Have you considered the Kanger Subtank Mini?  They're great tanks, good flavor, plenty of pre-made coil choices available, and they come with an RBA deck so you  can build your own coils to suit your needs/preferences.

I've been vaping over 3 years. I'm in better health at 52 than I was at 42. I've also gotten more well-meaning advice or comment since vaping than I ever did when I was killing myself with cigarettes.

I started vaping at 24 mg too. I'm down to 6 after three and a half years. I am planning on dropping to 3 and then maybe move to 0 by the end of the year.

I have only been 4 days no smoking. But, you have to start somewhere. I'm 58. BUT, I have my 78 year old mom now just starting to get used to vaping on my ipic mini. She likes the juice I made, so here's hoping. Shes been smoking since she was 15!

Thanks for posting!  I read it earlier, but as educated Vapers, are we really surprised at the findings?  I honestly wasn't.  I don't Vape in the house because my wife doesn't want it around the kids, I understand that, respect that, and agree with it from an exposure and ethical standpoint.  But considering the ingredients of what goes in our juice, by and large there's not a whole lot of "harmful substances" to begin with, especially when you compare it to the alternative.  I want to see more studies like this for sure, because once enough study has FINALLY been done, maybe people will finally see the light, that Vaping isn't anything like big tobacco, not even remotely close.  And to lump us the same category as that nonsense is imo, absolute nonsense.  Keep, on vaping guys!

I'm using the Kanger subtank mini with the RBA deck and the longest time I got out of a coil was almost 8 months. I was changing the wick every few weeks. It's easy to learn how, and I can replace the wick and be up and running in less than ten minutes. I really prefer the flavor versus the premade coils, and the cotton is a lot cheaper.

I read this in a blog called Vaping Post this morning. Thought it quite interesting seeing that it was done in the good ole USA. (I wanted to copy/paste the link and my computer wouldn't cooperate.)
Air Sampling confirms secondhand vapor is harmless
Results obtained from an air sample of a small non-ventilated vape shop, clearly indicate that the amount of toxic substances present in the air where a lot of vaping is taking place, are of insignificant levels.
The California Department of Public Health has been carrying out air sampling in vape shops throughout the state, as part of its initiative to determine the health effects of second-hand vapor exposure.
Earlier today in his blog, Public Health Expert Dr. Michael Siegel pointed out that the results for this report were obtained from a relatively small and non-ventilated vape shop, where many of the employees and 13 customers were actively vaping while the sampling was taking place, hence what would be considered a situation presenting a high level of exposure to second-hand vapor. However, given all these unfavourable conditions, the results still reported no dangerous levels of exposure to any hazardous chemicals.
The main results of the air sampling go as follows :
Nicotine: Not detected Glycidol: Not detected Formaldehyde: 7.2 ppb Diacetyl: Not detected using standard method 2,3-Pentanedione: Not detected using standard method Acetyl butyryl: Not detected using standard method Acetoin: Not detected using standard method Acetone: Not detected Ethyl benzene: Not detected m,p-Xylene: Not detected o-Xylene: Not detected Toluene: Not detected Acetaldehyde: Not detected Acetonitrile: Not detected alpha-pinene: Not detected Benzene: Not detected Chloroform: Not detected d-Limonene: Not detected Methylene chloride: Not detected Methyl methacrylate: Not detected n-Hexane: Not detected Styrene: Not detected Finally putting fears about formaldehyde to rest?
Dr. Siegel pointed out that the level of formaldehyde detected, is consistent with the levels normally found in indoor and outdoor air levels under baseline conditions, adding that the only other chemicals detected were ethanol (alcohol) and isopropyl alcohol. “This study, although conducted under very high exposure conditions in a small, non-ventilated vape shop with many employees and customers vaping and clouds of vapor visible, did not document any dangerous levels of exposure to any hazardous chemical. Nicotine exposure was essentially non-existent. Formaldehyde exposure was no different than in many indoor and outdoor environments at baseline. Acetone, acetoin, other aldehydes, toluene, benzene, and xylene were not detected. Chemicals that have been associated with “popcorn lung” were also not detected by the standard method.” stated Siegel.
No justification for governments to ban vaping
“This study adds to the evidence that under real-life conditions, ‘secondhand vaping’ does not appear to pose any significant health risks.” concluded the public health expert. He added that whilst he himself has been behind many of the smoking bans that took place, based on this current evidence he fails to see a reason as to why governments should ban vaping in public spaces. “With regards to vaping, I just don’t see any reasonable evidence at this time that it poses any significant health hazard to bystanders.”

