gratz Hodge, well done. It's kinda funny that you will eventually lose track of that number and not even think about it. Glad to see someone so enthused by it. I am not even sure how many days it has been for me, I am at the phase where I just cant believe I USED to smoke. Gross!

here is another American option http://www.lighthound.com/ I wouldn't say they are better or worse than BJ, just another recommended option to price out. I have used them a few times and have been to their store once as they are local. Same day shipping, competitive price, etc.

Here is one I just started recently and while it is not an "all day" vape, I do love to have it at least once a day. O.k..... Bananas Foster from VapeRite, Then about every refill or two, I drop in naga chilli pepper solution from Decadent Vapour/TW (known as Diablo Lobo) onto the atty or cartomizer, you really HAVE TO USE IT SPARINGLY! The solution I make is 1:50, diablo loco to PG or VG (that is plenty hot!) sweet and hot, doesn't really burn your tongue unless you get juiced but if you like "sweet and hot" adding some naga chili pepper solution is really freaking AWESOME!!!! Its not a throat hit, its a chest punch A "reckless" chest punch at that...

Sorry to hear that, Lori, I know how tough it is right now. Yes, you could conceivably (and I have) run a LR at 3.7v setting on an av device (not at anything much higher or the protection circuit kicks in). However, you wouldn't want to do that, IMHO, save your LR for your backup device and use your cartos/reg attys for the AV model. There really isnt a difference between LR and a regular at a higher voltage. In the end, we are talking about wattage output. Whether you do this by lowering the electrical resistance of the atomize or raising the voltage of the device, in the end all your doing is manipulating the wattage output. The AV would give you more flexibility to tweak it if you wish. Good luck, hope some employer comes to their senses soon and snaps you right up!

define....expensive. Here is a set up that I would (and currently am doing) do you can buy a joker kit from Vtalk store for 62.00 (use discount code) Then buy Vaprlife Maintenance plan which will upgrade the Joker ($28.00) total is now 90.00 and that includes batteries, a charger and a holster. If you have VTStore ship directly to VaprLife, you can save the $6 on shipping. $90 for a joker kit is a complete steal for AV (at today's prices) and it really is like having many different battery types in one. I ordered a second one today (third AV unit) because the price is so good. Oh yeah, it comes in magenta (purple in the manual, pink if your referring to Jeff's, color looks magenta to me)
-
Do you have an approximate date for when these will be available on the VTStore? I have my credit card in hand.

Stop PIMPING the cartos and go SHIP my cartos!!!! =)

I found the same on 3.7V and already had a case (50) of them and wasnt sure what to do with them. now that I am running them on 4.5V, I just ordered another case as these are now my absolute favorite. Standard atties are very frustrating (cleaning, bad taste and I believe the quality standards has decreased this year) for me. I may never use one again.

The airyness (kudos for expanding the restrictive English language) varies from device to device, I have found. I can tell you that the sitting on the Joker does reduce it somewhat. It is so much better on the Joker that I have not touched a standard ATTY in weeks (at least 2) and probably will not use them much. One thing about dripping with a standard atty was occasionally, I would get a "volcano" effect, where VERY hot liquid would come up from the atty, through the drip tip onto my tongue/mouth. I do remove the bridges from my atties and this will happen if you have too much juice. I may just be mildly retarded and this doesnt happen to anyone else but it really pi$$ed me off. My fave setup now is: JokerAV @ 4.5V, Cartomizer with the lid popped off and a drip tip. little flooding (you can drip around 8 drops at a time), great flavor and excellent performance. I literally may never touch a standard ATTY again. I just ordered another case of cartomizers from Christopher this morning. oh yeah, Vaprlife now has the voltage reading units as well, they are < $20 and work very well.

I don't think I will ever tell anyone again I live in Houston.

When you are testing the power supply are you testing the amplifier inside the machine or the plug into the back of the computer? What to you see when you turn on? Can you see the BIOS load? or any text on the monitor at all?

For me, the big feature is not necessarily the HV option. I vape at 4.35 V, which is just slightly over the voltage of a fully charged 3.7 V battery (4.2V, off the charger). The big difference for me is consistent performance. Because the unit is regulated, I get a 4.35 V output the entire time from the device until the end of the battery charge cycle. What frustrated me about non regulated mods is that htey were all great with fully charged batteries but then after a short time, the voltage diminished. The voltage would start off at 4.2 and finally end around 3.5V, this to me was a big difference in output. So, from my perspective the Joker AV will give you very consistent performance throughout the duration of a battery's charge cycle.

k, fair enough. Pi$$ed me off though because I was being careful. Wouldn't get so bent out of shape with myself if it was a careless error. I remember going back to the site to double check the price drop from $109 (what I paid) and $99 (what I think I saw) This is why a columnist should never proofread their own work. In any event, was a very good value at $109 as well.

If moisture in the lungs causes physical issues or even pneumonia, I am going to 1) never go to a sauna, 2) never take a hot shower (I am married so most showers are cold anyways) and 3) move out of this tropical climate (Houston). In addition, menthol inhalers, throat sprays and french kissing will all have to be re-evaluated to protect my lungs from the dreaded water moisture. O.k. I am being silly but my point is, o.k. if vaping puts moisture in our lungs (and it most certainly would), so what?

got one as well. I swear I was not dreaming about the price of the AV unit. I remember checking it twice when I did my review. Anyone else recall seeing it at $99? It is now $109, again. Maybe I dreamt the whole $99 thing or was looking at the FV. I thought I was being careful. I tried using the way back machine (internet page archive http://www.archive.org/web/web.php ) but vaprlife hasn't been around long enough to be archived.

