  1. What a nice, provocative post, GG Roh. I am one of those people that doesn't understand what 2 attractive women wrestling on a sidewalk has to do with a virtually flavorless American beer.?? Conversely, I wouldn't want to see the same 2 women wrestling over 10 ML of Mentha either. I may not be a good person to respond to this because I am too acutely aware of lowest common denominator advertising. I believe it should be a priority to educate the ignorant in advertising and intentionally avoid any advertising that is appealing to anyone under 25 years old. A link between the under 25 demographic and e-cigs only serves to hurt the e-cig cause. however, the under 25 demographic historically changes brands and allegiances easier than older groups and therefore are the target primary target in most advertising initiatives. I believe advertising should be effective AND responsible. I also believe one of the fundamental issues with our economic culture is that "AND" has been replaced by "OR". By the way, you avatar has a large penis on its face.
  2. Thanks to everyone for the kind replies. I really havent done many (1 I think) reviews before and none for devices. I felt as this mod is so new, a VT groupie needed to contribute some thoughts. (Hey Christopher, how about a backstage pass??)
  3. Font is Trajan, an old fave of mine and is the Vapor Talk logo as well. It is rather limited as it is a CAPS only font but I have always liked it, way back when I did typesetting as a summer job in college....but I digress.
  4. Here are 2 very good ones. Both of these are "made to order" sites, which ensures you have freshly made juice, I personally think this does make a difference. Tasty vapors has alot of the common flavors, If you like red hot cinnamon candy, you have to try "Atomic Cinnacide", it is really one of my favorite juices that I don't make myself. http://www.tastyvapor.us/ Ms t's Bakery Essentials is another made to order site. She has a huge variety of juices but her core competency is the bakery flavors. The Blueberry Muffin is uncanny how much it tastes like the breakfast pastry. It is difficult to explain but her flavors dont come across as layers, such as chocolate and then mint, with her blends, they come together as chocolate mint, in one unified flavor. One other note she sells a "bottle buddy" which is great for carrying juices on your keychain when you dont normally carry a purse. http://www.mstsbakery.com/ I personally recommend both of these vendors, even if the flavor you choose doesnt appeal to you, you will agree that the quality of product and service is way above average.
  5. You bet, whipped these together on my webcam. The picture quality and composition is not ready for National Geographic just yet but I think it will give you an idea of the size. http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/gallery/image/553-height-comp-copyjpg/ http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/gallery/image/552-end-comp-copyjpg/
  6. I received "The Buzz" about 5 hours ago and this is my first impression review. As a rule, I think it is best in most cases to wait a week or 2 but as there are few reviews on this "emerging technology" device and a good deal of interest, I think this makes a good exception to that rule. I will take a page from the Grimm Green book and post a final review later. Before I get started,There are not very many pics of this mod, the designer posted some today, you can find them here: Vitals: Mod Name - The Buzz Vendor link - http://www.notcigs.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=17&category_id=7&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1&vmcchk=1&Itemid=1 Price - $114.95 Batteries - 2 X cr123 size 3.7V http://www.notcigs.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=9&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=80&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 Supported Atomizers - choice of 901 or 801 sitting, and purchase and adapter for 501 ($3.95) Appearance: The majority of effort and R&D seem have gone into the performance and function more than the design. This is not one of those "gorgeous" mods but it is not ugly. It is a simple and pragmatic design. It is a 4 3/8" long tube with flat end caps that are 1 1/8" in diameter. The construction seems solid, not indestructible as the Silver Bullet but appears to be built to last and sustain reasonable drops. The body features a spill reservoir around the atty and vent holes in the lower part of the body in the event of a battery rupture. The body also has 3 grip rings scored into the exterior. Visible on the outside of the body is a small LED indicator, a very small and responsive button, phillips head screw used to hold internal components and a small vent hole that allows access to the main star of this mod the potentiometer. The placement of the button is at the top of the mod and comfortable using both an index finger or my preference, my thumb. Features: Safety is a priority with this mod, which is key as it requires stacking batteries. The circuitry within the device features five Way Protection against shorts, unsafe temperatures, reverse polarity, excessive current drain, over discharged batteries. It is nice to know you can use unprotected batteries although I would NEVER use anything besides protected batteries. The flagship feature of this mod is the potentiometer. A potentiometer allows you