  1. no doubt kit, i have 5 mods sitting on my computer desk. maybe 2 510 stick batteries about 4-6 901 stick batteries attys cartos mega atty. it's a total addiction.
  2. 1. Is it normal to vape almost constantly? yep, when you first start you vape like nuts. you will cut back, but, by that time you may want to swap to something with a better mAh (the rating of battery life) 2. I have read elsewhere that you need to keep hydrated well while vaping. But I have not really read why. So.... Why? pg and vg pull moisture to the chemical. so when you vape you are removing water from your system. not a lot but if you vape a lot you will get cotton mouth. 3. Sometimes when I am heavily puffing away I get a taste that reminds me of the times I would break a cigarette and use scotch tape to put it back together. I.E. melted tape taste. Is that the fill melting or just something unique to PG liquids when they get too hot? i would think that your melting the plastic cart. open it up and look at the cart to see if it is warped. 4. I came to VT because one of the other major PV forums out there were so full of Blu bashing that I didn't feel comfortable posting there for fear of replies along the lines of "Send it back before it's too late" and "Get a 510 , nothing is better". It seems that VT is more tolerant of those of us who chose the Minicig l88b format to vape with. Is this true here at VT? at VT we believe in saying; "if you like it and it works for you, have at it". though, there's more of us that would like to bash on that then i'll let you know about, lol. 5. I am currently waiting on an order from ModernVapor.com of blank carts, 3 bottles of E Liquid (mmm peach!) and some Fluval foam to load up my own carts. Any tips for other accessories to purchase to make my refilling woes less? skip carts and attys, use cartomizers. all that goodness but less of the mess. i use cartomizers for on the go and attys for at home and just drip with them.
  3. #1 Do I need to go ahead and order a stock of empty cartridges? i would buy double of what you think you need, much like when you're out camping and collecting firewood. cartridges are a pain, they can flood your atty, leave juice inside that cant get to the atty.. etc look into cartos, much better design, can be refilled, and are much cheaper to buy. you can buy cartomizers for about $1 for blanks (not filled with juice) they can be purchased off the vapor talk store and work with your ego. #2 How long can I refill the preloaded ones for?(All I will have are the preloaded ones) the carts, as long as you want. the basic setup uses an attomizer and cartridge. the cart is just a plastic mouth piece with a place that the juice sits. the juice is held in with a filler that will remind you of cotton or fiberglass. #3 Is it just the wick in the cartridge that goes bad? the coil actually goes bad, and that is located in the atomizer or bottom of a cartomizer. #4 has anyone tried to find a suitable wick substitute for repacking cartridges? the wick is in the atty, under the bridge, wrapped in a coil, the coil is the heating element. as for the cartridges, people use the blue foam used for fish tank filters. here is an image of this product for me, it's a messy thing to deal with. if i want something that holds juice i'll just do a cartomizer. #5 Is there any need to have the 2 eGo's or is it just a convenience thing? you wouldn't need two egos. you want at least 2 batteries, and 5 atomizers or cartomizers around at all times. if you have the ability to order more, do it. it's a good idea to have a PT (passthrough) so that way you don't need to always have a battery charged and vaping on PTs are powered by a usb connection. #6 How many drops on average does it take to get the equivalent of an analog (avg. being 5 minutes) when vaping you're not going to end up vaping for 5mins and then put it down. pretty much what happens is you pick it up, vape a few times and then put it down. that's one of the things i love about vaping, i don't feel required to finish what would feel like an entire smoke. #7 Is there any other "must have" equipment? Q-tips, i'll end up being the only person ever to say that is a must have. people send me "dead" batteries for me to make mods with all the time. i haven't had but 2 dead ones in the 20 that i have received so far. most of these people never clean the battery threads and then it makes zero contact, or such a little bit that it cant power the device. after you are done using the ego clean the threads out, before charging clean the threads out. also clean your atty threads. now if you are going to go diy with juice that's another story. #8 Is there any thing you can think of that I need to know, remember, think about, plan for, or avoid? this is a transition, not a sure fire stop as soon as you get the ego. if you're dieing for a cig, have one.. just don't keep smoking them like you normally would. the idea is to cut back, then stop the smoking. some just swap right away, but we aren't all idental when it comes to our needs. planing, just keep extra stock of supplies around avoid, don't go buying something before first asking if anyone has anything to say about it. that's how most people get burnt. though, they might hate something like a flavored juice, you might love it. so just take into consideration and then use a judgment call on it.
  4. yeah, that is the first counter i ever used. though my calculations are wrong because i don't always buy what i put into the system from the start. that's good for just a quick glance online. if you really want to get down to the brass tax of it all. keep a text file with what you bought, where you bought it, cost of the item, shipping cost, how long it lasted, dates of hardware purchaces, when you started using said hardware, when it went defective.. etc. that way you have a detailed list and will also provide you with the needed info to figure out when/quantity you will need to order later. like predicting the weather, you might be off but it's not like planning for the wrong season.

  6. yeah i slipped when my kids asked me what it was and said "this is the juice i put into my ecig". my son and daughter 6 & 4 said it's not like our juice right? so we called it nic-drip
  7. i was going to say the blame would be to the coffe. anytime i drink coffee it smells like old nasty coffee when i pee.
  8. check parts 4 and 5 http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/36180-wonderful-world-vaping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html if your anything like me. you will end up looking at all that and saying; "i don't care enough to know". the skinny is the 808/901 = flavor - 510 vapor and less flavor. i have both and it's not that noticable. if you have something you like but want more vapor + flavor hit 5v. doesn't really matter what you use at that power.
