  1. Considered the Tesla, but never jumped on it. All of your thoughts are good ones. The Vamo 5 CAN have some issues, but as far as I know they can all be easily resolved at home (like stretching out the spring to hold the battery up to the contact). I would also throw in the Zmax as a suggestion, but (and you won't find this many places), if you tend to overtighten it when screwing it together after putting a battery in, it could play havoc with the electrical components, making the trigger button iffy - which is what happened to mine. I've also used the MVP, and am currently using the VTR, but the MVP and the VTR are both box APVs, not tube APVs.
  2. Okay, I haven't used IE in YEARS - too many to count, as a matter of fact. Was using Firefox all this time. HOWEVER, having Chrome on both my tablet and my phone, I decided to try out Chrome on my PC - especially since Firefox was frequently crashing (although that may be due to the fact that I had too many tabs open). Chrome doesn't crash, however, we discovered that when I open an MMO to play it, at least for the first several minutes, I need to close Chrome, since every tab opens up a new process. And forget about tabbing between Chrome and the game most of the time, unless I have five or fewer tabs open. So, I'm looking for input - out of Firefox or Chrome, which do you prefer, and why?
  3. They certainly do, Troy. Either that, or they move them.
  4. Was it attached to a device, or lying on it's side? And what size tank was it in? I'll relay my experiences with this. When I got my KPT mini 2, one of the o-rings on the end of the glass tube fell off first washing, and I really hadn't even noticed that there were o-rings on the ends of the glass tube BEFORE that. I put the o-ring in the bottom part of the kpt mini 2. I don't know that I even paid attention which end I put the o-ring that remained on the glass tube when I assembled it, but at least twice, it was on the bottom as well, because I laid the tank down on my towel, and would come back some hours later (usually over night), and all the juice had leaked out the tank. Just a ml or so of juice, so not a lot to even dampen the towel, so by the time I got up in the morning there was no trace of it. So I would double check that you have o-rings at each place you should have them.
  5. One thing to be cautious of when you get the actual packaging. If it DOES NOT SAY "Kanger Tech" with the emblem (top flap, usually), but indicates just pro tank or evod coils, then you have a knock off. Knock offs are luck of the draw - sometimes, they will just have a shortened life span, but other times you'll have an ENTIRE box of them that are bad.
  6. Actually, the equipment should be just fine - an eGo 900 mah is around where other people start out as well, although I myself am not fond of the CE tanks, or top coils in general, although you MIGHT upgrade to an eGo twist with variable voltage, but the suggestion on dropping the resistance on your coil head is a good one, at 3.7 volts, you won't be pushing much power through a 2.4 ohm coil. The biggest factors in throat hit are nicotine level and PG%. How much did you smoke per day, and why did you start out at such a low nic level in your juice? The higher your nic level, the harder the throat hit, usually, but it depends on what you can tolerate. Higher PG% will also increase your throat hit.
  7. Plus, the 134 comes with the 30 S, doesn't it? Other than it being dual coil, the changing is slightly different, isn't it?
  8. Especially when the non-pocket protector wearing person was being such a prime target.
  9. My hospital doesn't allow vaping inside, but it's part of their policy against scented products. Staff members aren't allowed to wear perfume, scented lotions, body spray, etc., because the scents could set people's lungs off. That's their reasoning behind not allowing vaping. And I understand that. Really, I do, especially after three staff members, on two separate days, tried to interact with my mother in law wearing either perfume or scented lotion, and she had to kick them out of her room because the scents were shutting her lungs down.
  10. Okay, since no one's jumped in yet, HOW new to vaping? Congratulations for adopting a healthier habit than smoking......but brand new to vaping, I would stay far, far away from DIY juice. Other than the whole nature of it, the precautions required (and the dangers if certain chemicals are handled wrong), etc., there is the simple fact that your tastebuds are still, essentially, healing, and what you like can change from month to month, not to mention one week to the next right now.
