  1. WTF are your talking about, I didnt bash him, I suggested people use caution. It was an opinion and you don't own a topic. I didnt insinuate anything about mixing in bathtub. Good Grief, man.
  2. I think that seized shipments are going to be a bigger issue than targeted suppliers. Suppliers are losing a lot of $$$ at the border. If juice didnt have such a high margin, we may have already seen it in the price tag. This is what will likely drive the prices up and suppliers out. I would caution anyone who is buying in bulk to get samples first. There is a lot of crappy juice out there and I really wonder WTF is going on where some suppliers are selling it for under $0.25 per ML. That is ridiculously low, IMHO and I can't help but think that there is something up to sell it for what are essentially the best DIY prices
  3. pfft, thats nuttin, try changing a 2 year olds diaper after wasabi chili night, now that is for the most drugge of thrill seekers (awesome vid btw)
  4. Has the FDA been monitoring tiny chat after midnight? "FDA is aware of reports of short-term side effects from the use of electronic cigarettes, including racing pulse, dizziness, slurred speech, mouth ulcers, heartburn, coughing, diarrhea and sore throat," And that is just from Mark and Snubber!
  5. AOL is known for its high journalistic standard and integrity. Didn't Walter Cronkite start out with AOL? This is a real gem... "All are designed to deliver vapors of nicotine, flavoring agents or other substances, including vitamins, herbal remedies, "calming ingredients" and medication guaranteed to cure or help almost any ailment." I was interviewed for this article and I did share my motivations for vaping... "claiming that the devices are a smoking deterrent and can cure erectile dysfunction and lead to weight loss." 3 birds, one stone, yay for me!
  6. I am far more put off by advertising that features naked or sexy photos of women to sell an e-cig. What does some ****'s pair of **** have to do with electronic cigs? It is lowest level marketing that I find offensive. This goes for cars, beer, mutual funds, etc. I don't care how good the wings are at Hooters, I will never have one because the manipulation is so pathetic. They assume that men are brainless sheep and just putting a pair of boobs near something will help it sell. I wish I could recall the chinese site that is probably the worst when it comes to this. But I digress.....
  7. When I search "teabag" on google, I get plenty of things besides cart discussion. just saying.... =)
  8. No, not DIY or at least, I am not adding the caffeine in DIY. Decadent Vapours, sold though Totally Wicked has 3 flavors available with caffeine. They are available as both premixed (on sale for %50 off) or as a flavoring. They have Doppio Expresso (coffe), Kola Kick (most authentic cola taste I have tried) and also "Green Cow", which is a play on Red Bull but tastes like pomegranate. I have been recommending these for months, I think it is the best juice/flavorings available. Pre Mixed flavoring
  9. I do have both and use them frequently. When I can, I prefer standard cartos with high/variable voltage. I am not a big fan of standard res cartos on 3.7V devices. A bit too cool to me and of course, the dropping of voltage with a 3.7 makes them very cool after a bit of use. The LR cartos are good for on the go and work well on the 3.7 devices I use them with. The do seem to get very hot, not so much overall but in a very small area that gets very hot so that it will burn my lips. The heat seems to be on the outside more than the middle. That may be my imagination. The filler hasn't burnt easily, which really surprised me as I don't really keep them very wet when traveling. All in all, if I can use standards with higher voltage, that is my preference. If I don't feel like filling carts or cant drip while traveling, they work well. Outside of that specific instance, where a carto is needed in a small device, I don't use them over other options. They are cheap, like standard res and I certainly would recommend dropping $8 to try them out to make up your mind for yourself.
  10. The sweet spot certainly seems to change as time goes on. A few months ago, the answer would have been different and it may be different in a few weeks. As of now, I would have to say Joker PV set to 4.35V with either a cartomizer or a standard atty. I am currently hooked on Honey Flu Cured Tobacco (with a "touch" of menthol and that is my primary vape (made myself - DIY). I also really like Bananas Fosters from VapeRite and coffee flavors that I make from Decadent Vapours, Cafe Brasiliano or Doppio Expresso (10% caffeine in flavoring).
  11. The one unwanted benefit of switching to vaping is the loss of taste for tobacco. I was a pretty strong Cigar enthusiast and still have a humidor full of some very nice cigars, they all taste like crap now. Damn you, revitalized taste buds!
  12. I don't always use cartridges but when I do, I choose PBT mod. Stay vaping, my friends.
  13. I went out for dinner tonight with a friend who smokes. Even though I had my e-cig with me, I was curious and bummed a camel. God Awful is the only thing I can thing of. For me, smoking is not on pause, I will never touch those nasty things again. It tasted just like they did when I first started smoking and I can't believe I kept on doing it. Most people like to live without having any regrets or anything they would do over but I will always kick myself for even starting that horrible habit.
  14. One of the issues with this flavor (and others) is that it is very difficult to use artificial flavorings for something as complex as chocolate. The only one I found that does taste like chocolate is "Choc au Lait" from Decadent Vapours, found on the Totally Wicked site. It is extracted from natural cocoa and not only works well my itself (tastes to me like chocolate milk) but also mixes well with other flavors, such as coconut because it is derived from natural sources. I wouldnt say it has the candy bar taste but it is a good milk chocolate taste. I like it quite a bit and is the only chocolate flavoring I thought was authentic. their Chocomint is also very good.