  9. add more vg than pg for more vapor. also just in the off chance, try cleaning your thread of the atty and battery terminal. sometimes that can reduce the ability to drive the power needed to the coil. i wouldn't see why it wouldn't be producing much vapor with the mix have you done the following as well? tried different battery, same atty. tried different battery, different atty.
  10. if you fill the bottle to much, like me, then you sort of need to. also if it is warmed up you shake it a lot less.
  11. only thing i can think of is that it's not all mixed. by that i mean the pg/liquid/flavor isn't uniform in the dropper bottle. take the lid and dropper off, pop it into the microwave. just so it feels warm in your hand and looks more like water when shook. shake the thing, roll it, fipp it around and shake it like crazy.. then hold it up to a light source and make sure it looks totally mixed. if it isn't you will see veins in the liquid.
  12. i used to do the blue foam. after i got my first carto i threw away every piece of blue foam i had, simple as that. the whole mess of filling with blue foam is just not worth it. pretty sure i wasted more juice than i vaped because depending on the thickness and mixture of pg/vg would depend on how thick your blue foam had to be. also cartos are not as tall as the two part atty. something i really like.
  13. clean your contacts with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol till there is no film left on them. check the charger and make sure that inside it is also bright and clean. if not unplug it and try to clean it. what i do is dip it in and then give it a good whip to take off any extra liquid any time i clean anything. i got a dead 510 charger from someone once for tinkering with. i found that the problem was that the positive contact was so caked with old juice that it wouldn't make a connection. actually had to use a wire brush on a dremel to clean it.
  14. lmao. makes me remember when my kids were trying to talk.
  15. the stick batteries have such a low mAh that under load they have a hard time performing the needed 3.7v. the ones i have test at about 3.6v under no load. between the stick and a 14500 battery is the ego battery, in relation to mAh. now being that it has more life it can perform better. a 14500 battery on a full charge that is rated at 3.7v actually sits about 4.2v i would assume the same would be true for the ego. when i swapped from the stick batteries to the 14500s i was blown away how much harder they hit. same goes for 5v. even on a fresh charge i thought; "at 4.2v there cant be that much difference". well there is a huge difference! so look at it like this. if you can vape a lower nic and not have that "nic-fit" then do so. the less nic the better being that it's not considered "good" for you.
  16. you need a direct line pt to make that function at variables.
  17. awesome, on the box mod did you have a problem with the battery fitting or not connecting? i tend to chop off the spring a bit to let it fit.
  18. i french inhailed once, and only once! talk about burning! though i exhail threw my nose all the time and don't have the same issue.
  19. to make it even easier these have no liquid (fill them yourself) http://www.vaportalkstore.com/products/5-Pack-of-510-Cartomizers.html these are prefilled liquid ones http://www.vaportalkstore.com/products/VT-Classic-Cartomizers.html prefilled come in tobacco and menthol only, from 24mg to 16mg. unless you love tobacco or menthol. i would snag the "blanks" (no liquid ones) and some bottles of juice. sweet dawn is all i have tried from VT but it taste good to me. sort of like a pear with honey.
  20. the ego runs a 510 atty and carto. so snag a 5 pack of 510 cartos and your golden. i'm starting to like cartos much more than attys at this point. the whole not dripping is kind of nice.
  21. 1) What are the e-cig facts as related to use, acceptance, health, odor? it's nicotine on demand, you don't have to "inhale" as much to get the same effect. usually with a cig you feel the need to smoke the entire thing. putting one out and then finishing it taste nasty with an ecig you vape what you want and stop. most places i go they don't care that i vape. they tend to think "oh he is smoking" because of the clouds i produce, but if you talk to the people and explain what it is, they don't care if you do it there. health risks, as far as we know there aren't any health risks other than being addicted to nicotine. yet nicotine in and of it's self doesn't really have health risks. it's like caffeine. when you drink a lot of caffeine you can go threw withdraw, being that it also is a drug. oder, isn't really noticeable. you have to blow it into someones face for them to smell it. i tested this and a friend said it smelled like a watered down jolly rancher. 2) Who do you think is the most reliable manufacture for e-cigs? joye/janty, is the peoples choice. on the other side of things you also have people that make them out of different things for those that want larger power or battery life. tend to be called modders. 3) Are e-cigs a cessation, alternative nicotine delivery or traditional cigarette replacement? that is more defined per user. some people don't even use nicotine in their devices. 4) If they are, why are e-cigs safer than traditional cigarettes? many of the testomionals of e-cig users will state how they can taste foods, smell, breath, and over all just feel better. here is the break down of what i put into my juice. LorAnn Oils Glycerine LorAnn Oils Flavoring PG nicotine @ either 18 or 24mg depending on what i feel like using that day. take also into account that there is no burning. ramp up the amount of what you have to a closed off room with a barrel of anything burning vs a room with a fog machine using just glycerine (pg). the fact is your not making it out of the smoke room. 5) What made you try and continue use of e-cigarettes? i don't want the lug and cancer issues that go with smoking 6) What should I get to start my e-cig experience? the normal reply would be the ego. it is a 510 kit and people love it. the smaller kits with the almost identical shape of an analog cigarette. just don't pack enough battery life. 7) Who has the most reliable and best value in e-cig distribution? i sway more to the modders, you use batteries with a higher mAh (life) in mods. and the batteries tend to be $20+ less than a brand name with high mAh. Thanks all! The feedback is much appreciated and I will update the post with the answers in the event that that mods do grant a pinned topic!
  22. best thing you could ever do is buy a LOT of 3ml empties. once i run low on the 10ml i swap down to the 3ml as it is easier to drip in smaller. put the dulcis into any container with no top on it, not where it came from. -edit: let it sit for a day and it should be fine. clean out the othe one you put it into with lemon juice. then let it sit
