  1. auto batteries have that hole in them so the juice will get it from dripping/flooding. I understand the exposed atty but I was more concerned with the auto battery. Wanna fight about it?
  2. To make sure you understand the fundamentals, dripping is when users circumvent the loaded cartridge and choose to drip the liquid directly on the atomiser. This is preferred by many as they cite better flavor and performance from the device. While this will work with most e-cigs, it will not with some, particularly automatic batteries. Auto battery users need to "dip" the atomizer into the liquid. A video explaining dripping can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/ChrisFromCali#p/u/18/h14QDp4v3O4 I do prefer to drip and when I do, I have found that i choose the long plastic drip tips. I find the metal ones get too hot for me and the short ones can sometimes allow hot fluid to hit your tongue. The long black tips can be found here (although out of stock) a google search will likely find you others. http://shop.nhaler.com/Drip-Tips-for-901-510-Driptips901-510.htm
  3. Brian, can you share some info/linkage about the enercell adapter? I see it at radio shack but not sure how you run a USB passthrough to it. Xx92.... I also own one and you will be hard up to find a loan. I have found that most devices are good or they woudlnt survive, the question really is do the features match your needs? The BB is not small and isn't as easy to carry in a shirt pocket as an eGo but it will fit in pants (non jeans) pockets. It takes a true all-day battery (18650) and the performance is very, very good. It is VERY durable, easily the most durable unit I have seen. There are a ton of owners out there and I have not read a single complaint. If your looking for a long lasting workhorse that will last a very long time, the SB is the best device, IMHO. It isn't small but the size is manageable, the service at alt smokes is very good. I broke the 510 adapter on mine being stupid with atty converters (801 adapter) and they sent me a new top without charge, knowing it was my own stupidity. Solid State, great service, great performance at the cost of size. If this fits what you are looking for, this is a terrific and proven option. (they also offer a smaller version, if size is an issue but I don't know a single peep that owns that one so I don't have any reference for it)
  4. I bought an ego for a family member and they love it. The issue I am having with them is flavors. I have given them some of my favorites and they don't like them. To my horror, they said "the best flavor are the ones that came with the kit". She is referring to the sample cartridges that ship with 510 and the eGos. I gave her all I had but now she has gone through those and I don't have any tobacco flavoring on hand. Can some of you 'bacco flavor lovers make a recommendation for someone who taste buds are so dysfunctional they think the sample cartridges are good? Thanks, I am sure there are a few that will give me spot on advice, I would rather swim in the Gulf of Mexico than vape tobacco flavored juice. =)
  5. I will be very interested in your findings, I hope you have a multimeter to compare. I can tell you that an ego and a tornado measure at 4.16 when fully charged. I would be surprised if the maxx battery is any different. I have been noticing a few of these "ego" clones running around. I suspect they are not Joy manufactured. They all seem to come with 10 empty cartridges and have varying claims about the batteries. One very similar to the 4.2 claims to be 720 mah and 3.7. I just started to notice these within the last week. Maybe my brain is getting foggy from inhaling the fumes while painting the inside of my bomb shelter but I think something strange is going on.
  6. I couldn't agree more. I have had my BSB for about a month now and it has become my go to device. Not my favorite, that is my "Mark" mod but I wouldn't risk that device so it doesn't leave my office, let alone my house. The BSB on the other hand probably looks better with a few scuffs on it. While I imagine it will be replaced by "the precious" which is considerable smaller 18650 mod as my "workday" device, the BSB fits in my pants pocket very well and I carry it with me all over. If I only had $100 and could only buy one mod, it would have to be the BSB, it is awesome.
  7. o.k. I closed the window on this thread 3 times and I can not resist any more. Tuna Taco.... there, it is out of my system. Back to normal browsing.....
  8. I knew a girl we called the "submariner" but I don't think she smoked.......
  9. I dont want to cause a NSFW thread or any discussion that makes some uncomfortable. So, after a comment from my wife, I rationalized some positive side effects of not smoking. We all know that smoking causes hypertension and lack of blood flow, correct? Well, it has been noticed that once you stop smoking the flow of blood is improved. This translates into better circulation ALL throughout the body. One of the places I notice it is in my hands and feet, they are no longer cold all the time. I also noticed that sneezing doesnt cause tingling in my arms (kinda scary) My wife has also notice that my &*%& &*(*# is &*(# and &*(S&& *&$#($. So glad to finally say, I am not a smoker. Hooray! Whoops, the wife is home, be back in 3 1/2 minutes.