  15. What qualifies someone to mix liquid? This was more of a cost post that a DIY post but I understand what you are getting at. I really don't think it takes more than some research and caution to DIY safely along with a healthy respect for what you are doing. However, it is your forum and if you wish, I will happily remove my post.
  16. IMHO, a "bomb shelter" would contain what you calculate to be your consumption for 2 years. (liquid nicotine is widely reported to last for 2 years under the right conditions). To give an example of my calculation, I will use my consumption and others can just plug in their info. FOR DIY: Amount of Juice consumed in a day: (this is a tad high but higher is better) 4ML Strength of Juice: 12 MG Amount of unflavored 100MG nicotine to make 10 ML at 12MG strength: 1.2ML note: 10 ML makes the division easy if you prefer different strengths of juice, just multiply strength by .10 so 24 MG would be 2.4ML, 18MG would be 1.7 and 6MG would be .06 Amount of Flavoring for 10 ML juice: (25%, you may like it stronger/weaker)2ML Amount of PG/VG for 10 ML: 7ML note: If you change the amount of flavoring of nic juice, make sure that you adjut the VG/PG level so that it totals 10ML. There are 712 days in a two year range I use 4ML per day, I would consume 2,848 ML of juice in a 2 year period. 2848 divided by 10ML bottles that I make means that I would need to create 285 10 ML bottles to last me 2 years. 285 is now the factor I use against the items in bold, I listed above So I would need 342 ML of Unflavored Nicotine juice 570 ML of Flavoring 1995 ML of PG (2.0 liters) I buy my nic juice and PG/VG from My FreedoM Smokes Here is the price for my bomb shelter, this is without the 15% discount they offered for last weekend. $158 for 375ML of 100MG unflavored nicotine base $70.00 for 2.0 Liters of PG $140 For flavoring, I will show Flavour art, which you can get for $150.00 for 600 ML from e-cig express Total cost for 2 years of juice: $368 ($.01295 per ML) When you consider that this is 6 cartons of cigarettes, $368 is not really that much money at all. Usually, the best price for mixed e-juice is in the area of $.50 per ML. Also consider that you will not pay shipping at either of the vendors listed above for this order. This would mean that premixed juice would cost about $1424.00 if you bought it premixed. Bottles (which you can reuse the ones you have now) syringes and plastic gloves for DIY is really trivial, you can get all for $10 or under. Presuming you have the devices to vape with (and appropriate backups) your bomb shelter is almost complete. Find a cool, dark and dry place to store your goods and you should be set for 2 years. Sorry for the mammoth post but I think many people would be interested to see what a 2 year supply cost could look like if you DIY ($368) or buy premixed at $.50 per ML ($1424.00)
  17. If you are going to continue to vape, it really can't hurt to stock up. I posted some ads recently on VT so people could take advantage of specials to stock up. All but the 50% off for Totally wicked premium juice has expired. I personally bought 250ML of unflavored 100MG juice. That, in addition to my current stock will last me at least 2 years. I strongly recommend DIY, it is very easy and I am able to get the price of juice down to about $.13 per ML (12 MG strength). DIY is simple but you do want to use caution when mixing as the base nicotine is very strong and if you have children, as I do, safety and segregation is imperative. I have also completely converted to mods that do not use e-cig only batteries so that batteries will always be available and I have a few backups. Some of us have been building "bomb shelters" during the summer in the event that juice/hardware is difficult or overly expensive to obtain. I personally believe it is not too late to begin doing this. Worst case scenario? you either 1) dont have to worry about buying supplies for a couple years or 2) wind up selling it on VT traders forum.
  18. I have always been a bit surprised that more suppliers do not follow the Totally Wicked lead on marketing. TW sets users up as "reps", they get their own coupon code and cards. The reps then spread the word and give out cards with their coupon on it. Whenever the discount coupon is used, the rep sees some of the sale as commission to use as a merchandise credit toward their own purchases. This is a very inexpensive way for a supplier to build an aggressive and motivated sales group without expanding their operating costs.
  19. i like to use the "primer puff" method when using atties. This is where you take one very short but forceful draw on e-cig. This seems to pull the juice to the atty. I also prefer to do it before I activate the power. I am also interested in what other peoples responses and rituals are.
  20. It is interesting to read this thread from a year ago. People referring to 4 hours as "long battery life". Things sure have changed in a year, the evolution of this market has been pretty amazing to watch.
  21. Here is a very cool and quick little tool anyone can use to understand how Ohm's/Joule's Law works: http://thelocust.net/ohm/ For some starting inputs to play around with; a standard 3.7 battery comes off of the charger at 4.2V, same with the eGo. The 520 battery is considerably less, as mentioned above but i dont recall what it measured when i tested it, I think 3.3V. A regular atty resistance is 2.2, LR is 1.7 and cartomizers are 3.2. Start punching these into the calculator and you will see the dramatic difference in the wattage, which really is what gives you the performance. I think the optimum wattage is debatable, I have heard some say between 10 = 11 but I personally prefer it in the 8.5 - 9 range. Everyone will have their preference but if you are interested in what REALLY controls the performance of the atomizer, get to know Joule's Law, it is actually very easy to grasp. just add the voltage and the resistance, then hit the calculate function. The wattage is the power output. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=joule%27s+law
  22. I don't think that is an atomizer, I think it is a device, similar to the one that Brian posted that goes in between the device and the atomizer. It is not a one time use. At least that isnt how i read the description.
