  1. As for the last two posts. from supposed newbies? Well done, grasshoppers.
  2. Delivery device seems to be the number one problem with vaping. Many options work for different vapors, but not one clear cut champion. Battery and juice is the easy part; what delivers that juice is the variable. Tanks, carto's, atty's? I keep them all on hand, but wish they would come up with one break through delivery device. Has not happened yet...at least for me.
  3. Same here, with two year anniversary coming Feb 11, 2012 Quit by vaping FIRST in the high crave periods and told myself to go ahead and have that analog. After a few days. did not want the analog afterward. Looking back, I still marvel at how easy it was.
  4. Amy Sands has to get my vote, for the simple reason the FDA and White House are one in the same, and automatically qualify for year around BH awards. Why give them another one as that trophy case would seem plenty full by now? So we go from the expected, to the outright lie from Miss Sand's unbelievable leap off the deep end. Truth meter being a limit of 10....how did she squeeze out 11?
  5. Broke in with Halo Freedom and was lucky to hit a quality vendor out of the gate. Tried all their juices and the only one I purchase now is Tribecca and Menthol Ice. Vermillion River is the best vanilla tobacco (for me) and all day vape, but you must like their base as it contains a very pronounced taste. I keep a bottle of some type of cinnamon on hand all the time. Saved many a lesser juice by mixing in a little red hot.
  6. You will hit dead spots, no matter what the mix. I keep a bottle of red hots and menthol around here for those times. Vanilla is one of my favorites and it's difficult to find one that doesn't clog things up a bit. Sounds like your 60/40 will work, but must agree with all previous posters, PG burns cleaner and gives off better flavor. Plumes of vapor (more VG) has never mattered to me. Flavor does start to go away as you mentioned and you may find the same thing we had with analogs......peak times are after meals, morning, and good cup of coffee. The nasty's smoked in between were just the nicotine habit and craving. The beauty of vaping is the aforementioned spice vape or menthols to bridge the gap. Ya gotta love it.......
  7. Good advice. Alcohol does work but I've found no benefit in boiling and using 90%. One or the other works fine. Draggaa.....if you have an Ego batt, the 510 connection is the same for carts. Seriously, this would be a necessary step while you fiddle with the C atty. Glad your learning and liking it, but being a new vape person? I'd cover my back with some carts. JMHO PM me if you wish and I'll send you out a couple for trying. I may even have a bottle of juice here to send with it. We want you to succeed...........
  8. I hear ya DV and it's just an old half jock/half hippie from the 70's. Looking upon today? Perhaps not so bad a decade for growing up. Dragaa, not sure what your post means and excuse my lack of perception....but is the atty dead? Or are you just getting the plastic taste now, after you fixed the atty? These will run fine for an average of 2 weeks and then maintenance begins. Had one die on me and rotate the other four. Two are in service after cleaning, two are drying after cleaning. I clean and switch them out every week now. I do toss them into a LOW water boil (AFTER dry burn) for about 20 minutes. Soaking in vodka afterward does not seem to enhance the cleaning. The tank itself needs to either go metal in design, or increase flow. Think the plastic design allows for leaching....just as the plastic bottles do. Nic can be stubborn on plastic and it's a very small channel your running here. Good news? The plastic caps on the tanks wear out about the same time leaching begins, so it's time to toss it anyway. I fight the condensation in tank with a Q tip for this duration, but nothing like putting a new tank into service. Still enjoy this for what it does, and sometimes dislike it for what it doesn't do. I have found the LR runs very well on 3.7 mod device with ego adapter. I trust you have purchased some carto's while you play with the C atty?
