  1. Ooh some Cosmic Energy .. nice! Welcome to VT I think either option is an excellent start for you. Honestly, I don't think there's one person here who can say they didn't aim to replicate that "real cig" feel when they first started vaping. Most of, if not all, felt exactly the same way and for all the same reasons. Again, if you opt for the Volt because it looks more like a real cigarette in size and shape then it is a good choice. The goal is to make the transition as smoothly as possible. That being said here are some things to consider that we have discovered by initially opting for the "mini" style e-cig such as the Volt: 1. Battery life .. these do not last very long. 2. Versatility .. most of us have needed to fine tune our vaping setup and the minis offer little room for versatility; the various styles and differences in atomizers and other accessories .. there are so many to look forward to! A fine example is that most of us end up preferring the "low resistance" atomizers or cartomizers which you should not use on small batteries as a safety precaution. 3. Vaping vs Smoking .. even a small style battery like this feels awkward when held like a cigarette. While it's not at all heavy, it's still heavier than a traditional cigarette. Whether you opt for an auto or manual battery it is unlikely you will hold it the same or rest it from your lips like you may with a cigarette. 4. Comfort .. once graduating to an eGo you realize it's nowhere near as large as you think it will be and it's actually a lot more comfy than the mini style batteries to hold (remember, you are likely to hold it differently - NOT like a traditional cig). My first purchase consisted of two different mini models (one with a PCC). I vaped them for about two weeks before I bought an eGo. That was almost a year and half ago now and I haven't looked back. The eGo is just as attractive as the mini but I can do so much more with it. I still love the eGo to this day and use it daily, all day. There isn't as much help problem solving issues with the smaller batteries because there are so many models but so few experienced users. The eGo is widely recognized and used by the vast community of vapers and you can always find help trouble shooting issues you may experience. The Volt is very attractive and is more than likely just what you need to get away from smoking cigarettes. At the end of the day, your lungs will thank you for it
  2. Ah I clicked on that .. not sure what I was looking for as it was right under my nose! Thanks, Uma.
  3. I must be missing something. I'm looking for the place to cast a vote but am not finding it.
  4. This is another excellent read courtesy of Joe2003 .. thanks again Joe Robert A. Hall is the actor who plays the coroner on CSI if you watch that show. He also is a Marine Vietnam War veteran. This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in the United States of America . "I'm 63 and I'm Tired" by Robert A. Hall I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked hard since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money. I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe, the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Christian people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela .... I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to. I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois. I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government. Like Bill Cosby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's fabulous and everything he says makes sense! Why doesn't someone convince HIM to run! I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance. I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough. I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think *** people choose to be ***, but I #@*# sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana. I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need. I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are? Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear. I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. Thinking people know what they believe in and don't change their deeply held beliefs just to be bipartisan. I live in Illinois, where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet. I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor. Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing. I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems. Yes, I'm tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter. Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate.
  5. This was sent to me from joe2003 (thank you, Joe) and I thought you all might appreciate it: WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN, GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH? 'My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed. Since Congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete. This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq . This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning. Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short.. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there. The other list contains every one not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening. Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. THEN EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER It'll GO TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM SO IT WONT GO BROKE IN 20 YEARS. The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption. Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France ... In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France or maybe China . I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France and Russia . Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York. A special note to our neighbors: Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not ticking us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. Its president and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple thousand extra tanks and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security. Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now. We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska -which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, 'darn tootin.' Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America . It is time to eliminate homelessness in America . To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget. To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic. God bless America ... Thank you and good night.'
  6. More than just a thought .. there are quite a few unscrupulous suppliers that have [very easily with virtually no effort] marked their "eGo" and "510" kits as "genuine Joye" and were full of s**t. Remember that this industry isn't regulated yet. Caveat emptor. It's your job as a consumer to beware. Again, a genuine Joye eGo is worth every penny of it's full retail price.
  7. I had just turned 35 when I began vaping. (that was almost 1 1/2 years ago) So much for us all being age conscientious!
