the standard mouth tip will either have removable cart or built in cart. mine had removable cart and that was nice as i didn't need to shave my ends down to keep them from melting on the bridge. drip tips are so you don't have to pull off the mouth piece. i actually don't drip anymore, use cartos only. i do still use drip tips just because they are built nice and have a nice wide mouth (some more than others). a regular kit will have those stupid pin holes and restrict air, who needs that and why is it built like that? the main advantage is that the drip tips don't build up condensation like the stock mouth pieces. leading to less "juice in mouth" experience. most people arent even aware of that factor. if you don't have a drip tip, buy one in an order some day. they are pretty cheap so, why not.

leave it a little loose? theres really no sure fire way to always get them lined up.

for chargers and batteries i would stick to the same brand. the ego battery is a bit different than other 510 batterys in that the 510 stick battery chargers cant charge the ego due to the size of the neck on the ego. 510 works with 510 equipment. any 510 atty or carto will fit any 510 battery. i have a feeling if you go get an ego (standard, xl, or passthough battery) your old batteries will be the "backups".

those leds you cant really replace. they aren't like a standard led you would buy at an electronics store. even looking at the small board at the end that has the led on it you would still not know you were looking at it. if they don't replace it, you now have a ninja 510 battery.

dont do "ego" mega cartos on a joye 510. they are about 3x the size round as a "non-ego" mega. the ego mega goes with the ego to make it about the size of a cigar from bottom to top but with a flat mouth tip. you can get a regular mega 510 and it is just a lot longer/same width as a joye 510 battery.

+1 @ jeffb now the other thing people are going to say is the ego. he will not be able to hold the ecig in his mouth unless he clamps down with his teeth. it has a lot larger of a battery. they do make a usb pt ego battery. i would say get what jeff says and also the usb pt ego battery so when he gets out the tuck he can go straight on the go with that. get some 510 cartos and attys so he can see what he likes best. for driving carto will be much safer.

no if the threads area is getting 4v, then the box is working as it should. heres something i forgot. some of my old cartos have the middle round positive pin leaning more twd one side than the other. if i don't first push it over and then screw it in lightly it will not fire up. what was happing is the + center and - wall were coming into contact before the coil when i screwed it in. i have since toss those ones out but check that also.

if trying to get the center contact to adjust doesn't work, try removing the wet part of the box and using it as a regular 3.7v device. what i am thinking is MAYBE the needle is grounding out the atty/carto. so before you even get power to the coil the battery shuts down as soon as you hit the switch.

vg gives you less flavor those three things are about all there is to know. if you aren't sure what to use. go 50/50 to start and adjust it from there.

he has the same missy wetbox as you. where are you testing the voltage, at the spring or at the threads of the 510 (or w/e thread fittings are there). you need to test on the threads (if you aren't), and the center post inside the threads. if no reading then test it from the wire that connects to the switch from the batteries and neg to battery. if that works then the switch is blown. missy uses junk switches and 9 of 10 times they fry and need replaced. if that isn't the issue meter all areas and then meter your attys/cartos on 200 ohm to see what rating they show.

you aren't to far from me horne. any 510 or 901 drip tip will work the ego is a 510 atty/carto i have slacked off on vaping as much as i used to and now do about 2ml a day. when you first start vaping and giving up the ecigs you will vape more than you smoked due to being addicted to the other chemicals that are in and produced from smoking. if you snag atomizers its best to take out the wicking inside the atty, that are under the bridge. the bridge looks like the top of an "A" frame house. leave the bridge intact or you will have issues with leaking. as for juice, go with at least 6 kinds of juice from sweet/candy down to maybe tobacco to see what you like. never figured i would like the ones i bought or made but vaping is so different than smoking. i used to only smoke menthol but now i don't even want menthol as a vape. order extra stuff also. attys, cartos, batteries, and maybe another charger just to be on the safe side. since you cant readly pick these up at any store, if you run out of working parts you'll be right back on the cigs.

i double checked the order and paypal notes. that tekk was just supposed to be a 5.2v mod. there is a switch in that one because the backing that came with yours got messed up. the only other backs i had were of multivoltage, so thats what i tossed onto it.

wow, cant believe that got sent out like that. the thing is that those are built for 3.2ohm atty/carto if you want to use an lr on it you would need to use a step down voltage chip, and they cost around $20 a pop just for one. if you want to do it on your own, you need a 1 & 1.5ohm resistor that are at least 2w 1% and drop it in there. i use 3w for the ones i sold. i have a set here i could send you if you would like to do it on your own and show you how to wire it. thats if you are using 3.2ohm (based on ohms law) i can direct you to the chip if you want the step down that can use lr with.

they all should work just the same. what may be the case is the positive terminal isn't touching the carto. like jeff said, hit customer support and let them know the issue.

pg = throat hit vg = vapor clouds i tend to tell new people to do a 50/50 blend, if the th (throat hit) isn't up to snuff then do something more like 70/30 or 80/20

many of us remove the wicking under the bridge of the atty. if you look inside you will see a A shapped piece inside, there should be what looks like a string sticking out either side. take tweezers and pull it out of there. make sure to leave the bridge in there though or you will get a lot of juice coming out the bottom. this will remove the burnt taste. you still want to keep it juiced up and not dry vape it.

yeah, currently the tekk mod is my fav mod. i have tried others but for me the life is what matters. also the case is crazy good looking. fits in your hand really nice. looks big and it kinda is, but not having to worry about batteries dieing is a + for me. i tend to stay over at friends on the weekends, so having one device that can last me friday night till monday morning or longer (even with them vaping it) and not having to bring a bag of crap to charge batteries with is awesome!
