  1. I got mine vaping 0 nic, I even let her hang on to the MVP 2.0 for good. There's method to my madness. The other day when she tried a sample of juice and was describing what she liked and didn't like and I loaded up another aspire with a different flavor, she said "Ohhhh, I never thought about how you really needed different tanks so you can have different flavors. I wondered why you kept getting more and more in the mail." A few nights ago I got in the car when were running errands and she said "Nope no mail." I looked at her because it was so random for what we were doing and she said "No vape mail came today. I checked when i got home." I was practically dancing in the passenger seat trying to hide my smile as I thought about her being more excited about vape mail than me.
  2. Sub Ohm is definitely possible on the KFL, at least .6 and above, can't vouch for really low ohm builds like .3 ohms etc. Most people say the KFL+ is their best tank flavor wise. I always hear things like " When I really want to taste my juice I grab the KFL+" I get really good flavor but I'm vaping on a regulated mod. At .6 ohms I get more favor fast, at 1.0 to 1.2 ohm is where I get the best flavor with the 50/50 juice I usually vape. How are you building it and what guage wire are you using? Are you using an ohm meter? What kind of cotton are you using? Organic cotton balls, yarn, string/wick etc. This is very similar to how I do my build, my favorite vapes are fruit flavored like Watermelon and Strawberry. Have you tried playing with airflow to adjust the flavor? Now that I'm thinking about it, the wicking may have more to do with what you're seeing than the coil and ohms.
  3. I ran across something INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS when I first got into "enthusiast grade" vaping and premium parts. I had a new machined stainless drip tip/mouthpiece, It was one of my first RDA type purchases and my when I got my very first RDA I didn't wash and learned a lesson with the oily taste/vape so I happened to decide to wash this one. As I was washing it, a stainless shaving about 2 inches long was curled up so about 1 inch curled and 1/8" coils, came out of the drip tip on the mouth end. It just fell out as soon as the soapy water got to it. Had that been my first RDA, I would have inhaled it, at best sucked it into my mouth and possibly sucked it from the drip tip into my throat and either swallowed it or gasped and ended up with it in my insides. I've been meaning to make a post to warn newcomers and I had forgotten about it until I saw this thread.
  4. Man I'm really sorry to hear about the clone issues. I was excited for you to get it. I'm glad you shared the info though, it will probably save A LOT of us from wasting money on the first run, I was really hoping it would be a diamond in the rough because of the price. I dunno what proteus offered, but his work is pretty good, on the DNA I got from him at least. How the build quality of the housing? I'm wondering how the machining and finish is on the clone to use for a DNA housing. I love the size of it for an out and about vape.
  5. Oh good deal, the 30 beta unit required separate presses, I don't know if that was fixed before production release or not. The regular DNA ones are the same as yours, you hold it a second or two and it wakes up.
  6. I have some family in Bartlett, TN. Are you familiar with rebuildable tanks, sounds like you've been around some coil building and stuff, you just haven't dripped before. Personally I think dripping is great when I'm relaxing at home and want to really enjoy my vape and my juice. You'll get the full flavor from it. You'll also get more nicotine, so some people drip a lower level nicotine than they would use in a cartomizer. Tell us a little more about your current equipment and what you're vaping. Edit: oops meant to say never dripped, not never tripped before. I didn't mean to take it there. Typo corrected.