  8. My best bits of advice would be to cut yourself and vaping some slack. What's good for us usually requires more work, however it can be a VERY VERY fun hobby. You are off to a really good start but be patient with flavors as well as your setup. I love to direct drip, it's just about the only way I vape and I think it's awesome that you want to give it a go. Keep your mind open though .. you may encounter issues with flavor or style of vaping. ALWAYS remember that there is, without a doubt, an solution to any issue or setback you may have and this forum is the place to come for the remedy. Everyone here vapes a little bit differently based on their needs and can surely help you to figure out what will work best for you. Also, most of us have from time to time thought of cigs .. vape through those moments and you'll see it's pretty easy. It's nothing at all like quitting cold turkey and trying to distract yourself from those thoughts.
  9. I voted yes because it would be cool if that's something he's considering. That being said, I love Mark's Wood just the way it is and am always touched by his hard work and kind generosity. Mark
  10. When I launched the first link my WoT went wonky! See here: http://tinyurl.com/3j2uzk7 As for the second link, I don't know much about these "affiliate programs" but that's what it is. If you look closely at the image of their ego kit you'll see "Heaven's Gifts" watermarked. You might want to look into that. I'm leary to believe it's a genuine ego kit though @ $38.99. It shows a retail of 79.99 and the ego is worth every penny of that so why mark it down to half cost?? I dunno, I see red flags.
  11. Caramel Cream & Cake Batter .. I guess those fit best under "dessert" vapes.
  12. LoL great story! Oh man the lengths we'll go to .. I wonder if an ego would've made it through the space?
  13. I tend to chain vape which does cause the atty to remain very hot for long periods of time if I don't somehow cool it. What I do is suck air through, without firing the battery. This works very well, free of charge and requires nothing extra. It will also help to pull some of the pooled juice back up into the atty for vaping .. yea
  14. that's old skool txting right thea! pagers circa 1990 ftw!
  15. Aww Uma .. yes I was referring to the OP
  16. I just have to interject that @ 1100mahs it must not be an eGo and someone mentioned their batteries dying after 2 wks .. also not eGos. Can't go wrong with GENUINE eGos. Might have to spend $2 more, but so worth it months or even a year or so later.
  17. Did you change atomizers? The varying amounts of resistance that atomizers can come in can greatly affect vapor production. Also, these new flavors you ordered - all 30 of them, do they contain 40% VG? VG really does cut down on throat hit as it creates a moister, cooler vapor. PG vapes warmer and is less moist; it also tends to carry flavor better than VG and is less sweet. Another thing to remember is nicotine itself. natural vs synthetic and also different manufacturers. Nicotine can play a huge part in TH. The nicotine in your juice, particularly since you are now using a different liquid, may be a part of why you're not experiencing that satisfying TH. You're not an idiot. If you are, then so are we all because we've all been there. We've all learned about how to finely tune our vaping experience to our own individual preference but it did not happen overnight and it did not happen without some help along the way. Good luck with your juice hunt - You'll get there
  18. Aloha! Welcome to vaping and VT An eGo to start with and you can't go wrong. I use an eGo passthrough (branded eGo-T 1000mah passthrough) because I can vape it while it's plugged in and simply unplug it with a full (or near to) charge and just go when I need to head out the door. With a simple USB car adapter (which you may already have) you could easily vape plugged in and not have to worry about diminishing battery charge. I, like Nana, have not tried the tanks because I love direct dripping but I agree that the tank would probably be most ideal. If you decide to use the tank be sure to check out youtube for videos that will instruct you on how to properly fill and maintain your specific tank. Also, if you go with tanks vs direct dripping you probably won't have much need for additional attys up front. Good luck with vaping and stay safe out there on the road!
  19. If your batteries or passthrough are 510s or similiar stick-type batteries, you should not use low-resistance attys/cartos with them; doing so can be dangerous. There is an eGo passthrough that you can vape while charging then unplug and take with you and voila! it's charged. These can be used with low-resistance (LR) attys/cartos.
