottle of juice... $47-53 plus tax... Yes, online prices are better, but you have to wait for delivery (and pay for shipping, too). Welcome to the Forum!
  13. Okay, I promised myself I'd not start with an RDA or anything rebuildable until school started for my kids... and now it's time! I've been browsing the local shops and getting a "feel" for the different builds and quality, and here's what I've narrowed myself down to, and yes, most are HCigar, as that is what the local shops sell, and what everyone here has suggested to be the closest 1:1 clones... and no this list is not in any order of preference: Tobeco (copper) TOBH (none of the local shops have a copper HCigar) Lotus (adjustable airflow, but thin drip well and made very tall - mostly like it for the brass) HCigar Enigma (love the gold post, deep well, and feel of it) HCigar Patriot (kinda meh, and no adjustable airflow, but made solid) HCigar Stillare (looks good, adjustable airflow, and recommended by the shop) HCigar Trident (gold V2, looks small, but quite heavy and looks like it could take abuse) HCigar Brass Kraken (yeah, actually a Genesis tank, but still rebuildable and just looks friggin awesome) I've looked at KayFun, etc.... and of all of the Tank RDA's (RTAs), I'm drawn to the Russian 91%, but if I were going to really consider that style, I think I'd sill go with a Kraken (or both) My personal likes from the ones above are the Enigma, Stillare, Trident, and TOBH, in that order... but the Kraken also calls to me Nope, I've not bought any Kenthal yet, but I have a good coil meter (and a Fluke) and a toolbox full of appropriate tools, including small butane torch. I also have no issues with actual building, as I have electronics experience. I'm not looking to cloud-chase... just looking for something simple to tinker with, and something to give me the opportunity to sample new flavors without dirtying a tank/coil, as well as "enjoy" the fullest benefits of my "better" juices, when I take the time. Suggestions? Comments? Alternates I've not considered which are simple, yet solid?
  14. $200 buys a lot of stuff... I'd recommend focusing on having two to four quality batteries, and at least four quality tanks (and two boxes of coils). With that in your arsenal of hardware, you can focus on juices and isolate things you like right now. Your tastes will change after a few months of vaping because you'll get your ability to taste "back". AND, you'll have the opportunity to really evaluate your hardware to see if you need something different, or more of the same (later).
  15. Curbing your spending is a hard thing to do with any new hobby... sooooo many shiny things I know your pain... and applaud you for your tenacity to stay within budget! The good news is, once you get the basics and back-ups... weekly expenses for vaping is 1/4 to 1/5 what you would have spent on analogs (at least it is for me), so you'll be in better shape financially (and your health), and won't feel so bad when you drop a few bucks on something shiny and new... after-all, you deserve a treat, right?
  16. Wow, that's a lot of $ for the ruggedness of Stainless... only to be kneecapped by the limitations of cheap, colored plastic at the bottom.
  17. Actually, that sounds delicious! I've mixed Tart Apple with a little (2-4 drops per ml) Cinnamon... was quite good! Darn... I'm out of orange....
  18. Welcome to VT! While I'm no business-planner, I'll offer this advice... Variety and Quality! You can't keep a liquor store in business if you only sell Coors Light and Kessler Whiskey! One of my local shops has ONE brand of juice, and carries 95% knock-off/clone hardware... and they're about to close the doors (and I'm sure they wonder why).
  19. Received my juice winnings from Fadora today! The Snickerdoodle is the best cookie flavor I've ever tried, and the PBFB smells (mouth-watering) like they just came out of the oven, so I'm going to let that one cool on the shelf for a while before I cut a slice...er... fill a tank!
  20. Well, technically it does enhance your vape ... a battery IS required to make your MOD do more than look pretty! Sorry, couldn't resist, hahaha...
  21. Yep, sounds like the button is faulty. I'd take it back to where you bought it and get a replacement. Just running the led won't be much of a "load" so it could run for many days keeping the "light on for you"
  22. Welcome Katy! Pull up a chair and stay a while!
  23. WooHoo! Insanely fast shipping for my new NiteCore i4... Ordered it late on Wednesday, and it was just delivered! Now... where are my MODs??