  11. I would say the Vamo, the Sigelei Zmax, the MVP (box mod), the SVD, all good APVs to start out with. As Irwink said, with MOST of those, you will have to purchase separate batteries and a charger (depending on how much you vape, I would say at least two 18650 batteries, I started out with three, just to be safe), and a good quality charger - I prefer the Nitecore intellicharger. The MVP comes with a built in battery, but you'd need to use your existing VV battery while the MVP is charging (which doesn't actually take that long).
  12. Okay, I haven't been keeping up with posting my purchases, but here goes. I'll only post what isn't going in the vape mail thread. A week, maybe two weeks ago (did I post this already?), actually, two weeks ago today, I went to Better Vapes, and they didn't have samples of these flavors out, but I bought them anyway, without tasting them first. I bought Cinnamon Stick....which by the name you would not think a red hots type flavor (okay, maybe it WAS more than two ....and I bought Caramel. My refill order of VT Caramel was on it's way, but I wanted to TRY their caramel flavor because it is cheaper, and I wouldn't have to pay for, or wait for, shipping. Well, the "cinnamon stick" was actually "red hots", so I gave that to my husband, since his Inferno is at a higher nic level than he currently vapes. At first I didn't like the Caramel, so I avoided it for um, well, until a couple days ago. Well, now I like it, so I've been vaping it, a lot. This weekend, went BACK to Better Vapes, and their Pineapple was abominal. Or maybe it was because the sample was made fresh and needed to steep. I tasted the Pina Colada for the second time since my last seizure (I liked it before the seizure, but never bought any), and bought the Vanilla Custard. The Pina Colada, I thought the weird taste I was getting was from the plastic tubing they use for disposable mouthpieces rather than ordering something that doesn't interfere with the flavor. Get it home, and nope, it's either from the pineapple, or it's something else in the mix, or maybe it needs to steep (most of their flavors don't), so I've barely touched it. Maybe letting it set for a couple weeks will make it more palatable. I had gotten it because with my taste buds screwed up from the last seizure, some of my go-to flavors aren't really doing it for me right now. But that may not be, either. Who knows. Today, just this morning, I ordered another 20 ml of Poppin' Pineapple from the VT store - seems right now I can't get enough of it, and I'm having to ration it until my order gets here, which I'm actually not expecting for maybe until the end of the week?
  13. Congratulations on the upgrade!
  14. Okay, this is probably a stupid question, but when you have a tank with a static flavor in it - meaning you don't switch out flavors, you keep using the same flavor in your tank, how often should you clean the tank out and the drip tip? I'm not talking about RBAs, I'm talking just regular KPT's (either full size or minis) and Evods. Also, while I'm asking questions, all my tanks are bcc's - either KPT's or Evods. If the tank is mostly full, is there any harm in tilting the tank up a bit? I'm not talking like a 90 degree tilt, probably even anything near what you do with a top coil/wick, but I don't know, maybe 30 - 45 degrees from vertical? The coil is still well covered in juice, but my husband says I'll burn my wicks/coils out doing that (even though the wicks are silica, and the coil/wick assembly is never NOT in juice). I don't know why, or how, it's just a habit I got into.
  15. Hence the name Pluid. This is what I said: Also, I think another good indicator is if when you get it, it's fairly light colored, and the darker color only comes into play after it's steeped for a bit. Flavors that need steeping (some come pre-steeped), if they aren't artificially colored, or even flavors that DON'T need steeping, will darken over time. Any of us that have ordered from EC Blends have seen it happen, or any of the juices made by the people that make Boba's. I've gotten some bottles, especially from EC, that have practically been clear when I received them, but they take on a different hue after they've been steeped. I see it happen with my juices that I get from Better Vapes - they don't NEED steeping, but they still darken over time, even if kept in a dark, cool place. It's just something that happens with aging.
  16. Allergy triggers are one thing. Things that send you into respiratory failure are another.....my mother in law had to have three different hospital personnel essentially banned from even the vicinity of her hospital room until the end of shift because of the scented products they were wearing. If she had just gone somewhere that someone was wearing that product, she could leave - but she couldn't. Same thing in your situation. It was a lock-in. They can't leave, and unless there is a separate ventilation system, even the scent of what we are vaping gets into the air. The people that frequent that place, they know what they are getting into with the smells you already listed. But they didn't sign on for the other stuff. Which is why I can see both sides of it, now that I'm not smoking analogs.