  9. We're speaking here of tobacco. This should have the sweet, fruity, and desert vapors already hitting the back button, while scrambling for the exits. For the not so faint of heart, and true tobacco lovers...let's get on with it? It's no secret by now....this guy likes tobacco, and only offer reviews on what I know. Also no secret as to one of my favorite vendors in this regard, Vape the Rockies. Right up front? I am in contact on a regular basis with Fred over at VTR, and he does send me juices for opinion. Recently his supplier had changed (without notice) the ingredient for the proven and excellent Cavendish pipe blend; Captain Delight. Received an order following this change and alerted Fred of the downgrade. Good vendors will NOT sell a product in degradation, and this mix was immediately pulled by VTR. What he came up with for interim Cavendish is named Tobacco First Mate. Tested this on a 3.7 18500 mod with 306 atty, and it immediately grabs your attention. Chocolate note is prevalent on inhale, along with the signature and subtle VTR tobacco base. A wisp of dryness with Cavendish/vanilla undertone and average TH for this 60PG/40VG mix. Exhale is near the same (with possibly more of the vanilla) and plumes of vapor which is signature for Fred's juice. The best description I can relay would be.....think malted milk ball with tobacco undertone. The sweet top note of Captain Delight is missing here, but little brother carries through for Cavendish vape with a choco twist. Vape the Rockies juice is one of the most subtle and clean mixes out there. I've been vaping for near two years and this is for sure the cleanest stuff I've ever run through vape equipment. The atty eraser is a must order from here as well and pushes one through for free shipping. It works great for atties and would not be without it. Lets get it strait, given tester aspects? Did not become a tester, followed by purchase. Testing came after VTR became my primary top shelf juice and Cavendish quality began to disappear from the market due to change in supplier flavoring. Search for this flavor resulted in almost no one having it anymore. Title of this post may result in those who search for the real deal of yesterday and Fred got it back in short order while working toward the original Captain Delight. He need not work too hard......little brother is doing well in the interim. Vapestein is also here with some great reviews and near misses for It's Alive awards. Taste is subjective, but if I'm the Frankenstein, VTR gets at least two. Bourbon Sweet Leaf was the other juice tested, but more on that later and it's an excellent Bourbon mix Have fun and vape on....... http://vapetherockies.com/products/
  10. Was wondering about some of the other clear carts out there. Will have to break the OP statement and clarify with model specific 1.7 Ressurrector. Three times now I have run juice in either the black or stainless and followed with the same juice in the clears. The clear 1.7 definitely taste better, is cooler, and seems to hold more material for juice. Could even be a QC issue whereby the process is more delicate/precise given the plastic construction and they seem to be of better inner construction to the SS or Black. Spoke with CCV yesterday, and though he could not confirm? It was one of those now that you mention it type of things. Will be ordering more of the clears from now on. Tank is on the way and will be the first crack at that delivery device. But that's another thread.........
  11. Great to hear from all, and happy to know others are experiencing the same things. Do have the mega cone in three colors and use them most of the time....especially with the clears. Too funny, chose the clears for part of the 15 pack deal soon as they came available because the clear dual kept going and going while tasting better. Agree on the fragile tendency as well. One has to be more careful screwing them onto the threading. The glue does not hold as well against the plastic and over tightening could break it lose. Lost one in the very beginning by using too much force on the threading. Black and stainless 1.7's will be used slowly while the clears will be on the increase for purchase.....as Jay alluded to. Thanks for the feedback!
  12. Don't wish to make this a carto specific thread and would rather discuss the clear aspects in general. Received my first clear/plastic cartomiser in dual carto form. Ran one these with my favorite juice in a 3.7 18500 mod device and it seemed to last forever. Not to mention the obvious advantage for filling. Running clear 1.7 Ressurectors presently and they seem to run longer, hit cooler, and really liking the visual filler material for saturation confirmation. Love the stainless and black for looks on the Ego (and mods) but for all practical purpose, and sacrifice for looks......it seems the clear cartos perform better? Use the condom method for original fill on the black and stainless, and even with repeated condom fills, these do not perform as well as the clear ones filled with Luer Cap bottle. I think the filler is better on the clears and the plastic creates a nicer/cooler draw. Any comments?
  13. Visual tells a lot, as OP suggests. After a while you can kinda tell. Great thing about the Boge 2.0....your not wasting a ton of juice to find out if it's good or not. Resurrector holds more juice, and when one of those is bad (very rare, as with the Boge) it's a shuckey darn moment for sure. Use them both and Boge almost always works great out of the box, though a slight reduction in quality has been noticed the past few orders. Nothing like a fill and soak....followed by shuckey darn. I have taken tweezers and pulled the filler to squeeze the juice back out. You get most of it back.