to adjust the regulated voltage to whatever you wish in a range between 3.7V and 6.0. The Stacked batteries deliver a native 7.4 V (8.2 fully charged) and that voltage is controlled to only deliver the voltage the user desires. The voltage is changed by using a small blade screwdriver (provided with the base modeal) to turn the head of the potentiometer. The basic rule is 1 turn = .2 volts. These are NOT staged presets but you can change the voltage by at least .1 volts. You will want to have a multimeter (inexpensive) device to tune the MOD. It does come set at 4.5 V and you can guesstimate it without a voltmeter. You will need to buy a cord to attach your multimeter to the atomizer but thankfully it is very reasonably priced at $4.95 and available at the vendors site as are the batteries, chargers and adapters. Opinion: Now that all the details are out of the way, I can get to the fun stuff, my opinion of the device. The appearance is o.k. and the construction is at the very least, solid. I would have preferred a native 501 device as the adapter adds about 1/4" to the atty but it will be manageable. There are a few exposed but recessed construction screws that would have been nice to be capped or hidden but it really is not a big deal. I did not buy this mod for its beauty, after all, how smart are the prettiest girls anyways? (This does NOT apply to my wife or the lovely ladies that frequent Vapor Talk Forums) This mod's brains far surpasses its beauty. What I did buy this device for fully delivers the promise. I started out with some low charged batteries while I waited for my new ones to charge and it delivered a 4.5 right away and the entire time until the low batter indicator came on! This, for me is HUGE!! I quickly put the device on my multimeter and to my glee, as I turned the screw head, the voltage started changing. I was convinced I would like 4.2V the best but indeed the standard 4.5 was excellent for me. I have put other atties on both 901 and 801s and I was able to turn up the voltage to compensate for the higher resistance of these atomizers to produce a similar output wattage to my 510. Sure enough, the matching worked!(using a great calculator tool http://thelocust.net/ohm/) My biggest gripe with e-cigs and every mod I have seen to date is the battery performance. I really like a fully charged 3.7 battery when it is at 4.2 but within the first hour, I can feel it diminishing. By hour 4, I am looking for a freshly charged 18650 battery to get back to 4.2v or putting on a LR atty to get the power back. Who cares if the battery will last me 18 hours if I am not enjoying the output? I have been vaping constantly for about 5 hours now and the performance has been startling consistent. Not only do I have the perfect voltage for my taste but the device is delivering it with every inhale for 5 hours. As this is a new device, I am, of course, measuring it every 15 minutes and the s.o.b. doesn't change. This is the performance I was seeking and the consistency I demanded. 5 hours is admittedly not a great sample but it has been extremely encouraging. Summary When you consider this mod is among the first if not the first of its kind, it is remarkably mature and well thought out. I am convinced that this is the future of mods. Anyone who creates a new mod that does not have the ability to ascertain the performance and MAINTAIN the performance will just simply not be as good as this device. This includes the fanciest $150.00 to $200.00 mods. I am sure future revisions of this device and will have a sleeker look and likely a built in voltage readout and surely native 510. Buying this version of The Buzz allows you to be one of the first to jump the fence into the land of consistent performance. In a few years, we will probably look back at this mod as primitive compared to the 2013 models but I will fondly recall the night I was one of the first to enjoy a truly consistent and personalized vaping experience. I can not close this without mentioning the service I received. The vendor was responsive and surprised me by shipping the day I ordered. I am thrilled to have this today and the little touches really remind me that this is the best part of the e-cig/mod industry and that is access to the people at the top. Someday, I fear we will not be rubbing elbows with the Christophers, Parkers, Buzz, Peter from Decadent Vapors, Jasons from electronicstix as we do today. Enjoy it while we can.
  7. OMG you can't say doosh on Vapor talk? Well, might as forget about the feminine hygiene sub forum.....
  8. Wait a minute, since when does "not being like Corey Feldman" make you a bad person. I see it as confirmation that your not a ******...
  9. There are many more options out there besides a Joker for a lot less money. What specific features/attributes are you looking for in a mod? That is a better place to start, in my opinion. The standard 510 is rather weak and a Joker, while providing double the voltage actually would provide 4X the power (output wattage). You could get better output by upgrading to a mid sized device. It really all depends on what you specifically would like in your next device. Is there anything else you would like to see besides a little more kick?
  10. I prefer to cut straight Vg with PG or PEG-400. I dont think there is a wrong answer except for tap water, you dont want to use that.....
  11. go with what dave said, I only read it, he DID it.
