  1. USB uses 5v however they are capable of higher current than the usb port from your computer. If you notice the chargers you buy have different amperage ratings. tablet chargers are normally around 2A. Phone chargers around 1 Amp. The computer is normally limited to around 500mA. The heat is from I2R losses basically it's from resistance to current flow. When current flows it generates heat and that heat can cause the battery to explode. Most batteries have shut offs for overcurrent. so if your not using a charger with overcurrent protection (the joytechs have it) then your asking for this to happen. Rapid charging can cause gassing. Charging a battery past it's capacity can cause damage also. This is not limited to e cigg batteries. It's true of all batteries including cell phone and tablet batteries. There was a big ta do about the iphone batteries doing something similar a few years ago or maybe it was android i can't quite remember.
  2. Ya i got my stuff in less than a week. sadly the packaging was torn and i feared some had been "lost" but luckily is was all there.
  3. nope international is completely different however fasttech just send out a package to me via USPS lol so we'll see if mine gets nabbed.
  4. true, but they are wrong to do so if they tell you that you can not ship it. Go to the USPS website. do a lot of digging and you will see that li-ion can be shipped via the USPS but they have to be done a certain way. 1. if contacts are not encased you need to insulate with non conductive material. 2. put each one a seperate bag/wrap to prevent them from contacting each other. 3. package them tightly so that they will not be damaged in shipment. Pretty easy. It's also why i never actually go to the counter. I always just buy the box. make it up at home. buy the postage required for priority mail and ship by placing it in the boxes bin. True i spend a little more shipping that way but since it's going to family and not for profit i don't mind
  5. I always put non nic liquids into my checked baggage. That way my baggy only had nic liquids in it. I would put my batteries in my top zipper of my backpack that holds all my electronics. I only took my laptop and kindle out for inspection. I always left all my batteries, phones, other misc electronics in the bag. I have had my bag searched a few times but it was no big deal once they saw what it all was. It's also common for me to carry an extra pelican with my process meter in it and i would stuff some batteries in that too.
  6. I stand corrected on the TSA e cigg policy. However here is a cool little video about how e ciggs can set off smoke detectors >< http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um0hyMF59uk They used a photo detector and not an ion. So it depends on which you are around. I know on the offshore rigs i have been on they instruct you to keep your bathroom door closed while showering because the vapor from the shower will set off the smoke detectors.
  7. my kahlua is all gone...now i'm a sad puppy..loaded up strawberry fields from vape dudes to replace it. luckily i got a 30ml bottle of that
  8. ok...that made me choke. i was drinking water when i read it and started laughing too hard!
  9. patch, gum. lozenges............none of it works. they are horrid and really didn't curb my desires at all... vaping ....it's all roses!
  10. well remember it's illegal to vape on an airplane in the united states. The TSA has banned vaping on a plane. do it at your own risk. As far as going through security i never had problems in Houston, Dallas, Denver, Minn/St Paul, Dickinson ND. and i always vaped in the airport i just didn't vape HUGE clouds that would alarm somebody.
  11. back to a favorite Kahlua. it's been sitting in my cabinet for 2 months. nice and tasty. also working some spearamint, thug Juice, and apple pie tonight.
  12. even if the battery were to be made in the US the raw material comes from china. The us is sorely lacking in rare earths and other minerals. it's why asia is the leading battery manufacturers in the world. They have the supplies local to make them and cheap labor. If you wiki manganese dioxide you will see that most of the output is from australia, china, asia and portions of south america. There are no manganese outputs from the united states. Lithium reserves are found in Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Australia, and you guessed it China. China has all the resources for producing the Lithium Ion batteries.
  13. Mt. Baker sticky buns Elixir Liquid Kahlua Mt. Baker Amaretto Mt. Baker coffee liquer are what i'm working on today.
  14. welcome and enjoy your journey. The eliquid section has a what are you vaping topic. feel free to fill us in on your flavour journey!
  15. Bcart, your love of fuzion vapors has convinced me to give them a try after i go through some of the liquid i got stocked up atm. I can't justify atm buying more liquid when i've already had over 20 bottles come in the last week..i'll smoke the good stuffs i got ship off the stuff i don't like to family members (muhahahaha) and order them probably next month from fuzion
  16. Love that mahogany! beautiful wood. Mine is made out of maple but it's still in temporary stages. Will do final staining and finishing this weekend. then it will need a day or two to dry. I am sure i will find a good piece of wood that sings to me one of these days and make one really nice
  17. and how far were you able to push it? my eyes aren't very good (i can't even solder anymore). I would imagine i'd have to buy a desk magnifying assembly to be able to do what your doing lol.
  18. Just got my Mount Baker flavors in . Gotta say i think they are better than vape dudes and ecblends. I was able to vape them without steeping (though i am still steeping them ) and some of their flavors came out great. actually taste like the flavor advertised. to me that is a big plus. So clearo'd up right now i'm working Butterscotch tobacco, Caramel Coffee, and Ameretto from MT. Baker. i tasted the bananna cream pie and sticky buns and that was exactly what they tasted like! Looks like for my standard vaping i'll be ordering from them from now on. I'll still break down and try the hot spots i think but i'll limit them more to 10ml tasting bottles lol.
  19. BC if you have too many PV's and flavors working at once it's awfully convenient. Right now i have the temporary ones in my office and my bedroom next to my comfy chair so that i can grab whatever flavor i'm tempted by at the moment. considering i have gotten like 20 flavors in the mail in the last week with 10 more arriving tomorrow. i need the convenient storage at hand lol. the one i showed isn't the prettiest but it sure is functional
  20. i use all knockoffs. My original Joye branded ones quit working. 1 after 3 mos. 1 after 6 mos. While i lose a lot of my knockoffs i've not had one stop working . On a side note my knockoffs are very good quality knockoffs. I am thinking they may have come from the same factory just not branded with the joyetech brand. Edit: I kinda lied there. My evics are all joyetech branded with verified security numbers.
  21. lol after next weekend if i am not offshore i'll show you the one to hold all my ce5 tanks that have various fluids in them. I am setting it up to hold like 50 different tanks so that i never have to be without one of my flavors at hand On a side note i actually had to buy labels so that i can label my ce5's as to what is in them. edit: on a side not i actually posted a shaking schedule on my storage cabinet for my juices that are steeping so i don't accidentally forget to give them their daily shake! So i guess i'm a vape dork too
