Bump Everytime You Buy Something New
spydre replied to blucavvy's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Oh oh oh! I totally forgot about yesterday's vape mail! Well, okay, I didn't forgot about it, I just forgot to tell you guys. Yesterday, my nice post lady brought my latest shipment from Chi-Town Vapers - Honey Wood (which was all ready for vaping this morning, even though it was just made up Friday) and *dances around* Irish Creme (which hubby promptly stole from me and won't let me try it even though my tastebuds are crying out for something NEW). 30 ml bottles on both, 15 nic 50/50 for now. -
The Njoy King Review, Its that GOOD......And BAD
spydre replied to Atari's topic in e Cigarette Reviews
Wow, that's scary expensive. -
The thing is, you can do that, with the management's position, with ANY personal vaporizer. And it seems to me, generally what we get for the non cigarette looking ones hold more juice, generate more interest, and I'm getting juices from all over the country, including essentially, my own back yard. Even my nephew says most of the guys in his shop vape (not with the faux cigarettes) and it smells great in there (he's 20, he never smoked).

See? This is the reason I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on going all Davides. The replacement glass isn't on the market yet. And I drop sh...stuff. A lot. For well, an obvious reason, to me, and my family, and probably anyone who's read many of my posts. Other than the fact that I was klutz before the MS hit in my hands. The Pro Tank 2's you can at least get replacement glass for, even if they don't hold as much as the Davides.

You know, I started reading this thread thinking, "why the heck is this still alive?", especially after the paid reviewer got booted (haha, that was funny). And then I see people showing up saying how long their cartridges last. How many of us have tried the actual e-cigs with cartridges, or KNOW someone who has, and says the cartridges do NOT last as long as they are advertised to? Well, I guess they might if you picked it up, took 10 drags, and put it down again, but most of us don't do that, do we? Yeah, I'm a heavy vaper - heavier vaper than I was a smoker, and I laughed when I read that review that a cartridge was the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes. I smoked 2 packs a day.....if not more. Yeah, that cartridge would last me a real long time. :rolls eyes

Sounds like the center post may have gotten pushed down a bit?

I would try office max or office depot, but double check - if they have a desk similar in height as yours, make sure it fits underneath your desk,if it has arms, or the seat fits in the space under your desk (measure if you have to), and sit in a good long time in any position you tend to be at your desk in to make ENTIRELY SURE you're comfortable with it. Two years ago, a chair was purchased for my birthday to replace my computer chair that I liked perfectly fine. Well, I didn't like it, I still don't like it, and someone gave my old chair away. I've been asking for a new chair for two years.

I THINK that both the mini David and mini pro tank are 1.5, whereas evods are 2, which is probably why I'm not going to be getting any mini tanks.

I vape inside my own home, and around my kids - well, the one that's still at home. So far, no issues. Same with in the car. And my pet is always with us at home whether we are inside or outside, so of course, it's around the dog.

Davide Glassomizer and Mini Davide by Anyvape on sale now
spydre replied to Tam's topic in General Vaping Discussion
The problem is, I'm a massive klutz. I've already had a too close to call call where luckily, my lap happened to get between where the device was sitting and the floor. I know Pyrex is tough, but.... -
Okay, now I'm wondering something else, well, two something elses. 1) Even if a stick battery is turned off, is it possible for it to lose charge? At 9:30 last night, Battery 2 (my "good" battery) finished charging it. I turned it off and set it aside to charge another battery. Then at 9:30 this am, I picked it up, turned it on, and began using it. It died at 4:30 - so about what, 7 hours? Could it have lost some of it's charge from sitting, even when not turned on? OR conversely 2) is it possible that my vaping has increased sooo much over the last week that a battery that would last me between 12 and 18 hours would only last me 7 hours now? Most of the time today, I was messing with the computer or my phone, so I wasn't vaping as much as I would be, say, if I was just sitting watching TV (although I play with my phone then, too, lol). Battery "B" is giving me about the same amount of time in use - so is it just possible that we are are somehow already at the end of the stick batteries natural lives? I know for certain they haven't been charged anywhere near 300 times. Contacts on all stick batteries have been cleaned, contacts on the charger have been cleaned.