There is an increasingly large amount valid research to support vaping as a safer alternative to smoking cigarettes and there is a lot of propaganda still being spread based on old and flawed studies.  The propaganda is being spread largely by people who are either ignorant to the fact they are citing flawed studies or by people who would rather see smokers continue to smoke traditional cigarettes because of the tax money it generates.
Asking on a vape forum whether ecigs are dangerous to your health or not is probably not the best place to get a fair answer to that, though.  The vast majority of us, (and by vast majority, I would guess better than 99% of us on this particular forum), started vaping to quit smoking and we will tell you all day long vaping is safer than smoking.  We will tell you that because we have seen firsthand how it has helped most of us.

@Tam is correct.  The Kanger mini boxes have a spring-loaded pin, but it doesn't take much for them to get gummed-up from leaking juice or dirt.  Once they are "sticky", they won't spring back into proper position to make contact with the tank, especially if the tank's center pin is short.  Remove the battery to prevent shorts, and then lift the center pin using tweezers or gently "pry" it up using a small screwdriver wedged into it from the side.  It only takes a tiny bit to make contact again, so don't try to pull it all the way out

Get an itaste vv 3. It's not any bigger than an ego battery, variable volts and watts and can be gotten in that price range. It is ego and 510 threaded so just about any topper will fit.

Hubby and I took our blood pressure at home a week ago.... While my BP has ALWAYS been good, it was my resting heart rate that I've been worried about. Last time I took it on our machine, it was over 100. I was still a smoker. Last week, when we did it, my resting heart rate was.... (Drum roll please) 61! MAJOR freaking difference.
Hubby's blood pressure (even on meds) has always been on the high side, and the time before he stopped smoking it was like in the 140s/90s, heart rate high like mine in the low 100s.
Stop smoking, a month after he started vaping.... BP 119/79 heart rate 65.
Absolutely NOTHING else changed. Our diet has remained consistent. Our lifestyles have remained the same EXCEPT the fact that we stopped smoking and started vaping.

Take that, big tobacco and big pharm!

I figured out if sitting by my wood stove I can stealth vape successfully, at my age I'm stealth vaping ... its crazy I know but someone doesn't like the clouds and smelling all the fruity stuff. (He's Not convinced yet that second hand vapor doesn't cause issues).
last night my dog and I sat by the wood stove and it worked.. she loves the smell and I could Vape in peace... which was nice she used to smack my analog out of my hand, sneeze and grab my pack, run outside & shred them.
    Smart dogs were a pain!
    Now we are all happy!

guitardoc64 reacted to bcartervol98 in What's a good nicotine level?
One piece of advice to give is do nto put pressure on yourself to "drop down". Many like myself, my wife, and a lot of people on here never have any intention of dropping down. I will most likely be vaping 18mg minimum the rest of my life. I doubt my wife will ever drop from 24mg. I like nicotine like many like caffeine and both have very similar chemical compositions. Again it bears saying:

NICOTINE IS NOT THE ENEMY TOBACCO AND ALL THE CHEMICALS AND CARCINOGENS ARE

While I applaud anyone that wants to get to 0 nic or drop levels gradually for their successes, there are a lot of noobs on here that need to realize that dropping in nicotine is not a requirement to be considered successful. Just my two cents again. It seems there is an epidemic of people that think everyones goal is to eventually get to 0 nic and in reality most just want to stay off analogs.

guitardoc64 reacted to Tam in What's a good nicotine level?
More nic will create a stronger throat hit, I've not seen much affect on flavor, personally. You could always go with an extra shot of flavor if you find the increased nic to decrease flavor too much.

As a former pack a day smoker I started with 24 mg of nic to get completely off the analogs. Once I no longer craved them I went down to 18 for a very short while and now I'm mostly at 12 -- sometimes 6 mg. It's going to take a little time but you'll get there.