  7. I don't mind the noise mine makes but it's more of an airflow than a whistle in mine, although it is a slight whistle. But when I get some more kayfuns, I'm going to do some airflow customizations to this one or if one of the new ones is really noisy i'll probably start with that one. Mostly I just want to see how much I can affect both sound and performance, but I'm not sacrificing this one right now, I'm too in love with it. It'd be like sending my wife into plastic surgery to get the wrinkle out of her shirt lol
  8. I clean my tanks when I change liquid usually, definitely when I change flavors, with at least a rinse in the sink and dry. I soak my disposable coil units like the protank coils and aspire coils in 91% alcohol, then I rinse them really really really good and let them air dry a day or two. On my kayfun lite, I use organic cotton wicks. When I change fluiid occasionally I just pull the wick out throw it away, then after rinsing my deck off real good or cleaning with alcohol and rinsing, I dry burn the coil then rewick and refill. Usually though if I'm pulling the tank, I'm wrapping a new coil while I'm at it. It's so nice using organic cotton balls, for $3 I bought 6 months to a years worth of wicks, and I can throw them away and rewick easily. The Kayfun Lite is SOOOO easy to clean and rebuild, it takes about the same amount of time to wrap a coil, test it, install it, then wick and prime it as it does to fill the tank with juice. I have been rebuilding almost every night because my coils keep getting better and better and I like trying new builds and changing and testing, keeping track of my likes and dislikes with the build, then next time trying something else. I seem to get way more life out of my Aspire coils than a lot of people do, I'm not sure if it's because of the premium regulated power source or cleaning the aspire coils and tank instead of running them till they don't vape. My OCD wants to think it's because I clean them
  9. The Kayfun Lite or at least the Kayfun Lite Plus has adjustable airflow. Some of the clones don't though. The difference is the Kayfun has the airflow adjustment screw flush mounted on the bottom of the tank, and the Russian 91% has the adjustment screw on the side of the tank. Also, the Kayfun has an air channel that runs straight through the side, perpendicular. The Russian 91% has an air channel that runs at an angle, sort of parallel with the side of the tank but parallel isn't a good word. There's arguments both ways about which is better when you watch youtube reviews. I have a Russian 91% and another Kayfun coming and when they get here, i'm drilling out the airflow hole on the one I'm vaping now. If someone does end up with a kayfun version that doesn't have adjustable airflow, I don't think it would end up being much of a con, since most of us run them wide open or with the airflow control screw totally removed. I've been experimenting both ways, the tone is different with the control screw removed, I haven't decided if I like the quiter but slightly higher pitch sound with the airflow control screw installed but wide open, or the more noisy but lower pitch that I get without the screw in place.
  10. Does the DNA 20 clone require you to press the fire button to wake it up out of hibernation, then press it again to fire it? I read about the DNA 30 having that problem but it might be unrelated to the Chinadna 20 chip.
  11. I took my favorite juice canister out of it's hiding spot, so I'm vaping Fadora Watermelon because I ordered a bunch more over the weekend, so I'm not as scared to use it all up now. Have been saving the last few ML while I vaped Grape and Strawberry Fadora and some watermelon i had from EC blends. I use the EC blends for new hardware and new builds when theres a chance it might run down the drain or something. I'd never risk Fadora juice for testing o-rings and such.
  12. I usually use tapatalk on my device because I'm taking the pictures from there, but with imgur there's a BBC or HTML code (i'm about to try BBC it says forums in parenthesis, you might have to click on get image code in the bottom right corner when you mouse over your pic (that's what I did but in your album it might be right under the img, that's how it is in the hosts that I use) Test OK I did one, it's real easy when you upload, it's on the screen, just copy BBCode
  13. I can vouch for this one, it was my birthday present. It's still on sale, and in my opinion worth the $39.99 or $45 whichever price it is when you get it. Mine has excellent craftsmanship compared to a lot of the clones I see on you tube and a lot of authentic RBA's too. I'll be ordering a second one to do the RDA conversion after I get my Russian 91% Oh snap forgot the link http://www.custommodcreation.com/shop/288/black-edition-kayfun-v3
  14. Since the fish drove everyone away with his fishy smell, Congrats on one year! I am working on blowing enough vapor to not be able to see the TV but I keep getting dizzy first. I think my TV's too big, it couldn't be that there's too much nicotine
  15. Its mostly just different terminology, when I got started not that long ago it was all e-cigs and the cigarette look-a-like devices were called cigalikes. IMO, stick with something like the Ego style devices like this to start with if you want something really cheap http://www.fadoravapor.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=31_32&products_id=52 I paid about $30 for a similar device locally, which was only half as much as I spent on a stupid blue starter kit a year before that's collecting dust somewhere. I quickly moved up to an MVP 2.0 that i paid about $40 for and it was way nicer, but starting out with a box mod isn't for everyone, which is why I recommend the Ego-T type batteries and clearomizers.
  16. I'm actually looking for one of these around town. I ordered this and I'll give it a review once it arrives, but it's at fasttech, by the time it gets here, the FDA grace period might be over and it will have to go for approval. http://www.fasttech.com/products/1672401
  17. The ohm meter is definitely required, and it's not only to keep you from exploding mods, but it's also for performance, without an ohm meter you aren't going to build the same quality coils as you will with an ohm meter. Your performance will double. An ohm meter http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=vmj_color_plus.tpl&product_id=2416&category_id=68 Lightning Vapes http://shop.lightningvapes.com/products/cartomizer-and-atomizer-ohm-meter http://shop.lightningvapes.com/products/kanthal-a1-resistance-wire ^^ 100' of 30 guage runs $4.50 and 28 guage runs $7.25 for an idea of price, but you can also buy smaller rolls And the Kayfun Lite RBA is the way to go IMO, they're still on sale it looks like, they were 39.99 for memorial day. I've been quite happy with the performance and machining http://www.custommodcreation.com/shop/288/black-edition-kayfun-v3
  18. This sounds like a good company to check out. Thanks for the review. It's funny the worst one out of the box turned out to be the best vape. I haven't yet had that experience. Do they have a born on date on the bottle that lets you know when it was mixed? How do you like it being chameleon-ish in Heaven's Bounty for an all day vape? It it like a pleasant surprise or a surprise surprise that may go either way?
