Attempting to rebuild Aspire Nautilus coils
charliestheman replied to Roxabox's topic in Coil Builds
Now that I have thoroughly derailed this thread, it looks much better in person than in the pics. I'm running it at 11.0 with 65/35 and 50/50 PG/VG Fadora Vapors juice -
I can't heat up my coils!
charliestheman replied to Tony8806's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
You were testing with both coils right? At the ohm resistance I calculated which is what I call elbow level, because in an accident that's about how much it will take off in a best case scenario, if you're test firing with one of the coils but not the other, the resistance would be too low for almost anything to fire especially those batteries. The lower the resistance the more current the coil draws at once when fired. Hence the "boom" we are worried about. Hold off until you see what it does on the ohm meter but remember when you build your coils that will matter. We threw a lot at you at once, mostly big red warnings but as long as you have the right safety/critical building materials and take your time, the job isn't too difficult at all. -
It's probably a combination of juice and equipment, either of which could improve the throat hit while leaving the other alone. Some people do get massive throat hits out of the equipment you're using but I would suggest moving up when possible to something like the MVP 2.0 maybe. I recommend it a lot but it's because I haven't found anything better as far as quality or performance in that $45 new delivered to the door price range area. Like Tam said juice can have a lot to do with it. While it makes a difference, I find with my vaping style I get the best throat hits from the Aspire dual coil atomizers, as far as clearomizers go, and some juice gives a better throat hit than others. One reason I like Fadora is because of the throat hit and vapor production, the taste is just a nice added feature really now that I think about it, and the 50/50 blend I like best. In this price range it's my favorite throat hittingest clearomizer http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=3259&category_id=90 Are you cleaning your Kanger coil heads? I'm wondering if they are getting clogged, or getting thrown away before they're broken in. I clean mine by soaking in 91% rubbing alcohol from walgreens then rinsing really well and letting them air dry. Does anyone know if the Aero-Base work on the MT3? Getting some more airflow does wonders for the protanks but I don't know if the MT3 works with the aero-base adjustable bottom kanger cap. My first instinct was to ask about nic content. What mg are you on, and have you tried different ones?

I can't heat up my coils!
charliestheman replied to Tony8806's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
First you need to troubleshoot the firing problem. We can't even speculate on wraps by not knowing what size your coil, wrap, and wire is (and material). If it's not firing at all or getting warm I doubt it needs less resistance if you're at 4 or 5 coils in a moderate size wrap. "I would guess" and electricity and explosives dont mix so I modified my first sentence. You need an ohm meter, or provide us what your .ohm load is if you already have a meter. Shoot for an ohm load around 1.5. What size are your wraps, and what guage kanthal are you using? Or are you using something besides Kanthal? If you aren't getting fire it means there's a short or something and just cutting down the resistance by removing a coil and not knowing the ohm load or if the battery is firing is REALLY dangerous so you need to troubleshoot carefully. What size drill bit are you wrapping around is what I meant by what size are the coils. It could be your wires where one wire on the coil is crossing another wire where they are connected at the post. Or it could be a center pin not making contact. Does the mech mod fire a clearomizer/cartomizer fine or are the two RDA's the only thing you've built so far? Do you have an ego type battery? Or something besides that mech mod. You need to check the coils on an ohm meter, and find out what is preventing them from firing. I did a quick google search on those batteries, some have internal short circuit protection by means of an internal PCB board according to the post I read on ECF. If that's the case, then the reason it's not firing is probably because you have a short circuit in your RDA, coil, or the mech mod itself, or your .ohms might be too low for the batteries if they have over current protection, I don't know that they do though. If that's the case and it's short circuit protection holding up the show, and you keep trying to fire it you just may find the one odd chance they have where the short circuit protection doesn't engage, and blow your arm off with mech-mod hand grenade shrapnel. PLEASE BE CAREFUL HERE. -
Anyone know any home remedies for pimples?