  14. Perhaps premature for calling it typical.......but Joye seems to run the Type B cylinder (2.5ml capacity) about a month after the Type A (1.0ml) Would not recommend the new C atty Type A as it holds around 1ml of juice. Would think Joye will release the 2.5ml capacity for the new C atty in the next few weeks. If so, this would seem the ticket for the OP scenario. Low maintenance and juice a plenty. Possible......
  15. Carts can be around 1.50 now and will have to admit "saving" them in the beginning. Time exposed the futility of this venture and I just toss them now. At most you will get another half life out of them, but they'll never be the same, all the while. That said.....if you hate the juice after couple of hours/half day/one day and wish to keep the carto for trying another juice? It is worth the time to rinse under hot water and blow them out. Rinse repeat, rinse repeat.....until juice is gone and water is clear. Boiling does a better job but any carto used for 2-3 days will not come back to make it worth the effort IMV. There is something to be said about rainy days and hard times. Could be wise to rinse and save a few choice ones. Just ensure they are completely dry before refilling, or you could end up......
  16. Dragaa. Your moving right up in posting and giving some nice feedback on the tank....and yes, I did allude to your observations in another post for C atty. The problem here is the tank itself IMO. Everything under the tank performs flawlessly and I've spent virtually no time messing with the lower components. Not sure what viscosity your running on juice, but the easy wick adjustment does come into play here. If your getting juice into the "seat" which holds the spike? Your unit is feeding too fast and wick needs pushed up in the spike. Seems your doing everything right but we're at the mercy of a tank system that does not allow consistent flow to the spike itself. One thing worth noting......draw very easy on this unit. Sharp or hard draws will increase the clog syndrome you mention. Going to try something soon and will be punching a hole in the tank right above the bubble line, and near the lower baffle (under the juice fill level when right side up) and see if this tank will feed the spike better. Darn. They are so close but need to change the tank itself. Thanks for the feedback and stay the course.
  17. http://vapetherockies.com/products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=20 Use it all the time. Have one tank atty filled with this for testing juices. Works great but eventually will have to dry burn.
  18. Necessary update on Ego C Couple of weeks in and this device remains one tick away from total recommendation, due to the juice tank itself. The usual suspects have reared their heads again and I think it time to pinpoint the problem with this A atty delivery. It's not the atty, it's not the feed (more on that later) and it's not the wick. The problem with this device rest squarely with the tank itself, and vacuum....or lack thereof. This is why juice is sometimes mutated and draw becomes tight. It simply does not have enough open air feed from the tank itself. This is why heavy or long draw vapor persons do not like this device IMHO. There's not enough draw (or air) getting through this closed system. Sorry if it seems maverick is dominating this thread, but feel it necessary to report the findings. It's one man's opinion, but here's the breakdown as I see it: Light/Low ml per day vapors: Very nice device and possibly a good purchase. Recommend Medium vapors: Great for stealth and back up pocket device (I'll have a couple for this) Recommend Heavy vapors: Not good. It will not deliver the steady and strong hit for longevity (mistake in purchase could be the result). Not recommended. Really don't think a new person can go wrong with this system and it's great for testing juices, light to moderate vaping, and overall improvements in design, which are prevalent. Others have suggested the feed is not fast enough but this feed problem could never reach conclusion until we have enough air draw to feed the atty. Direct drip onto the spike will produce a very nice hit and plumes of vapor. Direct drip onto the coil will do the same. However, once the tank is in place and restriction takes place......it's tight draw and muted flavor. Certainly enjoying this tank set up as we speak. However, when I want a really good hit and pure taste of juice, the 3.7 mod with carto is sitting here at the ready. One more step for Joye to take if they want to cover the heavy users. Vape on.....
