  1. By "technique" I meant the way you use your device, at least the way I find myself using mine ...... I usually dampen my lips with my tongue before taking a draw. That'll cause chapped lips. If you enjoy vaping more than stinkies, and you can vape more where you can't smoke, you're probably hitting it more, licking your lips more, causing chapped lips. So, yeah, vapn' is causing chapped lips .... indirectly. But ...... having chapped lips for a little while is nowhere as bad as clogging up your lungs, is easier to avoid, and much less costly to correct. Keep a Chap Stick handy. As to flavors, you're on your own there. I have some pretty standard and basic flavor favorites I mix myself. If you're fortunate enough to be in an area where a shop has tasters, try them all till you hit ones you like. You might decide to mix your own, too, as you progress. The "tongue thing" ..... probably refering to vapor's tongue. That's where everything tastes like crap. There'll come a time, maybe, where everything you vape tastes like soap. Shouldn't last long (my experience with it didn't last more than 1/2 a day), but sure can be annoying.
  2. I would think chapped lips are a result of your vaping technique rather than from vaping, itself. And the cold, dry weather. If you're like most here and find vaping more enjoyable than smoking, you're probably licking your lips more often than normal every time you vape. Keep something like a Chap-Stik handy and enjoy being off cigs while waiting for mo betta weather. And, yes, it'll go away.
  3. Way to go!! Come April, I expect to join the 1 Year Without Stinking Up My House, Car, Everything Else, Saving Money, Improving My Health Club.
  4. Don't know about the Greensmokes brand, but will say anything to help leave the tobacco ones behind is going to be better for you. In time, I wouldn't be surprisd to hear you've switched to one of the entry-level battery and tank systems. You'll find many more choices available as to taste/flavors, probably less costly and more convenient than searching out and buying a certain prefilled carto, and, provided you have someone in your area capable, you can have your flavors custom tailored to your taste/hit/nic level preferences. As to switching being a big problem, all you have to do is figure out for yourself which is better for you. Since you've decided to try "the other side", I assume you've already figured it out. Now all you need do is stick with it. I smoked a pack+ for 50 + years. Got my first e-cig, put down the stinkies the same day and haven't looked back for over 8 months. If I can do it, you can too. Tell yourself you're setting a good example for everyone else. Afterall, "monkey see, monkey do" works both ways. Who knows, you just might convert some of those around you. Plus, I'm sure your CO would be happy about less cig butts laying around. Police Call was always a pain. Oh yeah, welcome to VT. Plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks here to offer support and advice.
  5. Methinks I'd be burn'n my printer up printing every real study to the contrary I could find and march my butt into the principal's office and paper her/his desk.
  6. I use Efferdent and/or Polident for tank and coil cleanup.
  7. Questions do get answered eventually. Some people here actually have a life other than monitoring VT. If you're referring to the previous question directed to Spydre, maybe she's got something more pressing that needs taking care of.
  8. As I recall, there's a small plastic "baby" figure baked into the cake somewhere. The one "lucky" enough to get the piece with the baby ...... and not choke to death ....... will have good fortune for the rest of the year .... or something like that.

  10. As many as I can show it to, that's how many. There's not much worse than a bunch of ignorant self-important, power-hungry beaurocrats.
  11. For something simple and easy the EVOD tanks fit eGo batt's and so will Kanger ProTank Mini. They both use the same replaceable coil, so also get a few extra coils. And you might want to think about having a spare battery on hand.
  12. Learn DIY'ing and reuse them. It's really not rocket science.
  13. Take a trip to any fabric store or fabric department and find a ball of 100% cotton yarn. Already twisted up in a uniform size and ready to go. I use only 2 of the 4 strands to replace the silica wicks. Figure out how many strands work best for you.
  14. I do not want to smoke a synthetic long chain molecule, might as well be back on cigs! What?!! You can't be serious. I also do not smoke fruit, pie, candy or any other BS flavors. I smoked tobacco, non-menthol straight tobacco. Well, just how long have you been vap'n?
  15. Piece of junk stupid computer wouldn't let me go back and edit, so ......... as to vapn', that'll take it's own course. As long as I don't go back to them there nasty coffin nails, everything'll be just peachy. After 8 months fo doing without them I don't expect that'll happen.
  16. 2014 New Years' Resolution ..... To not make any more resolutions. If I wanted to start/stop/finish/redo/ anything I'd already have it under control ....... or forgotten about it.
  17. U didn't list "all the suppliers", so this may be a bit redundant, but Wizard Labs offers the P/S flavor. Don't care for it, myself, but was included in one of my orders from them as a "thanks for ordering" sample gift bottle. Very nice folks to deal with, BTW.
  18. Patricia, Where in Ga are you? Just curious - spent 35 years in Savannah.
  19. I don't use a KPT, so I can't be absolutely certain, but the owner of the vape shop I go to has had me drill a couple holes in the adaptor cone of the KPT. If you're using an adaptor cone to fit the eGo batt, maybe that will increase your airflow. Looking at pictures of the KPT, I see a small hole on the side of the screw-in base. Possibly enlarging that hole might increase airflow a bit. You don't want to make a huge hole, so taking it to a jeweler might be best. Option 2 - could it be a clogged coil?
  20. Welcome aboard, Paul ..... from a 50+ year smoker, too. No need to start with anything fancy. You can always upgrade your equipment as you progress. I started with a simple eGo setup with a CE4 tank which worked quite well for me to leave the stinkies behind. Since then I've gotten a larger capacity battery and an EVOD tank and that's where I've stayed for over 8 months. For my purposes, I didn't see the need to get fancy. The setup I'm using is pretty inexpencive, yet effective for me. My advice would be to start simple, learn your flavor preferences, your PC/VG mix preferences and go from there once you've gotten a pretty good handle on vaping. Vaping isn't rocket science, but you do need to get tuned into your personal preferrences before dropping a lot of dollars on equipment. Anything you want to know, just ask. There's plenty of friendly, experienced and knowledgeable people here willing to help. Just my opinion ..... Oh yeah - forgot ....... I highly reccommend starting with 2 batt's (additional tanks optional but reccommended, too). It's a real b**** trying to leave the stinkies behind with a used-up batt. A second one with a fresh charge in your pocket sure comes in handy.
  21. This is my go-to guy ... http://shop.yourtobaccosource.com/ Everything I've bought from his shop has been quite good.. Last time I was in, he was working on expanding his recipe book to over 800 mixes.
  22. Lots of stuff available for lots of different tastes and opinions. What you think is "best" today could very well be different next week as your vaping journey progresses. For me, the simple eGo type batt with EVOD tank has served me quite well for 8+ months. In other words, what's "best" is up to you. Opinions are like noses ..... pretty much everyone's got one.
  23. I agree with joe. And, yeah, I'm one, too.
  24. Which brings up another point ....... I've been told that "high quality rolling tobacco" isn't anywhere near as harmful as a manufactured cigarette is with all the chemicals/spider&roach legs/sawdust/floor sweeps and whatever else goes into a "manufactured" smoke. I don't know fof certain, or have an opinion, just repeating what I've heard.
  25. Sitting here reading this foolishness, beginning to sound like a pissed-off Yosemite Sam.
