  1. Hi, welcome to the Vapor Talk Forum! Nice to have you! If you are looking at an all-day battery, most of us will recommend an eGo preferably manufactured by Joye. Depending upon how much you will vape, the eGo battery will last anywhere from 6-12 hours between charges. The eGo uses 510 atomizers. I suggest ordering a kit where you will receive two batteries, two atomizers, and the chargers, either a USB or wall charger. You will want to purchase at least a 10ml bottle of e-liquid to start to refill the pre-filled cartridges that come with the unit. Or you direct dip (e-liquid is applied directly into the atomizer) or purchase cartomizers which have an atomizer (heating coil) and filler in one. There are vendors who claim that a pre-filled cartridge is equivalent to so many analogs (cigarettes). This really is not true. It depends on how much you will be vaping. I hope this helps a bit. There are How Do I videos on this forum, and many e-cigarette videos online. Don't hesitate to ask questions here. We are only willing to help you along the way!
  2. Hmmmm...I've heard that most batteries come 80% charged. I may be totally unaware of the specifics of your pv, but it seems to me it that the battery should have charged up in about two hours. It's possible that you have a bad battery. Hopefully others will have a better answer for you. Hope you got the cone disassembled?
  3. Hi Dude, I'm sure the vapers who use an eGo xl will chime in eventually. I can't help you there. Regarding your charging battery, I would say a too hot battery is not normal. I've been charging 510 and eGo batteries for several months now, and have never noticed that they are too hot. Are you getting an odor of any kind? Idk, by this time I hope it has worked out for you. Let us know otherwise, tho.
  4. Uma, which grown-up bumper car were you on?
  5. Lol! I wonder how many rolls and throws this guy does on a shift?
  6. Hi, well maybe 'they've arrived' but I don't think so, not yet... http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/ufo_over_chelsea_experts_say_its_xY3x9tMs5zLAMjms0iQZ6J (the comments below the article are funny)
  7. Hi, welcome to the Vapor Talk Forum! It is more than possible that 24mg of nic is too high for you. A cartomizer can be harsher on the throat than using a regular atomizer with filler or if you are direct dipping with an atty and empty cartridge. I started out using 24 mg. The first couple of days I coughed and felt a little lightheaded. I haven't really coughed since then. There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to vaping. Depending upon what unit you purchased, I'd try to give it some time. In the meantime you might want to order a lower nic strength, 18 or 16mgs. Hang in tho, it will get better...way better than smoking analogs!
  8. Hi, as others have noted, there is a bit of a learning curve associated with vaping. Long, slow inhales are best. I agree that vaping is not really like smoking an analog. Once you become acclimated to using your pv, all of this will become second nature. We all started where you are. Gluck!
  9. Hi, You cannot beat the convenience of a cartomizer! No muss or fuss. I started out not liking them all that much as the taste was harsher compared to direct dipping into a regular 510 atty. When I get past the initial 'break-in' period of a carto, the taste and TH is great. There are a lot of opinions as to how long to use a carto. Some reuse and clean them up for a long time. I find that after three or so days, sometimes even less, a carto starts to taste stale and harsh. If you blow out any excess e-liquid from a re-fill, the liquid is pretty brown-looking. The element that heats the juice in the carto starts to burn the filler material inside. Hopefully there will be advances in the technology of a carto, but for the time being, they are great when you're traveling and on-the-go.
  10. Hi, it seems like you can purchase the eGo for less from the States. As for e-liquid you might want to start out at the Vapor Talk Store (link is at the top of this page). If I or someone else hasn't mentioned it there is a How Do I section that covers the basics of vaping, direct dipping, filling a cartomizer which you may want to try when you get settled in with your eGo. VG - vegetable glycerin or PG - propylene glycol is the e-liquid base to which nicotine extract is added. Many will say that VG produces more vapor with less flavor while PG has less vapor, more flavor. I vape all PG and I get lots of vapor. Some of us complain that VG is thick and can gum up an atomizer before its time. It really will boil down to preference. If you can budget it, try both or you can try a mix of VG/PG like 80PG/20VG. The Suppliers link is also at the top with a variety of vendors who sell e-liquid. Hope this helps. Gluck!
  11. Congratulations to you too! Isn't vaping wonderful?!?
  12. I wish I could offer something concrete and helpful other than what has already been posted. This is the look of things to come. I can't get into the mind of the FDA but they probably realize that you can't do much about it. It really sux. I also suggest very small orders. Don't let the beast get to you!
  13. Hi, this must be frustrating. Yesterday, Monday was a non-mailing day as you probably know. If it wasn't mailed Priority mail, it might take an extra day becuz of that. I know nothing about Liberty Flights, but I've had stuff held up too and there was no holiday going on. My advice for the future, if you can budget is stock up as much as you can for when stuff like this happens. Gluck!
  14. Hi, welcome to the Vapor Talk Forum! The Janty/Joye eGo are one in the same. Joye is the manufacturer of the Janty technology. I would be suspect of your supplier labeling an eGo a "happy eGo". It could well be a knock off of some sort. I recommend that you order from a supplier that sells the Joye eGo. You can go right to the Janty website and order as well. The only other item as owutaqt has mentioned is e-liquid. Your starter kit will most likely come with 5 pre-filled cartridges, but you will want to refill them as you go along. Many manufacturers make claims that a cartridge equates to a certain number of analogs. This is usually untrue info. As you go along you will want to purchase extra atomizers, perhaps cartomizers, and extra batteries. You may gain a lot of insight by viewing the videos in the "How Do I" section of the forum. Gluck and don't hesitate to ask questions!
  15. Hi, I felt the same excitement when I hit the one month marker! Actually I felt excited the day after I started vaping and had my last analog over four months ago! It really was no small miracle for me. Congratulations! The days and months do pass by!

    Smell?

Hi, I don't smell vapor so I'm thinking, tho I could be wrong, that no one else does. At least no one I know has made any comments, so far! I "stealth" vape discreetly on the subways here in NYC. My hand covers my eGo in a way that the average person doesn't really know what I have in my hand. I could be chewing on a pen for all they can see. Last week for the first time on the train, someone saw 'something' out of the corner of his eye. When he looked, the vapor was gone! It's weird now to be sitting next to someone who smokes analogs. That is a scent and a-half!
  17. I have had the sense of deja vu many, many times. I think a lot of people have had the experience at one time or another. I agree that it's a strange feeling. While I'm not at all an expert on the subject, I subscribe to Jolly's explanation. It's neuroscience. It is the firing of mirror neurons, and memory mapping. Or as Jeff says, Morpheus detected a flaw in reality!

    Diacetyl

Is Diacetyl yet another thumbs up to the FDA? I looked it up and I guess I want always to put things into perspective. I eat butter. I love butter! Am I going to stop eating butter? No, I will never stop eating butter! Did I ingest all kinds of toxic and known carcinogens when I smoked analogs? Yep. I guess it has to do with an individual's comfort level. If we only knew half of the things that are in the marketplace that are essentially harmful to our bodies, idk, I'd go pretty nuts. Gtk it's not in VT e-liquid tho!
  19. Hi again, I just answered your other post on the Joye 510. I've never had any vaping related complications such as a sore tongue. I get a mouth full of juice every once in a while if I overfill a carto or add too much e-liquid to the atomizer wick when I direct dip. I do wipe out the drip tip often because of the condensation that forms on the inside of the dtip becuz I taste it. I don't believe a sore tongue would have anything to do with VG or PG except there is a small percentage of the population who may be allergic to PG. It's hard to say in your situation however, keeping the drip tip clean is good advice. I have a paper towel or kleenex near me all the time. Gluck.