Davide Glassomizer and Mini Davide by Anyvape on sale now
spydre replied to Tam's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Also, has anyone ACTUALLY found replacement glass for the Davides online? I spent a good amount of time looking today, and didn't find any, even on the Anyvape site. Anyvape is also advertising colored glass for the Davides, but again, I couldn't find it, and again, on the anyvape site they mention it, but when you order Davides, not only do you have to place a minimum order of 6 (at a more expensive price than the US online vendors, too), but you don't get to pick the color of the glass, and I've found no spot where you can actually GET the colored glass tubes on their site, either. Can't find the replacement glass tubes anywhere, can't find the colored tubes anywhere, either, which is a disappointment, because if I could get colored tubes, I wouldn't have to order new drip tips for them so I could tell each one apart (some of my lighter juices look REMARKABLY similar). -
Davide Glassomizer and Mini Davide by Anyvape on sale now
spydre replied to Tam's topic in General Vaping Discussion
In this case, the draw definitely got way too airy, enough that a lot of times I didn't even use it - I filled my original, disposable clearomizers that came with the starter kit instead. And there are still days where I feel like the draw is too airy. I guess because I started out the first few hours of the day on an Evod, the last couple of hours on the Davide were definitely more airy, and I finally put it up. Luckily, my honey wood has steeped enough, and I can hit that. And to Proteus, who mentioned cartotanks - I would love to go the cartomizer route, however, filling could be a problem for me, with the small spaces. My MS hit my hands first, affecting my manual dexterity (which is why when filling my bcc's even I keep a paper towel across my lap, as I'm just as likely to get it in the center tube), plus my hand strength. Ideally, I would get needle nose bottle tips, but sometimes I don't even have the strength to squeeze some bottles in my right hand, and my aim with my left hand is suspect to begin with. I'm lucky that I haven't made a mess of things with my Davide more often than I have, even though with the size nose on the bottles we have currently, all I have to do is drip it into the holes, or even the tip of the nose of the bottle will fit in the holes. -
What B said. Sorry, had my reply typed out, and then hit the back button accidentally and it all went away. If you want something that holds more than the evod clearomizers you currently have, stay away from the minis, as they hold about 1/2 ml or more less than the evod bottom coil clearomizers do. I would jump straight to the Pro Tank 1 or 2, or the full sized Davide. That being said, the ProTanks should draw right around the same as the clearomizers you already have. The Davide isn't quite as tight, but I still love it. Since I started out with Evod clearomizers, I'm going to try the Pro Tank 2 out before totally replacing everything with glass, to figure out which one I like best.

Hiya and welcome. Also remember in addition to drinking water, vaping too much on an empty stomach will give you the same feeling as smoking too much on an empty stomach. Nausea, heart burn/gastric reflux, possible dizziness. Found that out the hard way the first night. But yeah, you are right about needing drink much more - my fluid intake now passes both of my sons, and possibly even hubby's. Tam is right on about changing flavors a couple of times during the day. Also, if you vape a cinnamon based flavor, that can numb your taste buds even to food. Hubby said that "all vapers go through it, it's vapers tongue", but I've not had that happen, and I mix it up during the day since a week after we started (a month ago).

How did my reply NOT get posted? I'm in, just let me know what to buy, where from, and when.

BTW, OP, I WISH my vaping kept my pain at bay!

Since hubby and I share a bank account, there's no hiding what I spend. But he's into vaping as well. What I'm going to spend on my APV, and the rest of the stuff I'm getting excluding juices I want to try (extra batteries, charger, Davides, extra coils) adds up to what he spent on his Provari alone. Not sure he likes my several flavors habit, either. But because we have a limited income, we always tell each other up front what we are buying (I don't think he actually TOLD me what the Provari cost). But we can always look at the bank account history online, so it's never a good idea to lie. But he's generally pretty good about snooping in the bank account to see what I spent for like birthday, and Christmas and stuff - either that or he lies to me - but as long as he did it AFTER I've given it to him, I'm okay with that, because I made HIM responsible for paying out on the bills, but we generally "get permission" before spending big chunks of money, and I'm usually with him when he goes to the vape store, lol.

gah, yes, thanks. Yesterday I think it was around 2 - 3 mls? It's less when I'm home and when I'm on the computer.