I don't have the self restraint to hold back, I'm a big time popper, quitting cigarettes has given me a few really good to skwoosh lol. I've always had really good luck with this stuff http://www.clinique.com/product/1572/4792/3_step/Step_1_Cleanse/Facial-Soap/Our-dermatologists-soap/index.tmpl , just have to be careful not to get too strong as the extra strength is too strong for my skin. I use like the 12 mg e-liquid equivalent, they have an 18 equivalent if that makes sense. 24 mg equivalent would probably be STP Injector Cleaner on a sponge. -
Attempting to rebuild Aspire Nautilus coils
charliestheman replied to Roxabox's topic in Coil Builds
It's a straight BEAST on the MVP 2.0. I ran that setup app day yesterday and it really impressed me. It really takes the MVP 2.0 up a notch, with the Nautilus it's much closer to the vape I get with my DNA 30 than it had been with my other tanks. It's definitely worth the $25 or whatever you pay for it. The coils should be around $9.99, I've seen people talk about how expensive they are and always felt like it wasn't that different from the protank, then I saw Mt Bakr Vapor has them priced at 17.99, so places charging that much might be what some people have seen. $9.99 to 10.99 is pretty standard retail for a box of 5 and the 5.99 to 7.99 price range is when they're on sale, speaking of Authentic only of course. I only buy authentic Aspire coils from US retailers. There's some articles by fasttech salesman that the clones have an improvement over the genuine ones, but even if they did, I'd still only buy authentic. So far I've been through 4 tanks on the first coil and it's still going strong. I got the protank 2 & 3 and aero base and the protank 2 with custom coils hits nicely, but no where near the vape I get from the Nautilus. I took off my kayfun lite to try the Aspire Nautilus and its been two full days and I haven't swapped back, and I LOVE the kayfun and didn't think I'd be able to back to a clearomizer, but this proved me wrong. Rip Trippers is spot on in this video, I watched it after vaping it, I don't like spoiling the surprise with reviews until I've made a decision myself. -
Kanger Aerotank - why are these selling?
charliestheman replied to JonHitThingWithRock's topic in General Vaping Discussion
The Aspire coils do handle thicker juice without me noticing that it's thick than the protank style coils, for me at least. -
E-Juice Usage per Week - What is Yours?
charliestheman replied to Earthling789's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
I do 2.5 to 4 ml a day, depends on if I get my nap I vape significantly less while sleeping than I do awake. I make CAD drawings for a living and when I get my hands free system at my desk I'll go through more liquid, since I wont have to stop typing commands to take a hit. -
Kanger Aerotank - why are these selling?
charliestheman replied to JonHitThingWithRock's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Chain vaping a pro tank stock coil does cause dry hits for some when using thicker juices but if you're not taking rip trippers caveman size lung hits back to back it should be decent. Especially with the air flow maxed out. It's not like the Nautilus Aspire which can out-vape me, but it's plenty good for a daily driver. It might be that your juice is on the thicker side, which will cause it to wick slower. I vape wattage but that voltage sounds ok. What resistance is your coil unit? Is your first hit really good and your second hit dry/burnt? What clearomizer/tank do you usally vape on? Is the sweet-vapes organic juice a high VG content? -
Skinnier Aspire Nautilus

Have you seen the billet box? I'm dying to get my hands on one for the collection, the MC gear reminded me of it when I read your post. It's designed and fabricated by a guy that needed a "Chopper with No Saddle Bags Vape" although he uses another term (might have to sell him my slogan though) OP Does the Anyvape Davide have a Mini version of the Nauti? I was thinking they had something sorta similar to what you're asking about. -

Bump when you get something in vape mail.
charliestheman replied to Tam's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I got some delicious Strawberry E-Juice and a sample taste of Black & Mild, both from Fadora Vapors. Also had some vape mail disappointment. I tracked my order with tons of Kanthal A1 and a new ohm meter and some other goodies, and it was very depressing. After chasing down the mail truck for the last four or five days I decided to track it and saw the most frightening words... Returned To Sender It was terrible, my heart sank. But I talked to the vendor and emailed him my address. He promptly dropped another expedited order out to the same incorrect address but I think he's got it now where I can at least intercept it at the post office. I think they must have a policy where if the shipping address and billing address are different, they ship to the billing address to avoid fraud. -
Welcome to the site. I'm from next door in Louisiana. It's a great forum, there's actually a lot of people here from Texas, and one person who likes it so much she posted about maybe moving there. That brought out all the Texas haters lol. Hopefully you get deeper into the hobby side of things and stick around, it's great for the mind as well as the lungs. (This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA, they can blow it out their donkey.)