This is a real hard one to answer because it is difficult to ascertain where the taste is coming from. I do find that PG does have some aftertaste to me but I can't be sure that is what you are experiencing. I vape 90% DIY and I do like a 70%VG/30%PG blend and I don't have much aftertaste at all. Taste is really different for all. Awesome Vapors does have a funky taste to me which is rather depressing because the primary taste is so good.

I do notice the same with cartos. I believe it is because most cartos have a higher resistance than a standard 510 atty and therefore runs cooler. Cooler running atomizers generally seem to deliver stronger flavor. The only drawback I see to cartos (and I love them) is that you have to be careful how much VG is in the mix, if it is over 30%, (from my experience) it does not flow very well to the heating element and is then prone to flooding and frustration. I started making my DIY mixes at 20% VG and the cartos have been delivering wonderfully to the point I haven't used anything else in 2 weeks. I also like running the cartos at 5V and the vapor production is very good. I didn't like them as much with a standard 3.7v battery.
-
what device/voltage are you guys running the 901s on? I have had some bad fortune with them, really didn't like them at all. They ran very cold for me (3 diff suppliers) and the flavor didnt seem that much better than 510. I ran them on every voltage realistically possible.

The size and weight of the Buzz didn't bother me one bit..... then The Joker arrived and wow... I still like the Buzz but the Joker is so much more comfortable to hold/carry, The Buzz is my backup now.

I would talk to Todd at Vaperite, I am pretty sure you know who he is. He will make your juice as you like it, custom for you and your tastes. Everything he has shipped to me has been excellent. A++ option because it is not very often you can discuss the juice with the mixer themselves.

my multi does not either. Too bad they dont make wives the same way they make multimeters.... (sorry, long day...)

It looks much better without the gold plating. I thought the plating would take a while to wear off and I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed looking at the gold. Two days after I received it, I was wiping up a leak off the connector with a paper towel and I noticed it was starting to come off. I soaked up a corner of the paper towel with some juice, coated the connector and rubbed all the plating off. Now...it is silver and oh so sexay!

Opinion: This is a mature device that was well developed and it is apparent that a lot of thought went into the design and safety of the device. I was surprised that an adapter to connect to my multimeter (voltage reader) was not available for the device. I already had one that worked on the device so I could tune it but without that you really didn't know the exact voltage. Some atomizers I would not want to run at particularly high voltages so this is important to me. However, once you have it set, you really don't need to touch it at all. Vaprlife is now advertising a voltmeter that screws on the top of the device. This will be great for those that don't already have a voltmeter. This is not currently available at the time of this writing but is expected to be released soon according to the current home page of VaprLife Another surprise was lack of manual and documentation. There isn't any instructions on how to control the voltage. Even a rough guide (one complete turn = .2 volts approx) would be helpful for the uninitiated. When I received my first AV unit, prior to The Joker-AV, I fiddled with it for a few days running experiments and tests. If this doesn't sound like you, then the above really wont bother you at all. Getting the best performance really is simple, if it is too cold, turn to the right, if it is too hot, turn to the left. Get it where you like it and forget about adjusting, it will be the same every time. With the quality of the craftsmanship and professional touches, it is easy to forget that VaprLife is actually a small shop and not a large manufacturer like Janty or Joye. I can understand why this was released before the documentation and volt adapter/meter was delivered but as this is still true at the time of this writing, I feel it must be noted. Summary I have been vocal about 2 issues I had with VaprLife and the release of the original (non av) Joker. 1) The description of the voltage rating for the device. I believe it should be the battery rating for the battery(s) used in the device. VaprLife believes it is the voltage under load. I think that because the load does change not only between different makes and styles of atomizers but even within the lifespan of the atomizer the battery rating should be used. We will agree to disagree on that point but the av/regulator makes renders that subject moot. The other issue I had was the price. The original $170 price was far too high, in my opinion and now VaprLife has come back with a very affordable price of $99 for the unit (with screwdriver) and $129 for the kit (4batteries, charger and holster case) which is also very reasonable. This has gone from one of the more expensive devices to one of the better values for a custom e-cig. VaprLife removed both of my complaints and what is now left is a fantastic device. It feels comfortable to hold, has excellent safety features, dependable and customizable performance, looks terrific and my bank account appreciated the value as well. If you are looking for a regulated or adjustable voltage device, you can not go wrong with the joker-av. Final Thought As I also own what I believe to be the first variable voltage device (not selective voltage), The Buzz, inevitably I expect to be asked which of these do I prefer or think is better. I think they are both very good devices. They are well made and the performance is identical. The size and appearance is what really separates these units and those attributes are very subjective. I would recommend either of these devices and I would suggest that everyone consider a regulated device such as these as they really are to me, the best vaping experience. If you just cant stop annoying your wife/husband/friend or cat with your constant spending on e-cigs, do what I did....buy one of each!