Okay, my Honey Wood made it today. Glad I got the 50/50 mix this time rather than the 25/75 mix that somehow got ordered last time. It's a nice medium, pretty color, but still needs to steep. I was planning on washing out one of previously used, smaller bottles, and mixing up a test batch of the honey wood with the Turkish honey tobacco blend, and see if I can figure out the right proportions to keep in a bottle all it's own. Though I wasn't planning on trying it until after it's steeped (still needs 3 - 5 days or so), is mixing it before it's steeped okay? I'm pretty sure I know the butter zone, just from my experimentation with how much I would put in the evod.

No webcam, and sometimes my skype gets funky when I install it. Are google hangouts voice?

Okay, I'm in, but some months I MAY not be able to participate, after this big purchase, some budget cutbacks may be happening, depends on how much our food bill goes down with the oldest away at college. Let me know what to order, when (didn't have time to read the last page, 'cause I'm supposed to be going to bed), and I'll be with ya.

Just be careful of how much you take in during two hour windows, as that's how long it takes for nicotine to be metabolized (non-menthol). Unless you are going through 2 ml in 2 hours, I wouldn't think you have anything to worry about. I was actually going to ask a very similar question tonight - how much is too much? I go through up to 4 mgs a day sometimes, except I'm pretty sure I went through more those first days my mom was in the hospital and it was very, very risky for her. I vape more in the car, or watching TV when I'm doing nothing with my hands, but at the computer or when I'm playing with my phone, my hands are doing something so I don't vape as much (which, smoking, I would frequently have cigarettes going while I was on the computer or messing with my phone, but was preoccupied, so I generally only smoked about half of it. While smoking, the car, though, was my weak spot. One hour drive to work, and I'd have three cigarettes - I'd light up at certain spots along the road. I guess I'm asking because hubby complained last night that I was vaping almost the entire ride home (45 minutes or so) from the visit with my mother in the hospital. Stress/worry + nothing to do with my hands = vaping, I guess. He also complained that I took my entire kit with me, but I took an extra battery stick because I had a feeling that the one I was using would die in the car, and I took all my flavors because I hadn't been able to settle on a flavor that day (yesterday). As a matter of fact, I was unable to settle on a flavor for more than an hour until after we replaced the coil on the Davide and it started acting like it did when I first got it again - then I stuck with 618 until bedtime, when I switched over to milk chocolate. But, my question stands, how much is too much?

What part of Illinois? I'm near St. Louis. Just finished my survey. I find your sig line interesting, but I have to wonder, though, with the habitual use we smokers (former) have had, could our tolerance be raised, thus not "lethal" at those lower levels? Well, okay, what I read was for humans (and I'm assuming the larger the human, the higher the value) the range of lethal dose is 30 - 60 mg. So, a couple questions with that, first, I'm assuming that's all in the bloodstream at one time, not over the course of an entire day, since, unless it's mentholated, nicotine begins to be eliminated after about 2 hours. What I read said that menthol increases nicotine's half life because oxidative metabolism of nicotine to cotinine is inhibited by menthol. Cotinine has a half life of about 20 hours....except again, in the presence of menthol, it takes longer to break down. I did not, however, find a lethal level of that, just it can still be detected for about a week after the last nicotine used by certain lab tests (which is actually pretty important to know if you would be a hospital worker, b/c around here, hospitals have started a policy of not hiring anyone who has smoked in the last 6 months. Since vaping isn't smoking, thus spewing about carcinogens, I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem with that, as some hospitals allow you to vape inside, but some of the hospitals with the restrictive hiring WILL test for nicotine metabolites - so if you are vaping with nicotine in it, you need to let them know - they can get nasty about it, unless they know you are still using the patch, or the gum, or the nose spray or whatever. But most of us should pass the sniff test, unless we live in house with a smoker, or ride in a car with one).