  12. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaahahahahahahahahahahaha I remember this. This is the file that brought me to Vapor Talk in the first place. Christopher and his posting rules. I was desperate to find a juice calculator and google brought me to one of Dave's threads with this calculator. First, I couldnt DL the thing because I didnt have an account. Don't you just hate that??? O.k. so I make an account, and then try to download. I STILL cant download a ****ty 10K file????? WTF!!! So I start searching again through google because certainly someone must offer up the file without the lame account rules. I searched by the file name, which always works like a charm. What did Google tell me??? VAPOR TALK VAPOR TALK VAPOR TALK **** That site!!! O.k. He is using Trajan font, which is one of my all time favorites but still, this site is pissing me off. So what do I have to do? 5 posts? Are you ******* kidding me??? WTF!!!! O.k. so I make my 5 posts and get the file and was relieved that I didnt have to come to this ******* site ever again. I forgot to delete my account...that was over 2 months ago...(true story) Oh yeah....thanks for the update. =)
  13. All you peeps that found this in a smoke shop have totally missed out on the racial stereotype musings of the Tasty Puff website. http://www.tastypuff.com tasty man, tasty! When I ordered these, they came with a packet of rolling papers. I was thinking, Where the **** was tasty puff 10 years ago???
  14. I have not tasted them ALL......yet, probably 30 or so. Been doing this for 2 months, so plenty of time. 17 new flavors just showed up on Monday so I am trying to pound through as many this week as I can (small batches). Flavor bleed isnt an issue, I think you know I rip the bridges out of my atties, that helps a TON. I always flush the atty with a Ml or 2 of PG when changing flavors (drip 10 drops on the atty coil and blow it out the battery end. For me, this really cleans an atty well (Thanks Ofurtuna!) Very little flavor bleed. This week, I have been having fun with blends. DV Caramel + DV Banana + single drop of cinnamon oil and 2 drops (per 30 drops) of DV cognac for Banana fosters. Mounds bar made from DV Chocolat Au lait + DV coconut is my current fave. I havent quite got the proportions right but DV Lime zinger + DV tequila is coming along nicely, i suspect I may need to add a hint of DV Orange blossom to simulate the Triple Sec in this margarita mock up. Even with these really nice blends, DV Kola Kick, where the concentrate contains 10% caffeine , is simply the best morning vape I have had. I skipped my customary ice coffee this morning and didnt notice.
  15. I know it is a federal offense to damage a mailbox but is it also a felony to beat up a maiman? Cuz if my Buzz doesnt show up in the mail on Friday......
  16. i think my collection of DV is up to about 40 now and none have gone in the trash. I just received some new ones from the UK (not available on US site yet) and they are the best yet. I will be posting info/reviews soon.
  17. yes, it should be dissolved and then combined with e-juice. I am not sure if PG will work, I always heard about using 100 proof vodka or something similar. I also have read that you can crush it to powder and add that to the juice. Personally, I have a bottle of liquid menthol concentrate (Decadent Vapours) that works perfect about 2 drops for every 1.5 ML of juice.
  18. Its the principle of the matter. I just bought 25 more atties from PureSmoker this week ($5.00 ea) and I STILL don't want to lose a SINGLE drag off my atty. Kinda ridiculous, I know, just wired that way. Not too worried about the Heat N' Kleen, I live in the city with the DIRTIEST air in the country, sometimes I stick my head in the pail of Heat N' Kleen just to get relief from the smog....
  19. http://www.webstaurantstore.com/gold-medal-2095-heat-n-kleen-popcorn-kettle-cleaner-31-oz/3802095.html original post at ECF http://www.e-cigreview.com/distribution/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=417
  20. I maybe just a freak, at least the UK vapors seem to think so but I find DV overall mild in flavor so I mix it at 30-40% and it is really good. Tiramisu is one that I do at 40%. The flavor is so complex, I really adore it!
  21. I really hope you liked that one. It is probably my favorite. My "20 pack" of DV flavorings came from the UK yesterday and I am playing with everything. I plan on posting about the "Kola Kick (10% caffeine). The taste of the cola is superlative! The high caffeine is nice to, vaped it all morning. I did a 50/50 mix of Cocolat Au Lait and Coconut and came up with a "Mounds Bar" mix that will be my afternoon vape tomorrow. So many DV, so little time. =)
  22. Heat n' Kleen is tremendous. I use it once a month and it is like they are brand new again. I bought a cheap microscope to do a side by side and it is astounding. I do rinse the **** out of them, though.
  23. oh boy!!! something, something, something....hotcakes.
  24. ahhhh I see what he did. I bought The Buzz today and part of the kit is a contraption to hook your multimeter up to an atty to measure total wattage. =) They do sell them by themselves, if you want one to call your very own. Its 901 but adapters are easy to get, as you well know. http://www.notcigs.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=91&category_id=7&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1