  17. Okay, so I got a mini KPT mini 2 from the VT store (good price, too). Only has had one flavor in it, and it hasn't been USED that much because even though I tanked up the cinnamon I guess a week ago, maybe, I couldn't really get a taste for it again until last night. So, I took it upstairs with me, and I decided to change flavors. I went to take it off the VTR, and it ended up unscrewing from the base, leaving the base attached to the VTR. Well, it's rarely happened since I got the VTR, but it has happened, so I don't think anything of it. Now, just some background....when I put this coil in the tank, I first tried putting another coil in, but it would screw down with the other coil. It was a brand new coil, so I figured the press fit must have just not been pressed straight, and I would deal with it later. Well, I go to screw the base and coil this time back on the mini kpt2, and you guessed it, it wouldn't screw down. I tried two different brand new coils. All three coils would screw down with the base on another KPT mini. Heck, even the base from the "problem tank" would screw down on other tanks, and other tanks' bases would screw down on it. It seems that it just has the problem when you introduce coils into the mix - coils that work fine with other tanks. I've tried brand new coils, coils that have been cleaned and dry burned, etc. Wait - tried a coil that was straight out of a used KPT2, and it worked. Tried a coil from a different package, but still a genuine Kanger coil, as the other package was, and that worked....so maybe it could be just the coils from THAT package, even though they worked on the other KPT minis?
  18. Boba's isn't really a dark colored juice. As a matter of fact, I have trouble telling the difference between it and my cinnamon. Some juices are dark just by the nature of the flavoring in them. Also, I think another good indicator is if when you get it, it's fairly light colored, and the darker color only comes into play after it's steeped for a bit.
  19. Red Lobster. I wasn't expecting to get the green light from them to vape indoors, since Applebee's turned us down, and Red Lobster is also a national chain, but V-Day, when I put our names in (bloody hour wait), I asked them about it, and they double checked with another staff member, and they allow it. Unfortunately, husband wouldn't allow it, not sure why. He's told me if I vape in restaurants, he'd walk out and leave me there (but places like Fast Eddie's is okay, because if we are there, it's with family, so we are in the smoking area anyway). He won't even vape in my parents' house, even though my mother has given the green light because hey, it's not smoking, it's not smoke, and it's not going to harm her cardiovascularly.
  20. How do you find out if they use food coloring in their juice? I mean, so far I'm pretty sure that none of the juices I've tried/used have food coloring in them, but better safe than sorry. Or as my husband put it, better safe than dead.
  21. Me, too! Well, in Alton....but if you are in the St. Louis area, you know where Alton is, thereabouts.
  22. True. Also, if incorrect, your um, assertations, is that the right word? Could border on libel or slander.
  23. Okay, final answer, at least the last, um, answer answer you'll get from me. More PG = more TH. Set up makes a big difference on TH - what kind of device, what kind of coil, and I believe the resistance. Most people that want killer TH, I believe, go the RDA route. You definitely get a more intense flavor, and you feel the nic level more that way. No one is going to tell you "this juice does it". And especially not nic levels - what's just right for me is too low for the next guy, or even too high for a dripper.
  24. Okay, I haven't posted on this before, because, as you will see from my post in the rants section, since the stupid seizure two weeks ago, my tasting my vapes have been off, and up until say, four days ago, I hadn't really vaped 555, my adv, at all since the seizure. My SO gave me the HCigar Kayfun 3.1 clone. And LOL, after examining it when he gave it to me after I took it apart and put it back together, he says mine is machined better than his. Since the 555 is what I was planning on put into it, I wasn't too concerned about getting it put together quickly. It helps that it came with a coil already, though, just have to measure the resistance and make sure it's in the range that I want it. Cleaned it out real good last night, guess he's going to work on getting it ready/the coil installed either tonight if he has time (he has school all day - like f/t job hours today) or tomorrow when he only has one class. Or maybe wait until the weekend, when he would (hopefully) have more time. I dunno.