  19. Welcome Matthew. I switched from analogs to exclusive vaping almost exactly the same way you did, smoking a few a day like that. When I stepped up my nicotine, and quit going outside at breaktime with the smokers it was easier than I expected. Once I had good e-juice, my camel full flavor or cowboy killers just didn't taste good. I don't know if you smoke in your vehicle but that was a huge milestone for me, to not light one up in the truck, and once I accomplished a day or two and got some good air freshener to hide the Louisiana Heat cigarette cooking from everywhere smell, it got a lot easier. I posted in your juice thread too. Hope you stick around, it's good people here Lots of Texas boys lately, we might have to have a vape meet along the I-10 corridor. I know JerryJoe (or whats his face until I check the spelling) said he's done for a vape meet sometime.
  20. Let me know if you need some ready to vape juice to tide you over until you can get to a store, I have a couple I could drop in the mail in the morning and should get them before the weekend. Just message me if you need it. Others have been kind to me and I'll pay it forward whenever I get the chance Your online juice may be on the way already and get there before mine would anyway, but the offer's here if you need it.
  21. I believe today is the final day for comments to be submitted on the second call to action. If you haven't done it yet, what the hell are you waiting for?! Oops I meant to say, please go here and do your part, only takes a few minutes, maybe 5. http://blog.casaa.org/2014/05/second-call-to-action-for-fda-proposed.html
  22. What mg juice do you vape? This might help http://www.vapingmaps.com/
  23. According to this article, it will accept a 510, ego, or 306 threaded cartomizer. If that's correct, I'd stick with ego or 510, and there will be tons of options. http://ecigone.com/e-cigarette-reviews/volcano-inferno-e-cigarette-review/ The local shop will have something you can test fit, Earthling listed lots of solutions for ego or 510. In my experience, the Kanger is carried at a lot of B&M stores, but whatever coils they sell in store is what I would buy. If they sell Kanger coils in the store, then I'd buy one of the tanks that takes them. Even if you order your coils online most of the time, it's really nice to know that in a jam you can run down the street and get it locally. For reference and comparison, the B&M's I have experience with sell 5 packs of Kanger coils for 10 bucks. The mini protank 3's sell online for about $5 when they're on sale, coil packs are retailed at $5.99 at Fadora Vapor, so maybe buy the first tank and coil pack from the B&M and look around for a sale and buy a few more online when the opportunity arises. If they sell Aspire ET-S or BDC cartomizers, personally I really like them and the Nova tanks on the ego batteries. The Aspire tanks run about $7 - $8 online I'd guess around $12 at a lot of B&M stores, the coil packs are usually about $0.50 more per coil unit than the kanger coils. (Below is strictly based on my personal vaping preference, some others feel the opposite and some feel the same, it's trial and error) FWIW I bought a protank 2, then went back and bought a protank 3 very quickly afterwards from my B&M. I wished I would have tested the first protank I bought longer before buying the second one, because for my vaping preference I don't like the protanks enough to have spent $55 on them like I did. I still use both of them I just wish I would have saved the $30 I spent on the second one I bought. My lil reference above was for the protank 2 &3, you'll be buying the protank 2 or 3 mini which only costs half as much at my local shop. But given the chance, I would buy Evod cartomizers instead of the protanks next time because I like them just as much when using the stock kanger coil units.
  24. Aw man one of those nights eh? Hope other things went good and that wasn't the first thing you touched last night lol. My girlfriend's started occasionally vaping 0 nic for her sweet tooth cravings. I'm running with it so it will help justify my next DNA 30 custom
  25. I'm vaping the grape right now for the same reason. I REALLY like the Fadora fruit flavors because of that authentic bold real fruit taste. It's like real grapes while still being a very delicious vape, I call it a "bright" type flavor because it seems to really fill the pallette like my taste buds say "Yippee, he's vaping the Fadora again!"