  10. IF you do go with buying a drip tip, I firmly believe that Super T is WAAAAAAY overpriced. 1) the metal one does conduct heat, it o.k. but will get hot. 2) I really like the plastics better, I think they feel better on the mouth and are much less expensive. 3) I have shorts and long and actually prefer the longs to my surprise. I was getting little drops of hot liquid jumping up on my tongue with the shorty, this rarely happens with the longs. It was happening so much with the shorts that I actually had a hard time tasting any e-liquid for a few days. You can use a pen tip to check it out first, I took a cartridge and drilled a hole in the center, both of these are pretty much the same idea, pen is a bit easier than a drill. You may want to check it out first before deciding to go ahead. I was asked the other day, "What is the best cart mod you ever learned" my answer was "Drip Tip" I don't have much problem with missing the hole (let me clarify for the juveniles, the opening of the drip tip!!!) but I do from time to time. I wipe it with a cloth and it works fine. Super T does have the wide mouth options but they really don't help with missing all that much and I surely don't think that is worth the extra 12 dollars for the metal wide mouth. If you do decide to buy plastic, I will recommend NHaler. That is where I bought mine. These are catching on so you may find other suppliers with them. Oh yeah, get some cartomizers too, friends don't let friends drip and drive......
  11. I mix my own 90% of time or higher and I use Decadent Vapour exclusively now. Tiramisu is in my *5*. 10 ML concentrate should yield 43 MLs mixed. That is with the flavoring at 23.33%, I prefer 30% so I do get a bit less and I keep quite a bit of the concentrate on have (2 bottles min) so I never run out. It is terrific!
  12. Guilty, for sure. I prefer all the windows down and sunroof open whenever possible.
  13. These are terrific and inexpensive alternatives. I think one of the reasons they perform so well for 510 users is the higher resistance, which results in a slightly cooler vapor which I believe preserves the flavor. You may want to consider picking up a wetbox for cartos. They are pretty cheap ($50 or so) and you can bottom feed 3ML into the cartomizer. You just squeeze the bottle that is built into the device and it shoots the e-juice into the cartomizer to keep it moist. I literally go almost an entire day, on the go without dripping, loading or anything with juices. Just strap in a bottle in the morning and go, go, go all day. As much as I LOVE my eGo, its getting a bit of a vacation right now.
  14. Wal-Mart, best buy and Fry's all carry the car chargers that will go to your battery charger. However, If this were me, I think I would prefer the PCC as a charging source for portability. I would also consider buying a second PCC so I am spend more time hugging trees than idling my carbon monoxide factory.
  15. Damn, he beat me by 4 minutes. What Dave said, the absorption rate is far less. I also think that its possible that the vapor may not pick all the nic up in the vapor. I am also curious about how much excess nicotine is released into the air on exhale. This is why a real scientific study needs to be done. I personally would like to see the labs over at "popular science" take this on. I also dont want to miss the point of the topic. Ouster, what you are getting at is very real, you are using less nicotine and reducing your dependency on it. Once you are comfortable with vaping and feel settled in, allow me to make you a suggestion; try buying some 18MG and give that a shot. You may be surprised. I personally went from 24 mg to 6mg in about 2 months and I dont have cravings nor am I unsatisfied. Also for the first time in a long time, when I wake up, I dont HAVE to have nicotine anymore. I have been up for 2.5 hours this morning already and have yet to vape. This was unfathomable a mere 10 weeks ago.
  16. I have nothing new to add other than to further endorse the wetbox. You will have to set it up for her but she will get a good full day out of it (3ml). Setup may be rather tricky when you are blind but I have personally seen some amazing things in my time when I worked in an eye and ear hospital. I bought a wetbox for my mother in law, she is not blind but believe me when I say she is plenty impaired. If she can make it work, then it is fit for anyone else. (Is there a way to set a post so my wife can't read it???)
  17. No, I was joking, I would love to have gone but my wife and I just had another baby and I cant take off for a month. I had tickets for some English Football games in April but had to cancel that trip. Yes, under a month to go, I remember when I got excited watching the countdown ticker of the FIFA site when it was at 650 days.
  18. no, not yet. the 5ML auto drip add on wont be ready for another month or two. Price hasn't been determined yet. I got the L, I like the capacity (2400 MAH, almost 4 times for than the eGo) of the 18650, hard to believe he has created one that is slightly taller than the ego (with atty/tip installed). I expect this to be my all day device.
  19. congratulations on exchanging your nicotine addiction for a e-cig hardware addiction. says the guy who is staring at this mailbox waiting for his silver bullet to arrive!
  20. thats a great point, when I put the carto on my eGo with the cone on, the draw is much tighter and better. i am not familiar with the design of the spade but could it be designed in a way that slows the draw so the vents arent so open?
  21. McQuinn, you owe me a new keyboard as I just soaked mine in peach ice tea reading your response. A++ By the way, I refuse to get an installed phone in my house. I just don't see how having a phone in one location will improve my quality of life.
  22. congratulations for trading your addiction to cigarettes for an addiction to PV devices.
  23. not sure if those companies will ship to SA but I know this guy will. they are made when ordered and it is not a commercial company so there is a good deal of wait time but the reviews convinced me that they are worth it. I ordered mine at the end of April and it shipped today. http://theprecious.ro/home/reviews-by-vapoorer/
  24. America doesn't make great products anymore.... well, maybe if you are shopping for fattening food or unreliable cars.