Vapor Beast had them on sale for like 14.99 or 19.99 last week but I think it was the hot deal of the week, if you're getting one I would email them and ask if you can still get it. They had a number like xx/100 that they alotted to sell at that price so if it wasn't met they might would match it for you.

After reading the FAQ on their site I see what you mean. It's like the time I almost killed my diabetic grandmother with a dairy queen "buster bar" that said "No Sugar Added" FYI, Buster Bars are no sugar added which is way different from "sugar free" Sorry Gramma. The bad part was, she had been eating them daily until the doctor nailed down the problem because I didn't just provide her one, I advised she eat them often since they were so good and didn't have any sugar lol (I can laugh because she's fine now)

What do you carry your supplies in on the go?
charliestheman replied to rbalenbin's topic in New Vapers Forum
I've been taking it old school with a cardboard box for on the go, one that has a front flap that slides in or out after you close the box. I'm looking for something better though. Last night I redid my boxes so that I don't carry around things I don't need (like three empty kanger pro tank boxes, an aspire naultilus box and a Kayfun Box. My vape kit got much smaller when I removed all those empty boxes lol. For the house, I'm thinking of something like one of those stand up wooden jewlry boxes that women have, but something antique and maybe a bit more masculine than what women usually use. I have a two chest roll around snap-on tool box in my bedroom and there's not room for another one, hence something small like the jewelry box idea. The problem is my girl's been asking for one of those jewelry boxes for a year, so if I buy one for my vaping supplies I'll end up in the dog house or give in and have it full of jewelry. -
I REALLY like the KayFun Lite myself, wrapped the first coil and used an organic cotton ball and built it in 10 minutes including warm soapy water and it's the best vape I've had so far. Can't imagine what it will be like with good coils. But if you're looking for a regular clearomizer type device my first suggestion would be a solid stainless tank for the Aspire Nautilus or my favorite clearomizer/cartomizer tank http://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/parts-accessories/ego-parts/ego-cartomizers/aspire-et-s-bdc-glassomizer/ Here it is from an approved forum vendor It's probably the best of both worlds, stainless over a glass lining http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=3259&category_id=90

The terminology can be a little confusing with tanks and cartomizers, atomizers, and clearomizers. Back in the day, almost all the atomizers were the same, and looked kind of like the cartridge (filter end) of a "blu" cigarette. You put the fluid right in that little cartridge but it wasn't much. So people realized there was a way to seal that atomizer in a plastic enclosure and punch holes in the lil cartridge so that it could swim in juice basically and still work without just being a wet shorted mess. As E-Cigarettes started to get bigger and mroe people started improving them as they got popular, companies began building the atomizer and surrounding tank as "all in one" units, it was convenient, no punching of things, trying to seal a plastic enclosure around a maybe not perfectly round atomizer etc. And when they were used up they could be refilled or thrown a way and replaced. That's called a "cartomizer" and its like a tank with coil unit all built together and designed to be "plug and play" Clearomizers and cartomizers are often describing the same thing, but clearomizer means you can see inside of it and see the liquid. Your budget is very good, you can get started with that for sure. In my opinion I would start out with either a Vision Spinner 2 or an Innokin VV3 or MVP 2.0 Those might sound complicated as a beginner but they're both VERY user friendly and IMO catered towards the new user who doesn't know how to use an Advanced Personal Vaporizer which is also called an APV. APV means it's got variable power control. Variable wattage means the unit will check the ohm resistance in your carto/clearomizer and tell the battery to send the right amount of power for that tank. The user above who suggested the Vamo V5, I agree it's also a good option especially if you like the form factor, and if it's priced right. I haven't been following the sales on them close but they did have some amazing prices on them in a few newsletter deals. Here's what I would probably recommend starting with, The MVP 2.0 is bigger, personally I was scared to death it would be too big and not cigarette like enough. Then I got it and realized that size totally wasn't a problem and I loved the form factor, it's shaped just right IMO and built rock solid, feels quality. It also lasts several days on a charge, and is easy to set up correctly. http://101vape.com/mods/183-innokin-itaste-vv-v3-express-kit.html The VV3 is a much smaller, slender, ego or e-pen shaped device that's also an advanced personal vaporizer. http://101vape.com/mods/183-innokin-itaste-vv-v3-express-kit.html Here's some good cartomizer/clearomizer tanks that are easy to use, and have replaceable coil units which also include the wick. So you keep the cartomizer, unscrew a lil plug looking thing from the bottom and place it in 91 alcohol to clean the gunk out, or throw it away and place a new coil in. I personally take the coil out and soak it and rinse it then let it dry and next time I swap the coil unit out I try that one and either leave it in or throw it away and grab a new one. Some people say that at 50 cents to $1.50 it's not worth soaking them and they prefer to just chunk and replace. Whatever works for you, just letting you know it's a possibility. http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=3259&category_id=90 http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=2807&category_id=46 Those are some good starting out type carto/clearomizers IMO. I have some more expensive pro tanks but I've realized I'd rather have several less expensive ones since they vape about the same (otherwise I wouldn't want them, the vape quality is important) and I can easily switch them out and have several loaded with different flavors.