  19. Hey....I have that less than stellar 510N. Replaced the switch, drilled vent holes, honed out the cap for Ego adapter acceptance; and one piece of junk turned into a nice 18500 mod. But your right, as it came in the box? Not good at all. The LavaTube does get my attention considering it is VV at the same price of a good 18500 mod. Think once the smoke has cleared and all results are in? It may drive the price of 3.7 mods down, while competition will dictate terms in the VV market as well. I stick with 3.7 due to simplicity and only wanting to buy one type of delivery device. Looking at some 3.7 mods now and wondering why I'd purchase when the Lava is offered for the same price? Preliminary reviews indicate this is well worth the money for all the features it holds while I happen to like the feature whereby it drops the voltage as necessary......whether it tells you it did, or not. Could not justify a Provari based on other needs.....but this changes the game.
  20. Just another view, and to agree with all posts on the matter? The plastic caps which come stock on the tank seem to work better and allow for more juice capacity. The silicone replacement caps seem best for longevity and definite for leaking issues. If I had an unlimited supply of either? I'd choose the plastic stock caps for the A atty.....silicone for the increased capacity type B atty.
  21. Yes sir. After you rinse/flush them in hot water (I personally boil mine after dry burns) but your just washing out the flakes of crust that are floating around in your juice, if this is indeed the problem. If you have gas furnace heat and forced air registers? Just place the blown out atty in a glass vessel and set it right on the register. I've also placed them into some rolled up socks and let them tumble in the dryer on low heat for 20 minutes or so. Others will have methods they use but the slow drying over the heat source register is my preferred method. Keep in mind, the atty must be dry before you fire it up again or it may pop the coil. You do have time during this process to get a 5 pack of Boge carts while you mess with the atties. Since your in Maryland? Might I suggest vaporsetc for a quick ship to your location. LR Boge cartos. If you have the funds, grab a sample bottle of Red Box. Not sure I can post this info here, but that's my suggestion. Your Ego batts will work awesome with these cartos
  22. Does seem to be a mystery but I agree...try another juice if you have it, and contact the vendor. One other possible is the dry burn has loosened the residue on the coil and is floating around in the surrounding cup. The new juice you are dripping is mixing with this nasty flaking off the dry burned coil. If the above suggestion produces no result.....I would rinse them out real good under hot water, blow them out, and if your running heat up there in Maryland?......place them in a shot glass or similar vessel and stick them on the register for at least 24 hours. If you have three of them and their all doing the same thing, I'd perform this on at least one of them now. Do you have carto's to get by until the process can be completed?
  23. Possible your old peppermint has surrounded the atty coil and the new juice is sitting on top of that old juice. When the coil heats up, it's burning whatever is close to the wire and only barely heating the new juice....causing a half baked taste (due to lack of direct heat) on your new stuff. Sounds like dry burn is in order. Are you tasting any of the peppermint?
  24. Great. Sounds like a good experience all around and glad to hear other accolades. Forum seems very satisfied with the product received. Always good to read confirmed endorsements.
  25. Juice will burn a bit faster in the LR atty, and a bit hotter. For the most part, your cleaner/clear juices will hold down maintenance much better than the darker/sugar types. I have a preference for clean tobacco vapes (as all day juices) and tend to place change of pace darker juices in cartos. Unfortunately, Joye has one last thing to do for making the perfect system to date; change the tank design to reduce condensation, but I would not want that task for myself. I keep a 1.00 pack of tissues handy when dealing with the tank system and it's a constant wiping down of parts when loading up juice. You'll learn to do it in a flash. There's a plethora of vendors out there who would love to have you try their juice. I would personally decide on a "type". Tobacco based? Fruity? Nutty? Chocolate cream pie? Many will offer little sample bottles in a 5 pack of 3ml or so each. One of the top favorites is RY4 (tobacco, caramel, vanilla) and one would think this a good place to start if you find it in a sample pack. You may get lucky and find one right off the bat, or have fun with the search, which may take a while. Don't want to advertise in this thread in regard to vendors....but feel free to PM me with any questions on juice, or begin a new thread for suggestions? Everyone's here to help, and if your not liking the juice you have now, just wait until you find one you DO like. It will be a fine day indeed. Congrats on your new start.
