Oh yeah, I also noticed one of them would get hot at the bottom near the voltage dial when firing. I assume this was caused by the loose internals grounding to the case as it only does it once in a while.
-
First off when I received my first one, I had to send it back because the contact point was not functioning properly. (would only make connection some of the time). When I received my replacement I noticed that the internals of the device were very loose and would move around with even the slightest shake, I brushed this off as I am not rough with my devices. I bought two more of the batteries, one of which had the same loose internal problem. One of my batteries also sometimes doesn't like to charge correctly. From time to time I will put it on the charger (knowing that it is dead or close to it) and it will charge for about 5 minutes before going green. I then have to detach my battery and reattach to resume charging. I have used 4-5 different chargers and had the same problem. Overall I am satisfied with the performance of the battery, I just think the physical quality could be a bit better.

Yes sir! You're speakin' my language! -
Honestly I have not bought enough of them to tell you. I just know that the ones I buy have never had a problem like that, even after messing with them. Like the others said, I believe the only way liquid could be getting to your battery is through the wic/coil or a bad seal at your 510 connection. I have had my tank do the same thing before but that was due to accidentally removing too much of the wic, thus letting liquid drop down the center post.

And like I said. It is pretty decent by itself, but I mainly use it as a base for my own recipes Works very well for that. -

I already bought a Vamo V5, only because it was a good deal at the time. I do plan to purchase all the necessary equipment before attempting my own build though1

I have the protank mini 3 and have had absolutely no issues with it at all. I even removed a coil from one of my heads just to see what would happen and ended up using it for a week with no leaks or problems. I'm lead to believe that you are receiving counterfeit heads.

Has anyone ever heard of/tried Red Rock Vapor liquid?

Does this happen with anyone else?

I agree, but in some cases people need to be pushed to realize what they are missing. My girlfriend, for example, would use nothing but the crappy CE4 that came with her kit for the longest time. Finally I got her to take my protank for a day and she won't give it back. Some people are just too afraid of change to try anything different. -
Will do! I really only bought it because I got a hell of a deal on it. I wasn't even really ready to get into modding but it will be there when I get everything figured out! I really like my spinners but I feel the quality is sub-par. They seem to be very easily broken,

I have made my own several times and had pretty good luck with it. I like to use the harter house rub because it has most of the main ingredients I start with anyway, so it saves me some time. I have never tried Stubbs where can you get it aside from online? -
That's funny because I currently use the vision spinner as well, and also have a Vamo V5 otw. We're twinkies!

I am no professional nor have I won any competitions by any means. But I do love to smoke some good meat. I like to get the Harter House rub and I use it as a base and add my own ingredients. Sometimes I use it by itself. Either way, I think it's a really good base rub. -

You will never get the flavor out of a gas grill (smoking or not) that you will out of a traditional smoker. Hands down. But if you have to, that's the way to do it. I forgot to mention that you should wrap your brisket in foil, that's a good point. -

Yes. I personally use an electronic one. I am able to stick the probe into the grill and get a reading from outside. I would highly suggest one of those, but the type that sits inside works well too. I have just had very bad luck with the built in thermometers that grills normally come with. They never seem to be very accurate IMO. Which is why I suggest a better one. -

Yes of course! You just need one burner on medium-low. You want to keep your temp at about 250. I would suggest investing in a decent thermometer if you do not already have one.