Personally I like the Aspire BDC, if you like a tighter draw and hard hit then the BDC is that way, my iClear 30 is more airy and a milder hit, of course those correlate. I used both back and fourth, only difference was I used the iClear 30s. Definitely run it in "wattage made" until you get used to it and start figuring up volts vs ohms (if you ever want too) which means you adjust it using the P. Start at 7.5 or 8 and as you vape, bump it up .5 at a time until it tastes burnt, then back up a notch. I vaped the BDC at a watt or so higher than the iClear I believe. 8 - 9.5 is where most of my tank/juice combos fell. You can either use the wattage "power = P on the LED" adjusts the batteries output for whatever the ohms of the tank/cartomizer is. It's like the "smart" setting. Voltage just tells the battery to output that set power and it doesn't calculate for the ohm load. In theory, a 1.8 ohm coil requires less power from the battery to get the same voltage output of the coil. Wattage (Power) mode tells the battery there's a 1.8 ohm load so and turn the voltage down a bit to put the same amount of power across the atomizer. Setting volts means it's going to output whatever you set, the mod wont adjust for it. For all intensive purposes most run the wattage mode 95% of the time. Oh and by that I mean, if you set the P, it uses that setting. As soon as you set the V (looks like a U on the sticker) you over ride whatever you set with the P. It's two seperate modes and if you set one button as soon as you change the other one it undoes what you had set, if that makes sense. It's like having two women that don't like each other, you know better than to take them both on a date at the same time, whichever one you pick up, is the one you'll be using for the night. Or number one will get rid of number 2.

Congratulations, that's a huge milestone to reach, really something to be proud of. Even though I haven't been around a long time, you've been a lot of help to me and I consider you a friend, to me and the community in general.

This is probably in the wrong section, if it's against the rules or in the wrong section, mods please move or delete it. I did some searching but I have to leave for a dentist appointment. While checking something for another member, I ran across the Innokin VV3 on sale for like $26 If I wasn't spent up for the week I would order it right this second for when I need to go places that require an ultra tiny portable mod http://101vape.com/mods/183-innokin-itaste-vv-v3-express-kit.html Several places have the VV3 priced higher than the MVP 2.0 which I don't get, but this was the same price as fasttech and it's authentic and from a reputable vape shop as far as I know.

I second the opinion on the iTaste VV (VV3 is the current version) It's about the same size as the ego style devices like the evod that you have, and is variable variable/variable wattage at the touch of a button and VERY user friendly. When you want to get the next step up after that for something with a huge battery, lots of power, and ease of use, you could easily move up the the MVP 2.0, both kits run about $35-$45 on sale. http://101vape.com/mods/183-innokin-itaste-vv-v3-express-kit.html https://www.completevape.com/innokin-itaste-mvp-20-shine-purple-with-snowflakes https://www.completevape.com/innokin-itaste-mvp-20-shine-hot-pink-with-skull-design

My stepdaughter told me there was 0 Nic e-liquid available and she's been watching kids on Facebook and some viney thing blow smoke rings and do smoke tricks. She's 14, I told her it was still bad, and about VG and PG causing hair to grow on nipples and female chests, thick wiry hair like chimpanzees. Hey I had to come up with something! I also reminded her that a teenage *** was still very capable of having my steel toe boot in it.
