since you say you don't have disposable cash, cartos are the way to go. they tend to run a single dollar per carto. attys are good for DD but are a bit more expensive. if you are on the go DDing isn't always something you can do, like driving. maybe get a few attys for at home and cartos for on the go. you don't have to be tied down to one or the other.

just about everything, even "made in usa" is contracted to the asian area, then assembled here in the states. like american cars, lol. i can build a mod with the case being USA made, BUT, batterie(s), buttons, electronics, threads, or atty/carto will be import. that's about as close as you're going to get.

lol, love you guys! there are a lot of great mods out there, focus on battery life and size for your mod. many mods take w/e batteries and then use a cheap regulator that burns off the extra energy as heat. the tekk lasted me about 3 1/2 days under extreme usage and charging my zune. i am also working "slowly" on the skyewalker mod. pretty much looks like a light saber when light up and will be multivoltage. will last half as long as the tekk mod. might get a working version done in a week or two, as most of my time and energy go into the tekk mods. if you want cheap, a simple battery box mod will do 5v.. not pretty or last all that long, but it works.

either getting regular cartos or the ce2 new cartos that have no filler. if you are down for doing either list how many you want of either. may do both but reguardless i'm snatching up something regular cartos are 80 cent a pop.

many mods to choose from. any mod that takes 14500, cr123a, or 18650 is going to be good both cr and 14500 last about the same time, 18650 lasts quite a bit longer. if you get a mod and are expected to shell out over 120, it better be a multivoltage device.

it's defected. if under warranty snag another. if not i should have one on the way to my house right now.

that is something i wouldn't even make if i had the spare parts in my house. that's saying a lot since i was and maybe still am going to make a dilgo. (you can figure that one out)

you have to do two things to cartos to get them with that "oh so fresh" feeling the best is to use the squeeze bulb trick. it's the lil blue squeeze thing you suck snot from babies noses or i think they use them for ears also. chop off enough of the pointy part to be able to fit it into either the opening of your atty (for 808/901) or enough for the threads of a 510 to fit into. suck up water into the rest of the bulb and fit it onto the cart. squirt, fill, squirt, fill, squirt fill. till there is no trace of smell or color. with a 510 you can usually fit the thing into the opening also if you cut it right.. do that way also. once done you can boil if you want, i don't as cartos have a paper with glue on them most times. after the cleaning stage, you can blow the carto out with the bulb facing it open ended down. then hold the thread end and whip it at the ground like your trying to fling out the water at the floor. to dry, i put mine where hot air will be blowing on it, like the side of my pc that spits out crazy heat or behind my xbox while its on. if you want you can even throw them in the back of a car window and let the sun bake them dry. boiling isn't really needed.

if you are going to build a mod that is "Variable", using a resistor isn't going to cut it. as you use power the voltage drops. if you are blocking 1v on 6v and the 6v drops to 5v you then have 4v. this is fine if you are using a direct power source from something like usb but not for batteries.

yeah the 250 price tag is insain. you can buy some of the best mods out there for well over 100 less and last 4 days on a single charge. the key to remember is that the 250 was worth it for switching over. so don't focus on the money, but don't buy anything from them again. now anyone saying one cartomizer or cartridge lasts = to a carton is full of bs. vape when and however much you feel like it. what it looks like you have is an 808 kit. i say use that till it dies or you want something that lasts longer. if you want better performance you can check into an ego or a mod. personally i tend to stick with the 510 attys and cartomizers. buy juice in the bottles like you would find here at the vt store along with empty cartos and attys this way you can fill your own and save cash and time. the prefilled stuff pretty much sucks.

mark vape-rapes everyones before they get it.. while on cam.. OH THE HORROR! well everyone that got one since i have been here other than me.. i dropped in most of the guts into the rook mark-jolly mod.

it's not the juice that is burning. not many people that have a 6v like 6v. 5ish volt is the best to use. what you are burning is the filler in the carto or the wick in the atty. AV juice is great! if you have a device that you can dial back the voltage on from say 6v to 4.5 to 5.24v range.. stick around that range. my tekk mod does 5.24 and its great with my cartos, the attys i have are all way off of the ohm so they are hit and miss on 5v.

check with the place you bought it and see if you can swap it. all else fails... sounds like the center contact (vout) is to low. you could place a small piece of metal on the terminal and solder it into place.. should make it a little smaller than the post. could even look into rare earth magnent.

its an 808 901 has a hole in the atty above the threads of the atty/cart
